Theron is the son of Hades and Persephone, born shortly before Persephone's yearly return to the Underworld and cast down to Earth by the still bitter Demeter. Having not recieved a proper godhood before being cast down, by obscure Olympian law, the Gods were forbidden to retrieve him, the godling needing to earn a place amongst them by his own merit before being allowed to return. To give the baby a chance, Zeus allowed Persephone to divinely inspire an older couple into taking him in and raising him with the knowledge of who and what he is, and the vague requirement on what must be done to earn his birthright.

Personality

Dour:
When in quiet places where he can take off the mask of inspiration, Theron is actually quite restrained and thoughtful, preferring long periods of philosophical reflection and contemplation.

Driven:
Theron knows what he is, and knows that if he can win the right to climb Mount Olympus, he will be bestowed his birthright, true godhood. This thought is never far from his mind, and drives him constantly on to seize what he believes to be his destiny. However, this same self assuredness can easily make him bullheaded, and easily manipulated by clever forces.

Larger Than Life:
Theron puts on a public display of grandiosity, acting with fire, affecting a gregarious personality, and overflowing with a pride that will rush to meet any challenge, no matter how foolhardy and ill-advised it may be.

Protector of the Cycle:
To all things there is a season. Bounty, then withering, then death, and finally springing forth into new life to start the cycle anew. To be apart from this cycle is a special privilege and responsibility. Those who would willfully defile this order, or pervert it by attempting to escape it, are the worst of criminals, and no allowances may be made for them.

Respect:
Whether it be received or given, Theron believes strongly in the proper respect being afforded. The rudeness of the worthy being denied their due courtesy is outrageous to him, and a slight he is slow to forgive, barring only the most extreme of circumstances.

Powers

Allspeak:
Like most divine beings, Theron is gifted The Allspeak, innate knowledge of all languages throughout existence. However, as the name implies, this only allows him to SPEAK any language, it does not allow him to read any language.

Immortality:
Even denied true godhood, Theron boasts the same level of immortality all Olympians have. While he has not quite reached his absolute prime, once there, Theron's aging will permanently stop, allowing him to persist until the inevitable heat death of the universe, and theoretically beyond even that. Furthermore, no mundane force can cause him any true harm. No matter how extreme, up to and including total obliteration, Theron will regenerate from any injury, the time required roughly determined by how extreme the harm caused. He is not totally indestructable however. Potent magicks enough to threaten a god can easily kill him, or worse, and even should he survive, will take far far longer than even the most extreme mundane harm to heal from.

Superhuman Physique:
While practically a chainsmoking cripple compared to a true God of Olympus, Theron is still well beyond your normal mortal. He can lift over a ton above his head, run over fourty miles per hour, and tires at only a tenth the rate an equivilant Human would.

Skills

Combat:
Theron is no ancient warrior, trained by the greatest masters the world has ever seen. He is young, and his training was in the fields outside his home village with the other kids, learning to scrap and wrestle for fun. While he was certainly the best of any fighter there, much of that came down to his naturally much greater strength, speed, and weight. The only weapons for which use is more than improvisational, are the bow and spear, tools used for hunting and fishing, with which he has the expected level of skill for his background. Namely, minor.

Resources

Parentage:
Theron is a son of Hades and Persephone, and while the pair cannot, and in Hades case most likely wouldn't if he could, provide any form of direct aid, their names hold weight in many circles. Their names can open many doors, some of which may be better left shut, and those with a reason to care for the Gods opinions may be inclined to treat him differently for the relation. Furthermore, Demeter still bears the Lord of the Dead a grudge for losing her daughter to the Underworld every year, and is perfectly willing to lash out against her grandson Theron for being an immortal reminder of this.

Weaknesses

Challenged:
Beyond simply being denied aid from the Gods of Olympus, without warning, some may choose to make any situation he's in more difficult, be it to aid him in his quest for worth, or to spitefully hinder his efforts.

Foolhardy:
Discretion is the better part of valor. Unless you're trying to prove worthy to be a god. Even when it REALLY should still apply. Theron's fixation on achieving his "destiny" leaves him all too happy to take up challenges he can't possibly have any reasonable hope of winning, even if it may endanger others if he believes the chance to be glorious enough.

Illiterate:
While Theron can fluently read Modern Greek, most places in the world do not use that as a primary language. As such, Theron is effectively incapable of reading all but a handful of small common words in English, and even then only with a fair bit of time to work it out.
