Timeline:
* 2005: Ashton Broder is born to loving parents in a suburban neighborhood. His parents, while supportive, are unaware of the world of mutants and their struggles. His mother was a hard-working nurse, and his father was a struggling mechanic with very conservative ideals.
* 2011: At a very early age, Ashton discovers punk music and culture, sparking his interest in anti-establishment ideals and fueling his rebellious spirit. This becomes an escape from his father's expectations.
* 2015: At age 10, Ashton's mutant powers first manifest, causing chaos and confusion when he accidentally shrinks a family car during an argument. His parents, although shocked, try to support him. His father struggles balancing the love he has for his child with his values. His mother is more accepting.
* 2016-2018: Ashton becomes more deeply involved in the punk scene, attending shows and making connections within the community. His defiance towards authority figures increases, leading to clashes at school and with his parents. His father disappears, his whereabouts unknown to this day.
* 2019: Ashton's powers continue to develop, but he struggles to control them. Ashton begins to subsidize his lifestyle via petty theft. A series of incidents at school attract the attention of local authorities, who begin to investigate his abilities.
* 2020: Ashton's petty crimes put him on the radar of a government black op.
* 2023: Black op targets Ashton for abduction. The strike team poses as the police making an arrest. X-Men team arrives and exposes the fraud. A day later, Ashton's mother receives an invitation for him to attend Xavier's school of the gifted. Ashton transfers to Xavier's School for the Gifted. He's enrolled with just enough credits to qualify as a junior.

Size Manipulation:
Ashton has the mutant ability to shrink and grow at will inanimate objects that he touches. He can manipulate the size of objects to suit his needs, whether it's shrinking equipment for easy carry down to 1% of its original size (e.g., reducing a 1-meter-long object to just 1 centimeter) or enlarging a small object to as much as 10x of its original size (e.g., increasing a 1-meter-long object to 10 meters) to act as a shield. Ashton can also shrink or enlarge parts of complex objects as long as they are distinguishable by an obvious joint or some other break in the structure. It is important to note that objects requiring an external power source will consume more or less power after being manipulated, depending on their altered size.
However, there are limitations to his power: the size changes are temporary and depend on Ashton's proximity. Objects maintain their altered size only as long as they are within a 30-foot radius of Ashton. Once outside this range, they will revert to their original dimensions within 5 minutes. Additionally, he cannot manipulate living beings, items within living beings (an earring, a spearhead), or objects larger than a car. Using his power extensively can also cause mental strain and exhaustion, making it crucial for him to use his ability judiciously.
Note: In the real world some items made larger might collapse or break for being unable to support their own increased weight. While that could happen with Ashton's power, it is also similar to Ant-man's in that that might be the case, but sometimes comic book rules apply. Particularly if the result is more humorous that way.
