Date of Cutscene: 04 January 2021
Location: Empire Glassworx
Synopsis: Why shouldn't someone not very important have an evil twin anyway?
Cast of Characters: Nick Lytton

    "G'night, Ginny."
    "G'night, Nick."
Ginny made sure all the doors were locked before heading out, leaving Nick behind in the studio.  That's normal enough.  Nick often stays late in the studio, mainly because he loves the hell out of what he does.  That's probably what makes a good artist to begin with, having it be fun rather than work.
So it's a few hours later when Nick shuts down all the lights and slips out the back door, making sure it's locked behind him.
Earbuds—so.  He flicks through the music on his phone and settles on the Grateful Dead at Winterland, 12/30/77.

o/` In the timbers of Fennario, the wolves are runnin' 'round
o/` The winter was so hard and cold, froze ten feet 'neath the ground
        o/` Don't murder me / I beg of you don't murder me
        o/` Ple-e-e-ease don't murder me

Nick isn't a great singer, but when has that stopped anyone?  There's a light shuffle to his step more or less in time with the music.

o/` I sat down to my supper, 'twas a bottle of red whiskey
o/` I said my prayers and went to bed—

It's hard to say what was more shocking, the gloved hand over Nick's mouth… or the several inches of a glass spike suddenly protruding from his ribs.  From behind, Nick's own voice finished the lyric:

o/` —that's the last they saw of me
        o/` Don't murder me / I beg of you don't murder me
        o/` Ple-e-e-ease don't murder me

"Well, at least I have sensible taste in music on this Earth."  One Nick pulled the glass spike free while the original collapsed, gasping, to the pavement.  "Nothing personal, you understand," Killer Nick explained, rapidly relieving Bleeding Nick of his wallet, phone, emergency medical bracelet, and anything else that might identify him.  "I just need to be you, and it'd be damn inconvenient to have you still around.  Huh.  For once I wish it snowed more in the city.  A snowdrift would be a convenient place to stash you while you bled out.  Well, behind the dumpster will have to do."
A few minutes later, a Nick Lytton steps out of the alley, shuffling along to the music.

o/` When I awoke the Dire Wolf, six hundred pounds of sinew
o/` Was grinnin' at my window, all I said was "Come on in"
        o/` Don't murder me / I beg of you don't murder me
        o/` Ple-e-e-ease don't murder me

(the song referenced above is Dire Wolf, for the curious)
