Profile
A small, scrawny, and wholly unnassuming young girl that can freeze water and form it into a giant ice golem. Outside of the golem, however, she's simply another one of Gotham's many homeless residents, struggling to survive day-to-day.
Timeline
Timeline:
* 2001: Maya was born to Russel, a butcher from New York, and Naomi, a second-generation Japanese immigrant. Naomi dies during childbirth, and Maya is seen as the cause.
* 2008: Maya moves to Gotham City after her father moves his business there.
* 2009: Maya befriends a young boy in elementary school, Jacob. They go to school together throughout middle school.
* 2010: Russel begins to punish Maya by leaving her in the freezer of his shop, giving himself peace and quiet.
* 2015: During middle school, Jacob is revealed to be a mutant. His mistreatment at the hands of other classmates, and distrust the teachers show him, causes him to drop out of school, leaving Maya friendless again.
* 2017: Maya begins high school at Gotham Academy.
* 2019: After a big fight, Russel locks Maya in the freezer again, and leaves her there. Initially thinking she'd freeze to death, Maya instead tapped into previously unknown mutant powers, freezing ice to her arms and breaking free of the freezer, before killing her father with ice spikes and fleeing into the streets.

Personality
Introverted:
Maya is rather timid most of the time, and avoids attention, if she can help it. She's quick to panic and run off, but if inside her Glacier, she's much more confident.
Reckless:
Both inside and out of her Glacier, Maya is much more likely to try something big and bold, if the rewards significantly outweigh the risks. Being flat-broke also makes even the smallest of jackpots seem that much more tempting.
Self-Defeatist:
Being the local punching bag for much of her life, Maya doesn't think too highly of herself. In her mind, her contributions to a group are never the most important, her powers are never the strongest, and any losses are likely her fault. That's not to say she can't enjoy a victory and relax from time to time, though.

Powers
Cryomancy:
Maya's primary power is the manipulation and freezing of water. Any water she's actively touching begins to rapidly freeze, until completely solid. Once frozen, it can still be manipulated, though it's much stiffer than water, naturally.
Water must be in contact with Maya herself for her to manipulate it, though she can extend this through a body of water for about 12-15 feet. Gloves interfere heavily with the control she has over water, and anything thicker than basic cloth cuts off her powers entirely.
Other liquids, from soda to acid, can be manipulated, but the less "water" it is, the more difficult it is to freeze. Physical contact must still be made, too, making hazardous materials less viable.
The Glacier:
Maya's namesake ability, and an extension of the first time she used her powers. With enough water, Maya can create an eight foot tall ice golem for her to control from within, boasting strength far greater than herself. Both arms end in large spikes, making fine motor control difficult, at the cost of combat potential. Her legs are large, stompy slabs of ice, capable of crushing bone. Inside at the center, however, the faint outline of the Glacier's pilot can be seen.
Maya's cryomancy is much weaker while in her Glacier, mostly limited to repairing it's body.
Having her Glacier shattered and exposing her to (relatively) higher temperatures so quickly renders Maya unable to reform the golem until she acclimates once again. Colder areas, thus, let her reform the Glacier quicker.

Weaknesses
Flat Broke:
Maya is jobless and homeless, getting by on whatever she can find. Rarely does she have more than a dollar or two on her person.
Fraility:
Outside of her Glacier, Maya is quite weak. She's short, skinny, and completely unskilled in any form of combat that doesn't involve being an eight foot tall tank of frost and death.
Even within her Glacier, anything that can crack ice, such as super strength or a heavy hammer, can shatter her in seconds.
Fugitive:
While there isn't an active warrant for her arrest, Maya is still very much a person of interest, regarding her father's mysterious death just a few years ago. Multiple large stab wounds, no trace of a murder weapon, and a girl gone missing. It wouldn't be hard to piece two and two together, if one catches her.
Heat:
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that fire is a good way to neutralize her. While a low body temperature can shield her from a hot summer day, extremely high temperatures can fatigue her quickly and melt her ice, if not evaporate it entirely. Even her Glacier only protects her from the heat for a little longer.
