Cast of Characters: Gwen Stacy, Eddie Brock

Gwen Stacy has posed:
It's close to Christmas. And Wong's Corner Store isn't immune to such a frenzy, even with being a smaller store. Business has been craaaazy. Certainly more than the usual. And chocolate is certainly coming off the shelves. And so no more promos on those. Not that Gwen hasn't made sure to hide a few bars for Eddie later on. Truth be told she *still* had to think on a christmas gift. She is awful with those ....

It's what's going through the blonde college student's mind while she is minding the store today, by the counter, elbow on it and her chin resting on her hand. Bit of a dreamy look to those blue eyes. So dreamy that the old Mrs. Watarowski has to almost scream in her ear to get her attention. And being a dutiful store clerk she steps around to go help the old woman to choose a couple of toys for her grandchildren.

Yea, it's not like the toys are great quality at Wong's, but sometimes that's all someone can afford. A bright smile is on her lips as she goes about the shelves to show them up.

Eddie Brock has posed:
Outside, the air is brisk. The breath of pedestrians visible little clouds as they make their way along sidewalks, hurrying beneath the snowflakes that are drifting down lazily.

Across the street from the little corner store, Eddie Brock is sitting on a low retaining wall enclosing a small yard there. He has on a heavy jacket and gloves, and is just sitting with his elbows on his knees. Watching the blond girl inside the store, seeing her jump and go to help the old woman.

   <<Venom>> "She looks beautiful"

"She does. She always looks beautiful," Eddie replies.

   <<Venom>> "She deserves flowers"

Eddie Brock lets out a sigh. "She does, buddy. But it's tough to find some to pick in December in New York."

<<Venom>> "You should buy some for her!"

"And I'd love to. If I had the money. As it is, it's going to be a race to have enough for her Christmas present in time. And don't forget how much I spend on live chickens for you."

<<Venom>> "Harumph. People are free to eat. That would save money"

Eddie's lips pull back in a wry grin. "You aren't wrong there," he says, though his eyes and thoughts are on Gwen Stacy as he watches her through the falling snow. Seeing that beautiful smile that brightens the old woman's day.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
There is quite the selection of toys. Squeaky toy horses. Or ewoks! (Not official ones), even some Avengers figurines and Spiderman. Such a friendly neighborhood spider that he is! Gwen appears to have infinite patience to go along showing most of them. Then talking for a length of time, maybe explaining what may be a better choice than another, or asking about the grandkids preferences so she can offer an educated opinion.

It means she is moving between shelves. Sometimes with her back to the windows. Sometimes facing them. Attention is mostly on the old lady though, eventually a choice of present being made! Sucess! A furry ewok! She's wrapping it up by the counter and talking with the old lady, the woman pulling out a purse with which to pay with. Some more talk, then the old woman dropping her shoulders in sadness. Gwen looks around the store briefly and then whispers quietly. The money that's exchanged seems to be less than what the toy would be. As the old lady departs the store she lets out a soft sigh and slides the bills into the registry machine, along with a few more of her own. It might explain why she never seems to have money even with working at Wong's.

It's also when she notices Eddie outside. She moves to the window to check it more closely, eyes squinting to make sure she is seeing the right man. But then she waves him in!

Eddie Brock has posed:
Eddie watches Gwen's charitable deviation from store policy, the sight of it bringing a smile to his face. If a bit of a sad one as he realizes even if she is better off financially than he, she can't much afford her act of generosity either.

But damn he loves her for it.

When she spots him and waves her over, Eddie gives her one of his warm, slightly crooked smiles. He stands up, dusting his behind off and moving to the street, pausing to let a car pass, than crossing it.

He comes over to the window Gwen is at, reaching up a gloved hand to rest on the glass as if touching her. He smiles and then moves to the door, the large man passing inside, pulling off his gloves and stuffing them into his pockets as he moves to Gwen.

"I didn't know Mrs. Wong hired an angel to work in here," he says to the blond beauty, his arms going around her to not just hug her, put pick her up off the ground as he holds her to himself. "You are so beautiful, Gwen," he tells her.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
Gwen's blue eyes are wide and bright as she watches Eddie come over to the other side of the street, her hand to the glass and her breath misting the window. She grins at him and then points at the entrance. She goes there to receive him, even if she does take a small while longer than what it'd normally take to get there. The why is soon found out as the hands that were behind her back reveal a chocolate bar. "Tadaaa.." I kept one of your favorites.

As those strong arms go around her she lets out a laugh, her own up and around his neck, pulling herself up to him. "No, you." is her reply to that last compliment. Half-teasing with lots of amusement but also with her cheeks gaining a faint color to them. She rubs noses with the large man and places a gentle kiss on his lips.

"Didn't know you were out there. I hope you weren't out in the cold for long?" She asks.

Eddie Brock has posed:
Eddie Brock gives Gwen a gentle kiss back, if kept short for being in public. Though the way he leans his forehead against hers and holds the slender young woman against him, she seems to own his attention completely.

The chocolate bar softens his expression further. "Thanks Gwen," he tells her, and that earns her another soft kiss as he continues to hold her off her feet. "I'm not sure. A little while. I just enjoyed watching you. I bet you don't know how much you smile. And how beautiful it is to see," he tells her.

A sharper voice cuts in from elsewhere in the room. "Too much time smiling, not enough helping customers," Mrs. Wong says as she returns to the counter from the back room. "Eddie, stop groping my employee."

Eddie sets Gwen down, a faint flush to his cheeks. "Can't blame me when you hire the prettiest girl in the city," he tells the older Asian woman.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
"I guess I am happy. With you. And my father apparently being well enough to spend christmas at home, it will be a good thing." Yes, Gwen hadn't smiled much the last few weeks. But a weight seems to have been lifted off her shoulders with the apparent recovery of her dad. Or at least enough that he's getting released from the hospital. "It also reminds me you will need to meet him sometime. Christmas sounds like like the ideal time.." oh no! Dinner with the in-laws!

But then Mrs. Wong comes in to toss away any further planning. Gwen's eyes go a bit wide, "Yes, Mrs. Wong." she says when Eddie sets her down on the floor. She is carefully making sure the chocolate bar disappears into Eddie's jacket with Mrs. Wong seeing it. Look at Gwen! Being a criminal! Of chocolate ....

A grin is delivered back at Mrs. Wong and then she fully turns, resting back against Eddie briefly, "We are filled with the holiday spirit, Mrs. Wong. Which speaking of, I saw how smiley -you- were when you came from that date the other day."

Eddie Brock has posed:
Vera Wong's eyes open wider as Gwen mentions the date. Just a touch of color comes to her cheeks and she has to work to hide a smile. With only partial success. "It was a nice night. Hot toddy, and a carriage ride in Central Park. Then we watched two episodes of Sex in the City," Mrs. Wong says, her voice carrying how pleased she was with the night before.

Eddie gives a quiet grunt only Gwen can hear about meeting her father. "Ok, but no sidearms in the house," he teases of the girl's policeman father bringing his weapon to meet the man dating Gwen that is a decade older than the college student.

"Yeah, Mrs. Wong? Great to hear," he tells her. "Yeah, all caught up in the holiday spirit. Was wondering if you had those Santa hats actually. Thought I'd wear one down to the shelter. Going to help serve dinner tonight," he says of a homeless shelter down the road.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
A wink is given to Mrs. Wong. Oh yes, she has put her on the spot. Such is what happens when you mess with Gwen! Perhaps she is learning with Mrs. Wong.... A terrible prospect. She does sound glad about the tale on what kind of night it was, a warm smile on her lips, "Sounds like a lovely night." she admits. "A carriage ride through Central Park sounds divinal. We will have to try it sometime, Eddie." she looking up at the large man with that kind of look that she truly wants to try it and isn't just saying it for Mrs. Wong's benefit.

Soon after she lets out a laugh about the sidearm, shaking her head, "Not sidearms. Fine. I will make him behave, I promise. Or well, I will try at least."

"How long are you staying there? I can come meet you. Make it two santa hats, Mrs. Wong." then she squinting her eyes, "Yes, I will pay'em." before the asian woman asks for it!

"Oooor, I will make you a deal. You get us the two hats and I will wear one in the store if you want." Gwen, the negotiator.

Eddie Brock has posed:
Eddie sees Gwen's expression of desire for her own horse-drawn carriage ride. "Absolutely," he tells her, unzipping his winter jacket and then sliding an arm around the young woman's slender waist.

The dark-haired man glances outside, down the street in the direction of the shelter. His free hand moves to rub at the light stubble on his chin as he thinks. "Probably at least until 9 pm," he replies to Gwen. "Late enough to help them clean up. You KNOW how I love doing dishes," he says with a sigh. His own apartment always seems to have a number of them on the counter or in the sink. Which is doubly worse since he's usually eating at Gwen's apartment just up the street.

Mrs. Wong was opening her mouth to speak, before Gwen answered the comment before it could be uttered. The offer catches her by surprise and she looks thoughtful. She glances over at Gwen more fully, a once up and down. "Deal. The furniture store next door used to have a girl about your size who wore a Santa outfit. If I get you that and you wear it too, I'll give you a nice bonus for Christmas," she offers.
