Heroes Assemble is a collaborative writing game focused on telling a good story. It is not about 'winning' or beating other players. It is not about building the strongest character. Character growth is more about the journey than the destination.

As part of this, Heroes Assemble is consent based. Each player has the right to decide what happens to their character. Another player can pose throwing a punch or shooting at you, but you have the right to decide what the outcome to your character is. Our players will frequently ask each other, "Can I pose this about your character and have the result be that?"

A player can also decide not to participate if a situation is uncomfortable for them out of character. Due to potential impact on other players, non-consensual sex and suicide are two topics that are not allowed to be played even in unlogged scenes.

A player can give permission to another to pose their character, including in their absence. But otherwise players must avoid forcing actions on another character, their resources or belongings.

Consent is not a mechanism for avoiding consequences of IC actions. The goal of the game is for everyone to have a good time, so players should work together to tell a good story. If a disagreement ensues, staff can be called in to mediate.
