Date of Scene: 04 April 2020
Location: Avengers Mansion - Back Yard
Synopsis: Clint teaches Wanda to shoot a bow.
Cast of Characters: Clint Barton, Wanda Maximoff

Clint Barton has posed:
It's a sunny April afternoon, and Clint's set out his targets on the back lawn. That in itself is not unusual but this time he's not alone. He's got a second bow with him and a quiver as well as one Wanda Maximoff.

"Sure you want to try this?" he asks her with a grin, clearly excited to show her how to shoot but checking anyway. "I mean, not going to get offended if you don't but if you do, then, well glad to show you how," he says planting the last target in the ground way back in the yard before jogging back towards Wanda.

Wanda Maximoff has posed:
"Of course I want to try it," Wanda tells him as Clint jogs back to her. "This is as much a part of you as anything there is. It will be like getting to know, and appreciate, another part of you," she says. "Seeing you shoot, knowing how good you are, isn't quite the same as understanding for myself how difficult it is to achieve," she says.

Wanda looks over towards the targets, then back to Clint. "You know, I was going to ask you to do this with me. Before we got together. I kind of thought maybe you'd have to put your arms around me somewhat to show me how to hold the bow," she says with a sheepish smile. "Figured I'd wear some perfume and see if I couldn't get your attention."

She moves over to Clint and slips her arms about his waist to give him a quick hug before letting him go. She's wearing perfume!

Clint Barton has posed:
Clint couldn't argue with that, archery was a part of him, his skills honed by hours of hard work throughout his life. "Makes sense," he admits as he joins her. He's wearing his usual workout gear, sweats and a t-shirt. In this case the t-shirt is fit to the moment declaring: Archery. It's not about being better than everyone else. It's about being better than you used to be. There's a smile when Wanda explains her dastardly plan and when she hugs him he kisses her on the lips. "Well, you already had my attention, I just needed to cut through the bullshit and make a move."

He smells the perfume and smiles. "Definitely would have worked though," he tells her with a grin.

He picks up the bow he'd picked out for Wanda, a plain recurve bow just the right height and draw weight for the Transian woman to cut her teeth on (https://imgur.com/a/G32qKiG). He gives it a once over, making sure it was set up properly before he takes it in both hands and offers it to Wanda. "Alright, this is your bow. You two get acquainted for a few and then we'll begin."

Wanda Maximoff has posed:
Wanda lets go of Clint to let him get the bow. She takes it from him, looking it over and running her hand slowly over the wood surface, and then the string. She gives it a little pull. "Hello. I'm Wanda. I'll be shooting you today. Please don't snap my arm or my wrist, and I'll do my best to take good care of you and even hit the target a few times so your bow friends don't laugh at you," she tells the bow, before looking up to Clint to smile.

"That's how you know she's female. Because she has a bow-friend," Wanda says. She even winces herself. "Ok, that was bad," she admits, moving over to slip an arm around Clint's waist. "Ok, so what do we do?" she asks him, giving him that side hug and then letting to so he can show her.

Clint Barton has posed:
Omg grooooan! Though Clint is laughing, "Wow," he says. "Not sure if I'm okay dating you after a joke like that," he grins at her giving her a nudge with his hips.

It takes a moment for him to focus, well, first I've got one more thing for you," he says pulling a bracer out of a gear bag. "I'll help you get this on, it'll make sure your new girl there keeps her promise about not snapping your wrist or arm," he says and if she lets him he'll put it on for her.

Once that's done, he says, "Okay this is the part you've been waiting for, hold the bow like you're going to try and shoot it and I'll correct your stance."

Wanda Maximoff has posed:
Wanda holds out her hand towards Clint, revealing her bare forearm and watching as he secures it in place. She gives it a tiny tug to see how sturdy it is and then gives a little nod of confirmation. "I am... all ready," she says in her slow, softly accented English as she smiles to Clint.

Wanda looks over the bow and the hand grip makes it easy enough to get her hand at least somewhere near the right spot, if maybe still not perfect. She looks towards the target and extends her arm holding the bow out, straightening her elbow and then reaching out with the other hand to hold the string, though she doesn't have an arrow knocked.

Her form, probably not that great, from her footwork to where her arms are, to... well, Clint can tell!

Clint Barton has posed:
Clint takes great care in putting the bracer on Wanda's arm, obviously enjoying the chance to be close to her, as well as showing her a bit more of his world. "So, we didn't talk much about the trip to Transia last night. When did you want to go?" he asks her as he sinches the straps snugly around her arm.

Once the bracer is in place, Clint steps back and lets Wanda position herself, it's not bad, the general shape was there, but there were a few things that needed adjusting. "Okay, let me help you here," he says coming forward putting his hands on her hips to help shift her stance, nudging her legs with his foot to get the positioning right so her weight was distributed just so then, reaching around her he helps her pull the string back keeping her hand and elbow in-line on the draw hand until he tells her, "Let go," removing his hands to keep it out of the way of the snapping string.

Wanda Maximoff has posed:
Wanda hrms quietly and says, "Whenever there's a good two or three day window that you think you can get away. We don't need to plan too much in advance thankfully, if we're not taking airlines there." She gives him a little smile with a twinkle in her green eyes. Scarlet Witch Travel Agency, avoid the airports.

The auburn-haired woman is mindful of Clint's corrections, shifting herself as he directs to get into the proper position. As he moves closer to make those corrections, her perfume becomes so much more noticeable up close. She's already gone through a period of wearing different ones and asking what he thought of them. So if he was honest, she's now wearing one of them that was among his favorites.

Wanda looks ahead to the target and then releases the string, which twangs forward, snapping against the arm guard Clint gave her.

Clint Barton has posed:
"Got to help bring a couple more people into SHIELD, but after that my schedule's clear," Clint says before leaning in to kiss Wanda's cheek. "You're handy to have around," he teases lightly. "What do you want to show me when we get there?" he asks her, he was showing her his world today, and he was excited to see what she had to show of hers.

Clint can't help but smell the perfume, it's one of the spicy ones he liked with a floral after note. Definitely one of his favourites. "Going to make it hard to teach you, smelling like that," he says with a grin as the string snaps against her bracer. "And see, totally helps make sure your bow doesn't bite you," he says.

He turns away for a second, grabbing an arrow and bringing it up for Wanda. "Ready to try it with an arrow this time?" he asks her.

Wanda Maximoff has posed:
Wanda reaches over not to take the arrow, but to guide Clint back nearer to her. "That was the point," she says in her soft accent, smiling at him and leaning over to brush a gentle kiss to the man's lips once he's near enough.

She keeps it a short one though, taking the proffered arrow. "Well, we can visit the capital, and maybe a few different places I remember. Some good memories. Some, not so much. And maybe go up on the Mountain," she tells him as she eyes the arrow. She looks down it, expecting it will be straight, doubting Hawkeye would make or use any that wasn't, but still doing it just to learn what a proper arrow looks like.

She fits the notch into the string. "So you're already trusting me with a loaded weapon," she says before tsking slightly like she's doubting that choice.

Clint Barton has posed:
Clint returns the kiss with a smile on his lips. "So, any chance you could magic us back in time? Because now I'm sort of disappointed you didn't get to try this move on me back then," he tells her warmly as their lips part.

"Great," Clint says of the intended stops on their tour. "Whatever spots that matter to you, that's what I want to see."

"I think I can risk it," Clint smiles easily kissing Wanda on the shoulder and steps back. "Now draw it back like you did last time and take a shot at that first target." It was just 20 feet away. An easy first try for any beginner.

Wanda Maximoff has posed:
Wanda smiles and tells Clint, "You have far too much willingness to accept magic now. Though I'm glad you had the sense to stop me, well, to stop me," she says, not saying more about how she almost gave up her emotions but for him stopping her. For how long, even she doesn't know.

"I have a few other moves I'll have to try as well then," she says, flashing a look to him playfully before focusing on the target. She draws the string back near to her nose as she sights the target.

She holds it just for a moment or two and then lets it go. The arrow flies through the air across the short distance, hitting the target a little outside of the bullseye ring. Wanda lowers the bow and says in a joking tone, "There. So now I'm ready to jump off buildings and shoot grapple arrows, right?"

Clint Barton has posed:
"Yeah?" Clint says about his accepting of magic, and then he nods, it was true, he had her clear his thoughts last night, and now he was ready to accept teleporting around the world. "Well that thought's going to fester," he says lightly but there is a hint of real concern there. "I won't lie though, once I remembered what you helped me forget last night, I was worried it was all too easy, too tempting to keep asking you to do." He places a hand on her shoulder. "My family, we've not been the best at saying no, so, if I ask too much or start really leaning on your magic to solve all my problems, cut me off, okay? Please?" he asks her earnestly.

Though he hadn't missed the rest and he leans in and kisses her. "I am glad too, and I can definitely get why you did what you did. How are you feeling about things now, by the way. I should have asked more."

The shot though brings Clint out of those darker thoughts and brings a smile to his lips with it as well. "Oh totally, I think I can happily retire from the Avengers and let you be their arrow guy," he says with a warm laugh, before he declares it "Beginner's luck, do it two more times then I'll give up my crown." He hands her a new arrow.

Wanda Maximoff has posed:
Wanda takes up the new arrow, fitting it to the string. She looks over the bow and then and then takes aim on the target. The arrow flies through the air, it being a short distance, and thunks into just slightly outside of the first shot.

Another arrow is picked up and fitted to the bow. Wanda takes a deep breath, then draws the arrow and lets the breath out slowly as she releases. This time the arrow hits just at the border of the bullseye, right on its outer line.

She turns back to Clint, resting the bow's bottom tip on the ground as she looks him over. "I won't let you slip into that trap," she agrees. "And I'm good, Clint. Maybe the best I've ever been in my life. And I think you can guess who I have to thank for that," she says, moving over nearer to him and resting her head against his shoulder. "Janet. She really just has a way with words and-" she says before giving up the charade with a soft, warm laugh.

"I wouldn't have made it through everything without you though," she says. "Even amidst tragedy, I've still found the best thing in my life."

Clint Barton has posed:
"Not bad," Clint says at the first shot, but flinches a touch for the third, "Looks like my title's safe," he chuckles. Though he does offer her another arrow. "Finish this target strong then we'll try a more difficult one."

Clint grins happily to hear Wanda is happy, "Yeah, that Jan's a miracle worker," he says in a half-way decent deadpan, before breaking into a smile again. "I think this is the best thing in my life too. Which, got to say Witchy, drives me nuts sometimes waiting for the other shoe to drop," he says at first before continuing "But then there's moments like this, when I can just enjoy it, So, thank you, Wanda," he says kissing her cheek. "You've made these past few weeks amazing."

"So," he asks stepping back to let Wanda take her shot. "What was the next step of the plan? Ask me shooting, wear perfume and then..." he prods with a smirk on his lips.

Wanda Maximoff has posed:
"Profit?" Wanda offers with a warm laugh. "Well... I kind of imagined you leaning in close. Making excuses about helping me sight down the arrow to bring your cheek near to mine. Probably a hand down along my stomach to tell me about my core muscles. And at some point I'd just turn my head towards you and our lips would touch," she says.

She digs a toe at the ground and lets out a shy smile. "What can I say. I'm a bit of a hopeless romantic," she tells him. "Which reminds me, I'm making you sit through Shakespeare in Love with me some night."

Wanda rests the bow tip on the ground and uses the other end to gently support her chin as she looks at Clint. "I wanted to kiss you when we were on the boat. The paddle boat in the park? I nearly did. But I held back because of worrying you were already involved," she admits.

Clint Barton has posed:
Clint laughs, "No lie, that's where my head went too," he says.

He smiles at the description of what Wanda hoped would happen, and he nods. "Definitely a hopeless romantic," he grins without a hint of disapproval. "I'm not sure what I'd have done if that happened, I mean besides be six kinds of flustered." He smiles imagining it, he still had trouble believing that they were a couple, he'd have totally blamed himself for an accidental kiss.

"Yeah, thought it about kissing you on the boat too, and the time you were playing guitar, and that time in the kitchen, okay basically all the times we were around, just held off because I was chicken, figured it was never going to go anywhere," he smirks and shrugs. "Shows what I know."

"And your on for the movie, but you've got to watch when Harry Met Sally, maybe we need a movie night tonight."

Wanda Maximoff has posed:
Wanda props the bow up against something hand to free up her hands so she can slide her arms around Clint. "That sounds like a great idea," she agrees, giving him a warm smile.

"So, Mr. Barton," she tells him as she gazes over into his eyes. "I'd like to share a couch with you tonight. Maybe some popcorn, with the cheese powder on it? Or the karmelcorn, however you call it?" she says. Though she's been in the States for several years, there are always little things she's not quite sure of.

"And maybe afterwards, we can go up on the roof and have a moonlight swim together? Or... even better, maybe do it on a beach down in the Caribbean somewhere Cap won't walk out and give us The Look if our suits aren't, strictly, being worn?"

Clint Barton has posed:
Clint actually hast to shoulder check at the notion of Cap walking in on them, just in case he's somehow shown up to give them a preview of his disapproving face. "I think the Carribean sounds lovely, and a good use of your powers," he teases before smiling at the rest as well. "Well, Ms. Maximoff, I think we can handle the couch the popcorn, caramel corn, and the movies if you've got the rest of our evening covered?" he smiles before kissing her. "So, few more shots than go get ready for our evening?" he asks her.

Wanda Maximoff has posed:
Wanda smiles and says, "It's a date then." She kisses him back, her hand brushing over his cheek warmly before she moves away to retrieve the bow and bring the quiver of arrow over by her.

She goes through the quiver, with occasional tips from Hawkeye on her form. Most of them have to do with archery, others are just comments on her form that bring warm laughs from her. Most of the arrows find the target, a few misses when they go for targets further away. Wanda's athletic enough to fare well for a first timer. But there's no fear of her taking over 'bow dude' slot on the Avengers anytime soon. Eventually they retire back to their room for movie night.
