Profile
The Fastest Maniac Alive, the Reverse-Flash is in many ways a living contradiction. Intelligent, insightful, observant, yet insane. A speedster with few rivals, the Reverse-Flash is an infamous legend of Central City as one of the few murderers who the second Flash could never completely best. Despite the years tormenting the Flash family, Reverse-Flash is the one that keeps getting away. A man of practically infinite patience, he keeps finding new ways to bring pain into the lives of everyone around the Flashes.
Timeline
Timeline:
2451: Eobard Thawne is born, a product of extensive genetic engineering.
2471: Eobard
graduates from Central City High School and immediately applies for and is accepted into a number of
majors relating to mathematics and physics, with minors in computer sciences at Central City
University. He spends the next five years in college, completing majors.
2476: Eobard applies
for a position studying the Speed Force at the Flash Museum, hoping to find out how to harness the
Speed Force himself to emulate his Idol, Barry Allen, the second Flash.
2478: After years of
failures, Eobard manages to work out the means which allowed Barry to connect to the Speed Force,
and successfully tests the procedure on himself. He unintentionally creates an 'inverted' connection
to the Speed Force, becoming a twisted, cancerous presence on his body, which feeds off of negative
emotions... and begins a slow downward spiral of psychological degradation on his already unstable
personality. He uses this power to emulate Barry as a hero in his time... which further degrades his
sanity.
2479: Eobard decides to try to work out how to time travel like the other Flashes
can... and fails each time. His connection isn't strong enough, and so he uses his knowledge of the
Speed Force to create a complex 'booster' tunnel that would force draw more Speed Force energy for
the job. Being unable to work out how to time travel on his own yet with his inexperience with the
Speed Force, he immediately sets to work on harnessing the device for his own purposes; traveling
back in time to meet Barry Allen. Within a month, he succeeds, but doesn't take into account the
strain the prototype puts on his connection. He miscalculates... and sends himself back in time to
the wrong date and location. The original prototype tunnel is destroyed in a Speed Force
storm.
2018: Eobard arrives in New York during Loki's attack. Confused, Eobard indirectly
gets involved investigating current events, before heading to Central City and confirming Barry
Allen's status. He accidentally discovers the Flash museum on his way, and sees his own exhibit as
Professor Zoom. His already unstable sanity from his inverted Speed Force connection further erodes,
and he has a psychotic break, blaming the Flash for all of his failures and setbacks. Becoming
obsessed with 'getting back' at him, Eobard has just enough reserve Speed Force energy from the
booster tunnel to time travel naturally.
1995: Eobard time travels to the night of Nora
Allen's death, and does the deed himself, framing Henry Allen for it to hurt his former Idol. In the
process, he unintentionally overloads his own Speed Force connection, stranding him in
1995.
1996: Eobard spends the better part of the year doing research on current events and
cross-referencing them with his own historical knowledge. He murders Harrison Wells by stealing
everything of who he is... and masking his own DNA with it, in order to replace him as the eventual
founder of STAR Labs.
2005: After many failed attempts, Eobard manages to restore his Speed
Force connection... only to find out the hard way his original timeline is no longer accessible due
to how long he was cut off from timestream alteration protection; in order to go home, he will need
to search the infinite alternate timelines... a process that could take centuries to him. This
knowledge cements his undying hatred for Barry, and breaks him emotionally.
2008: After many
years of gathering the parts necessary, Eobard creates Gideon in a secret chamber of the Metropolis
STAR Labs building, a quantum computer housed AI designed to assist him in his projects and
historical research.
2011: Eobard watches, hoping that he's managed to undo the creation of
the Flash by ruining his childhood... and becomes enraged when the first sightings come
up.
2011-2017: Despite Eobards best efforts to torment the Flash, it's ultimately the death
of the Man of Steel and sends him into a depression big enough to disappear. Eobard goes into
hiding, monitoring the situation a

2011-2017: Despite
Eobards best efforts to torment the Flash, it's ultimately the death of the Man of Steel and sends
him into a depression big enough to disappear. Eobard goes into hiding, monitoring the situation and
maintaining his timeline for when his past self arrives in this timeline.
2021: Eobard
becomes active again as Professor Zoom/The Reverse-Flash.

Personality
Hatred:
Eobard was originally a distracted, mentally unstable genius with social awkwardness that
worried his parents.
After he found the Speed Force and was connected to it... that same
adorkable man who was obsessed with becoming the Flash of his time became obsessed with the 'love'
the Flashes received, and began trying to find his own place as a hero, even as he obsessed over
figuring out how to time travel with his newfound powers.
Once he traveled back in time and
his future was revealed to him... the knowledge broke him. A mental instability that had been
growing for years, frayed further by the inverted connection to the Speed Force, finally had the
last straw on top that he would never be able to become a Flash... and he snapped.
Now,
Eobard Thawne is an unrepentant sociopath who blames Barry Allen -and by extension, everything
around him- for everything wrong with his life. He was stuck in this prison of a timeline for
fifteen years, with no way home he could trust... all for a sham. Now, he puts his remarkable
intelligence, powers, and abilities towards toying with and making the lives of those around Barry
miserable, as he searches for a way home.
Character Sheet
Powers
Air Manipulation:
Eobard is able to control the local air to a limited extent with his superspeed. Like Barry,
this is not control, but directing currents. He's fast enough to create tornadoes on his own, though
someone with direct control of air can easily negate this.
Chrono Shifting:
Eobard can alter his body's timeline visibly, and on a cellular level. Shifting his apparent age
is easy, it requires focus and access to the timestream to 'pluck' a version of himself from it.
Tampering with his actual age requires time and effort, but is possible. This ability effectively
makes Eobard technically ageless, but he can still be 'killed'.
Cosmic Awareness:
This passive sense allows Eobard to at all times sense any cosmic level beings, anyone from
alternate timelines or dimensions, or people who have time traveled outside their original time, in
his line of sight. This 'sense' is a tingle just on the edge of awareness in the direction of the
being, which grows more precise as he gets closer.
Dimensional Travel:
Eobard can vibrate himself at different speeds and force himself out of phase with his current
reality, shifting at will to others. All he needs to do to go back to his home dimension is to
release the frequency.
This is a TP only power. Eobard has no reason to do this
typically.
Electrokinesis:
Unlike most Speed Force users, Eobard can 'force' the Speed Force into some extremely
destructive and volatile uses. The electrical energy Eobard generates from channeling his Speed
Force is chaotic and unpredictable, making it a potent -and dangerous- weapon, and controlling it is
difficult at best.
Chain Lightning: By focusing the energy he generates, Eobard can blast
anyone or anything with a constant stream of adjustable 'setting' electricity, going from disabling
to 'disintergates on contact with normal humans'. With effort, he can chain this power to leap
around locally for a short time before it needs time to recharge.
Electromagnetism
manipulation: Like Barry, Eobard can manipulate electromagnetic fields local to him. He mainly uses
this to control his suit, like Barry does.
Energy bolts: Unlike chain lightning, this
requires a bit of charge up, but once done, this blast of electricity is lethal and corrosive and
fills an area with highly charged particles that can cause severe electrical damage over a wide
area.
Genius:
Eobard Thawne was a well known and famous Professor in his time, and is a holder of multiple
degrees in his time, even at his young age. He was genetically enginered at great expense to be a
genius, and the results were fantastic.
Molecular Phasing:
By vibrating his body at a base level in different ways, Eobard can go straight through solid
matter. The denser the matter, the harder it is to push through. He is also capable of rendering
himself invisible for short periods of time doing this, though he cannot maintain it for long with
the volatile nature of the Speed Force.
Regeneration:
Eobard heals at incredible speeds with the Speed Force in his system. Bruises and welts from
punches heal in seconds, and bone breaks in around a minute. He's also been shown to be able to
regenerate limbs that have been cut off, though this process can take up to an hour.
Shockwaves:
With a snap of his fingers at superspeed, Eobard can produce a shockwave that can severely
damage his surroundings, up to a block away. The power isn't enough to do serious damage to a
person, but it's more than enough to do material and property damage in a local area and disable
people around him.
Speed Force:
Eobard is capable of entering and leaving the Speed Force itself at will, and is aware of when
other Speedsters do the same. He can also take others in or out with him.
Speed Force Aura:
The Speed Force is naturally destructive and volatile when controlled by Eobard. The aura that
allows him to go around the speed of light effortlessly also by default breaks apart at a molecular
level any projectile that is fired at him by simple proximity (though this protection can be
overwhelmed with enough projectiles, such as a firing line of automatic rifles), and naturally
overloads and destroys electronics around him if he doesn't focus on controlling the aura. By
focusing, he can also turn this aura benign, allowing him to carry objects or people.
This
aura is also capable of passively electrocuting anything he holds constantly... including klilling a
person if held long enough.
Speed Force Negation:
Eobard Thawne is capable of canceling or severing the connection any Speed Force user has to
their Speed Force by channeling his twisted, cancerous Speed Force energy into them in a focused
burst via touch. With enough time, that link can be severed permanently.
Severing in this
manner is player consent and TP only.
Superhuman:
Agility: Eobard -when channeling the Speed Force at least- has far faster reflexes and agility
than any human could have. His only rival in this capacity is the Flash himself. He's quite capable
of outpacing even Superman.
Endurance: Even without a Speed Force aura around him, Eobard's
body is still heavily infused with Speed Force energy, allowing him to shrug off blows that would
send a normal human reeling, including high speed collisions from hitting walls... or falling. It's
quite possible he'd survive terminal velocity from falling, but this hasn't been
tested.
Strength: Eobard is, at normal speed and with no aids, still enhanced over normal
humans to peak human capacity strength. When using the Speed Force to augment his punches with
superspeed, Eobard is extreemely strong, capable of sending cars flying without too much effort,
though he is nowhere near a powerhouse like Hulk.
Mental processes: Without channeling the
Speed Force to augment his mental speed, Eobard is still a genius from a future era. With
augmentation, he's one of the fastest thinkers alive... and he naturally speeds up processing the
faster he goes, to keep up with the needs of superspeed.
Speed: Eobard Thawne is one of the
fastest people alive, only rivaled by the Flash and those connected to the Speed Force. Few others
can even approach his -or their- league.
Time Travel:
Eobard is a natural time traveler. Unlike other Speedsters using the Speed Force though, Eobard
is a living paradox, with his own timeline protected. Alterations made to the timeline by his own
hand do not affect his personal timeline... with one exception: Eobard cannot kill Barry Allen
without breaking his own existance. Without the Speed Force to obsess over originally, Eobard would
never have left his own timeline.
Eobard is not casual with this ability. Time travel is a
complicated art at the best of times... and there's always the chance that he'd end up in yet
another alternate timeline to his original, without the resources he's built for himself. So it's
rare for him to actually use the timestream. (Power is TP only)
Willpower:
Eobard is one of the most willful and patient people around. Despite his hatred and complete
intolerance of this era, he has managed to adapt to it well enough to become a respected and
successful CEO of one of the worlds foremost technology firms.
Skills
Future Historian:
Obsessed with the Age of Heroes time period from his own timeline, Eobard learned everything he
could about this era in an effort to be 'closer' to his Idol, the Barry Allen Flash. As such, he has
extensive knowledge of events in this timeline. Being the selfish but calculating man he is though,
he is unlikely to share this knowledge with anyone without good cause.
People:
Despite his broken mind (or because of it?) Eobard is an expert at manipulating and guiding
people towards the outcomes he desires.
Science:
Eobard Thawne was one of the best scientists of his era, and holds degrees in multiple fields,
including computer science, chemistry, temporaral physics and physical sciences. Since being
stranded in modern times, he has learned modern fields as well, to help blend in with
history.
He's also the foremost expert on the Speed Force, to the point of being a Professor
of the subject in his original timeline.
Speed Combat Master:
Decades of experience with the Speed Force has given Eobard plenty of time to learn and master
his own martial art built around using his power. He's drawn from a variety of sources, but has
invented most of his own specific style on his own. With his skill, he's very capable of taking down
the majority of martial artists in the world. Only those who can keep up with a Speedster have a
chance of taking him on in melee, and the Flash family has to be careful around him, lest their
speed is negated by a focused burst of his energy.
Resources
Flash Ring:
Eobard has the original costume ring that Barry Allen used as the Flash from a time capsule in
his era. He upgraded it with technology from his era to make it easier to handle and maintain, but
his Reverse-Flash friction suit is contained inside of it, ready to be deployed and worn on a
moments notice.
Gideon:
This quantum processor based AI is housed in a chip that can fit into a holographic projector in
his friction suit, but is usually kept in a pedestal in a chamber within the main STAR Labs
building. This AI is part database, part hacking tool, and was designed as an administrative and
sensory tool to give Eobard an advantage in this timeline.
Identity Swap Device:
This device was originally designed to wholesale steal the genetic material of another and use
it to transform the receiver into a genetic 'mirage' of the host receiver. Since originally using
the device to steal the identity of Harrison Wells, Eobard has been able to modify it to store his
original genetic code as well, allowing him with time and a bit of pain to swap to his original
appearance as Eobard Thawne, if he needs to.
Star Labs:
Having stolen the identity of the original Harrison Wells, Eobard has blended into the timeline
by taking on the original man's vision of founding a technology firm to make Earth a better
place.
In the decades since, his vision has been successful, affording Eobard enough money
and resources to build most modern equipment... and conceal any use of futuristic technology from
prying eyes.
Weaknesses
Dead For Centuries:
Eobard is protected from major timeline changes within the current timeline excepting the
collapse of the Speed Force, and as such considers everyone around him expendable to his goal of
finding a way back to his original timeline... and tormenting the Flashes. They've been dead for
centuries to him, and has no qualms about murdering anyone with cause.
Insane:
Eobard is a genius, skilled with manipulating people, and is extremely powerful and
knowledgeable... but his mind is broken, twisted by hatred and an inverted connection to the Speed
Force. His unique connection to the Speed Force is cancerous, and keeps his hatred burning.
Secret Identity:
Eobard Thawne has stolen the identity of Harrison Wells in this timeline and used it to blend
into this reality, all the while remaining active as the Reverse-Flash in his yellow friction suit.
No one knows he is the Reverse-Flash of this timeline, and he works to keep it that way, by any
means necessary short of erasing himself from existence.
The Second Flash:
Eobard has a burning hatred for Barry Allen. He is obsessed with destroying Allen's life for the
hell Eobard's life has become, stuck in this timeline... and despite everything, Barry is the only
person in this timeline he cannot kill outright without erasing himself from existance; Eobard would
never obsess over the Speed Force and time travel to this timeline without him. Erasing him means he
never traveled back in time... and would cause a time paradox that could tear apart reality.
