Don Hall

Don Hall formed one half of the duo Hawk & Dove, alongside his twin brother Hank Hall. Don was a close friend of Nightwing and the other members of his small social group of young heroes. He joined the Titans at Nightwing's invitation, though he insisted Hank had to come with him.

In contrast to Hank's rough-and-ready attitude, Don was urbane, cool-headed, and logical. His capacity for observation and strategic planning was a valued asset to the team. Not as strong as Hank, Don was far faster and craftier. His skills as a diplomat and public speaker were a key part of putting the Titans in the public eye. Don's outlook veered cynical from time to time. Don would make coldly rational choices that sometimes hurt his friends and allies. Outside of his identity as Dove he was very active as a campaign manager for conservative political groups in New England.

Don was killed when Doomsday attacked Metropolis in a wild rampage. The Titans were trying to weaken or stall Doomsday enough for the biggest hitters to line up a shot. His death was especially torturous, Doomsday deliberately drawing out the kill to demoralize the Titans. Hank rushed in to save his brother and was struck so hard he went into a coma for three weeks.

When Hank woke, he discovered Don was dead. Heartbroken, Hank burned their uniforms in front of Titans Tower and closed off all communication with his former teammates before returning to their childhood home.
