The jovial and boisterous God of Strength, Hercules has emerged as a hero once more in this new age. Impossibly strong, massive and often underdressed, Hercules takes time from fighting monsters and saving kittens to drink entire casks of beer and sing songs with the mortals at karaoke nights.

Timeline

Timeline:
* 1258 BC: Herakles is born, a byblow of Zeus, King of the Olympian gods. Zeus' wife, Hera, sends a snake to kill the bastard demigod in his crib, only for the preternaturally strong Baby Herc to tie that snake in knots.

* 1236 BC: After a lifetime of being plagued by Hera, Hercules loses his young wife in an attack. Shortly thereafter, he undertakes his legendary 12 Labors at Hera's challenge, proving his worth and power to his father and the other gods.

* 1223 BC: After dying a mortal death, Hercules finds himself raised to the pantheon as his father imbues him with divine might, becoming the God of Strength.

* 1223 BC - Present Day: Hercules has always spent time in the world of mortals between long retreats on Mt. Olympus. He has spent an immortal life of adventure and exploration, seeking out challenges, revelling whenever possible and providing heroism and inspiration to the world. He shows that his strength is more than merely physical, never letting anything get him down or hold him back. The rise of superhumans has made mingling and interacting with the world much easier and he has taken up the role of superhero with aplomb and amusement.

Personality

Bold:
Hercules lives a boisterous lifestyle. He speaks loudly, pushes his way through crowds and generally makes himself the center of attention with relative frequency. He speaks directly and often doesn't have a great deal of a filter, as apt to praise someone's warrior prowess as he is to praise the shape of their buttocks.

Fearless:
Hercules is an immortal god of titanic power and he acts like it. He isn't frightened or intimidated by anything or anyone. He regards himself as someone untouchable and just assumes he'll win any battle he takes on. Something more than courage, it is a degree of arrogance that isn't entirely unfounded.

Jovial:
Hercules is extremely good natured. He has an easy, loud laugh and a sense of humor that ranges from the bawdy and juvenile to the refined. He loves the simple pleasures of revelry and carousing. He tends to be friendly towards strangers and even often regards enemies with a certain degree of friendly rivalry unless and until they prove themselves to be truly evil.

Wrathful:
While he is generally kind, friendly and good natured, Hercules is nonetheless an Olympian god and the son of Zeus. He has a powerful temper once roused, ferocious and brutal in his intensity. Difficult to enrage he may be, he is a terrifying force once the flames of rage are lit.

Powers

God of Strength:
Put simply, Hercules is one of the most physically strong and powerful creatures on Earth. He is capable of titanic feats of strength, easily lifting and throwing full city buses, throwing blows hard enough to rattle mountains and able to leap dozens of miles in a single bound. His incredible physical strength easily overtops the 100 ton mark and he can match pure physical might with virtually any being in existence.

Godstongue:
Like most gods, Hercules possesses an inherent ability to speak and understand all human languages (and those of a few mythic races, such as elves and dwarves and dragons). Alien tongues remain foreign to him.

Invulnerability:
Hercules' physical tissues are hyperdense and extremely resistant to damage. His skin is bulletproof and immune to flame. His body does not suffer damage due to extremes of temperature, allowing him to operate easily in arctic cold or walk through a wall of fire unharmed. He can take the impact of a full-speed bullet train and would only be stunned for a period by the impact. He can fall easily out of a flying plane and land on his feet on the ground unharmed after a fall of over 10,000 feet. Put simply, he's tough as they come.

Olympian:
Hercules is an Olympian god, infused with cosmic power. He is functionally immortal, having aged only a minimal amount in almost three thousand years of life. He does not experience fatigue or require food, drink or sleep (although he quite enjoys them all and often indulges them simply for the pleasure of it). He does not need to breathe, enabling him to operate underwater indefinitely. He is immune to conventional poisons and illness. His physique maintains itself on his own, requiring no physical exercise or dietary maintenance to retain. His tissues regenerate constantly, repairing any of the rare injuries he might withstand in hours or days as opposed to weeks or months.

Skills

Carousing:
Hercules is a party animal. He has a gift for finding gatherings and places to socialize in even dire circumstances. His endless capacity for food and drink often leads him to share such things with others, making him something of a walking, constant party with occasional interludes for fighting monsters or tyrants. He's a fairly good dancer and can sing a thousand songs of the ages (and he's learning the new ones quickly).

Charisma:
Hercules is incredibly likeable. He radiates the charisma appropriate to a god of Olympus, drawing others to him, engaging them and making them feel warm and regarded and liked. He can be extraordinarily charming with relatively little effort, his sheer presence enough to override his occasional social mistakes or anachronisms.

Riding:
Hercules is a skilled horseback rider, capable of riding even in battle situations. The difficult is often finding a mount capable of keeping up with him.

Warrior:
Hercules is an accomplished and capable warrior with thousands of years of experience. He's formidable hand-to-hand, with a raw brawling style born of his innate power and ability to bulldoze opponents with sheer might. He's skilled with a variety of melee weapons, including maces, clubs, axes and swords. He can fire a bow with fair accuracy. He doesn't have any experience or interest in modern weapons of war, most of which he considers cheap and graceless.

Resources

Items:
Hercules holds a variety of magical items, although he generally doesn't carry them with him. He has conventional melee weapons of superhuman durability, capable of doing things like bursting into flame or freezing things they strike. He has an armored hood made of the Nemean lion, giving him a magical shield of protection capable of withstanding even godly attacks. He probably has other things (that can be used for plot purposes) but he rarely bothers, preferring to use his own power and his bare hands.

Riches:
Hercules has gathered a fair amount of treasure through his adventures. He has a rather significant pile of treasure he can access and is often carrying a fair number of gold coins and even the occasional jewel to pay for things in the mortal realm.

Son of Zeus:
Hercules is a god of Olympus and the son of Zeus, King of the Gods. This carries weight and status most everywhere, including literal worship from certain pagan factions who continue to practice the ancient religions. Other pantheons and gods will regard him with the appropriate degree of respect, although it can also result in hostilities.

Weaknesses

Enemies:
The Olympian gods and Hercules himself have made countless enemies over the centuries, some of them of literally Titanic power. These old threats rise again from time to time, often targetting Hercules as one of their first strikes.

Hammer:
There's an old saying, that to a hammer, every problem looks like a nail. Hercules is that hammer. He just assumes he can solve almost anything by putting enough muscle into it. That is by no means always the case.

Headstrong:
Hercules isn't known for his patience. He's impulsive and prone to rush in, often without a plan, just assuming that things will work out. Using strategy or being thoughtful about how he approaches a problem doesn't really occur to him.

Magic:
Certain kinds of magic and especially enchantments and mesmerizing spells work very well on Hercules. His particular mindset makes him relatively easy to trick with illusions or to enslave to the will of a powerful enemy. He has been controlled into wreaking havoc in the past and most likely will do so again.

Too Strong:
Hercules can temper his strength enough to interact with humans, but he is still often stronger than even he intends. He has a bad habit of breaking things or shattering objects without intention and often does a fair amount of collateral damage when he gets into fights.
