OSS

The Office of Strategic Services was a wartime intelligence agency of the United States. It closely liased with MI6 and Special Operations Executive as well as other allied intelligence and clandestine agencies. The Strategic Scientific Reserve was a joint Allied scientific division that fell under this command.

Many OSS and SSR officers would be handpicked to help found and staff SHIELD following the creation of NATO.
