A Zeta Beam is a class of (relatively short-range) interplanetary teleporter. These devices function similarly to a Boomtube, piggy-backing off the network of interconnected energy that forms the mental network of the Demiurge. Zeta Beam technology originates on Rann but is being introduced slowly to Earth by the members of GIRL.

It was discovered quite by accident when Hank Pym and Nadia Pym-van Dyne were working on deep-space telemetry equipment. They were unaware of parallel efforts being done by the scientist Sardath of Rann. Zeta Radiation from the Rannian war modified Sardath's signal and created a quantum entanglement event with the sensors the Pym family were working with. The presence of Pym Particles spontaneously folded a number of members of the Ant Family into a temporary sub-space dimension and deposited them on Rann, much to the surprise of all parties involved.

Without Pym Particles, Zeta Beam transit requires both a sending and receiving platform, which are quantum locked. A localized area of space time is folded over and the exit vector redirected to the 'receiver' signal point. Unlike Boomtubes, the travel is instantaneous and there is no portal or wormhole effect. All the liabilities of a Boomtube, including destabilization and neutrino emission, remain the same.
