Clarice Ferguson is had a rather hard time of it all - first she was brought to Genosha for help, only to be put in a Mutate program. Then she was liberated by Magneto, just to turn around and have her home destroyed by Sentinels. Now she's recovering form that and trying to figure out what to do with her life now that she has very little purpose left.

Timeline:
* 1998 - Clarice Ferguson is born in Barbados. Unfortunately, she was born clearly a mutant with magenta skin and hair and elven like ears.
* 2001 - Clarice's parents are wooed to immigrate to Genosha from Barbados in finding the cutting edge treatment that their daughter could use to help with her mutation.
* 2004 - Clarice is taken from her parents to put her in a special program for Mutants -- the Mutate Bonding process. Clarice goes from Clarice Ferguson to Mutate#083 -- and her teleportation powers open up a world of possibilities.
* 2005 - 2012 - Mutate#083 is put into a specialized training regime to weaponize her talents. She is trained in stealth, acrobatics, and infiltration, being made into an assassin by the time she was twelve years old. She is used by her Genoshian handlers in specialized tasks.
* 2015 - Magneto's liberation of Genosha frees Clarice from the slave pens at Hammer Bay. She went through the Reverse Mutate Process and was restored to normal, though she still holds memories of her time as a Mutate. In gratitude for the liberation, she volunteers for the Royal Family Guard, offering her services as a teleporter should they need to escape a situation in a hurry.
* 2020 - When the attack on Genosha occurred, Clarice was attempting to get to the royals to teleport them away -- instead Magento ordered her to try to help the civilians escape. She has sent a few off into the mountains when she was struck by a Sentinel in the head and managed to fall into her own portal, teleporting her away before falling into a coma. She has awoken only recently in a Wakandan field hospital.

Personality

Blunt:
She sometimes can come off as sarcastic or flippant, but that is because she thinks honesty and frankness are virtues; she won't second guess if she thinks there is something someone needs to hear. There's no time to beat around the bush with her, so prefers to just get it to the point.

Flair For the Dramatic:
Clarice has a flair for the dramatic, adventurous spirit to arrive at the best moment, and to show off her skills in the best possible away.

Loyal:
Clarice is extremely loyal to the royal family of Genosha. She owes her life and freedom to Magneto, and will follow his children willingly. It will be extremely hard to break her of her zealotry towards them. They have given her much, she is willing to give all in return.

Serious:
Blink is serious, intense and tries not to show emotions. She was raised to be a competent, disciplined fighter, not a foolish young girl. Still, she can be very sentimental. She still holds some items from her youth in her heart, even if they were lost in the destruction of Genosha.

Javelins:
An extension of her portal power, Clarice can materialize short javelins at will. When thrown, she can choose to either teleport what is hit out of another portal, or simply 'displace' the matter that it comes into contact with. In this manner, people can be moved out of danger, or someone's heart might be 'displaced' in a rather terminal fashion. Though Blink can make these at will, she tends to go into combat with a loaded quiver of pre-made javelins on her back. As each one is still that little bit draining, and sometimes speed is too important to sacrifice.

Portals:
Clarice can create portals that allow individuals to pass through, effectively teleporting from one place to another. These portals can pinpoint any location in the world, but her comfort-level creating a portal to an area she does not know from personal experience is more strenuous. She allows herself to travel through the portal, or others, up objects to the size of a semi-truck. There are drawbacks, however; the further Blink's portals are the more taxing they are to create; anything more than fifty miles will require her to take a moment to recover, but she is able to teleport around the room she is in with relative ease. She can open multiple portals at the same time, doing so is easy enough, but each one is that much harder to maintain than the last. The main danger of a portal is it's 'wave', the edge of the portal shreds anything it comes into contact with, wood, metal, organic matter, molecules just come apart as the wave passes through them. This in itself turns the portals from useful tools to deadly weapons.

Acrobatics:
Clarice was always a graceful girl, so when she took gymnastics as a child she took to it quite naturally. Combines with her ability to use portals to move around creatively, Blink is able to tumble and leap across areas with relative ease. She is especially adept as free-running, using her environment creatively to close distances even without her use of portals. The Mutate program enhanced those skills, taking a girl that found a thrill from swinging from trees into one that can creatively get into places that one wasn't supposed to be in.

Hand To Hand:
Blink is always one to think creatively rather than resort to a fight. However, in her line of work, it is not uncommon to find yourself in the heat of combat, and thus she has gained some insight into how to hold her own in a confrontation. She specifically is versed in kickboxing, which comes in tandem with her gymnastics training to create a rather unique fighting style. And of course, she is not above fighting dirty, especially with tricks related to her darts.

Leadership:
Though she hasn't had as many chances to flex these muscles, in the times that she has found herself in impromptu leadership positions, Clarice has shown promise. This is due in part to a quick, analytical mind that can assess possible courses of action quickly, but also for her ability to find ways to accentuate her partners' strengths and mitigating their weaknesses.

Lockpicking:
It's something she's taught herself. After all, a portal is great, but if you can't get inside in the first place, how are you going to make sure you don't destroy anything with their waves? To date Clarice is quite adept at getting into places she shouldn't, both old-style tumbler locks and the new electronic ones, given enough time (and with the right tools), she can get into just about anywhere.

She's currently a survivor of Genosha. She gets whatever they're offered, though that is mostly thoughts and prayers. She hopes to be reunited with the royal family to be able to assist them again.

Weaknesses

Appearance:
Yes, Blink is proud to be a mutant, but there are times when she wishes she could blend into the crowd a tad more easily. Between her unique coloring, stray markings and some distinct eyes, Clarice is hardly a face you forget. If she is trying to pass as "normal", she is either going to have to use an image inducer or heavily disguise herself. This also makes having much of a "secret identity" pretty much impossible.

Bold:
Clarice is brave, loyal to her friends and not afraid to put herself in harm's way. These are all admirable qualities, but also the kind that get you in a sticky situation more often than not. Thus Blink is no stranger to finding herself in danger due to her own bold actions and sense of duty; luckily so far this has only led to a few major injuries, but it would only take one bad turn for things to get serious...

Portals:
They're dangerous! A miscalculation and her companions could be cut in half. Not to mention that she's still not got full control over them, sometimes being off the mark by a little, sometimes by a matter of miles. It's not often where she /opens/ them, but where they come out that's the problem. Many a tree, wall and even a few wild animals have been torn asunder by her displacement wave.

Post-Mutate Stress:
After her time in the Mutate program, Clarice holds not-fond memories of what had become of her. She still suffers stress in the form of nightmares from her time in the program.
