Heven

Heven is a reality-adjacent demesne of Yggdrasil and formerly part of The Nine Realms. It should not be confused with the ultimate spiritual afterlife from which descend the Heavenly Host.

Approximately 715 AD, Heven's warriors invaded Asgard's mainland. They were soundly defeated and embargoes and demands for tribute were made of them. In retaliation, the Queen of Heven stole Odin's firstborn daughter, Aldrif Odinsdottir. Aldrif was lost before the child could be repatriated.

Odin severed Heven from Yggdrasil's branches. Magic became a rare and hoarded commodity and the residents of Heven grew old, infirm, and even died of old age. Only a rare few were able to tap into the trickle of power that remained.
