Synopsis: Cael and Alis talk. Alis shares that she believes there is a connection between what happened to Sara a year ago, and her remaining unconscious now.
Cast of Characters: Cael Becker, Sara Pezzini

Cael Becker has posed:
The shower is not a short one, as Cael leans up against the tiles, letting hot water pour of sore, bruised flesh - and one gunshot graze (a fact she'd neglected to bring up to Jon.) She finally emerges wrapped in a bathrobe, heading wordlessly into the kitchen. She heats up a mug of milk, getting out one of the instant packets which she starts to replace in the cupboard - before she pauses, pulling it back down.
"Did you want one too?" she asks, without looking up. She still doesn't really understand the idea of a ghost //drinking// or eating but - hell, Alis has done it on several occassions already, so...

Sara Pezzini has posed:
No, Alis did not watch Cael shower. She lingered around her sister's bedroom, pacing the floor even though she doesn't really need to, debating the information she had. She noticed that the wound wasn't mentioned to Jon, but at this point she was getting used to Cael keeping that sort of thing to herself. She still didn't seem to get that the people who loved and cared about her, deserved to know the whole truth... but then, Sara had issues with that one as well. Must be an issue with the living.

Once they headed into the small kitchen, Alis popped into existence with an eager nod. Things didn't exactly taste as she remembered, they were muted, probably due to being dead, but she could still mostly enjoy them.

"You know it," she then says with a grin. "Cocoa is the best, it's the one thing that still tasted almost like it should."

Getting another mug she sets it on the counter, then heads for the milk so she can warm it up. "So... um... you want some more information before bed, or when you wake up?"

Cael Becker has posed:
"One more cocoa coming right up, then." Cael gets the milk into the microwave, while she starts stirring in her packet of cocoa, her gaze directed down into her cup - right up until Alis's question. She looks up at the teen with a frown creasing her features.
"What do you mean, more information? Do you know anything about why Sara is unconscious?" she asks bluntly, as she continues to stir her drink.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Alis shakes her head while at the same time trying to sort of nod. "I don't think it's the reason she's unconscious, but I think it might be part of it?" She answers, moving to look around in the fridge for whipped cream.

"Witchblade's still conscious," she comments, moving things around to find the can of spray whipped cream. "So whatever it is, effects only her, and yeah... he's pissed about it, but when is he not pissed?"

Walking over to set the can on the counter she leans back against it. "I can't really hear him, I can /feel/ him, if that makes any sense at all. There's no voice, just... intent, emotion, which is kinda freaky cause we're talking about a bracelet here... and right there, that's the thing I wanted to tell you. There's sort of two of him still, but not really, the piece that was missing is back, but hasn't entirely joined with him yet."

Cael Becker has posed:
"The piece that was missing is back," Cael repeats. She's still stirring her drink - unnecessarily at this point, with her eyes locked onto Alis. "So you're saying - that bit of... shithead that latched onto Sara's wrist. That bit used to be part of the Witchblade too, but it got separated into two pieces somehow?"
She ponders this in silence for a moment.
"...what does that have to do with her being unconscious? Can we use that information somehow to wake her up again?" she asks in an uncertain voice - before she notices the milk has begun to boil over the side of the mug. "Oh fuck. ... shit, sorry." She hastily sets down her own mug so she can open the microwave and take out Alis's with a sheepish smile.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Alis gives Cael a light pat on the back, then goes to grab some rags. "It's alright," she offers, stepping in to clean up the milk in the microwave. "You're distracted."

The heat of the milk doesn't effect Alis' hands, allowing her to clean it before it cools off. "What do you remember about what Sara said when she lost that week of memory?" She then asks, glancing toward Cael. "I was still totally unseen when she talked about that, and all I can remember is she said she woke up in the hospital and here memories were messed up."

Cael Becker has posed:
"Fuck, I don't know..." Cael replies a little uncertainly. She starts mixing in Alis's cocoa mix for her while she deals with the spell. "She ended up in the hospital for a few days - lost a bunch of time, but got most of it back. And... one of her friends was helping her look into it. There was some sort of symbol she thought was tied to it? And the Faux-blade was involved somehow. And that pisses Witchblade the fuck off because that's his default."
She picks up her cocoa again, taking a sip before asking, "Why?"

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Alis stirs her cocoa a little more before squirting a lot of the whipped cream into it, making up the space for the missing milk.

"The piece of Witchblade got took," she starts. "She ended up in the hospital. The piece came back, she's back in a hospital. I don't know nearly enough about magic to be absolutely certain, but there definitely has to be some involved here to explain why she's still unconscious. If he's still awake through it, and doesn't seem to know how to wake her, cause you can bet he would have if he could, then there's something else at play here."

Picking up the mug of cocoa, with the spoon still in it, she takes a small sip. "I could uh... possess her and see." She then offers, looking to Cael with a whipped cream moustache.

Cael Becker has posed:
"Isn't there a risk that could harm you?" Cael asks. "And it might not reveal anything useful. I mean, how much do we really know about this possession thing? I mean... she woke up on her own after she lost her memories. She woke up on her own after she got zapped by that weird ward. She'll wake up on her own this time, too. And SHIELD is calling in some experts to see what's going on."
After another sip, she pulls a shot glass out of one of the cupboards, holding it out towards Whisler as she adds, "I could use a sip."

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Alis nods along as Cael tells her all the reasons not to do it. She was worried about Sara, and sure it was likely she would wake up on her own, it was just a matter of when and would the memories be gone again. Still, she had no idea what it would do to her, and Cael still needed her, so it wasn't worth the risk.

Looking up from the second sip Alis licks off her upper lip. "You took the big one," she says quietly. "Are we talking just a dash here? Cause I don't want you to get sick cause you took the big one and had alcohol."

Cael Becker has posed:
"Like I said, just a sip: a spoonful - for the taste. If it wasn't safe, Jon would have put a stop to it." Cael continues to hold the glass out, taking another sip of her cocoa, which she still holds in her left hand. Her hip leans against the counter, her features slightly tense, but calm.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Setting the cocoa on the counter, Alis pulls the pack off to get the flask out of the front pocket. She didn't know Jon had anything to do with it, or that he had allowed it, it must have been something she missed, but then Cael could also be lying. Either way, with the flask removed, she uncaps it and measure out a little into the shot glass before recapping it and putting it back in the pack.

"I'm going to check Sara's journals," she then says as she slips the pack back on. "See if I can find in there how many days she was unconscious before. She notes everything, I think it's from being a detective, but she's not note pads all over and files on her lap top of notes. Maybe I'll find something that will help."

Cael Becker has posed:
"Sure," Cael agrees. "If it's to help her - I'm sure she won't protest." She nods her head towards the living room - dropping onto the couch when she reaches it, and continuing to sip at her cocoa. The whiskey is held untouched as she tries to work her way through the sweet drink.
Bear lifts his head, only to settle it onto Cael's lap. He was stretched out on the couch, taking up most of it rather than deigning to use his doggie bed. The little brat.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Taking her mug with her, Alis follows Cael into the living room. With Bear hogging the couch, she opts to sit on the floor by the couch, putting her back against it.

"I'm not going to dive into anything personal if I can avoid it," she offers, chewing a little at her bottom lip. "Most of the note pads are dated, and the files all have names and dates, and yes I have her password just like I have your password... there's just some things I can't avoid knowing."

Glacing up at Cael she wiggles her brows, "That's right, I can get on your lap top and see all your lack of porn."

Cael Becker has posed:
"Complete and utter lack of porn," Cael confirms with an amused smile. "And my saucy emails with Jon. 'Field Commander Sims, I've put in an order for more of the instant coffee crystals. They're more in demand that I would have expected - what's wrong with people? Anything else you need me to order?' Goodluck reading anything between the lines, there."
After another sip of her cocoa, she finaly takes the barest sip of the whiskey - just enough to wet her tongue, as she holds the taste in her mouth, lingering over it.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Alis giggles, she could totally turn that into porn, but she's not going to.

"Is that true," she asks. "About the instant coffee? Caused that stuff is disgusting, just get real coffee to fucks sake. Tastes better." She pauses there, tilting her head. "Though if we're talking accessibility in emergencies, the crystals are better than nothing and just need warm to hot water... still disgusting though."

Taking another sip of her cocoa she watches Cael takes the sip of the whiskey. "What is it about the flavor of that stuff? Is it comforting?"

Cael Becker has posed:
"That about sums it up," Cael agrees. "It's gross. But maybe going to the canteen is too much a of a bother. I think some of them are taking it out to the checkpoints to have something around with them out there. But... yeah. We went through more of the stuff than I expected. Ugh." She rolls her eyes, then takes another sip of the cocoa.
she doesn't answer Alis's question immediately, as she seems to be putting at least some degree of honest thought into it. "I mean, yeah. It is comforting in a way. Familiar. And it's... I dunno. I don't like being told I //can't// have it. I mean, maybe that's stupid, and petty, and childish but- even if it's just a sip, I'm still in control. I'm making my own choices. And... I just like it, is all."

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Alis listens to Cael's explanation, about the instant coffee and the whiskey. Both made perfect sense to her, but then she was just a dead teenager with no control over anything save who she might possess for a good time.

"I don't think it's petty or childish," she offers, nudging Cael's leg. "I think it's all about what you can and can't control, and let's face it, no one likes being told no, or you can't have that. Won't hear me disagree with you on that, ever."

A playful grin dances across her face, "And no, I'm not just agreeing because I want to get away with something I've been told 'no' to. I actually mean it."

Cael Becker has posed:
"Yeah, well... no driving the C6. You were always a shitty driver, and she's a bit tricky," Cael remarks with an amused quirk to her lips.
After draining the last of the cocoa, she concentrates on savoring her small taste of whiskey, her eyes falling closed as her free hand strokes Bear's ears. "I'm gonna go to bed. Wade's supposed to call me if anything changes - and I told Jon I'd only work a half day tomorrow, so I could give Wade a break to eat, and sleep, and //bathe// or whatever." Sure, Alis probably overhead all that - but it's more polite telling her just to be sure. Right?

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Alis picks up Cael's cocoa mug, as well as her own, preparing to go wash them.

"I'll take Bear out one more time," Alis offers. "Then I'll see what I can find in the journals. You sleep, and I'll be close by just in case."

She fully intends to look through the laptop first, which she will do sitting on the floor in Cael's room while Cael slept.

Cael Becker has posed:
"Thanks, Alis," Cael says sincerely, after swallowing the last of the whiskey. She leans over to give Bear a tight hug, scratching at his shoulders, before giving him a solid pat. "See you in a few minutes, Bear. You're a good boy." The pup's tail thumps on the arm of the chair as Cael climbs to her feet - then retreats to her bed. Bear follows her - then walks towards Alis, then back towards Cael's door, while Cael changes into her night clothes, and lays awake staring up at the ceiling.
Eventually she'd fall asleep - but not until Bear was up on the bed with her, his heavy head resting her side, and his comforting furry warmth to her back.
