Timeline:
* 2006 After over ten years of trying, Dyani is born to Tuari and Mitena Zitkala as part of Navajoland in Arizona. Her childhood is spent a part of the larger tribe, one of many living on the reservation.

* 2016 Dyani goes through a chrysalis, complete with a small cocoon, and emerges as the mutant she is now. Her parents are neither happy nor upset about this, they merely accept their daughter for what she is and try their best to deal with it. The tribe as a whole makes attempts to be supportive and aid the family, but the difference Dyani exhibits makes it very difficult.

* 2019 Dyani is kidnapped by agents of HYDRA and placed in a program with other mutants in which they are collared and forced to become automatons. At this time, Dyani looses all free will.

* 2021 In an attempt by HYDRA to attack SHIELDs Sphere, Dyani is freed from the collar that controlled her. She has no idea how much time has passed, and only a slight memory what she has done during that time. Rescued by Blink of the Brotherhood, Dyani is enrolled at Xavier's for a time, but the stress and trauma of everything she had been through requires her to return home to her parents for a time.

* 2022 Dyani spends the year recovering with her parents and tribe while continuing to practice with her abilities and collecting more stinging insects to her swarm.

* 2023 Stronger, both physically and mentally, Dyani returns to Xavier's school to receive an education, be around her own kind, and hoping to learn more about her unique abilities.

Personality

Defensive:
Having been used as a pawn in someone elses battle, Dyani has become too protective and defensive those she calls friends and family (they are a part of her hive in a way she can't completely explain or understand).

Hive-Mind:
Dayni has a great deal of trouble thinking in the sense of I, she, me. At times it is difficult for her to focus on the singular person and not the total of the minds she is. She can't really empathize with people, though she is starting to understand them better, and rarely understands their feelings without explanation.

Kind:
At Dayni's heart she is kind, it may not always show and she may not understand humanity entirely, but she does try to do the right thing.

Smart a$$:
Dyani's mouth could get her into a great deal of trouble, she doesn't know when to shut up and often at someone elses expense.

Compound Eyes:
Dyani sees the world through the multiple lenses of insect compound eyes. This allows her to process visual information rapidly and react to things much quicker. The twitch and buzz of the average dragon-fly is a perfect example of this.

Flight:
Dayni has dragonfly wings on her back that are fully functioning and allow her flight speeds up to 120mph. When they are folded up behind her, they lay flat against her body like a cape, other wise they protrude straight out to the sides from her body. The construction of her human body is far lighter in nature that the average human of her size, allowing this flight to be possible.

Insect Healing:
If Dayni is injured, insects can be used to heal and regenerate the wounds, as well as form more mass, but never beyond her existing human body size due to the limitation of her mind to keep control of the insects in the swarm that form her. So long as 1 insect survives an attack, she can return over time. This can take a varying amount of time dependent on the availability of insects. If she is in the middle of a swarm, she can heal very quickly, other wise she has to call insects to herself and allow time for enough to arrive to heal her.

If over 50% of the swarm is wounded or destroyed, the remaining insects will immediately retreat as far from danger as possible to begin gathering 'volunteers' to reform the swarm and thus Dayni's human form. At this point in time, there is no Dayni persay, there is only the remainder of the swarm seeking to rebuild the hive that is Dayni. Once the body reforms there is a 'readjustment' period required for her to establish herself as a person again, and not merely a collection of millions of minds.

Telepathy With Insects:
Dayni can talk to and control all types of stinging and biting insects (primarily bees, hornets and wasps, but any that are known for their sting will respond), and even use them to incorporate into herself should her swarm take heavy loses. By incorporating an insect into the swarm for a short time, and then releasing it again, she creates a connection that allows her to see through their eyes, pick up pheromones trails of people, and even hear through them for about an hour or two. Once the time passes, the connection is lost and the insect goes about their own life.

The Swarm:
As a form of attack, or merely for a cool effect, Dayni can turn her entire body into a swarm of stinging, biting, flying insects and control the entire swarm as one entity. Although she is small in stature, the swarm is massive and can encompass a fully grown adult easily. At this point in time, this swarm is like being stung by a swarm of bees. While in this form the insects forming the swarm cannot be separated more than ten to fifteen feet at this time. If any attempt is made to separate them by more than that, they will stop their attack and instinctively return to the starting point to reform. Control while like this is best described as a hive mind working in unison.

Archery:
As a younger child Dyani was encouraged by her parents toward the athletic skills of archery as a part of her culture, for target shooting and hunting. She competed in local competitions, and since being saved from HYDRA has returned to training with a bow.

Entomology:
Dyani knows all about insects, all kinds of insects, from those that are a part of her, to ants, to butterflies. She can and does raise her own hives of bees and wasps, for obvious reasons.

Allowance:
Dyani's parents understand that she is safe and they know she needs to be with other's like herself. They send her a monthly allowance, as does her tribe, to assure she has what she needs.

Archery Supplies:
Dyani has access to numerous types of bows, from traditional Native American designs, to competition strength bows, along with the arrows for hunting and target shooting. These items are kept in a standing trunk that locks.

Tech Googles:
This device (which looks much like the VISOR worn by Geordi La Forge in the television show Star Trek), was created by Henry McCoy to allow Dyani to see normally and thus allow her to read, write, watch television etc. like a normal human. She is unable to see through the eyes of the bees, wasps, hornets, etc. while wearing the device, and thus it must be removed for her to do so.

Anger Issues:
After all that has happened to Dyani, she often has troubles controlling her own anger. It can break free at the worst times, with very little provocation.

Body Mass:
If too many of the swarm are destroyed, Dyani can't reform into her usual body until she gathers enough insects to make up for that lost mass.

Bug Sprays:
Yep, just what you think. They are poison to Dayni and will kill her slowly if she is exposed for too long.

Compound Eyes:
Because Dayni's eyes are constructed like those of an insect, it is impossible for her to see the world as a human would. Everything is refracted light and quick moving images to her, which can be distracting. She is hoping to one day be able to focus on objects so she can learn to read.

Queen Bee:
Though she doesn't understand the nature of it, there seems to be a rare subset of humans and some mutants who react to Dayni in much the way of bees towards a queen bee. Unfortunately for her, this usually results in them trying to keep her completely safe and not wanting her to engage in... well, just about anything really. No work, nothing dangerous, preferring to keep her completely safe and isolated. They rarely believe she's able to come up with the best course of action for herself, and will try to impose whatever they deem necessary to keep her safe.

The person will not do what she tells them, but will continually get her in way if she wants to do anything but sit around and be kept safe.

Sound Frequencies:
Certain frequencies of sounds will cause Dyani to be unable to summon the swarm. If she is already in swarm form, she is unable to reform until she gets away from that sound.
