Bette has a lot of big shoes to fill with the Kane name, both immediate family and those she's distantly related to. She's bold, brash, and plans to make a big splash in the world. So far she's got a reputation as an ace tennis player and a damn good student at West Point, but the future is now and who knows what it holds.

Timeline

Timeline:
1999: Born into the Kane family.

2004: Began taking lessons in tennis, golf, and other non-contact sports.

2010: Became a fangirl of the Dynamic Duo that were being splashed across the news and whispered about.

2011: Started to compete in tennis tournaments. Excelled at athletics, tennis in particular, but she was always pushing to do more, be better.

2016: Began attending school at West Point, got the idea that she wanted to be like the others running around wearing masks and capes. Convinced her cousin to help begin training her, had to keep both her academics up and not get caught sneaking in and out of campus for training.

2017: Snuck back to Gotham to attempt to try out for one of the younger groups of superheroes under the name Hawkfire, but her chance was never had because disaster struck.

2018-2019: Continued to train with her cousin, tried doing some solo super hero adventures, typically lost. However she was able to be a support for her cousin when needed. Hangs up the costume of Hawkfire.

2020: Set to graduate from West Point, returning full time to Gotham with plans to go to Gotham University in the fall to further her education. Plans to also take up the mantle of Flamebird.

Personality

Inquisitive:
Bette is someone that is always looking to learn more, to peer past the obvious and figure out why something is happening, or why it is the way that it is. She finds the questions as important as the answers in any given situation.

Risk-Taker:
She's something of a risk-taker, she's always been athletic and has pushed those boundaries as she's gotten older. First it was cliff-diving when the family went on trips or vacations, then it was hang gliding, deep sea diving, mountain climbing, and sky diving. This isn't just limited to extreme sport situations, either. She often leaps into things before she fully thinks it through, which has gotten her hurt before. Badly. But that doesn't ever seem to stop her the next time.

Stubborn:
Bette is determined. Stubborn might be a good way to describe it, in fact. She was born with a silver spoon in her mouth, she's been told so many times that she's beautiful, some in her position might simply expect things to come their way. But not Bette. She's always chasing the next thing, and even when she gets knocked back down she picks herself back up and tries. She's not accepting failure, she might postpone things, but she always comes back around to it in the end.

Skills

Athletics:
Since she was a child Bette has been athletic, going from tennis and golf to boxing, swimming, skydiving, mountain climbing and anything else that she could pick up.

Boxing:
As of 2016 boxing was a required skill at West Point, as a student of that institution she was required to learn not just the basics of the combat style but also to do her best in mastering it. She is not the best of the best at it, but she knows more than just the basics of it and is competent at the style.

Military Training:
As part of her training at West Point, Bette has been drilled in military tactics and military protocol. She knows how the military operates, what the standard reaction should be, and how to proceed forward under that umbrella.

Psychology:
She took a basic psychology class at West Point and it sparked something in her that she hadn't realized she had. She's been studying a lot of the subject on her own, and has future plans to attend Gotham University with that as her major.

Stealth:
While nowhere as good as other members of the Bat Family she has at least been trained to be quiet on her feet. Most of her training comes via West Point, but she's also learned from her cousin as well. Expanding on that training, although she's yet to learn the fine art of seeming to vanish into thin air.

Resources

Bird-a-Rangs:
While very similar to the famous Batarangs these are essentially different. They are shaped liked birds, not bats. Which makes them very different indeed, but otherwise they function exactly the same as thrown weapons. They are currently low tech, just blunt or sharpened throwing weapons. There is also a bola version which can be set to stun once it has wrapped about somebody.

Kane Family:
While she's still young, isn't part of the family business just yet, and is expected to continue her education as far as possible, she is still able to call upon the resources of the family.

Suit:
The Flamebird suit is not as high tech as some of the suits belonging to the super hero set are, but she's made some modifications to it, had the help of her cousin as well. It's got armored bits to protect the vital organs, a cape that can double as a hang-glider if needed, and lenses in her mask that are designed to reduce glare.

Weaknesses

Overconfidence:
Bette has always been exceptional at sport. She is a tennis protege. She is good looking enough that she has been asked to model more than once and has been on the cover of Sports Magazine. This has given her an over inflated sense of self confidence. She thinks there is nothing she cannot do and that can cause problems when she should stop and recognize that she really isn't up to handling particular situations by herself.

Stubborn:
She doesn't know when to quit, and that can be a very bad thing. It's put her in positions to get hurt sometimes, and get others hurt as well. She doesn't intend to get anyone hurt, herself included, but she doesn't recognize her limits.

Title Date Scene Summary
High-speed heists: burnouts and bank jobs May 24th, 2023 The high-speed Heist in Gotham moves from the Port to the Freeway. A convoy of Street Demonz, Racers and armoured trucks making a break for it after looting sea containers of some pretty dangerous sorts. A stowaway that's undercover sends out a frantic plea for help and the Birds of Prey are promptly on the scene at speed. High speed duels, risky leaps from vehicle to vehicle, bullets and crossbows are exchanged. The convoy is taken apart piecemeal. The orchestrator of the Heist, the Calculator arrives on scene to try and personally assure success. Whether baited or part of the plan, nothing that evening goes acording to his.
