Profile
Dr. Karl Lykos, better known as Sauron, is a scientist-turned-dinosaur with an obsession for turning the world into his own personal Savage Lands. Once a somewhat renowned geneticist and doctor, now the butt of many jokes as he has turned into an obsessive nutjob based out of the Savage Lands.
Timeline
Timeline:
* Aug 1986 -- Born
* Jun 1998 -- On a trip with his father and Mr. Anderssen to Antarctica, attacked by pteradons while protecting Anderssen's daughter, Tanya. He was greviously wounded, and his father was killed. Adopted by Anderssen afterwards.
* Sep 1998 -- Recovering from his wounds back in the States, he discovers he can drain lifeforce from other living creatures (plant, animal, people). He is both horrified and intrigued. He begins to do some in small doses to help him recover faster.
* Over the next few years of turbulent teenager growth, he falls in love with his adopted sister. He also is top in all his classes, very intelligent, with a love of science and fantasy fiction.
* 2000 -- Savage Lands discovered. This intrigues Lykos. He has been obsessed with dinosaurs since the attack.
* Jan 2004 -- Anderssen catches his daughter and adopted son fooling around at home. He puts his foot down about the relationship and forbids them from seeing each other.
* May 2004 -- Graduates high school, valedictorian. Has earned a full scholarship to a major, prestigious university. Tanya attends a different school across the country.
* May 2013 -- After years of throwing himself into his studies, he graduates with not one, but two PhDs, in psychology and genetics. His adopted father still refuses to allow him and Tanya to see each other, though they have been doing so in secret throughout college, long-distance.
* July 2013 -- Goes to the Savage Lands to study the Pterons and other intelligent creatures there.
* Sept 2013 -- Attacked again, but this time draws the life force of his attackers to defend himself. This causes his first transformation into a Pteron. The feeling of power and invulnerability he has in the form overwhelms him, letting his darker side take over. After several hours, he returns to his human form, but then he immediately begins seeking out how to become a dinosaur again.
* Sometime in the late 2014-2015 range -- Befriends Charles Xavier, works with the First Class as a fellow mutant doctor. However, his hunger gets the best of him, and he draws too deeply from one of the students he is treating, transforming him again. With his darker tendancies more prevalent in his dinosaur form, he battles the X-Men and loses, leaving while still in dino form.
* 2017 -- Drains an unnamed mutant to the point of death during DOFP. This overloads his transformative powers, leaving him locked as a Pteron perhaps permanently. Establishes a permanent base of operations in the Savage Lands near the city of those he now considers 'his people'. Decides he must turn the world into dinosaurs.
* 2020 -- Pretty much up to his same shenanigans.

Intelligent:
Despite his obsession with dinosaurs like he is the X-Men's five year old brother, Lykos is extremely intelligent and passionate about learning and science.
Obsessive:
Karl Lykos is an obsessive man. Obsessed with dinosaurs, with his 'true love' in his adopted sister Tanya, with proving himself to the world.
Character Sheet
Powers
Hypnosis:
In his pteron form, he can hypnotize other people and animals. He must make and maintain eye contact to do so.
Life Drain:
Lykos can drain lifeforce from any other living being, strengthening and healing himself in the process. He must be in physical contact to drain.
Were-Dinosaur:
Lykos transforms into a large Pteron intelligent dinosaur when he absorbs enough energy from other living beings. Currently he is stuck in this form.
Skills
Actual Science!:
Lykos is a skilled geneticist and psychologist, and his dual specialities have left him with some knowledge of general medical science as well. He is a decent general practioner.
Psychology:
He understands what makes the human mind tick, even if he doesn't apply that often to himself and his motivations.
Weird Science!:
This guy is simply obsessed with dinosaurs, and he has some interesting genetic theories regarding the transformation of humans into such without losing their human minds. He is legitimately a mad scientist, and is willing to try and work on crazy things most others won't consider.

Savage Lands:
Sauron is known to the people of the Savage Lands, and particularly the Pterons are his allies he can call on when needed.
Tanya:
His one true love, Tanya may not understand his obsessions, but she loves him dearly and will defend him or assist him as she is able.
Weaknesses
Hunger:
His life draining abilities keep a perpetual hunger inside him. He is always drawn to use them, even if it's not in his best interest.
Inner Five Year Old:
The guy is obsessed with dinosaurs. He will stop doing something actually useful to return to this obsession at any time.
Tanya:
He would do anything to help her, or defend her, or make her happy. Period.
