Satana      A good demon is always on time, or early. A bad one is late, and laughing about it. Today, the daughter of Satan is on time because she's in a good mood, swishing her way into the coffee shop in a black and red entrance that makes the male heads in the room turn- if only for a second. No matter the temperature, she refuses to cover up completely, after all. She lets her eyes dart to the menu, but then scans the room for her companion. Monet has been an interesting discovery, since Satana has been dealing in the worst of the worst, listening to their lies and excuses. Sometimes a girl just wants honesty and a good beverage.
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix is currently there to meet her coffee companion for conversation. It's one of the odder arrangements, perhaps that has happened to M. But the other woman is an interesting conversation companion and someone that M can approach as an equal. So when she would notice Satana, she would go to raise her hand up ot wave.
Satana      "Hey there!'' the demonic lady says with a smile, striding over. "'Good to see you. Had an awful disagreement today with a fellow," perhaps whether or not he deserved to be eaten, "And I could use a nice visit to cleanse the palate." Social, isn't she?
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would nod at Satana, "Ah, I hope it didn't upset you so much." She would go to cross her arms lightly while gazing at the demonic lady. Not mentioning her opinion of 'deserved to be eaten'. Waste not, want not after all. "It's nice to have a competent conversational prtner."
Satana      "Isn't it, though?" Satana says as she walks towards the counter, "And it wasn't too bad. Just some people, you know? Rotten to the core, but in such denial about it. I hate it when people try to claim that things aren't their fault when they've blatantly done them," she says with a roll of her eyes. "What are you thinking of getting to drink?"
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would look over the menu,"I feel like I should have something to satisfy something properly sweet but also properly flavored. There is an art to preparing drinks of a sweet nature that are not pure sucrose and syrup. Would you care to help pick something out?"
Satana      "Hmm. A challenge indeed. Are you a tea person? I'd suggest a half-sweetened chai tea, in that case, with something other than cow-milk. Tempers it a bit, not so rich," she says. "In fact, that sounds divine, I might have one with some cinnamon for spice. I like my spice," she says, all smiles as she peruses the menu, not finding anything she wants more than her suggestion.
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would nod, "Yes, that is a good suggestion." It's only polite and it's a reasonable one. She did ask the other woman for her recommendation. "That will suffice." Her going to order two of the requested drinks, the put some money up on the table for it and a small tip. "So have you managed to find yourself anything of proper entertainment about the city?"
Satana      "Oh, I'm just laying low for the moment. It's crazy out there. But people watching is always fun. Particularly in this city. I missed it when I was back home," she says, watching as the drinks are prepared. "So I've just been doing a little research, but the books I need are hard to come by. But if they're anywhere, they're here." The drinks are made up and slid over, likely less sweet than her usual decadence. "You mentioned you were in school, correct? Studying anything in particular?"
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would go to take the drinks that would be placed forwards. "I'm sure that most of us are of amusement. I am not hte person to ask on local.. Research sources. There are a large number of specialized archvies. And I simply seek to make myself -better-." M sought perfection. One could never satisfy themselves for anything less. "I must always learn and improve myself. For now I study nothing in particular. And what do you happen to think of the angelic invasion of Manhattan?"
Satana      "Hey, some are enjoyment, too!' Satana points out. "All kinds of enjoyment," she says wistfully, producing a deep, sultry sigh. Her top strains to contain her bust. Either the powers of hell or tailor's tape keep her decent. Perhaps she's been eating more than she's been enjoying other pleasures as of late. "One can always improve, that's true. Better than stagnation. And... oh? The invasion, hm? That it is," she says bluntly, making a face. "I'm just steering clear. I assume they're all insane things."
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would nod, "That sounds quite appropriate. It appears that Heaven also has it's share of.. Imbecilles the same way that the Hellish realms do. Of all the things to be universal and a part of sapience." She would sit down.
Satana      "Oh, there are idiots all around," Satana agrees. "But you learn to find the bright spots in heaven, hell, or the in-between. "Besides, Heaven isn't usually big on dissent. Hell has the potential to be a lot more fun if on is a non-conformist. You know... levels," she says as she looks for a place to sit, seeing a table she likes. It's occupied, but she simply says, "Move," to those sitting there, and they pick up and get out of her way.
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would let Satana sweep the others out of the way. "I appeciate your efficiency." She would bow her head to the other woman's effectiveness. "While I would not support any such restructuring, I'm sure that it is within your talents hsould you wish to pursue it to attain such upheaval."
Satana      "It's so nice that you believe in me,' Satana says, sprawling in her new seat, arm around the back of it. Steam from the cup billows around her features as she takes her first sip- scalding as it may be. The heat doesn't bother her. "MM. But yes. I'll have to check out this city for some books... tomes, really, big, heavy things.... to liberate from their owners. I don't suppose that's of interest to you?
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would wrinkle her nose, "I am a St. Croix. I do not have to resort to such things when I can merely tell them who I am and what I want and I will receive it." Egomaniac, much? "However in circumstances where their procurement could be attained via monetary means within reason I might be persuaded to assist so long as something of equivalent value was available for exchange."
Satana      "Where's the fun in buying it? Where's the thrill? Demanding things is fun, but taking them... ah, the looks on their faces when they realize it's gone. And what would you want in exchange for money, whilst we're on the topic?" she asks. "Don't worry, I won't whip out a contract. I'm not even carrying any in my coat."
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would smile at Satana, "Of course. I can understand such things and the thrill of them and the skills of thsoe who do it. And I can respect your abilities. But I would not wish to bargain iwh you without extensive preparation and research before even presuming to be able to negotiate. You would outmatch me exponentially." She likes her soul intact!
Satana      "What, you're worried I won't take payment in cash alone? Honestly, we just said most people are idiots. I could lay out every detail and they'd nod like morons and sign whatever to get what they want without thinking about it. I barely have to be deceptive," Satana says. "And I can always listen to wants and needs without acting, I promise. Cross my little black heart," she says, swishing a finger over her chest.
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would laugh softly, "Thank you. I shall take that as a compliment. And your skills at distraction are.. Beyond comparison for most." She would take a sip of her drink. Thoughtfully and almost distractedl for a moment. "So what do you seek while you are in this dimension? Or do you wish to explore?"
Satana      "They are, aren't they? Though they're easier on men. I like women better than men in most things anyway," Satana says. "Men are fun for some things, but not all. And they do lie to me more. Mostly trying to procure me for their own purposes," she says, then sticks out her tongue. "They always think they'll get what they want. No, no. They get what I want. And in this dimension, I think I do want to just explore and have a good time... and maybe do some light reading."
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would nod over at Satana, "I see. So do you find them more appealing aesthetically or on an interpersonal level?" Her taking another sip of her tea, paying attention. "And all shall pine for you and pay the penance?" She would look amused. "I hope you find yoru reading as enrapturing as your pursuit."
Satana      "Oh, hm. There are some gorgeous men out there, but women are more beautiful. I don't know that I've had a meaningful relationship with a man romantically. Not truly," Satana says, thinking it over. "But I likely see them differently than most do. I don't mind the pining, that's just life. It's what people do with that that sorts the sinners from the saints," she says. "And what of you? What are men to you?"
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would shrug, "I do not know." She would say after a few moments of consideration. "I have never held a relationship nor pursued one. I do not fully have an idea of what appeals to me beyond what I find aesthetically pleasing. I respect those whom are intelligent." Said with the uncertainty of someone that was giving a moment of vulnerability.
Satana      Satana doesn't pounce on the vulnerability. It is interesting, though, and she's gentle in response. "No harm in it. People often lose themselves in pursuing carnal pleasures," Satana says. "So many people would do terrible things for love, for relationships. And they do. Perhaps seeking out intelligence is the way to go in the long run. Proper companionship and compatibility... but if you do go buck wild, tell me after," she says with a wink.
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would twitch her lips upwards, "You are a very wise woman." She would reply up to those words. "Thank you. And.. Carnal pleasures, perhaps. Should I feel the need to engage in them I can attain something I find acceptable." And she would outright laugh at Satana.
Satana      Satana laughs in return, "Well, that's VERY true. I am wise, aren't I?" she says, beaming. "You're a cutie, you could snag any guy you want. Honestly, it's not hard. The things they say, I swear. In one of my extracurriculars, I've had to handle a lot of them, and they think they're so clever and suave. Some truly are, but it's a rarity," she says. "It just depends on what pleasures you seek if you want the fleshly kind," she says, waving her hand dismissively. She does not seem like the type to get too attached.
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would shrug, "I do not particularly care if others take me for that or not. I do not particularly care as to how they evaluate me or what thier concerns are. If they are worthy fo my time and attention, then I will ensure that they have the proper attitude to engage with me. And thank you. I find pursuits of the mind far more engaging than most carnal ones. Often, at least."
Satana      "I meeeeean..." Satana draws out. "The carnal ones can be fun, but I think we're operating on different wavelengths on that front. They're a hobby of mine."
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would laugh, "I appreciate your mind and perspectiv upon the world. I find that far more engaging than anything physical, which at best holds one's attention for the short term."
