Doom Attacks

Following his well-publicized space flight in 1990, Reed Richards used his personal fortune to purchase the Baxter Building on 42nd and Madison Avenue in Manhattan, New York City. Achieving media attention thanks to the many technological innovations being installed, the public gathered for the grand opening along with many news outlets.

During the opening ceremony, a colossal airship piloted by Doctor Doom appeared and threatened to rain destruction down upon the Baxter Building and the gathered crowd. Richards, his girlfriend Sue Storm, his friend Ben Grimm, and Sue's brother Johnny Storm revealed they developed superhuman abilities during their time in space and work together to defeat Doom. The airship, nicknamed Doom's "Flying Fortress" is destroyed and crashes into the East River.

While Doom goes missing in the aftermath, live coverage by GBN's Cat Grant captures the whole event in real time. Richards and his family are lauded as "The Fantastic Four" and their career storied career as super-powered adventurers begins.
