Team 7

Team-7 was an iteration of an un-named anti-metahuman combat command, part of US-SOCOM operation under a special operational mandate similar to the charter for Stormwatch. Many of the Team members were metahumans or had metagenetic potential. Given the Cuba Arms Treaty, their existence was a violation of both US law and international peace policy. Team X operatives were pulled from projects related to the DEO and Project: CADMUS. Weapon Plus agents were periodically recruited as well.

Team 7 was activated in 1990 and placed under the command of Slade Wilson. Over the next decade his team conducted covert combat operations all over the globe and even on US soil. Their expertise was in hunting and tracking metahumans, and either capturing them for research purposes or assassinating them outright.

In 2001, Slade Wilson defied orders and crossed the border into Somalia to rescue William Wintergreen, who had been captured in action by militant members of Al-Shabab. Many Team 7 members joined him and the fallout from their operation led to demotions in rank and early retirement from the military for many of them. Blackballed professionally and with most of their careers a blank page of unknown, unsanctioned operations, they drifted into obscurity or became mercenaries-for-hire.

Alexander Fairchild was promoted to command of the newly installed Team 8. He held this position until 2010, when he discovered CADMUS had been manipulating his biological progeny, Caitlin Fairchild, and cloning her to produce a perfect supersoldier. The raid that liberated Caitlin lead to Alexander's death and the dissolution of Team 8.

As of 2020, Team 10 is US-SOCOM's operational metahuman interdiction unit.
