Jimmy Hudson has posed:
It is always promising when things start with a dance.
Though the first waltz between the had been in the stratosphere as texts wandered and wended their way across the world up into the sky, bounced back down to the Earth as words were shared. And it was a dance that began with the simple step of...
    << Heyas. I think... I have an idea. >>
And then off they went. There were a few more messages sent back and forth playful, amused, which had led eventually to an agreement that saw he two of them meeting up here in New York City to this modern monument to the trials of life with its presentation of challenges created for people to set for themselves. In a world where much of the physical obstacles of life have been removed, here people find them again. Though now with fancy colors, bright decor, and a gigantic wall that climbs up and up in this modern gymnasium.
A wall that when first looked at on the webpage had seemed much smaller. And now, dangling from an orange colored handle, casting his gaze over his shoulder and looking down... definitely it seems much taller.
"You are a mad woman," James' voice is heard as he calls over toward his partner on that particular vertical trail, his fingers chalked and dug into the grip so high up. He had himself that one grip, and he dangled a little with his legs free, reaching over to the side to try and get another.
It was far from the first time that Jimmy Hudson had gone rock climbing. He was good. But this Carrie Kelley person? Well she seemed another thing entire.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie had some time to heal up, but she was still a little sore in places. Obviously she couldn't tell Jimmy what happened, so there had been talk of misplaced footing and what not to do while doing Parkour. She'd been happy to get out and get to go climbing though. She enjoyed being able to stretch the muscles. Winter sucked for being able to be out and being able to work out without having to go to a gym.

"You need some help over there?" she'd called back to him as she had a sturdy grip on where her hands were placed. "I can swing over and help your hands find places to grab onto." she adds with a bit of a laugh.

She might be teasing, or she might be offering true help. He'd have to figure it out!

Jimmy Hudson has posed:
She was a little bit above and to the side of him, so it /could/ be a legit offer. But Jimmy's thoughts were, of course, naturally suspicious. But in a good way as that half-smirk that lights up his features is an amused thing. "Oh you can swing over here and I'll give you some help." He says that last bit with a faux grumpy tone as if he were threatening her. But then she might catch those blue eyes and see the hint of mirth there.
Though still, he had to figure out a way of his own predicament. Looking down and around he crinkled his nose as he looked for a good angle, his free hand reaching down to that burgundy t-shirt he was wearing and pulled up the hem to wipe at his brow. He had been waiting at the start area when she had arrived, grey sweat shorts, white sneakers, and that hint of dark red for his t-shirt. Prepped and set and ready.
    Now? Perhaps not so ready.
The safety harness clinked and clanked faintly as he moved, shuffling, finding a spot for his foot, and then he made a decision. With a _grunt_ he leapt for that spot right next to hers!
Then landed and _Grabbed_ and held on, arms swelling with strain until he secures and then half-grins sidelong at her.
    "No guts no glory."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carr's green gaze is half impish, half serious as she looks over to Jimmy, she wasn't sure of his skill level on the rock wall, but he was doing good so far! "You'll give /me/ help?" she gives a rich chuckle at that. "You're going to be just fine. Come on over." she beckons him as she allows one hand to leave the wall.

She watches him though as she was righting herself, trying to make sure that if he slipped and fell he wasn't going to hurt himself. She'd worn black athletic leggings, a green tank top and a slouchy golden colored over shirt. Black climbing shoes were on her feet. She'd came prepared.

When he jumps there's a moment she holds her breath, but she looks relieved when he finds his purchase, "Go big or go home, I agree." she tells him with a smile. "You're going to be super hungry after all this climbing." she points out to him as she stretches her arm to find the next hold on the wall.

Jimmy Hudson has posed:
It was a little easier from there to make some headway, a shift of one grip, a push of his leg upward as he extends it toward a normally awkward angle to find purchase and help propel him upward. Sure he might seem a little ragged at points, but he did good on this. And flexibility wasn't a weak point for him it seemed with the way he could twist and get that leg on the other angle.
Another shift of grip with him rising above her for the first time, albeit briefly as he murmurs, "Going to be?" He says as he lifts his head up to look at the so close and yet so far top lip of the gigantic climbing wall. "Girl, I'll have you know I'm famished already." Those last words given with a wry half-smile.
He makes a reach that's perhaps a bit easier for him with him being taller, then secures his grip and shifts an arm down to offer her his hand. A short cut perhaps, but the first sign of them hitting this obstacle as a team, "Here, I got ya." He offers with a nod, no pretense in his eyes and for once being serious as he makes sure his grip is secure as those chalked fingers dig in.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carr watches him as he makes some headway, letting him get the hang of things again as she sets a leisurely pace for herself. He was taller than her, so his wingspan and reach was larger. But that didn't stop her. She does give a soft chuckle when he says he's already hungry. "We'll get you fed after this then. Don't want you starving on me." she teases him with a chuckle.

When he shifts and offers her his hand there is a bit of a look up to him, calculating the risks. She lets her hand reach out to take his, her chalked fingers finding his hand when he offers to help her up, "Thank you, Jimmy." she tells him as she leverages herself up with his help. "You know, you're not so bad at this climbing thing." she points out to him.

Jimmy Hudson has posed:
"I do have my positive traits." Jimmy says as his hand tightens and he helps her up, lifting with a subtle pull. Not too strong, but firm enough to be a good handhold. "A few of them at least." His lip twists into a smile as with that she's able to make it all the closer to their goal before he's following in her wake.
It doesn't take too much longer for them to focus and hunker down, as they dissect the remaining bits of the course. There's a moment where he motions with a nod and murmurs, "Think that overhang might be good, if you got the arm strength." Which is coupled with a glance at the aforementioned arms, then he looks back. "You are one compact dynamo, Miss Carrie Kelley." He offers even as he focuses, gauges and makes that leap for the hand-grip, easier than the last, but still not something to take for granted.
He makes it, swings to the side, hooks a leg over the lip of the ledge, then calls back, "Yeah easier over here." He'll likely make it over the top in the next few moves, all things considered.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
"That's very true." Carr offers with an easy smile to that. She brushes her hands on her shirt before she's continuing on their climb. She wasn't really trying to out climb him. She was just enjoying herself with the moment. She lets him lead for a bit, directing them where they go. She gives a glance over to the overhang and she nods to that, "Sure thing." she tells him.

She starts her way over to the overhang after she's dusted her hands in her chalk bag again, "Dynamite comes in small packages, right?" she chuckles at him as she pulls herself up and across. Though her shoulder did hurt just a little. "Even if I am pretty average height for a woman." she muses to that.

He gets ahead of her and there is a grin to that, "Get on up there!" she tells him. "Where do you want to get food after all of this?" she asks him.

Jimmy Hudson has posed:
She'll hear a /grunt/ and then a grimace is seen on his features as he _heaves_ himself over the ledge and then rolls out of view. Though she'll hear him give a low, 'whew!' as he takes a deep breath and then rolls up to a sitting posture on that high point above the entire gym, the top of the wall looking like some crazy tower from whence the nobility of the realm would dispense their wisdom to the unclean masses below.
"Well, what are you in the mood for?" He says as he crawls over and then is back in her view, looking over the ledge toward her. His brow knits as he sees her perhaps favoring that shoulder a little and then extends a hand. Not quite drawing attention to it, but more being ready in case she might need it.
A glance over his shoulder is given which makes him smile, then he looks back at her, "Or, we could eat whatever is in this basket up here." Since apparently there's a basket. Though if she has been to this place before, and booked the crimson or orange trail, she knows that the staff puts up a reward package for anyone able to Defeat the Mountain!
Though usually what's in the package is just some sparkling cider, some gluten free crackers, cheese, and some pepperoni. A nice treat.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carr's giving a look at possible trails to take so that she can get to the top. But in the end she doesn't mind taking a bath that is already traveled. "Honestly I am not a picky eater...though a nice steak sounds great." she muses to that. She looks up to him when he gets up on the ledge and she grins at that, "Good job, Jimmy." she tells him.

The hand is noted, but she doesn't reach out for it yet. Trying to power through on her own like the stubborn thing that she is.

"Basket?" she asks him. Then she's pulling herself up to the top and there's a look to the basket and then to him, "Mmm. I suppose we could enjoy a treat while we're up here." she chuckles. "Did you do this?" she asks him as she starts to take her gloves off.

Jimmy Hudson has posed:
"I mean," Jimmy looks back as he /eases/ back with a fwumpf into a seated posture there on the small plateau, "I wish I had thought of it." Some guys might have taken the credit been all, 'yeeah, total forethought.' But Jimmy seems more inclined toward the truth as he murmurs, "I think it's there as a reward for anyone that can beat the harder paths, and to be fair... they ain't kiddin'."
He starts to take his own gloves off as well, undoing one of the velcro straps with his teeth and then pulling and yanking albeit slowly until he's free of their restraints. They're tucked into the pocket of his sweat shorts as he leans over then crawls across the few feet toward the small gift basket. Fingers closing over it he slides it between them and picks up the small card off the top which says simply...
"Congratulations on your Successful Climb! -Care of the Staff of Rock Wallz Gym!"
He hands the card to her and starts to open it up, picking out the bottle of course. "Oh hey champagne... no wait, just Sports Cider."
