Unfair about Fairchild
Date of Scene: 02 January 2022
Location: Main Room - Titan's Tower
Synopsis: Sarah Rainmaker comes to the Titans to ask for help figuring out what's up with her friend, Caitlin Fairchild. The Titans make plans for how to try and help their friend as well.
Cast of Characters: Sarah Rainmaker, Terry O'Neil, Donna Troy, Victor Stone, Kaida Connolly
Tinyplot: Path of Glory

Sarah Rainmaker has posed:
She tended to lose touch with Fairchild for long periods of time. The only times she tended to check in were when Caitlin was missing or had things go catastrophically wrong. So given the second seemed to be a possibility, Sarah Rainmaker had come out of her self imposed isolation and would have been heading to the Towers. Her last few attempts had gone very, very erratically so it was time to do things in person.
So using her access to enter to the Towers, Sarah Rainmaker in her combat uniform would be heading in to the main area, glancing to see who was about.

Terry O'Neil has posed:
Sarah wasn't the only person arriving at the Tower just then- Terry spent the holidays traveling with his mother, with a request Not To Superhero unless there was an actual apocalypse or the Titans had immediate need of him. Fortunately, the world managed to not be in any /immediate/ danger during the holidays, and after a pleasant holiday visiting and roaming around County Londonderry, the ancestral origin of at least one branch of their family, the O'Neils are back in New York!

After a busy first day back at work (and arguing with people over social media during his lunch SHUT UP DONNA), Terry decides to drop by the tower to check in on the other part of his family. A Rabbit Hole opens into the main area, and Terry O'Neil, in the guise of the Cheshire cat, steps through.

He's not wearing his hero attire, for a change, but he's still in full holiday wear, with blue slacks and a red and white sweater that reads:

"I'm dreaming of a"
And here, there is a drawing of Betty White's face,
"Christmas."

"HEEEY LUCYYYY, I'M HOOO-" he pauses in mid holler when he notices there is a visitor, and quickly clears his throat.

"I'm so sorry- ahem. Can I help you?" he grins.

He has never met Sarah. After all, he was lost in a black hole the last time she came around.

Donna Troy has posed:
Sarah may not know who everyone is, but everyone knows who Sarah is. As soon as she had entered the tower, her identity had been checked with multi-spectral scans, and a notification sent to the T-Coms of everyone present about who the visitor was. Including the Titan's rather limited files on her, if they wish to access those. The main item of info is that Sarah is a friend of Caitlin's who had showed up at the tower when Caitlin, Donna, Terry and Vic had been missing space, offering to help out.

This is why when the elevator doors ping and Sarah steps out, Donna calls out "Hi there! Sarah Rainmaker right? Welcome to Titan's tower." She's seated at the table in the kitchen area of the giant room, clearly having just finished a meal. An empty plate sits in front of her, giving little sign of what food it had once born. She's sitting back and looking pretty relaxed, with a glass of wine in her hand.

Sarah might not know who everyone really is, but she'll recognize them. Their faces are familiar enough from photos. The older Titans have been Caitlin's besties for YEARS, and there has probably been mutual gossiping in both directions. Terry's newer, but still a well-known face at the tower. Then there's the fact that the people Sarah's meeting are exactly the ones who went missing with Caitlin and returned just about a year ago.

Victor Stone has posed:
The buzz of a visitor, and one he hasn't met, draws Vic out of his lab. He's been playing around with Nadia's "magic has colors" theory in the wake of Wonderland shenanigans, and keeping his eye on other stuff like "reasons for the Titans to take out the T-Ship." Mostly because he got behind on all that stuff due to the holidays.

He's got a black armband on, though. The last of the Golden Girls has passed, and it is a day of mourning. "Terry!" has calls to the Cheshire Cat, "We need to plan a wake!" Because you /do/, okay? You just... do.

Then he turns to smile at Sarah. "Hi! I'm Vic, welcome... can, uhh... can we get you anything?"

Kaida Connolly has posed:
The sound is almost not there. It is incredibly hard to hear a mouse run. The speed and agility of this particular mouse makes it evem harder. She slips in through the tiniest of openings and runs along the wall like it were flat ground. She actually moves across the ceiling, pausing atop a bookshelf to peer out from the shadows.

One, Kaida Connolly, is peering at Sarah Rainmaker with some curiosity but then others show up. She watches reactions before finally zipping out from her hiding spot to try and tag Donna in passing.

"Tag! You're it!" And then she'll rush up to jump through the air and try to land on Victor's shoulder and point at Donna.

" No tag backs!". She then will spin on a foot to face Sarah and wave, "Hi! "

Sarah Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah Rainmaker doesn't know most of the Titans. She's met a few in passing and recognizes some faces. Others she only knows from the news. So she would just wave and bow her head, "Hello, thank you for hving me." Mind going through what she knew of them. Watching the dynamics. Lynch's training kicking in as she would review what they were capable of and what she had read on them, putting names to faces and powers to names.
Laughing at Terry, "It's fine! I'm the one that's intruding on your home. Nothing to apologize for." The Apache Gen-Active would affirm. Giving a smile to Victor and Donna, "Thank you. I'm.. Sorry to drop by here without any sort of contact and dropping off the grid for so long." And for only bothering to check in on her friend when something bad happened. No real reaction given to Kaida running on. The Titans were as far as she had seen more on the 'informal' side of things.
"I'm.. Sorry. I'm worried about Fairchild. I've heard some.. Disturbing things and I don't know if they're true or not. I thought you might."

Terry O'Neil has posed:
Terry's ear twitches as Donna speaks, and then he nods to Rainmaker, "It's always good to meet a friend of Caitlin's, why don't you make yourself comfortable? I'll get some hot cocoa..."

He glances at Donna, at the mention of disturbing things. Did he need a debriefing? "And some cheese, too," he says, for Kaida's sake. A lot of cheese.

As procures the hot water for the mix, he asks in his most casual voice:

"So.. what's going on with Caitlin?" he says, glancing from Victor to Donna to Caitlin, with a 'should I be worried?' expression.

Donna Troy has posed:
Donna looks up at Kaida with a broad grin. "Don't make me lasso you, Kaida!" she calls out, thus helpfully giving Sarah a name to go with the face. And tail. And whiskers. And general mousiness. She gets up from the table and puts her plate in the sink, before moving back to get a better look at Sarah, leaning against the table, her wine held casually in one hand. "No intrusion, Sarah. You were given that access pass so you could come in, after all. You're welcome any time." She gives Sarah a smile, then glances at Terry as he busies himself with the cocoa.

"Caitlin is... in a strange place," Donna says carefully. "I don't mean lost inside a black hole this time, thankfully. But she's spending all her time at a church, and... I don't know." She glances at Vic and gives a shrug. "You guys saw her message?" she says to the other Titans. "Cait is convinced that we are about to get a visitation from the angels. There is good reason to believe she's right. Caitlin believes this to be a Very Good Thing. Other people tell me it's a Very Bad Thing. Honestly I don't know what to make of it. But I'm worried too."

Donna leans over to Terry and taps him on the shoulder. "Oh, Terry? By the way... you're it."

Victor Stone has posed:
Vic glances over at Kaida on his shoulder. "Now she's just gonna come after me. Thanks." He gestures at Donna's lasso threat. "See?!"

He frowns as he walks over toward the kitchen, to help Terry find cheese and whatever else they might need. "Angels...? We're not talking 'angels coming to help with a baseball game,' I'm guessing? Wrong time of year for it anyway. I mean... yeah, I saw her message, I just figured... I figured she was just busy with holiday stuff, like everyone else."

Kaida Connolly has posed:
"You can try!" Kaida taunts to Donna before turning her gaze to Sarah briefly and then Terry is saying things about food and she is distracted. She races into the kitchen in several blurs before stopping and grinning at Terry (out of tagging reach).

"Variety plate, please!" She then sits on the edge of the counter and peers at Sarah while kicking her feet.

Sarah Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah Rainmaker would give her full attention to Donna with a frown, "That.. Caitlin's always been religious, but.. This sounds far, far beyond.." Caitlin's her friend. Perhaps not the closest one, but is still a friend. "That isn't like how she is normally. Something.." How does one put 'something is wrong' when they don't really have the ability to give it exactly? When she doesn't want to admit to the Titans or to herself that she's lost track enough of her to not know if that's how she's become. Pushing away the sensation for now.
Finally just settling in and putting it.. "Wrong. That's not her." Her tone calm. Not the best way to put it. But the simplest. Watching the dynamic amongst the rest of the Titans in passing, a light smile on her face. "No thank you on anything, I ate on my way here."

Terry O'Neil has posed:
Terry stops in the midst of making a pyramid of variegated cheese for Kaida. He has not yet agreed to the wake, because he got distracted by the news, but that is something that will happen.

"Wait. Cait thinks... angels, what?"

The Cheshire cat frowns, and glances at Sarah, then at Donna, "I didn't check messages while I was away unless they were urgent... so Caitlin thinks..."

He glances at his team-mates with a shocked look. "Wait. Is this because I gave her that pen from a Seraphim? because if it is..."

And then a hand reaches over and taps Vic on the bicep. "Tag, you're it."

Donna Troy has posed:
"She's busy with gathering a festive angel cult around herself, Vic," Donna says. It's very obvious from the sour expression and the fact that she'd word it like that, that Donna is not happy about what is going on. " She takes a sip of her wine and sighs. "Okay. So according to Cait, the Archangel Michael is walking the earth scaring away demons and generally doing good Angel things. According to other people, the Archangel Michael has been murdering petty villains in New York and is now planning to judge humanity, and possibly delete the universe and start again from scratch, sans the curse of free will. I have no idea what to believe."

This is also very much not like Donna. But then it's Caitlin being discussed here. The idea that Caitlin might be in the wrong is not an easy one for Donna to jump aboard with. "There's also the possibility that Caitlin is using some kind of psychic glamor on the worshippers at the church. I... don't really know what's going on to be honest, Sarah."

Victor Stone has posed:
"...Delete the universe? Man, this is /so/ far above my paygrade." Vic's joking. Mostly. I mean, they're Titans, they deal with this stuff all the time. But angels? That's... a lot.

He's 'it' now. This is going to take some thinking about. How to get over to... ah-/ha/.

Vic grabs a couple mugs of hot cocoa and takes them to hand out to people. As he passes Donna, he casually taps her with his elbow--assuming, of course, she doesn't notice his gambit and avoid him. "Tag," he says, regardless.

"Okay, so... why isn't Caitlin here telling us about this, then? I mean, I don't know who else you're talking but... Cait wouldn't just up and..." He frowns, thoughtfully. If Donna's worried about it...? "Man, I dunno. Psychic glamour? That /really/ doesn't sound like Cait."

Kaida Connolly has posed:
"Hey, the universe is where I keep all my stuff!" Kaida hops up and puts her hands on her hips. She looks in the direction of Caitlin's room and then back to Donna before huffing.

"Alright, where is this Michael at right now? I'll have to go have a real talk to him about messin' with my friends and universe." She disappears in a blur for a moment to eat a full 4 pieces of cheese before she is standing where she was again. She chews and swallows down 2 puffed cheeks of cheese.

"If I gotta cut off some angel toes, I will!"

Sarah Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah Rainmaker's eye would twitch some. Then again. Then stop as she would resist the urge to snap at Donna, whom was being very hospitable to someone barging in. "That is definitely not Caitlin. She would never press things on others." Rainmaker's eyes would glow with electricity, the grounding gauntlets on her wrists doing the same as a charge would build up until force of will would stop the sparking, some ozone coming from them.
"She is out of her right mind. She would never, ever do that of her own free will. I don't care what's going on. She's being manipulated, tricked, forced.." She would nod firmly over at Victor.
"Her mind's being controlled, she's under a geass, someone has done -something- to her." She's holding herself back from snapping. These people are Fairchild's friends, and she hasn't exactly been that herself these last few years. But still, how could they not.. She would take a breath. Remonstrations later.
"We have to help her. Initial thoughts; go to the church and confront Fairchild. Nonstarter. Confrontation only made her dig her feet in. Try and convince her? Also nonstarter. Too stubborn. Talk to Caitlin herself? Meaningless. There was no real reason that Fairchild would listen to her over people who actually cared bout her. The part of her that had been trained by members of Team 7, that had been on the run from pursuit.. That part would be the threads that she would cling to so she wouldn't collapse. That she wouldn't lash. Focus made her able to deny all that. The part of her that worried day in and day out what would happen if her 'family' came after her.
The camraderie by the Titans bringing a smile to her face, her forcing her mood to dissipate. "I'm sorry for being aggressive with you all."

Donna Troy has posed:
Donna does indeed notice Vic's gambit, and indeed anticipate it, but she does not attempt to avoid him. Instead she simply shifts in her seat a little when he makes his approach so she can get a better angle on Kaida. The moment she feels the contact from Vic's elbow, her hand darts out with the speed that can catch bullets on her bracers, another blur of motion to match Kaida's own and tag her in turn while she's busy swallowing cheekfulls of cheese.

"I wouldn't bet she was being forced into doing anything she doesn't want to do," Donna says to Sarah. "But I wouldn't count out the possibility that she is being manipulated. And I'm not sure she /realizes/ what she's doing. I don't think she would be intentionally using a psychic glamor on people, but it may be that one has been cast on her to simply make what she says seem much more convincing."

She gives a quick shake of her head. "No. I'm not even sure the glamor thing is true. It's what I've been told by someone who would probably be able to tell, and I'm convinced he believes it to be true. That's not the same as knowing it's true."

"So it might be that Cait is hearing things that she really wants to hear, and going along with what she believes is the right and good thing to do in the circumstances, unaware she is being manipulated. Or it might be she's right. We just don't know. Checking whether the psychic glamor thing is real is probably the first step we should take. And if it is... asking her if she's aware of it."

Terry O'Neil has posed:
"If we're talking about /actual/ angels..." Vorpal glances at Donna, "This is going to be a problem. Remember- I trip fucking balls anytime I am exposed to anything significantly holy, so if Caitlin is really actually getting Holier Than Thou..."

He narrows his eyes, "But we can't have a murder angel going around thinking he can just end free will, however. I am full on behind cutting angel toes, but this /is/ an Archangel we're supposedly talking about."

And then, he pauses, and sighs.

"There is one way we can know for sure. Send me to the church and have someone capable of carrying me out. If I suddenly act like I've just dived into a Scrooge McDuck-sized moneybin full of catnip, we'll know Caitlin is indeed getting pumped full of angel juice."

Victor Stone has posed:
Success! Sort of. Donna's tag goes right to Kaida, but given that Vic had briefly pondered trying to catch Kaida while she was busy eating? He'll count this as a win.

"It's alright," he says to Sarah. "You're worried, we're worried... but Donna's right. We should talk to Cait," he agrees firmly. "Even if she won't listen, even if she /can't/ listen... she's a Titan, and our friend, and we owe it to her, to give her the chance to explain herself."

He eyes Terry for a moment. Then, "...You know that's actually a really good idea."

Kaida Connolly has posed:
And then Kaida is under attack! She actually moves with some incredible alacrity but she just can't move that fast while eating so ends up leaping back and up like a spring only for the finger to hit her. She twists in the air and hits the ceiling before suddenly shooting off to try to land on Terry's head.

"Tag." She states as she lands before shooting off into the pile of cheese and disappearing under it.

Sarah Rainmaker has posed:
There are plenty of ways to make someone believe what they want is true. That what they think is true. That something is the total truth. One doesn't need mind control, hypnosis, or magic for it. Just conditioning. But Sarah Rainmaker keeps her lips shut. The others are the ones that would have some idea on this. And how to stop it if so. Or that Caitlin might even be in some sort of right mind for this. She tries to think of what to contribute..
Then look at Terry, "In that event, how do they stop you if that has you get aggressive with the rest of the team?" The simple part that comes to immediate mind.
But talk to Caitlin, good start. Figure out what's wrong then carry her out of it. And.. Not charge in and make things worse. The smile going up on her face again. A little less forced.

Donna Troy has posed:
"I don't think Terry getting high will tell us a whole lot to be honest," Donna says. "I mean if Caitlin's radiating angelic power or if there is angelic power just hanging around a bit because an archangel has been visiting the church, it's probably going to have about the same impact on him. Unless we can actually get Cait to leave the church to run the test, the results will be invalid."

T"I'd prefer to try to get a read on the psychic thing. Normally I'd ask Rae to handle this, but I'm inclined to avoid that in this situation. So... that makes Kian the obvious choice." She breaks into a sudden smirk, and shakes her head before taking another sip of her wine. "I'm not quite sure what impact we'll have taking a man with wings into a church filled with people who believe the arrival of angels is imminent, though. That could make things complicated, if less dramatically complicated than potentially triggering a Battle Royale between Trigon and Michael."

She takes another sip of wine and sighs softly. "No. I think at the moment the thing we need to be doing as far as Caitlin is concerned is to help her see that things /might/ not be the way she thinks they are, not that they /aren't/ the way she thinks they are. Because we don't /know/. And... because she's Caitlin. She can be a little naive sometimes, but we all know her -- she's a good person. She will always do what's right. If we can get through to her the possibility that she's being manipulated, then... she will see it if it comes. And if it doesn't come, and she isn't being manipulated, and she's right about all this... we won't be taking this away from our friend."

Terry O'Neil has posed:
Vorpal hops up and sits on the kitchen counter. "I don't get aggressive when I get high, Sarah. I either break out into musical numbers, cause musical numbers, create massive illusions, or have the urge to kiss cute guys. Since this will be a church, there will likely be no cute guys, and the rest--- well, considering how dreadfully boring churches are, this one might benefit from a musical number."

He purses his lips and lets Kaida ravage the cheese in peace. He is it now. But he doesn't seem to do anything about it. For now.

"I can bring Kian in and hide his wings with my illusions. I'll check with him about it- you know how his people are. Hiding his wings might be seen as an act of blasphemy.":

Victor Stone has posed:
"I hear the acoustics in Saint Pat's are amazing," Vic says with a grin. "I could provide you with a laser show?" A pause, then, "Nah, if we're trying to deal with this quietly... don't need to bring the chrome along. But maybe I'll send a drone to record stuff? Or Nadia could. We've been working on some theories about magic, and I think getting a bead on 'holy' might be a good idea."

Sarah Rainmaker has posed:
This conversation is things that Sarah Rainmaker doesn't nkow. Which means that it's strategizing based upon available assets which she isn't familiar with. Which means to listen. Glancing at Vorpal and then would smile, "That sounds like a very unique physiological reaction to those circumstances. I hope to see them sometime in a.. Less dangerous eventuality." The girl's tone would be quieter now as she would make herself smile.
nodding at Donna at the talk about 'battle royal' and 'Rae' and.. Deciding that from what she had read in the files that was definitely, definitely the thing to defer on. The look in her face completely priceless and readable. But Caitlin's friends have a plan. That's more than she has. "I'll do whatever I can to help. Just.. Let me know what part I can play." Or not; well aware she might get in the way as an unknown factor.
"We.." Not sure if to include herself with the group or not.. "Should research the.. Group that she's.. An adherent of to see if there's anything useful. Theology always has inherent contradictions within. Caitlin is extremely analytical. Bringing up numerous elements of that will kick her.. Logic in."

Donna Troy has posed:
Donna nods her head to Sarah. "Honestly, I think the group she's in isn't the issue. It's the same as it ever was, the Catholic Church. The priest there... she's talked to me about him quite a lot. Father Pat. There was a time when Caitlin was almost ready to walk away from the church because some of the things she was hearing just didn't fit with the world as she was getting to know it. Father Pat changed that. I mean for a start he didn't disapprove of her going to visit me on Themyscira, with all my sinful pagan ways. From everything she's told me he's a thoughtful, open minded man. "

"We're not going to find any inherent contradictions that aren't inherent contradictions in Catholicism, and she's already had to face those. But there may be inherent contradictions in the story that she has been told by this Archangel, and I agree that's something we should be working on. Highlighting to her the things she should be looking out for, if the story is true that the angels are up to no good."

Donna downs the rest of her wine with a swig and takes the glass over to the sink. "She's not going to take anyone's word over Michael's, unless Jesus or God speaks to her directly. But we could remind her that the possibility exists that Michael may not be living up to his reputation. She will give him a lot of credence because as far as she is concerned, Michael is God's right hand. I think it wouldn't hurt to remind her that she also believes that once, long ago, Lucifer was God's right hand."

Terry O'Neil has posed:
"Angels can fall," Vorpal agrees, sipping his hot cocoa, "Which is funny because angels aren't /supposed/ to have free will. That was the whole hullaballoo about- about angels serving man who had free will, and they didn't. But didn't they /need/ free will to rebel, as they did? Oy vey. This is why I don't believe in gods."

A sip of his cocoa. "I mean. I know they exist. I just don't believe in them because it encourages them. But the whole Judeo-Christian side of things gives me the rashes." He turns to Sarah, to explain. "I grew up going to a Catholic high school. You can imagine the /wonders/ it did to a closeted gay boy. Caitlin did change my view about some Christians... but the church?" He shudders.

"I still want to hork a hairball every time I see a nun. And... even if this Michael /is/ supposedly living up to his reputation... eliminating free will? Hell no. Call me Lucifer, because I'd totally rebel against any god ordering /that/ to happen."

Victor Stone has posed:
"I'm on your side on this, Terry, but... how do we even know that's the play? Isn't Michael coming back supposed to be like... I mean, End Times type stuff, but meant to be casting out sinners or healing the world?" Vic shrugs. "I dunno, I never paid much attention in Sunday School."

He looks to Donna, settling down in a chair with his hot cocoa. "But... really, where's this information even coming from? 'Cause yeah, I'm with Terry--if some winged guy is going to come around and tell us that we can't make our own decisions anymore I'm gonna have a problem. But how do we know this isn't... more magical weirdness? Or whatever Caitlin actually /says/ it is?"

Sarah Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah Rainmaker would give a nod to Terry, "I'm sorry for what you've gone through and.. I'm glad that you've found a meaning of spirituality." The comment comes by rote and automatic, her tone sincere even with her mind elsewhere. Mind sorting through comments made by Donna and closing her eyes. Research. Which is what she'd ordinarily have asked.. Nevermind.
"I'll do anything I can to help. I've.. Abandoned her before and only paid attention to when things were bad for her." Sarah would speak honestly. "And I have to do better by her. So please let me know anything I can do. Or that I shouldn't." Well aware that intervention, no matter how well intentioned, could make things go worse. So to not overstep.
"I.. Need a place to stay. I don't want to impose on you so do you know if there's an apartment somewhere I could get for a month or so?"

Donna Troy has posed:
"We don't, Vic. W don't know what it is." She heads back to stand closer to the group, taking up a position close to Vic and resting a sisterly hand on his shoulder. "That's the problem. She /might/ be right about all this. But we're getting a bunch of noise from mystical sources that she's not. Primarily from the Justice League Dark lot. "

She tilts her head in Vorpal's direction. "And keep in mind that from what limited information I've heard, we have no reason to believe that Michael is following anyone's orders here, so you might be rebelling against the wrong being here."

Donna lets out another sigh. "I'll be honest with you all. Normally I'd be inclined to trust Cait's judgement, but one of the Justice League Dark guys has told me... and I'm sure he isn't lying... that he has had word from the Egyptian goddess Neith that she is not happy with Michael's plan. If that's true, if that's really what she thinks... Neith is an aspect of Gaia. And if Gaia is against something, you can be sure it's not something that is good for humanity. I... I don't know what to do yet. About any of this. Apart from talking to Caitlin, and remembering she is our /friend/."

She pulls out her T-Com, opens it and taps away at the screen for a few moments. "Well. At least one thing we can fix nice and easily. Sarah, you've got a guest room here at the tower now. It's keyed in to your guest com. Stay as long as you need."

Terry O'Neil has posed:
"Donna, /I'm/ part of the Justice League Dark, you know." A brief pause, "Even if I'm, like, the mascot. I know those guys... you usually can trust them. Donna... think about the time I got taken over by Chaos and tried to murder whom I thought was Gar's murderer? I was your friend, and Diana's friend, but I was out of my fucking mind and she had to give me a hard one across the chin before I came to my senses. A friend is someone who, when they go all totally stupid, will be incredibly grateful for getting some sense smacked into them."

"And hey. If all else fails, I can just try to seduce the angel," he says. This is clearly a joke to lighten things up. Or is it?

He takes a sip of his cocoa.

Victor Stone has posed:
Vic chokes on his cocoa and stares at Terry, then bursts out laughing. "Oh... that I almost want to see. I mean, not really. But almost." He shakes his head.

"I say we give Cait a chance to explain her side of things, and then if she /is/ all high on angel juice and Order--that makes sense, right, if it affects Terry so much, that it's all super-ordered?--Donna can definitely give her a hard one across the chin."

He grins at Sarah. "Welcome to the Tower. And it's nice to meet you. Any friend of Cait's, and all that."

Sarah Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah Rainmaker would smile at Donna, "Thank you. I appreciate that. But you don't have to." The back and forth dynamics of the team made Sarah smile. "Thank you." There's a wistful look in her eyes indicative of something that might have been or oculd have been. But too late now on things. Glancing at Terry and just evaluating the discussion. Having an amused look that would take over and banish the wistfulness.

Then.. 'Out of my mind' and her face goes blank for a moment as she would force herself to be outwardly calm. And it would mostly work. And be disguised by he rlook of complete amusement at 'seduce the angel'. Hand going up to shake Victor's hand.

Donna Troy has posed:
"You're a friend of Caitlin's, you're a friend of ours," Donna says to Sarah with a smile. "You'll have access to the training facilities here, as well as the living quarters, but please don't try to enter any of the labs or evidence rooms without a full member being with you. It'll set off security. If you need any furnishings that aren't already in the guest room, let me know and I'll fix something up."

T"Terry, I was there at the founding meeting of JLD," Donna says, smirking a while. "I do remember you being in attendance. As I recall, you turned up to the meeting covered in sausages and mustard, pursued by a pack of hounds. You're not their mascot, you're their court jester."

And this, if nothing else, might give Sarah some idea of why Vorpal is being proposed as a canary in the coal mine for the power of Order. He is indeed Chaos personified.

Terry O'Neil has posed:
Vorpal crosses his arms and gives Donna a very feline glare. "I seem to recall you being covered in glitter several times, Troia. Do not tempt fate. One never knows when a freak glitter storm will fall upon us. The weather has been /weird./"

He takes a sip of his cocoa, "Besides. Court Jesters speak truth to power. I have cat power. I'm a fricking ThunderCat and you'll miss me when I'm gone!" He slides off the counter and grins at Sarah. "Want me to show you the rooms? You can pick any of the free ones. Just not the ones across from Raven. Sometimes at night, you can hear this muffled 'Alalalallalaaa' coming from there. Some say it is spirits!" he casts a mischievous glance at Donna as he passes her to get to Sarah, and then a Rabbit Hole opens, enough to let an index finger through to tap her between the shoulderblades.

"Tag. You're it!"

Sarah Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah Rainmaker would smile, "I'm glad that Caitlin's found a home and friends here. That means.." The world? No, that's not her place to say or speak of. Sarah would continue to be reserved. Just how the girl was keeping a straight face to this meant she had ridiculous acting skills, she was completely unemotive..
Or whatever her life experiences were were on par with this so her standards could accomodate it without mental breakdown. Watching in a mellow tone before going..
"So that's the plan? We try and annoy Caitlin into ignoring Michael and the voices telling her to do things purely so she can try and go on a rampage?" Not the worst plan. Turning her back to the group to wipe away a tear with a sniffle that was in a motion o 'it never happened' and then a small voice going 'Grunge' with an impossible to miss 'you idiot' turn of phrase.
Of course, this has her not paying attention to when Terry is going to leap at Donna, which has her tumbling awa with a squawk and a quick burst of wind underneath her body to help her tumble backwards and out of the way..

Victor Stone has posed:
Vic has to cough, so much, because half of what Terry said there was... wow. Just. Wow. He actually spilled some cocoa, so he's trying to clean it up when Sarah goes tumbling, and he looks up from cleaning off his chrome with wide eyes.

Then he looks over at Donna. "Hey," he says, "things are gonna work out, one way or another. We're Titans, right? Whatever's going on, we're gonna help Cait, and save the world--and I think Sarah here is gonna fit right in around here."

Donna Troy has posed:
Donna turns a withering stare on Terry and holds it for a few moments. "Sausages. Mustard. And dogs. So many dogs. Batman had to rescue you from the dogs," she says before turning away from him again.

She frowns slightly and gives a small shake of her head, as if trying to dislodge some thought. "Look, everyone. Let's not forget that Caitlin is... Caitlin. She's not the enemy, and I doubt very much she is actually under some kind of compulsion. I think this is just a matter of... differing world views. Yes, we need to talk to her. But let's not forget we nee to /listen/ to her as well." She whips an arm out, impressively fast to catch Sarah and steady her, but this motion doesn't seem to distract her from what she's saying, it's almost like she's doing it on automatic.

Donna gives Sarah a smile as she checks she's upright and not about to tumble any further, then turns to look back at the other. "Let's not forget that. She's our /friend/. We want to make her listen to our concerns, and make sure her eyes are open to the possibilities. But let's not forget that we owe her our understanding too. And we do not know she's not the one who has the right of it here. Okay?"

She turns to give a grin to Vic, and nods her head. "Vic has it right. We're the Titans. This is what we do. Sarah, you're close to her, and that right now is probably more useful than anything else. We're all her friends. If we go to her because of that fact, if we show her we are concerned and that we only want to make sure she's safe and that she isn't being lead astray to do things she'll regret -- well that's a lot more likely to be productive that going there to tell her she's an idiot, yeah?"

Donna heads back around the table into the kitchen area to fix herself one of the cocoas that other people are enjoying. "Okay. Vorp, help her get settled in. And Sarah, if he offers to give you the tour and there is any mention of Carol Channing, or glitter, or anything else -- he's Vorpal. It's generally best not to believe him. Welcome to Titans Tower, it's always like this around here, but you get used to it."

She looks back over her shoulder at Sarah. "Oh... and you're 'it' now, by the way."
