Synopsis: Cael goes back to find a survivor at the explosion site, while at the same time Alis tries to work out where Witchblade is and how to get to her.
Cast of Characters: Cael Becker, Sara Pezzini

Cael Becker has posed:
As Cael is deposited safely on the ground, the first thing she does is to call out to her sister - sit Sam blasting off to check for other dangers, and to try to find the Witchblade himself. "Alis!" Even as she's calling, she's jogging back towards the ruins of the warehouse. Was there a clue there? Were any of the men alive? Would they know anything? "Alis! Where's Witchblade?" she asks in an urgent voice, without breaking her stride, her features pinched into anxious lines.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Even as Cael is calling for her, Alis pops into existence beside her sister already jogging. She was reaching out, trying to find that connection that she knew she could jump to.

"I can't feel her!" she answers, trying harder. "Yet... I can. It's /really/ weird Cael, it's like... there's two of her and none of her, at the same time..."

Cael Becker has posed:
What the hell does that mean? Cael glances aside at her sister, frustration and worry showing on her features. No one is immortal. No one is invulnerable. Anyone can be killed. She tries to ignore the cold pit of fear in her stomach - there isn't time or room for that nonsense now. "So - you can't jump to her? You can't communicate with her? Nothing?" she asks. Then how do they track her? "Can you tell if she's hurt, or - what can you tell?" It isn't a long jog to the destroyed building - and she pulls her gun free again, incase there were more of the mooks somewhere - who'd escaped, or who were drawn in by the destruction of their base.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Once they stop jogging, Alis takes a moment to stand perfectly still then reaches out with all her will. The link was there, a thin line that she could follow out from her location, and then it wasn't... and then it was back again. Taking a deep breath, not that she needed to, she held that air in her lungs, or what passed for lungs in her solid form and touched the line when it appeared.

"YEOUCH!" she yelps and falls backwards onto her butt. "Wrong one, that was the wrong one... ow, ow, ow." There's nothing to rub to make it feel better, it was an effect that hit all of her at once.

Cael Becker has posed:
Cael goes from watching for danger, and scouring the wreckage for survivors - to giving her sister a worried, anxious look. "Alis?" What just happened? Alis was //dead// - things weren't supposed to be able to hurt her! (Sure, she knew that wasn't entirely true - but it was certainly what she wanted to believe...) "You okay?" she asks for confirmation, before adding, "So you can- you're sensing the //real// Witchblade, and the copy?" she asks. "And you can't tell which is which. And they both keep.... disappearing?" How? //Why//?

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Picking herself up, Alis brushes her butt off. It wasn't really pain, at least not pain the way a living being would feel it. There was no way she could explain the sensation other than using the word pain, but it wasn't important right now. It has passed, she was fine, moving on to finding Sara.

"Yes, that's exactly it," she says, looking toward the burning building. "I can feel both of them, one stronger than the other, but they are both there... which is /really/ messed up."

She paces a small circle, once again reaching out but this time not touching... not yet. "I think there is some kind of... wall? It's trying to block them both, but it doesn't fully work... oh, oh! Like... a barrier meant to block scrying! I think that's it! But what I do isn't scrying, it's a physical connection... so sometimes it works, sometimes not!"

Looking back to Cael she seems excited to have figured that out. "She's there, she's alive, or I wouldn't feel anything at all. Witchblade has to have his wielder, and they're still connected."

Cael Becker has posed:
"Okay," Cael says - trying to follow this. Trying to make sense of it - what she needs is //Jon.// This is more his area of expertise, not her. "So - if just trying to 'touch' the connection hurts you - I imagine trying to jump to the wrong connection could go... really, really poorly." She takes a deep breath, letting it out slowly before she asks. "And do we even know if - if we can figure out a way to safely jump to her - if you could get back to me afterwards? I mean - it could trap you there... right? Once you're inside the... well. The anti scry bubble thing."

Sara Pezzini has posed:
The crackling fire of the burning building was slowly getting louder as the remaining timbers caught, ensuring total destruction. Cael's careful look would reveal that there were a couple of the guards still laying on the ground, whether they were still alive was another matter entirely.

"I'm starting to sort out the difference between the two," Alis says quietly, chewing at her bottom lip as she concentrated. "One is /way/ darker than the other, there's something seriously wrong with it... the other is... familiar, warm, definitely Witchblade and Sara."

The sound of sirens can be heard in the distance, someone apparently having called the fire department. Five, maybe ten minutes would likely see the trucks arrive.

"The thing is, I don't think anything can really keep me out," Alis then says, looking toward the sound of the sirens. "And I don't think scrying bubbles can keep me in. They're meant to block magical eyes from looking, not ghosts from popping in. I'm willing to try, once I'm sure I tell which is which."

Cael Becker has posed:
"Alright," Cael agrees. "Whatever this is - whatever they're trying to do - we have to help her. We can't just..." Even as she's talking, Cael approaches the figures on the floor - one hand still holding her weapon, the other hand checking or a pulse, while she watches for signs of breathing. They need at least one of these guys - if they can tell them what's going on...
"But I want you to be sure," she urges her sister, her expression grim, and worried.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
One and only one of them has a pulse, the rest were too close to the blast and didn't survive.

Alis nods firmly as she says, "I know. I won't do anything until I'm doubly sure, but I can tell you she's to the north west, and more than three miles. That part comes almost instantly to me."

Turning she looks toward the road then back to Cael. "You'll have to report on all this, and go with him to the hospital. He'll need to be stabilized and don't forget to warn the EMTs about the possible exploding, like at the museum. I should probably disappear though, I don't have a neat badge like you do and I look like a seventeen year old, but I will be with you the whole time. I won't do /anything/ until I can talk to you again, okay?"

Cael Becker has posed:
Cael puts her arms under the man's shoulders - and starts hauling him away from the heat of the fire, and any potential for further explosions or danger. Once she has him at a safe distance, she looks to her sister - and gives a nod of agreement, and understanding. She doesn't like delaying, but...
Activating her comm, she says into, <<"Wilson? Alis says to check three miles northwest of the site. That's all I've got. We have a survivor - I'm going to accompany him to the hospital to see if he can be revived." Not that he's likely to give any intel - but she had to try.
    <<"Stay safe.">>
