Orisha

The Orisha, aka "The Four-hundred and One," are a large group of Godlings with strong influence in Africa's western regions. They are the pantheon of gods worshipped by devotees of the Yoruba religious tradition.

The area that the Orisha live in is said to be so populous that it would take a person a thousand lifetimes to explore their demesne, and they would still not encounter all the gods and places within. Olodumare is the leader of the Orisha, and brainchild behind the Compact of Alkebulan.

The rest of the gods and goddesses of the Orisha are Esu, Ogun, Shango, Obatala, Oya, Yemaya, The Orisha rarely appear on Earth's plane; in fact, Olodumare has never stepped foot outside of their demesne. Their aversion to not wanting to get directly involved in earthly affairs led to conflict with other gods, goddesses and other supernatural begins in their own demesne. The conflict was cause by group of gods and goddess wanting to aid their worshippers that were being stolen to other lands. Olodumare saw the future and did not take an active part in ending the war which cause the war to last for centuries. The war ended when one member of the rebellious group named Bondye was able to create their own demesne. They would be known from this point as the Loa or Lwa. Peace between the Orisha and Loa was made shortly after the formation of the new demesne with Ogun serving as Mlinizi, the inter-pantheon ambassador and guardian for both Orisha and Loa.

One section of their vast demesne is occupied by the Ajogun. Few among the godlings are aware that the Ajogun are an off-branch of the Fae. The Ajogun are tricksters, not exactly evil spirts. They are mysterious beings even to some of the Orisha. Most Orisha do not venture into their area of the Ajogun.
