Character Info
Profile
Barda is a vicious, bloody, conscience-free warrior from Apokalips (retired) trying now to make amends for her work for Darkseid, as well as trying to achieve her (somewhat delusional) dream of becoming an ordinary middle-American housewife. Between her unusual height, her unnatural strength, and her absolutely terrible cooking skills (not to mention her frequent jumps back into battle, in the name of good this time!) this dream seems an eternity away.
Timeline
Timeline:
* 1770 Conceived Big Breeda and an unnamed man she loved in place of the allocated man she was
intended to breed with.
* 1770 Placed in the Gestation Lab by Darkseid after being removed from
her mother.
* 1770 Born from the Gestation Lab and sent to Granny Goodness' Orphanage to be
raised.
* 1771+ Raised by Granny Goodness, groomed to eventually lead the Female Furies, an elite
all-female squad of Darkseid's finest warriors.
* 2015 During a raid, met the captured Scott
Free, Darkseid's adopted son (in reality the captured son of the Highfather of New Genesis) and,
sensing a peace in him, fell in love.
* 2016 Risking her own life and standing, Big Barda helps
Scott Free escape Apokalips.
* 2019 Three years of being in Granny Goodness' doghouse, paired
with warm memories of Scott Free and a rising sense of morality and outrage at Darkseid's violent
despotism leads to a realization: Big Barda could no longer be a part of Darkseid's plans to
rule.
* 2019 Big Barda begins to plot her own escape from under Darkseid's and Granny Goodness'
thumb.
* 2020 Darkseid begins to muster forces for a mass invasion of Earth to find the Anti-Life
Equation.
* 2021 Big Barda escapes to Earth, having carefully collected all the information she
had access to about Darkseid's plans as bargaining goods with Earth authorities, seeking to make
amends for some of what she'd done in the name of Darkseid. Finding Scott Free is a vague dream as
well.

Personality
Aloof:
The status she was raised to hold in her home of Apokalips put her in the ranks of the elite.
Though she is no longer among their number, her attitude often comes off as aloof, and distant, in
spite of her attempts otherwise. She doesn't make friends easily, so when she does, they are for
life.
Dedicated:
This is both for those she cares for, and for any current challenge she has set herself to
completing. Once her mind or heart are set, she does not waver from her chosen course of
action.
Dreamer:
Big Barda dreams of normalcy, trying desperately (but incompetently) to be just an ordinary
person in her life. She dreams of being an ordinary housewife, in fact, in a suburban home with a
loving husband she cooks and cleans for.
Dutiful:
Dreams or not, when the call comes for action she will be there because it is her duty. Throwing
off an Apokaliptic invasion? She's there. Protecting the city from a natural disaster? Battle armor
on, mega rod in hand, she's there. It's only right.
Fierce:
Every hardship in life she has faced has simply been another challenge to overcome. When she
sees weakness in another she deals with it immediately in the only way she knows how: By knocking it
down. Either they'll stand back up and be stronger for it, or they'll prove not worth her time.
Character Sheet
Powers
Alacrity:
Along with superhuman strength, Barda has phenomenal reflexes. She can outrun the aim of someone
shooting at mid-range and can dodge slow-moving handgun rounds in flight, if aware of them.
Durability:
Barda's flesh is not only stronger but more resilient and resistant to injury. Barda can stand
up to blows from superhumans with little effect or massive impacts. Boulders have broken on her,
though that might knock her down or stun her briefly. She is less resistant to edged weapons,
bullets, and lasers. (This is one of the reasons she wears armor.) Even though she can be shot,
bullets do not penetrate as deeply as they would in a normal human. While she may not be
indestructible she certainly gives that impression due to her high level of pain resistance, and can
ignore trifling things like a fracture or flesh wounds for several hours.
Longevity:
Though Barda has stopped aging in appearance around the age of 30 (28 if you ask her) she is in
fact over 250 years old. Disease, illness, and old age will never been the source of her ultimate
death. She can still be killed through battle and such similar methods that would destroy her
body.
Strength:
Among Homo Immortalis, there aren't many who are stronger than Barda. Her strength among the
Furies is legendary. With greatest effort she can lift a hundred tons or more, and is able to use
this strength over protracted periods of time.
Skills
Advanced Combat:
Barda was trained to fight to Apokalips warrior standards as well as being the leader of the
Female Furies. While it's difficult to describe her fighting skill or style in Earth terms, it is
most akin to the forceful methods of the Amazonian warriors. It is based on her superhuman strength,
speed, and agility.
Cooking:
Though a newer skill since her coming to Earth, Barda is rather fond of cooking and familiar
with most if not all of the appliances that can be found in a kitchen. While her food is rarely
tasty, it is usually able to sustain a person. **Note: Some more experimental meals may require the
intervention of a Mother Box to survive.**
Fourth World Technology:
While at times unfamiliar with human technology she is on the other hand supremely skilled with
more advanced Fourth World Technology. Boom Tubes, Aero Discs, her Mega Rod and her Mother Box are
all things she's adept at using, among many others.
Leadership:
Due to her training she's more than familiar with working as a team. Being leader of the Furies
she's familiar with organizing a team in combat situations. If necessary she's more than capable of
working with an unknown team on the fly and has done so on numerous occasions.
Resources
Aero Discs:
These are thin metal plates about a foot across. The New Gods use them for personal travel. They
can reach speeds of 250 mph and are resistant to most damage.
Apokaliptic Armor:
Barda's armor was forged in the fires of Apokalips. Extremely durable, resistant to damage, and
stronger than steel it has served her well through her long life. Barda's Mother Box can teleport
the armor onto her in a moment's notice to ensure she is always prepared for battle.
Female Furies:
Barda is the former commander of the female Furies, an all woman group of Darkseid's Elite. The
number and roster of the Furies is subject to change but four members were close with Barda and are
sort of Frenemies. Sometimes they are out for blood. Sometimes they want to defect to Earth. The
three most often associated with Barda are Bernadeth--Desaad's sister and mistress of the Fahren-
Knives (flying, flaming daggers), Lashina--master of deadly steel snapping lashes, and Stompa--
almost in Barda's strength class who likes stomping stuff.
Mega Rod:
The only one to posess the Mega Rod is Barda. There are other power rods, the Beta Rods, but she
has been the only one strong enough to wield the Mega Rod. Should it fall into human hands it would
ultimately destroy their minds with continued use, driving them insane and homicidal. The Mega Rod
allows her to fly, project concussion blasts, and holds the circuitry for her Mother Box.
Mother Box:
A Mother Box is a living computerized entity. Always a she, and never an it, she looks after
those who posess her by accessing the power of the Power Cosmic for various effects. She can produce
the Aero Discs used for flight, create Boom Tubes for travel, and help with boosts of stamina or
endurance for her target if necessary. She allows Barda to understand any language, speak
telepathically if ncessary, and help moderate her moods. Mother Boxes, when damaged, can be healed
with the love and hope of the user.
Weaknesses
Cooking:
Barda is not the best cook. (This is understatement rather in the vein of "the sea is not above
the clouds".) She often attempts elaborate meals with substitutions that seem good at the time and
often aren't. Tofu and chocolate? Done it. There are times her meals may require the intervention of
her Mother Box to survive.
People Are Strange:
Barda is an alien and newly arrived. While her Mother Box helped a lot in learning the facts of
her new world, the subtleties of how things work lead to frequent bemusement.
Radion:
A failsafe engineered into Homo Immortalis. Radion is a rare energetic emission that can only be
produced artificially. When the Homo Immortalis is exposed to it their connection to the Power
Cosmic is rapidly drained. The energies that fuel their life force and provide them their fantastic
powers are diminished in moments. With enough exposure the damage can be near permanent, or even
fatal. It should be noted that, unlike many of her kind, Barda is far more resistant to Radion due
to her sheer durability. She is able to take almost twice as much of a dose as most Homo Immortalis
before succumbing to it.
Rough Edges:
Sometimes Barda can be lacking in matters of etiquette or just plain rude at times. She is often
brusque and impatient with people who show weakness or fear. Unfortunately that's most humans. Those
who manage to get past this learn she's really a pussycat when not being a tigress.
