Owner Pose
Ted Kord Ted Kord had merely advised Stella to dress really warm. He was taking her somewhere for a surprise and to meet him out front. As for himself... he had his uniform on, it being insulated and heated. As long as he was going with the uniform he simply walked off the roof. His aero-discs deployed flawlessly, flying onto his boot soles. Otherwise this would be a much shorter story and he flew down to the plaza in front of his building, made a beeline for his slim friend with every intention of scooping her up and treating her like a princess in every other way.

If she let him. She had this neat trick with kinetic energy. He flies towards her arms out, does a slow turn to show off and waits for the all clear to scoop.
Stella Roundtree      Stella has heeded the call to bundle up, in a black and gray houndstooth coat and insulated black leggings. Her hair is in a long mermaid braid with a little black hair tie at the end, keeping it out of the way. A purse is slung over her shoulder, black leather with a minimalist wolf stamped into the material as she waits at the front of the building.
And thankfully she isn't prepared to fend off aerial attacks, because she's scooped! She screams for a moment and her hands go up. One can see the slightest disruption in the air around them, but then they drop. "TED! You scared the hell out of me!" she laughs.
Ted Kord Ted Kord frowns. then he laughs. "I was really trying not to. Honest. You must have been deep in thought or something. How was your workday?" He gives her a peck on the cheek as they fly over mid town, high enough to avoid buses and trucks, holding her in a classic princess carry. "I was actually going to invite Booster but, he's doing some work for me. I double checked. He's speaking to a superhero who wants a discounted phone. Hellarokufirestick or something." Cue happy, sappy expression till he dodges a pigeon. Probably thinking of dousing her with dimond studded minks, their pockets full of season passes to her Ohio ball team games.
Stella Roundtree      "Just pestering people for invoices," she says. "Almost all cleared up for now, so I can start lab work and testing later today or tomorrow if you like," she says, pushing the pigeon a little farther away with a gentle budge of her powers. "I guess heroes would probably go through phones a lot, huh? Either breaking them or losing ear pieces," the brunette says. "But hey, wherever we're going, happy to have more people join us. I think. Unless it's a massage, that would be weird," she says.
Ted Kord Ted Kord flies around a corner scaring hell out another flock of pigeons. "Oh, Stella where it concerns you and me, a massage is never out of the question, including foot rubs."

Suddenly they are there, Rockefeller Center. Ice, giant statue of Atlas Johnson or whatever his name was. People iceskating, some staring and bumping each other. Ted shoots down to the rink where Bobo waits with two pairs of skates.

"I got you skates. Bailey got me your shoe size. I waaaas debating getting you a mink jacket too but figured too ostentatious. Right?"
Stella Roundtree      Bump, bump, move, the winged rats are pushed away with slight alterations to their trajectory. Hearty things, they redirect and forget the matter in seconds. "OH gosh, that would have been way too much. No furs. We lived near a fur farm for a while, and I am too aware where they come from. Though I do have a lot of leather. Uh oh, I might be a hypocrite in that arena," Stella says, thinking on this for a moment. But there are skates! And so she lets that thought drift away. "Bobo, thank you so much!" says the brunette, reaching out for her skates. "I don't know if you'll be able to keep up," she teases Ted. "I did youth hockey for two whole years and I was medium-good at it," she says with a grin. "Honestly, probably should have stuck with it once my powers came in, would have made it interesting," she mutters. But she's ready to get those skates on and show off a little!
Ted Kord Ted Kord starts getting the skates on the discs flying onto his backpack. He takes longer than she does but it's just girls are better at laces and such... not checking her out.

Ok. Her kineto-kinesis may be her second most amazing feature.

Bad Ted. Pretty sure she could stop your breathing if you pissed her off and like 70% of Mutants are telpathical.

"Yeah? You played hockey with those teensy feet?" He teases before jumping onto the rink and doing a spin. Ta-Daah.

Yes. He is that agile. And annoying.
Stella Roundtree      "I was ten! We were all pretty small," she says as she laces up her skates, "And we have a pretty long winter, so there's lots of time to skate outside, too..." she says, trailing off after he starts off into the rink. He is pretty agile, but she finds it amusing. She's on her feet in a second, very confident. And why wouldn't she be? Falling down doesn't seem to be a concern of hers, whether she even makes contact or not! She skates off after him, mindful of others as she picks up speed. Though a few wobbly skaters may find themselves more stable when she passes by.
Ted Kord Ted Kord look on appreciatively and falls in along side her, trying for handholding.

"Oh, ten. I was thinking middle school. I want to see pictures sometime... or do I need to start hacking, put men on your tail. Nah I'm kinda saving that for myself." Waits for the arm punch.

Apparently he is showing off, running a heating system and other electronics to give her quite a show.

"You are full of surprises. Uhm listen, I hope I'm not out of line by offering this. The new Bug needs an extended flight, couple of hours at least. If you want a lift to Ohio that won't take an overnight flight, I'll be glad to take you. You can see the folks and say 'hi!'"
Stella Roundtree      She allows the handholding, though much less impressive next to his fanfare. It is nice to get such attention. "Be patient!" she says, but doesn't punch him, as much as he may deserve it. "People who get things too quickly don't enjoy 'em as much as when you take your time," she says, skating alongside him. "But I would appreciate the ride. I wouldn't mind getting some of my stuff to take over to my apartment," she says. "My lease goes until April, so no big rush to clear out my apartment THERE, ether," she says. "But I miss some of my things!" She nearly bumps into another skater, but they're guided away as she goes, giving her a good buffer of a foot or so.
Ted Kord Ted Kord drops her hand to take her by the waist at the imminent collision. He lets her go as soon as the danger is past and resumes handholding. Superhero reflex? He listens to her talking abut patience. "True. But, having it all and losing it, or watching your attempts to work for a goal fail... that makes you appreciate things as well. I'm rich but I made my money myself, twice. I lost people close to me. Money doesn't make you happy. It lets you do whatever you want while you're miserable. Anyway I'll take you when our schedules allow and I don't have to tag along with you. I mean you have family to deal with. A deranged guy dressed as a bug may be a distraction." He gives her hand a squeeze.
Stella Roundtree      "It's too soon for you to meet my family," the brunette says as they make their way around ice. "And I hear you, it's understandable that you're worried about losing things, what with your past losses," she says. Her voice seems close to him than it should be, like she's talking through headphones. Private conversations, after all, should remain so. People skating near them don't ever seem to get too close, either.
"So I'll take that into account. You don't need to go overboard. This... this is kinda perfect. This is nice," she says, gesturing to the skating rink. "It lets you show off a little," she says, patting his shoulder, "But it's not something so big that there's too much pressure on me. That'd be scary. Besides, it can be hard getting to know someone. You make up what you think they are, and then you're either correct about it or wrong, and sometimes the wrong can be hard to deal with. You might not be as into me in a month, but I hope we'll still be buds," she says with a smile.
Ted Kord Ted Kord grins. "I thought you'd like this. I agree it is too soon to meet your family. I'm toning it down for future dates. I don't need a lot to be happy believe it or not. Uhm, I did arrange for Nick Drago. But after that I'll limit myself to say five hundred thou..." Registers expression, 'Five hundred dollars a date, sound okay?"
Stella Roundtree      "Yeah! And... oh man, you did? That'll be so much fun to meet Nick Drago in person," the short mutant says as they make their rounds on the ice, passing by couples and groups of friends. "But I appreciate that you can done it down. New relationships are like... well, I'd say birds, usually. But for you, a bug analogy seems 'bout right," she says with a grin. "You hold it in your hand, let it explore, but don't hold on too tight, or you'll squish it! So yes. Multiple thousands of dollars per date is too much, but limiting yourself seems very smart. For the bug. I am the bug in this analogy," she says, bumping lightly into him. He'll feel a counteracting force on the other side, making sure he doesn't get knocked off course.
Ted Kord Ted Kord lets a small meep out as he is squeezed gently. "Hugs from a distance. You just keep surprising me. Yeah limit on dates. I work more creatively under restrictions. I mean I may bring my gear along sometimes if a situation arises. Not counting all this." He indicates himself and spins again giving her a look at electric Ted.
Stella Roundtree      "See? No problem," she says. "And I look forward to seeing what your creativity can produce," she says, watching him spin. The lights she sees from the electricity is much more hypnotic than even just a guy in a costume on skates can provide.
