Personality

Compassionate:
Though he carries a jaded view of the world, Ethan frequents charity events and celebrity fundraisers on behalf of Center Industries. He believes that every child and good person of Gotham deserves to live a long, happy, and productive life. He ensures that his company's many workers are paid well and often donates to political figures who campaign on promises of affordable housing, health care, access to telecommunications, debt relief, and subsidized food programs.

Relentless:
Once Ethan has his mind set on something, he pursues the task until completion. Over the years, and through considerable adversity, this insatiable drive has produced a steady supply of psychological resilience and staggering willpower. Few obstacles are perceived as impossible. When confronted with failure, he picks up the pieces and immediately attempts an alternative solution. Defeat is seldom a path trodden.

Skeptic:
Ethan has always struggled to determine truth from fiction. The unexpected loss of his parents and the circus of an investigation that followed left him dubious of the institutions and narratives produced by individuals in positions of authority. He rarely accepts explanations offered to him by third parties and makes a point to gather as much information as possible about any given subject before passing judgment on it. To some, this is perceived as thorough. To others, it is seen merely as a waste of precious time and resources.

Character Sheet

Powers

Augmented Body:
During a covert mission in the Far East, Ethan's unit was ambushed by forces loyal to a local warlord. Though he did survive this encounter, extensive wounds to his right arm and left hand necessitated emergent amputations to prevent catastrophic blood loss and infection. Thanks to prompt intervention from a team of scientists and physicians employed by Center Industires, these extremities were replaced with advanced (and highly experimental) cybernetics. These prostheses grant Ethan the ability to perform feats of strength that would be impossible to ordinary men -- breaking through stone and wooden structures, bending minor metals, and gripping surfaces for extended periods without fatigue. Though durable and capable of stopping most bladed or blunt weapons, the polymers and nanowave involved in their construction can be damaged by repeated or acute trauma (such as high-caliber rounds or explosives).

Skills

Athletic:
Outside of a regular workout routine, Ethan forces himself to endure a wide variety of exercises in a private setting to hone his endurance and general strength.

Engineering:
Educated by his mother, a brilliant scientist and engineer, Ethan has advanced knowledge of most modern electrical and computer systems. Though it is doubtful he would be capable of disarming a nuclear warhead, he could easily identify the strength of the payload and calculate the distance at which someone must be in order to survive. Similarly, his curious nature and affinity for design has resulted in a number of unique gadgets used during his escapades.

Martial Expert:
Over the years, prior even to his decision to enlist, Ethan has studied and trained under a number of notorious martial arts experts in Gotham and abroad. He has combined several of these techniques into a personal system that focuses on retaliation and prolonged skirmishing, which is employed liberally while prowling Gotham's streets.

Reconnaissance:
Formally trained by one of the most celebrated special forces units in the world, Ethan has mastered many aspects of espionage and subterfuge. He is light and quiet on his feet, highy perceptive, and can keep a cool head under the most dangerous and dire of circumstances.

Resources

Military Technology:
Center Industries is an internationally respected manufacturer of everything from emergency generators to small arms, tanks, missiles, robotics, and dual-appliciation protheses. Ethan has been known to utilize their blueprints and technical know-how in the assembly of his gadgets from time to time. It's not uncommon for one or two of these mass produced items to go missing prior to reaching their final shipping bay.

Sole Survivor:
As the last living member of the Wright family, Ethan inherited his mother and father's extensive wealth -- as well as countless shares in Center Industries, where he now works as a respected financial officer. This money is used as necessary to fund personal schemes and to back allies that share strategic goals.

The Suit:
A dark synthetic underweave constructed from kevlar fibers covers Ethan from his feet to his chin. Over this material, protecting critical areas such as the chest, gut, thighs, calves, and neck, are lightweight ceramic plates. Behind him, extending from beneath metallic spaulders, is a cape which has been enginnered to assist its user in gliding short distancss. The bulk of his head, sabs his mouth, remains concealed beneath a helmet bearing features akin to an osprey. Though this expensive armor may save him from a ricochet or smaller caliber of ammunition, it is clearly designed to maximize maneuverability and stealth over raw protection.

Weaknesses

Electromagnetic Pulse:
A well timed detonation of charged particles can render the man's upper extremities functionally useless until they are replaced or have been rebooted.

Psychiatric Illness:
Ethan has never fully recovered from the loss of his mother and father. His grief has festered and at times manifests in bouts of low or irritable moods, recklessness, or skewed thinking. Though he maintains a smile in good company and for the sake of his position at Center, he stuggles to establish sincere connections with close associates and often believes that he truly does not deserve to lead the good life he wishes upon others.
