Personality

Awkward:
Toni, like many hyperintelligent people who are not named Tony Stark, is rather socially awkward. Add in her queerness, and she's just a bundle of social anxiety and would rather just tinker.

Dedicated:
Toni is incredibly dedicated to her job. She's here to help people, and whatever she can do to help, she'll do it. This is not always a good thing for her, but she's just wired to help.

Sassy:
Toni has a bit of a mouth on her. She, more often than not, has a snarky retort for almost anything. This is not always a positive trait, but it's a defense mechanism built up from her years in public school.

Workaholic:
Toni is a workaholic. She loves doing what she does, making things and solving problems. She's often found in the lab late into the night, developing tools and weapons for S.H.I.E.L.D. and using her Iron Patriot armor as a testbed for some of them.

Skills

Multilingual:
Toni fluently speaks English, Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), Tibetan and Nepali.

Power Armor Pilot:
Toni is an experienced power armor pilot both on the ground and in the air, and while not expert works to find new ways to use her armor in new situations.

Prodigy:
Toni is a genius, having earned a scholarship to Caltech where she overlapped her studies to complete three doctorates by age 24. Like her father Ho Yinsen, she is brilliant at conceptualizing and constructing technological devices and further modifying, adapting, and improving those devices over time. She has an excellent memory and an talent for thinking outside the box. Given enough time and resources, she has the technological background to build all manner of inventions as she conceives of them..

Technology:
Toni keeps track of the great minds of the world and their technical inventions and innovations (even Tony Stark). She has a good grasp of what kind of technology is out there and who is a specialist in different fields. This means she knows who to ask for assistance when she's stumped, though that doesn't mean the expert in question will want to help her.

Armor Systems - Defensive:
Toni's armor systems generally focus on defensive over offensive capabilities, particularly in a search and rescue or emergency service capacity.

Durability: The Mk I has partial armor over a Kevlar air-conditioned bodysuit, capable of resisting small arms but not heavier weapons or impacts. The Mk II is better armored, with external vanadium alloyed metal making it effectively immune to most small arms fire and able to withstand explosions or energy impacts for a time before taking critical system damage. It incorporates an internal gel matrix that protects the wearer from concussive impacts or rapid motion.

Life Support: Toni's armor can seal and run for a limited time on an internal air supply for operating underwater, toxic, or vacuum environments. It can operate in extreme heat or cold with some discomfort.

Strength: The servomotors in Toni's armor are capable of comfortably lifting up to 30 tons. With additional power rerouted and safeties disengaged, this can be pushed to around fifty tons, but with damage likely to the armor and possibly wearer.

Force Field: The Iron Patriot armor is based around a powerful force field generator with emitters in the chest and gauntlets capable of stopping more powerful or area based attacks, such as missiles or super-strength punches or energy blasts. The field can be shaped for a variety of tasks into various geometric shape, or can be used as a crude cutting instrument if formed into a plane. In emergencies, the generator can be pushed to function at much higher levels, though at an increased power drain, giving it perhaps minutes at best before the suit loses power. Toni's Stealth armor defenses are built completely around a force field system capable of completing stopping small arms fire up to anti-material rifle levels but breaking down rapidly under more powerful or sustained fire.

Armor Systems - Offensive:
Unlike other power armor users, Toni prefers to focus on utilitarian and nonlethal systems over pure weapons, but acknowledges that sometimes offensive systems are necessary to protect herself and others as an agent of SHIELD.

Repulsors: Toni's armors (grudgingly) include basic repulsor systems, though she lacks the more powerful unibeam installed on more militant armors in favor of her force field generator. This high-density muon beam has an adjustable aperture that can be fired from the gauntlet palms, with adjustable power levels ranging from the equivalent of a punch to focused enough to penetrate tank armor.

Gas Pellets: Instead of micro-missiles, the Iron Patriot can fire air-pressure launched gas pellets that can contain a variety of gaseous payloads made to detonate at specific distances. Standard loads include smoke, chaff, tear gas, and pepper, capable of covering an area roughly thirty feet in radius at a range of 300 feet.

Microsonics: The Iron Patriot armor incorporates microsonic devices that create wave at frequencies that can cause nausea, discomfort, and disorientation. The sonic effects have an effective range of 50 feet and can be used on single targets, in a cone, or as an area effect around the armor.

Concussion Beam: The Iron Patriot armor incorporates a shoulder-mounted laser pulse beam which ablates the surface of a target to create a small amount of exploding plasma, creating a small pulse of electromagnetic radiation that can disrupt unshielded electronics and cause a painful, disabling sensation in nerve cells intended to stun light targets and knock them down. The beam can also be used as a continuous beam to push or crudely manipulate large objects, with varying strength depending on area and focus of the beam.

Patents:
Toni has registered several profitable technological patents based on her force field and medical sensor technology, enough to make her comfortable and to where she can have enough resources to repair and build technological devices over time for personal projects.

S.h.i.e.l.d.:
Toni is an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., with all the rights, responsibilities and drawbacks that brings. As part of Science Division, her research budget is, while not limitless, exceedingly high and it lets her get a lot done.

The Armory:
Toni has built three armors in her career.

Mk I "Zhengjiu" ("rescue" in Mandarin) is an armored exoskeleton over a bodysuit, and her first armor design built in her college years.

Mk II "Iron Patriot" armor was her first real power armor completed shortly after she was hired by SHIELD and is her current armor, built around a powerful forcefield generator in the breastplate in addition to other systems.

Mk III 'Stealth' armor is more properly a concealable armored exoskeleton with limited capabilities that relies on force fields and an image inducer to be low visibility, and can be worn under clothes. Her armors contain the following standard systems:

Flight: Toni's first two armors can fly or hover in air or space using vernier thrusters built into its boot, back, side, and front and capable of just over supersonic speeds. A unique element is that armor thrusters have been tuned so that their exhaust does not produce concentrated heat. Her armor can 'swim' through water (if noisily and inelegantly) at speeds comparable to a torpedo using the same system. Her Stealth armor lacks this function.

Interface: While the Mk I and Stealth have a simple HUD and verbal command system, the Iron Patriot armor is equipped with a voice-activated Virtual Assistant (VA) that can assume basic control over the armor in an emergency. The armor is coded to Toni's voice and biometrics, but can be overridden for other pilots in an emergency.

Sensors: The Iron Patriot armor incorporates a multi-spectrum hazard sensor system including sonic, chemical, biological, and radiological sensors in addition to simple light amplification and thermal vision modes. It incorporates a telecommunication system (satellite, wi fi, radio, and cellular) and an external adaptive connector that allows it to interface with computer systems. Her Stealth armor incorporates a very basic version of this system, essentially a light spectrum/sound/basic forensic scanner with a built in cellular system.

Power Systems: Toni's Iron Patriot armor runs off rechargeable internal batteries, limiting their operational time for about 24 hours of standard use, or 6 hours of full powered use before needing to be swapped for new batteries. Her Mk I armor has a paltry three hours of operational time but is built to plug into an external power source if needed. Her Stealth armor can passively project a force field for about two days but will rapidly run down should the field begin taking damage.

Weaknesses

Daddy Issues:
All of her problems, her workaholic nature, her resentment, all of it comes from the fact that she never got to say goodbye to her father. That he never got to see her excel. That instead of trying to survive through any means necessary, he sacrificed himself to get Tony out. He had -children-, and he died to get the playboy out instead of coming home to his kids. She's still pretty messed up about it.

Nonlethal:
Toni is pacifistic in nature. While she can use some of her armor's systems offensively, they are intended first and foremost to be only utilitarian or defensive technology; she actively resists adding any purpose-built weapons. This can leave her undergunned in a battle with opponents resistant to her nonlethal methods.

Orphan:
Toni's known family has all passed away, including her parents. She has no extended family she's in contact with, and no other family relationships remaining.

Resentment:
Toni resents the hell out of Tony Stark. She knows that it's not his fault her father died in that cave, but she sure wants to blame him. Her resentment is, honestly, what drives her most of the time, to prove that she's just as good as he is, at least to herself.

Workaholic:
Toni is married to her work. She regularly forgoes food and sleep for more time in the lab. For more time to perfect her projects. She's young, but every day she skips food or sleep is taking its toll. One day it will catch up to her in the field, and it may be fatal.
