Craig Hollis is a mild-mannered emergency medical technician from the Midwest, trying to make it in the Big Apple. Mr. Immortal is a colorful and somewhat reckless superhero, formerly from Milwaukee and now relocated to New York, attempting to prove himself on the crimefighting scene. Rumor has it he can't be killed, but there are Youtube compilations which show that might not actually be that great.

Personality

Despair:
While his positive outlook is the standard version of Mr. I, especially the one he shows the world, he still has intense bouts of despair and depression. He's seen and experienced a great deal of death and pain and sometimes even his bright spirit can get overwhelmed by it. When he succumbs to self-doubt or self-loathing, he can enter into a very dark state indeed, one he usually needs help from friends to escape.

Enthusiastic:
Mr. Immortal is an extremely energetic and optimistic super hero. He tries his best to encourage those around him and takes great pride in being a crimefighter. For as gruesome as his powers can sometimes be, he's far from grim and gritty by nature and tries to keep a positive outlook on life at all times. That's because, when he doesn't, he tends to have extremely depressive crashes (see other traits).

Mr. Nice Guy:
Seems like kind of a given, but, in a world of rough and tough vigilantes, Mr. I stands out by being actually pretty nice. He's friendly to strangers, tries to help out little old ladies and kittens in trees and does his very best to be a true blue superhero. He messes up a lot, of course, but at least he tries! He even considered Mr. Nice Guy as a codename, but thought the 'can't die' thing was probably a better gimmick.

Oblivious:
Mr. I doesn't always have a good sense of other people's attitudes or behavior. He doesn't know how to read people very well and so he can be awkward or oblivious to the world around him. He's also just not great at paying attention, probably has a bit of ADHD, and so it makes him a bit clumsy and prone to making mistakes. Oops.

Powers

Retroactive Immortality:
It isn't exactly right to say that Craig Hollis can't die. It's that he dies and comes back, almost immediately. Put simply, if Craig experiences 'death', his body will completely reset back to full health after a few moments, usually anywhere between thirty seconds and two minutes depending on the severity of the injuries. This is relativey instantaneous and complete, leaving not even a scar or a scratch on his body. There is no limit to how severe an injury he can restore - he's literally been beheaded, crushed into paste, hit by trains and drowned at the bottom of the ocean. He always pops back. This ability only activates with death. Mere injuries or physical damage will heal at normal human speed unless he finishes the job and dies. Of note, when returning from death, he usually returns in a state of existential agony and rage, leaving him psychotic and ultraviolent for about five minutes after resurrection. Certain empathic abilities and ultrasonic frequencies can calm him in this state.

Skills

Acrobatics:
Since taking up superheroism, Craig has done extensive training in acrobatics and parkour. While he isn't the most physically coordinated person in the world, he still does pretty well and has incorporated flips, jumps and leaps into his crimefighting style, as well as becoming a pretty good roof-runner and rope-swinger.

Crimesolver:
Craig's not terribly bad at puzzles and is getting better at being a detective. He puts in a lot of effort looking at clues and trying to solve crimes. He listens to a lot of true crime podcasts while on his EMT rounds. He has enough natural talent that he could become a pretty good crimesolver with time.

Hand-To-Hand:
Craig is a modestly skilled hand-to-hand combatant. He's got a brown belt in tae kwan do from the local YMCA and has been trying some MMA training, although mostly he's just gotten his arm broken a lot so far. He isn't competitive with high level fighters, but he's got an edge over your average street punk.

Leadership:
Craig is actually a pretty good leader. He's charismatic, energetic, knows how to motivate his team and has an endless energy for keeping things going. He loves having friends on his side and is most comfortable with others following his lead.

Medic:
Craig is a licensed and trained emergency medical technician. He can provide field medicine and stabilize people who are injured. He can do resuscitations and provie emergency help to those who are hurt or sick. While not as knowledgeable as a doctor or nurse, he can be really helpful in a pinch and has probably saved more lives this way than with his superheroing.

Costume:
Craig's Mr. Immortal costume is really just a pair of tights. It doesn't have any special qualities beyond a decent pair of boots and a few pouches at his waist that include zipties, a grappling gun, rope, a police scanner and his phone.

Salary:
Craig makes a modest salary of around 45K per years as an EMT in New York City. Of course, the city is expensive to live in, so it's not as much as you'd think, but he does okay. He has enough to afford a modest apartment and eat out a few times a week, along with buying superhero gear.

Weaknesses

Clumsy:
Craig's hand-eye coordination isn't exactly top-notch. He has a habit of tripping over his own feet sometimes and is often more enthusiastic than skillful in his crimefighting. At least twenty percent of his deaths in the field are his own fault.

Depression:
Craig is still prone to black bouts of depression and self-loathing, especially after superheroic failures or in any way being mocked or ignored by superheroes or the media. He so desperately wants to be respected and he so very rarely is.

Frenzy:
Upon awakening from 'death', Mr. Immortal experiences the horror and emptiness of his demise, as well as all the pain, and it drives him insane for a few minutes. In this state, he can often fight well, being something of a berzerker, but he also has no sense of who's good or bad and will just lash out at anyone and anything that comes near him.

Wounded:
Put simply, if Craig doesn't die, he doesn't get all those sweet heals. So being injured or damaged in ways short of death - breaking an arm, getting his eye stabbed out, third degree burns - they'll all stay intact and just be like injuries on an ordinary person unless he goes out of his way to die and restore himself. Ouch.
