Asking About Angels
Date of Scene: 06 January 2022
Location: Bushwick <Mutant Town>
Synopsis: Monet and Angela talk about fighting angels.
Cast of Characters: Monet St. Croix, Aldrif Odinsdottir

Monet St. Croix has posed:
She's been spending the day helping with evacuation efforts in Bushwack. Of getting supplies out, watching the Brotherhood teleport and fly civilians back and forth.. Now there's a bit of a quiet moment while there are no refugees being prepped, no supplies immediately, and no one about needing watched or directed. That gives Monet some time just to herself. Today she's seen a half demon child, the Sorceror Supreme, and the situation will be getting worse. Far, far worse.
This is an alien feeling to her. Of having no knowledge or idea what to do. She would merely float. Standing still.

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela notes the float but does not know what it denotes. She shrugs mentally and lets it pass, just asking, "You wished to speak with me, Monet?"

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would bow her head over to Angela, "Thank you. I.. Find the coming events disturbing. These sorts of things are.. Foreign to me. I do.." Sh ewould find her words.. "KNow how to fight them. What they are capable of."

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela says, "What coming events are those?" Angela asks, sounding only mildly interested. "Is it to do with the desertion of this city?""

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would nod at Angela, "Yes, sometime soon there will be an invasion of.. What have been referred to at least by my understanding as angels that will be laying seige to the area. And probably something more calamitous."

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
That surprises Angela enough to get a visible reaction from her. Her eyes widen, her lips part, and her right hand strays toward the hilt of her sword. "Angels? How is this possible? Heven is not connected to these realms. Has the curse been shattered?"

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would shake her head, "I do not know many of the details. They are supposedly coming in an.. Asteroid? Heavenly ship? I am not sure. It is expected to make a landing within.. Hours if not days at most. They are supposed to be a great threat."

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
"Where is this asteroid?" Angela demands sharply. "I will meet it, and uncover its nature."

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would point up to the sky, attempting her best estimation of it's coming diretion. She is frowning while doing the math, estimating the speed, trajectory, facing of the earth.. "Forgive my inexactness." Orbital calculations by hand and gesticulation are not the most accurate.

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela follows Monet's gesture, frowning up at the sky. "I do not perceive it. I shall attain more precise directions. Yours are forgiven." Despite her pledge to go find the angels, she doesn't budge from the spot, instead looking back down at Monet. "You are due a return for the information you have given me. What would be an appropriate reward?"

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would close her eyes, "Tell me how to fight them. What they are capable of. How they fight. I do not have sufficient information to evaluate how to defend myself from them or engage them. I will accept your instruction in the matter."

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela takes the question seriously. "I do not know how to answer that question without knowing your capacity. We fly, but so do you. Angels other than myself have wings for flight. We may be faster or stronger than you. I have discovered myself averse to lightning, which may be true of other angels. I am not certain. Why are they attacking this Earth?"

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would shake ehr head, "I do not know. I have heard some things which I do not know if are accurate or are speculation. I heard one say that they wished to take this are and use it to wipe out all life on the planet, or perhaps the universe. I do not know the specifics and I fear that what I can recall would lead us astray. I would presume that they have flight, superior strength.. Likely old ones given they are lead by a.. Seraphim or an Arcahngel?"

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela's frown deepens at the explanation. "Seraphim? Archangels? These words are meaningless to me. Please, tell me more."

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would rub at her temples, "Forgive me.. Very old angels that have been charged with leading battles or.. Inquisitions."

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela folds her arms over her chest, a gesture that is the equivalent of another person flipping a table. Her frown deepens. "We do not call ourselves such things. Perhaps these are words humans have invented to describe us in your legends, or perhaps this is a ruse intended to deceive Earth into thinking angels attack you."

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would grumble, "Quite possibly. Or we are using the incorrect terms for them. Or they are beings not from.. Heven?" She would try to enunciate it as Angela had. "And they are a parallel evolution of the term?"

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela shrugs. "It is possible. I have become acquainted with the lotus theory of creation. I find it unproven but persuasive. Or it may be that the syllables 'an' and 'gel' placed in that specific order are not unique to my people out of all the species which can vocalize. There is much to think on."

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would nod, "OR the limitation of human frame of reference and an overuse of the same phrasing to many different things which to our limited understanding appear similar. So.. If you were fighting your own kind, how would you do it?"

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
"To fight an angel is a serious affair. Every death is a debt incurred, to those to whom the angel's life belonged. I have done so only rarely. However, in such instances when a fight was warranted, I have found stabbing to be sufficiently effective."

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would nod at Angela, "Useful to know. If need be they can still be dismembered or crippled in normal ways." She would consider this over while nodding her head at Angela.

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela thinks about it. "If they are angels, then you will face only women. They will be fierce beyond your understanding of the word. They will pay with their blood for yours if necessary, and sacrifice their own without a second thought to avenge whatever wrong they believe this world has done to them."

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would nod, "Interesting. I have been.. Told, accurately or not that they are being lead by an individual named Michael. Which would make them not.. Angels of your own realm." Thinking of Angela's statement of the angels from 'Heven'. "That makes them to a degree tactically predictable."

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
"Then I see I have given you as much to imagine as you have given me. That is well." Angela broods a moment, looking skyward again.

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would nod, "Yes. I presume that you will be going hunting as soon as you have found where they will be landing then to see what type they are for yourself?"

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela nods. "I may ask for directions first, but I am very fast, and an excellent hunter. I may be able to find my quarry regardless. It would be well to have answers of them. What do you intend to do?"

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would shake her head, "I do not know. For now, I aid with ensuring that as many civilians are safe as possible. I know many others will be fighting. I do not know if my presence would be of benefit or a liability given my lack of training against such things. If I may be of aid.. I will do what I can even if simply helping others avoid being in the crossfire."

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela nods. "You must determine for yourself what your best purpose is. If there is nothing more, I shall take my leave, and find those who would call themselves angels to learn what they are about."

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would nod, "I wish you good luck no matter your course of action. Be well, and may your enemies fall beneath your blades if it comes to that."
