Bringing the Blue
Date of Scene: 08 January 2022
Location: Midtown
Synopsis: Singularity goes to join in the Manhattan Resistance to the Angels.
Cast of Characters: Jonathan Sims, Singularity
Tinyplot: Path of Glory

Jonathan Sims has posed:
It's thanks to the ingenuity and drive of Michael Erickson, aka Red Sentinel, that Grand Central Terminal is able to be used as a bunker of sorts for the resistance against the Armies of the Host. The Main Concourse doesn't have as many people as it would on a normal day, but there /are/ people there, and that's where most of the new arrivals come--the grand arched hall, famous in movies and television, is high windows now barricaded.

Jonathan Sims has just come out of the little office off of the Main Concourse where he spends an hour each day now calling up the families of those who've died. He stops and looks around, running a hand through his hair, to see if any of the new arrivals stand out. He's trying to meet people, but... there's a lot going on.

Singularity has posed:
There are places where supplies are being brought in from. Perhaps where people are being evacuated out sa they need to be as well. Over in one of these areas there is a flash of blue. Yes, bright, periwinkle blue. Singularity would appear - a feminine figure composed of stars, flickering galaxies, and body sparkling with suns all over her. Along with a series of large crates which had been boxed up. As she would arrive with them, she would look about, wide-starred in the eyes, at the place that had been built up. Then teleporting up and on top of one of the crates, "Excuse me, where do I take these?" she would offer merrily and in an upbeat tone that seemed at odds with the circumstances.

Jonathan Sims has posed:
Jon notices the flash of blue, standing out to mystical Sight, and he peers over at the odd figure for a moment. His eyebrows raise, and then he walks over to look up at the figure atop the crates. "Ahh... hello. Are you helping with the supply runs? I think... that's ordinance? It goes in Concourse D, I want to say, but..."

He tilts his head. "Sorry, have we met? Ahh, I'm Dr. Jonathan Sims, I'm sort of... well. In charge, I suppose? And I think I would have noticed you around."

Singularity has posed:
There's another flicker from Singularity, "Thank you." There's a flash as she would teleport around a few places, figuring out where Jon was referring to, then teleporting back over to hte crates, teleporting them where they needed to be, then teleporting back.
"Hello! Nice to meet you. I am Singularity!" She would hover a few inches up in midair, bobbling up and down in it. "I want to help."

Jonathan Sims has posed:
Jon watches this, peering off into the distances as the crates get teleported, well... outside, to a train platform, though it can be seen through the windows. Then when Singularity pops back in he eyes her for a long moment.

"Yes, I can see that. You're a teleporter, that's useful. Are you with any particular group...? Or just... on your own?" A pause. "Are... are you a mutant? Or an alien? Not that I judge," he says hastily, "I'm just looking for information."

Singularity has posed:
Singularity would go to teleport a little bit closer to Jon, as soon as he had indicated it was okay for her to come closer, and float a little higher; mostly to make sure she was at eye level. Then she would be still despite floating, without any of the bobbling that someone hovering might have, like she was standing on the ground a few inches higher.
"I am a Singularity." She would offer, trying to put into words which were hard ones. "I am.. Not from this universe." Another hard thing to put for her, and one that despite experience was always difficult to talk about. "I am.. On my own. I wish to help the heroes the way they have me."

Singularity has posed:
Singularity's body would twirl over with stars rapidly shining, spinnings of miniature galaxies upon her, black holes and stars turning to nova, dancing around with small dots of planets orbitting them.

Jonathan Sims has posed:
"Not from this... universe?" Jon leans in to peer at her for a longer moment... and then pulls back, blinking. "Oh. Oh good lord," he whispers. "Uhm... yes. Yes, I can see... that."

He has /no/ idea what to make of the galaxies and stars and black holes but it's... a lot, clearly, to his eyes.

"How have the heroes... helped you? Do you... is there anyone you know...?" 'On my own' seems to tug right at his heartstrings.

Singularity has posed:
Singularity would just look at Jon in an incredibly cheerful and bright way. The anthropomorphized sentient pocket dimension would just smile with the naive and endearingness of a child. "The heroes of this world inspired me to come and try and help make it a better place."
Words surer than others would be. This was what had made her. What had driven her. Inspiration by the heroes.
"I am not alone. I have my friends here that help me."

Jonathan Sims has posed:
"Oh!" Jon perks up a bit. "Good, good. Well... then... who are your friends? And how can you help... well, obviously you teleport, that's /quite/ helpful. Can you portal people along with you?" He knows some portalers who can't, after all. "And... is there anything else you can do?"

Singularity has posed:
Singularity would nod, "Yes, I can take those around me and things with me almost anywhere, so long as I know where it is. I can track my friends very far." She doesn't quite have the words for 'track my friends into other dimensions' or 'teleport to other dimensions' so those are left unsaid.

Jonathan Sims has posed:
Jon nods a few times. "Well, then... I'll direct you to the portal teams, the, uhh, operations people. We'll be glad of the help; portaling helps get around the fact that we're stuck on an island. Hopefully they can be your... friends?"

He considers her for a long moment. She looks... odd, to his eyes, but she seems genuine. And he supposes an angel would be more obviously holy.

Singularity has posed:
Singularity would nod, "Yes, I hope that they can be friends. I understand if they do not wish to. The time is dangerous and such things might be distracting or distressing, and I do not wish to be a bother." Her tone is very cheerful and upbeat. The stars that made up her body would flash and spin more brightly, akin to an emotional resonance of happiness at being able to help people.

Jonathan Sims has posed:
Jon nods. "Right, then. Excellent. Well... Singularity, was it? Is that your... name? Let me get you set up with the operations people so they know you're here to help." He gestures for her to follow him further into the complex
