Ouch and other words of pain.
Date of Scene: 14 January 2022
Location: Grand Central Station
Synopsis: After Battery Park, Sara goes to Grand Central Station and Cael helps her with her injuries.
Cast of Characters: Sara Pezzini, Cael Becker
Tinyplot: Path of Glory

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Stepping through the purplish portal that opened up in the station, Sara takes a moment to shake off the sensation of having just been in a park and now is in Grand Central. Teleporting wasn't something she'd done before, by choice. She didn't remember the Rider yoinking her through the portal from the fight with Michael. Looking around at the people and SHIELD agents, she is still wearing most of the armor because anything else would hurt on the blistered skin, mostly naked was much preferred right now.

"Anyone got a bottle of water?" she asks quietly while searching for a chair. It was going to hurt to sit, but that would likely hurt less than standing.

Cael Becker has posed:
Cael wasn't far from where the portal appeared, directing some of the agents and volunteers on what needed to be carried through, and shecking things off on a tablet she carries in one hand. She looks a little drawn and tired - which is no real change given how poorly she's been sleeping, and the flames drawn on the back of her hands remain evident, though slightly faded from being through several hand washes throughout the day.
As Sara steps through, one of the Agents pulls a waterbottle from their waist, and offers it to Sara. It's only after Cael sends the last of the supplies through that she's able to aproach the woman, concern on her features.
"How did it go? Are you alright?" she asks. "We could go to the medics - Martin's there, I think..."

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Opening the bottle of water as she sits in a chair, never mind it might be someone elses chair, Sara downs half the water in the bottle before she comes up for air. Another deep breath into her lungs and let out slowly, the pain less but still there.

"Cael," she says sounding surprised, then shakes her head. "No, no need for that. Witchblade is healing, it's just slow."

Sitting hurt, standing hurt, now she was trying to find out which was less. "We took the location," she then offers. "Numerous Thrones, and a Seraphim... but we took it. I'll be fine, just have to rest and needed some place to just... sit, or maybe stand."

She stands up then, taking another deep breath and letting it out slowly. "Teleporter was going to get reinforcements brought in to hold it. How are you doing? You look tired."

Cael Becker has posed:
"Would you rather go somewhere private?" Cael asks. She pulls out her phone - she'd gotten a message a few moments earlier. She looks at it - quirks her lips with amusement and types out a quick reply.
"Jon letting me know you'd taken a few hits," she remarks simply. He's got a room set up for Martin and him - with just a pair of cots and such. I don't think they'd mind if we stole it for a bit until you're more yourself," she offers.
Then after a moment of hesitation she offers, "I actually went on a brief trip to Metropolic. I was interviewed by Terry O'Neil for the Daily Planet."

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Blue eyes look around at the people in the area, coming and going, most with a duty in mind and a purpose for where they're going. It was her first time to the station, it seemed to be running pretty smoothly all things considered.

"I'm not invading Jon and Martin's space," she comments as she looks back to Cael. "I'm fine, really... I just need," what did she need? The pain to stop, that's the first thing, but that would take a little more time. The blisters were slowly healing, she could feel that the pain was getting less and less, just not fast enough.

"I should probably just take some codeine and sleep it off. It's cool you got interviewed though, look forward to reading the article."

Cael Becker has posed:
"Yeah," Cael agrees quietly. "His piece on the interview with Michael was- well. I don't think I would have gone to anyone else for the interview after that. Besides, I think it was better being interviewed for print media - though he did take video footage. With my face in shadows so- well. For anonymity. It was a lot, though... going through it all again." She smiles tensely, watching Sara with some concern.
"All the medicines are in medical."

Sara Pezzini has posed:
The last half of the water is downed before Sara looks back to Cael. "I have some Tylenol threes at the apartment, I'll just take a couple of those... I'm not taking something that could aid someone else, when I know I'll heal in time." She offers a tired smile, then sits back down... sitting hurt less.

"When do you think you'll head back to the Triskelion?" She then asks, actually finding comfort in sitting now. "Is the video just for him, to get your report saved in a way he can go back over it?"

Cael Becker has posed:
"Sara... we //resupply// the medical supplies as they get used," Cael points out dryly. "It's literally my job to make sure we don't run out of this stuff. And we have regular shipments of things coming from the Triskelion and other sources. You can take some of the medicines."
Cael watches the portal going back to Battery Park blink out, then turns her attention back to Sara once more. "I could head home in a bit. Most of my work here is done for the night." It means not seeing Jon after the mission - but she caught him a few times over the course of the day.
"I'm honestly not sure if he'll release the video. He released Michael's - but mine would be a little more... raw, and difficult for casual views, I'd think. But I thought - in case any snippets got released, better I can't be recognized."

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Sara nods, her fear of people hearing Cael's voice as she retells what happened seeming to be for nothing. The written word would be different, Terry would like choose carefully how he expressed the pain and suffering, so as not to sent nightmares through the nights of anyone who read it.

Crushing up the plastic bottle with her right hand, she realizes even /that/ took more energy than she really has. "I'm not use..." she begins very quietly, not even sure Cael could hear her, then she clears her throat and shakes her head. Too many people around and she already felt as if they were all staring at her. She wasn't used to this, to being weak and damaged, it was slowly eating away at her confidence the longer she sat there.

"I'll probably go over to the Brooklyn apartment to sleep," she finally says a little louder. "Jon will likely want to check in with you when he's done."

Cael Becker has posed:
"I'm sure he'd like to," Cael agrees, "But... if you need me to take you back to apartment, or the Triskelion... We can talk by phone. I'm seeing more of him now, anyways - now that I'm back to doing something //productive// with my time again."
Not that she'd taken very much of a break, at all. She was impatient, though.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
"Burn cream," Sara finally says quietly, staring at the blisters on her legs. "I'll need some of that, probably should have the slash at least looked at..."

This was so much harder than she ever expected it to be, in the past it was just her and she'd just go home, or the hospital, like when she got shot. "I can't do this," she finally breaths out, more emotion in those four words than she meant to let out. She stands up, looking over at Cael. "I need to get out of here. You stay, I'm sure Johnny will be at the apartment anyway, and you two do not need to be face to face again."

Cael Becker has posed:
"We absolutely don't," Cael agrees. "...but I want to help you, Sara. Look - I can stash you in one of the supply rooms for a bit - no one will go in there. I'll get you some burn cream, and some painkillers - and we'll get you taken care of," she insists calmly but firmly. "Then you decide what your plan is. Alright?" Her tone is firm and encouraging - but she makes no attempt to touch the woman, or her painful looking burns.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Storage room, that would work, and even if someone did come in it would just be one person, not the entire roster of SHIELD agents that Sara was still pretty certain were staring. Cael's tone also seemed to cause a brow to lift, she hadn't heard her be so assertive in a while, so it almost made her smile.

"Alright," she nods. "That was pretty demanding so, that's what we'll do. I don't mind a storage room, a thick layer of burn cream slathered over my entire body, a white sheet to wrap up in, a large pain killers and then a nap. Witchblade /should/ be able to heal me enough in a couple of hours, to get the pain under control."

Cael Becker has posed:
"Alright. Good," Cael says calmly. "...if you want to nap here, I can pull a cot out of storage for you," she offers. "But we can get you a ride back to the apartment, if you'd rather. I mean - it'd be more comfortable."
She holds out a hand to help Sara up - does makes no attempt to touch her, other than to take her hand. She'd lead the way to an office that's been converted into storage - with plenty of sturdy boxes where Sara can wait, and then offers her simply, "I'll just be a few minutes. I'm sure Martin'll know just what I should use."

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Sara takes the offered hand and the help, even though a voice in the back of her brain is screaming. It was alright to let Cael help her, because Cael had let her help, and that's what friends were for.

"The apartment would be more comfortable," she agrees, walking slowly. It was a little better than it had been, but the math was still in favor of screaming, so she just bites her tongue and makes it to the office turned storage.

"Witchblade will remove the armor when it's time to be a mummy," she offers as she sits back down in the storage room. "Or wrapped in a sheet, or whatever it is that's ideal for holding the cream against the blisters that shouldn't even be there and at some point I'm going to have to figure out how the hell it even happened..." she stops, smirking. "Sorry, rambling."

Cael Becker has posed:
"A little rambling's fine," Cael reassures the woman. She gives her a brief smile then adds, "Just be a few minutes."
When she returns it's with the burn cream, some vicodin, another bottle of water, bandaging, and a set of sweats.
"I'll get the harder to reach places," she offers, after handing Sara the pills and water. "Let me know if this is hurting at all." She waits until Sara indicates she's ready - and then starts applying the cream to her back, trying to use gentle, light touches - as much as she can manage, anyways.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
The Vicodin is taken the minute it touches Sara's hand. The pills go in the mouth, the bottle of water is opened and the pills washed down. The clock in her head begins counting down to pain relief, even as she shifts slightly. The armor unwraps back into the gauntlet, then the gauntlet becomes the bracelet, exposing that every inch of her body has blisters.

"It's going to hurt," she breaths out through gritted teeth. "But then the cream starts working and gaaaawds that feels so much better."

Closing her eyes, she takes a little cream herself to smooth on her hands and arms, since she can reach those, then suddenly starts giggling, "Some where, right now... Wade's brain is exploding. This scene... the start of bad lesbian porn Cael."

Cael Becker has posed:
"Yeah, well, Wade can keep fuckin' dreamin'," Cael mutters as she carefully slathers on the cream. "I- I doubt this would lead anywhere if I was in here with //Jon// instead. And I'm actually interested in him," she remarks dryly.
This, she realizes, is going to take a little while. Oh well.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Sara continues to slather in the places she can reach, because it was helping relieve some of the pain the faster it went on.

"You and I should totally fake Wade out some time," she comments, running a splork of the cream over her chest. "That would be entertaining, provided we win of course."

Cael Becker has posed:
"...lead him on, how?" Cael asks in a dubious voice. "I'm... not an actress. Like, at all. //Ever,//" she remarks in a firm voice. "I think pretending to interested in you - no offense meant - would strain everyone's credulity. That's just not.. me."

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Sara laughs, the more cream on the skin the less it hurts, which means the exhaustion is starting to kick in.

"Wow Cael, way to kick a woman when she's down," she giggles. "I know I'm smokin hot, so I won't be all insulted by that."

Standing up so she and Cael can both reach the rest of the places needing burn cream. "I'm only joking of course," she smiles. "I'll just have to find someone else to melt Wade's brain with."

Cael Becker has posed:
"You're a catch, just not for me," Cael replies - getting the back of Sara's tighs as she talks.
"I'm sure we can find someone. I mean... We could ask, uhh...." There's a long, puzzled silence begfore she remrks, "I don't hang out with a lot of women, do I?"

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Sara laughs again, then wraps herself in the sheet to hold the cream against her body.

"No Cael, you don't. You don't hang with anyone, but that's alright, I was only teasing." She pauses there then smiles, "Thank you for your help. I'm going to get a teleport to the apartment and sleep."

Cael Becker has posed:
"Not really," Cael agrees. "Maybe that'll change."
...probably not, though, if she's being honest with herself.
"Text me later, yeah? Feel better," she says encouragingly - starting to reach out for Sara's shoulder, but letting her hand drop. "I'm glad you and Jon are both okay."
With that said - she gives the woman a small smile, and returns to her work - tablet in hand.
