Animals Need rescuing too.
Date of Scene: 06 January 2022
Location: Central Park Zoo
Synopsis: Huzzah! Friends are made, animals are saved, a zoo renovation is promised and no seals, polar bears or birds were harmed in the making of this scene.
Cast of Characters: Reed Richards, Susan Sullivan

Reed Richards has posed:
Old Man Richards stands in the center of the Zoo, next to the seal enclosure, or is it penguins? Which reality is this? and do we have a lion, giraffe and zebra that may accidentally get shipped to Madagascar? Who can say?

But, I digress! The seal and sea lions swim merrily in circles in their acrylic enclosure looking about with mild curiosity at the madness this manegerie has become. Reed is stretched to a height of about twenty feet, waving in the slight wind as he holds four pads in one hand, well, it was a hand, though at the moment it doesn't particularly resemble one and his other hand manipulates a group of screens free floating about him. He is muttering things, under his breath, "Velocity of a flying swallow... I mean the batcave /could/ fit the whale but he would be so upset... no, no, we cant chance sending the space rocks to the white house or the Fortress... that isn't ancient mesoptamian at all, it needs to be recatalogued- focus Reed, focus!"

The park is a hub of activity as the Fantastic Four have set up multiple large scale teleportation hubs shuttling people to pre-determined areas around the tri-state and around the nation. At the center of this logistical nightmare is one man. He looks harried and old... I mean he is old but today he looks everyone of those 60 years.

Susan Sullivan has posed:
From ground level, a woman peers up at the stretchy guy. It's not entirely clear how she got in here, but she calls up to him, "Hey!" She looks around before looking back up at him. Her feet leave the ground, and she taps her toes against the pavement. She floats as if in zero gravity toward his eye level. "Hey!" she reiterates once she's gotten to his head. Unlike in true zero gravity, she stops.

Reed Richards has posed:
Old Man Richards blinks, shakes his head and twists it unnaturally around to make eye contact, "Oh! Hello. Have you come to assist?" He scans her trying to place her in his encyclopedic knowledge of heroes and villains, he's met most of them and mentored more than most have met. His lips purse in a comically exaggerated fashion, "I'm sorry, I'm drawing a blank and Herbie is off oveseeing the storing of the Met, Guggenheim and Museum of Natural History, so... who are you? Again I apologize if that seems rude but it's a bit of a day."

Susan Sullivan has posed:
Susan waves. "Hello," she says. "My name's Susan. I'm not sure what you're doing, but I didn't come here specifically for you. I wanted to check on the animals. Their qi is often sick, and they're sad a lot of the time, but they don't deserve to just be abandoned when there's a crisis."

Reed Richards has posed:
Old Man Richards smiles and nods, "Indeed, I agree, which is why I am here as well. I wanted make sure they are all catalogued and prepared for transport. We're moving them into a larger facility in the negative zone, not an ideal arrangement but it will keep them safe during the crisis, several of the zookeepers have volunteered to stay with them and make sure they get fed and taken care for the duration. Hopefully not too long. He regards her quizzically and asks, "You can sense qi and that gives you an insight to the animals health as well as their emotional state? Fascinating." Reed smiles and stretches out towards an area where a group of bots are manipulating a large enclosure, towards one of the exhibits. He indicates she should follow, "Do you have any sort of control over the animals? or communication? I assure you we are trying to help. though I have not been able to convince them of our good intentions. Any suggestions or appreciation would be appreciated."

Susan Sullivan has posed:
Susan looks that direction, then back at Reed. "Not like that," she says, "but if it's alive, I can manipulate its qi and the qi around it. Like telekinesis. If you need something moved, I can move it, even if it's unfriendly."

Reed Richards has posed:
Old Man Richards raises his eyebrows considering the possibilities, "Intriguing, can you sense life and perhaps provide a gentle pressure?" He leaves the bots to their work, aided by a few of the zookeepers and moves towards the bird exhibit. A containment unit has been placed in one corner against a doorway, inside the zookeepers are catching birds by hand and with nets, they look tired and there are still a lot of bird flittering about. Reed smiles to the woman, with a small chuckle, "If you could help us clear this exhibit by ushering the birds into the containment and storage unit that would be wonderful."

Susan Sullivan has posed:
"I've told you the long and short of it," Susan says, shaking her head. "I can make a bird ball and float them somewhere else. I can do it without hurting the birds, but I can't control the birds, at least not with my current skill level. I can practice that later. Right now, this is what I've got," she concludes with a shrug.

Reed Richards has posed:
Old Man Richards looks back towards the seals and nods, "In that case we may have to try this a different way? How many seals could you hold in one ball?" He recedes back to the seal enclosure and pulls a pail of fish from the trainer station, holding it over the pool makes about six of the animals come to attention focused on the possible meal. He points to another similarly shaped container floating in the near by, it is also filled with water but has mechanisms providing for the seal tank to float and move about with an automated pilot. Reed nods to Susan, "Move them one at a time or in groups, whichever is easiest."

Susan Sullivan has posed:
"On it," Susan says. She takes in a rather unnatural-sounding breath, inhaling for a bit longer than she would have otherwise. She falls toward the seals, and they largely ignore her, as the would a rock in their enclosure. However, it's hard to ignore the feeling of falling, and sounds of panicked seals barking begins as they fall up to join Susan in the air. She comforts them, and soon, they're quiet, though trying fruitlessly to swim through the air. Soon surrounded by seals, Susan flows through the air with them. "Sir?" she calls out as loudly as she can manage. "Where am I taking them? Sir?" she calls again, trying to find a stretchy man while babysitting floating seals, some of which are still unhappy about feeling like they're falling all the time.

Reed Richards has posed:
Old Man Richards uses his body as a guide post to the floating enclosure, the seal tank in the air, where the seals will be located until they are shipped to the negative zone for safety, "Right this way, the large tank like shape floating over here. Excellent, thank you, this was most helpful." The ship is large and round, roughly tank shaped with an engine and making a humming sound as it floats a bit inelegantly in the air. There is an automated pilot which is at the moment holding the ship steady.

Susan Sullivan has posed:
Susan sniffs at the air above it, trying not to get caught in engine movements. She looks hesitant as she holds the seals steady. It doesn't look comfortable, but...they'll be safe. She has to do this, or they won't be safe. "Don't be scared," she tells them. "It's only for a little bit." The group of seals collapses in to a seal ball and is gently slid down until they're set in the tank. "Don't make me regret this, mister!" she calls out to Reed.

Reed Richards has posed:
Old Man Richards catches her eye and nods, he smiles wanly, "Mr. Fantastic, I solemnly swear that they will be safe and as happy as any animals can be in captivity, though honestly they are free of predation, which has to be a plus... " Reed considers and shrugs. "If you'd like once this crisis has passed we can meet here and try to make their lives better. I have some ideas and prior to the move back would be a great time to renovate this zoo. Now, do you have time to corral some polar bears or do you somewhere else to be?"

Susan Sullivan has posed:
"Bears," Susan says. "Can't have them going extinct because there's a crisis." She moves about as fast as a human can run under good conditions toward the polar bear enclosure.
