Personality

Dutiful:
Medusa grew up knowing the value and the burden of responsibility, instilled by her formidable mother. A person in her exalted position is there to serve others however she can, and she strongly believes in that guiding principle of duty. If she can make a situation better or extend a hand to another, then she will. It is selfless behaviour born from the privilege of her birth and a lifetime of discovering the strength she finds in aiding her people. There is real joy to be had in channelling her energy into a cause that lifts up everyone around her. She finds peace and purpose in the pursuit of a higher goal. At a subconscious level, Medusa has seen the abuse of power. She fears becoming a tyrant or so comfortable, so inured to suffering that she doesn't care.

Headstrong:
The Amaquelin women are not retiring conformists, even Medusalith. She projects an amiable, slightly stern outward image, but very much remains her own person. She knows her own mind, and anyone who refuses to listen to her is sure to see her inner fire boil to the surface. Unlike her sister, Medusa maintains her dignity when butting heads with others, governed by her ideals. However, once she makes her mind up, good luck changing her course. She hates nothing more than being coerced or cornered.

My Fair Lady:
Medusalith looks to each day as a new beginning and a fresh opportunity. Circumstances that cast a pall over her life, notably the coup and the overthrow of the Genetic Council, left her determined not to sink into despair. She embraces hope and kindness as her weapons against the cruelty in the world. Strength comes from believing the best in people and the world. She isn't incapable of standing up for herself or expressing her anger, but Medusa would much rather focus on the good and embody positivity.

Powers

Inhuman:
Medusa is a full-blooded Inhuman subjected to terrigenesis in childhood. She has the amplified abilities of her race. She has physical abilities exceeding those of a super soldier, like Captain America.

She can run for hours or exert herself strenuously without experience fatigue. Her flexibility and agility exceeds the finest Olympian, allowing her to perform physical feats like running across narrow ledges or catching thrown objects with her hair. She is strong enough to throw a car or hold up two tons unsupported. Her reaction times are similarly enhanced to superhuman levels, though far from a speedster or Spider-person's skills.

Trichokinesis:
Medusa can psionically control every strand of hair due to a telekinetic field she projects around her hair. Her hair is normally about 2.5 meters long and wavy, though it doubles in length when fully relaxed. Her hair possesses the tensile strength and resistance well exceeding steel, more on par with tungsten and spider silk in superior qualities. Each inch section can hold two tons. Collectively she can hold up to twenty tons, though her attacking force is halved. The psionic field around her acts like telekinesis to support the weight, while her body is unaffected. Whip attacks with her hair exceed the speed of sound, and when she hardens her hair, the strands can have a cutting edge like a sword or bludgeon someone like a bat.

Medusalith's terrigenetic mutation allows her to use her hair in a number of phenomenal ways. It can shield her, be used to climb, and transport her and others to safety. She has used it as bulletproof armour on occasion. Her hair acts like an additional prehensile limb with the finesse of human hands thanks to biopsionic feedback. With concentration, she can command separate locks to perform multiple delicate actions, like typing on a keyboard, picking a lock, and securing a resisting combatant. She is limited to four such actions at a time as long as she is largely still.

Her hair cannot be cut without her dampening her psionic field. She "feels" through the psychic imprint of her hair through its full length.

Skills

Combat:
Medusalith can hold her own in a fight, trained by Karnak himself. Her personalized style weaponizes her hair as a shield for blocks, bindings, and even whips or blades when engaged in a fight. She is skilled at hand-to-hand fighting but prefers to keep her distance as much as possible.

Computers:
Attilan is an advanced society technologically, and Medusalith has always been in a fully networked environment. She has average programming and network security skills by her culture's standards, but by Earth terms, she is a very capable professional able to write her own apps, decrypt, or bypass many security measures. She can adapt to programming languages readily.

Diplomacy:
Medusalith chose the path of advisor and courtier in Attilan, and her lengthy education included politics, law, leadership, personnel management, and conflict resolution. She has excellent ability to read other people and manage groups to a common goal. An asset in negotiations, she can gently drive a hard bargain with hostile parties as easily as conduct a gala to forge a peace treaty. She knows the words to defuse a charged situation or to incite one.

Linguistics:
Medusa can communicate in the Attilan sign language of the royal court. She is fluent in Nepalese, Mandarin, and Hindi due to the refugee Inhumans from Earth. She can read Kree and understand it at a moderate level, but isn't able to hold conversations.

Music:
Medusalith plays the violin and the viola well, and several other stringed instruments unique to Attilan. If she gave a public performance, she would certainly be able to charm an audience.

Piloting:
Medusalith's father insisted on teaching her how to fly on the Moon, using sleek yachts and two -seater craft. She mastered the basics and can operate a variety of pleasure craft with agile ease. She finds flying is one place she can let her hair down.

Thievery:
Medusa learned about how to survive from a petty criminal she made the acquaintance of in Metropolis when she began her forbidden sojourn. From him she learned the basics of lockpicking, snatching sleep in alleyways, and how to case a place. She can swipe food if she needs to and avoid unwanted attention from security cameras, guards, or cops. It's not a skill she would ever admit to having, but she will use it if she needs to.

Resources

Alternate Id:
In 2022, Medusa established a secret alternate identity, Isabella Blake (born 04/13/1995). She has fake ID, including state ID, driver's license, passport, and school records to prove she graduated with a computer science degree of Metropolis University. The ID is solid enough to stand up to reasonable scrutiny, not serious searches.

Contacts:
Medusa's time on Earth, though short, opened up contacts in the business and street-level worlds. The six months prior to her 'official' arrival gave her a small but valuable network of online connections, a few petty criminals, and respected business people in Metropolis who could be called on to help her in exchange for favours and goodwill.

Inhuman Royal:
Medusa has the status as a lady of the Royal Family of Attilan. Her cousin holds the throne. On Attilan, she enjoys the privileges of a royal cousin, including a place to live in the palace, covered expenses, and guards. Reasonable requests for aid or resources are at her fingertips. To other spacefaring races, she has the status of a diplomatic envoy and the protection that entails. This status is mostly useless on Earth, where Inhuman presence has been hidden for centuries.

Staff:
In Attilan, Medusalith has three loyal friends employed by House Amaquelin who covered for her on her Earth-bound jaunt and otherwise manage her affairs. They're technically handmaidens but she grew up with the three women. One bears close enough resemblance to Medusa to pass for her, and often has in the past.

Weaknesses

Family:
Medusa has strong bonds of affection and loyalty to her family, and by broader extension, the Royal Family of Attilan. She puts their needs before her own. If they need her, she will sacrifice her own happiness or gains in favour of them. Her love for her parents is strong, but she has a protective stance towards her younger sister, Crystalia. She wants to see Crystalia thrive, making up for the deficiencies in parental affection while they were growing up.

Medusa's friends and family are easy targets for her enemies. She would never stand by and allow them to be hurt.

Inhuman:
Medusa, like all Inhumans, has unique genetics distorted by Kree tampering millennia ago. This creates multiple weaknesses:

* Kree Enmity: The Kree hate their creations, and the feeling is mutual. They're likely to attack her on sight.

* Pollution Sensitivity: Medusa is heavily affected by prolonged exposure to pollution. If she's in a badly contaminated area longer than a day, she will start to fall ill, like she has a bad flu. After a week, she will be in real danger. In a normal city like New York, it takes her a month to feel problematic effects. She needs to spend at least two days in a rural area or the Moon to purge the pollutants from her body.

Notoriety:
Medusalith scandalized Attilan society when she broke a long arranged betrothal to Blackagar Boltagon publicly. She did not want to marry or be queen, though she left on good terms. Many traditionalists in Attilan view her actions with suspicion, suspecting she might be in league with Maximus or planning her own revolt. Medusa refuses to engage in speculation. Gossip could be exploited by her enemies.

Psychic Bias:
Medusa watched her cousin, Maximus, twist minds and implant suggestions to further his dark schemes. She was powerless to stop his abuse of power, and that failure lodges deeply in her heart. She is suspicious of telepathic powers, particularly when wielded by people in authority. Losing her own will is her worst fear, and even a brush of suggestion that she knows about would cause her great distress. Medusa doesn't go out of her way to accuse psychics of abuse of power, but she can't easily trust them

Sheltered:
A life spent sheltered in the Attilan royal court deprived Medusalith of significant experiences. She didn't encounter serious crime until adulthood during a royal coup. She never needed to work to pay for food, shelter or pleasures in life. Her sojourn on Earth cracked that door open, but her reality differs from everyday people. The school of hard knocks is a brutal one.
