Ted Kord Ted Kord rose early and Stella seemed to want to make some science so he called her down and confronted the petite Mutant with an array of balls, football, softball, golf ball and finally a couple marbles and a rubber slingshot. He looked at a pile of paperwork with Booster's writing on them and sighed. "Well I contacted this HellaRokk (?) guy, or his answering machine. I guess he'll get back to me. ... for a big guy from the future... Boost has lovely handwriting."

Yes, Hella was misgendered, a feat impossible were she present. But we will get to that in a bit.

Bailey, the tiny girl bot, comes out of the kitchen bearing a huge plate of pancakes. Little homemaker! Bobo helps her by taking the plate then tries to grab the credit. Not happening. Ted pats the little homemaker who flies off happily.

"Go make a pitcher of your mimosas, and coffee. Stella likes those and she's coming, but I think this may be too early for her."
Stella Roundtree      The short brunette (though she will argue she's of average height, just small compared to other superpowered individuals she now seems to spend her time with) is... awake. Barely. How Ted awakens so early with pep in his step is a mystery to her as she arrives. She's prepared for SCIENCE! in workout gear, a long-sleeved shirt under an Amon Amarth band shirt, black running pants, and a pair of sneakers. Even getting into that with her hangover was effort, but things seem to be picking up.
"Hey. Morning," she says. She refuses to commit to if it's a good or a bad one yet. She is perking up at the scent of breakfast food, though. "I am ready for you to throw things at me," she says, eying up the pancakes with a rumble in her stomach.
Hella Rokkurdisardottir     When Hella received the message from Ted, she was a little confused, at first. Wasn't Booster supposed to bring the phone to her, when it was done? But, thinking on it a bit more, it totally makes sense that the creator would need to test the limits to see just what, exactly, needs to be done to protect her phone in the best way possible. Duh, Hella!

Thankfully, Hella's still off work and all of her University work is taken care of, so she has free reign to do whatever she wants! And, what does she want? A DURABLE PHONE! Yes, indeed! So, she gets herself dressed, smooches Brimstone g'bye, and heads out of her apartment. She takes an Uber to the location Ted listed in his communique and makes her way inside without any hesitation.

She pushes the doorbell to announce her presence.

Standing at 5'10", the Nordic beefcake is wearing her long, white-blonde hair in twin french braids, each trailing down her back. Despite the cold outside, she wears only a light tracksuit jacket in crisp white with pale pink accents. Across her back, in varsity font capital letters, reads ROKKUR. Beneath the jacket, she has on a tight-fitting t-shirt that's pink with a super-cute, puffy white cloud with a face and blushing cheeks at its center. She wears a white pair of cargos that fit her very stylishly, and a soft pink pair of fashionable sneakers. She's built. Very well built. Imposingly so, to many people who encounter her. But, her face is pretty and her body language is very casual and warm, her hands lightly tucked in her pockets as she waits for the door to be opened. When it does, she greets her greeter with a bright smile that dimples her cheeks, and equally bright pale blue eyes that sparkle just a little.

"Hyello~! I am Hella Rokkurdisardottir! Is pleasure to meet you," she says cheerily in a thick Russian accent, her voice feminine and soft despite the slightly loud volume, and her tongue snapping those rolling 'r's with breathtaking precision. She holds out a hand for shaking!
Booster Gold     Have you ever seen one of those Scooby Doo cartoons where the smell of breakfast wafts in a long sinuous cloud of smoke, tickles the nostrils of the character, and they somehow float in the air, still asleep, limbs hanging limply on either side of their body, as if carried by some floating wire wrapped around their midsection?
Aided by harness wrapped around his waist, Skeets is carrying the still sleeping form of Booster Gold towards where Ted is hard at work, presumably on the custom white phone with silver trim that Booster /insisted/ he work on, pronto, and get done by today. The energy field around Booster crackles, suggesting that his flight powers are helping assist the small golden robot with the task. He bobs up and down though, which has the effect of making it look like Booster is walking on an invisible stage with his arms flailing about this way and that. If the robot had facial expressions, one could almost imagine that he is smiling with his own amusement at making his master dance.
The slow and languid approach of robot and hero continues, and it even sounds like Booster may be snoring a bit. This raises several questions, not the least of which is - does he really sleep in his power suit?
While the smells may be enticing and luring him in, or perhaps it is just Skeets responsible, the sound of Hella's introduction jolts Booster into wakefulness. Which, unfortunately, occurs a few feet off the ground. The spasmodic twitching and thrashing of limbs threatens to not Skeets of course as Booster starts howling something about it being "go time" and the "fourth quarter" and "don't worry mom I did it for you" all at once. Eventually the words crystalize into an actual cogent statement from the Blue and Gold Idol of Millions.
"Skeets! What the hell - put me down!" An ill-advised, instruction, perhaps, or just a failure to account for the robot's malicious compliance.
"As you wish, sir." The harness detaches from around Booster's waist, and apparently the flight of the suit is deactivated as well - perhaps Skeets really /is/ strong enough to carry all of Booster's weight - depositing him into a pile of limbs at the foot of Ted and now Hella.
A few colorful words float up from the pile as it slowly untangles itself. "I'm going to give you to Ted to dissect like he keeps asking," murmurs the Golden Arm of the 24th Century before he opens his eyes to look up at the shaking duo. "Hi Ted. Hi Hella." A twist of head. "Hi Stella." A pause. "That rhymed."
Ted Kord Ted Kord looks back at his forms after a bot opens the door for Hella. "Ah yeah... Says here you're a female," he mutters. He didn't get past the firefighter part and the Class 25 strength. He is shamed by his sexism, but not for long.Suddenly there's an avalanche of Booster and he steps back as there is quite a lot of Booster.

"How do you do? I'm Ted Kord. I'll be with you in one minute... " He goes over to Stella, and asks, "Do you feel all right? You look out of focus." He reaches over to touch Stella's arm with a concerned look.

He's also pretty sure she's going to feel like she's hanging out with giraffes. This happens when people of average though respectable height hang around with supers.
Stella Roundtree      If not for her ability to soften sounds, Stella might be wincing. The lights are so bright. The people so loud. But at least the soundwaves that grace her eardrums are muted. When she speaks, her own accent is midwestern, any '-ing' softened to lose the 'g' entirely. Her voice is warm and friendly, despite the pinpricks of pain tormenting the backs of her eyesockets. "Yeah, I'm good, just havin' a time waking up." Little does he know that this is a normal Tuesday for her. She gives Ted's hand a pat and straightens up.
Her tone shifts from slightly dying to chipper as there is a new person to meet, and rudeness is not acceptable. And so she smiles, "Hey there, Hella! Nice to meetcha," She reaches past Booster to offer her hand towards the buff, pink-clad woman to shake, "I'm Stella Roundtree, I have nothing to do with any of your phone-getting, but always nice to meet someone new. We're having pancakes, I think, if you're hungry?"
She then then turns her gaze down to the pile of dude that's working his way out of slumber. "Morning, Booster," she says, grinning down at him. Someone else is having a slow start to their morning. It's nice not to be alone in that respect when the other half of the room seems disgustingly conscious and active.
Hella Rokkurdisardottir     Hella's handshake gets intercepted by the kind, lovely Stella, who shakes her hand and receives a firm-grip, but it's been pretty much perfected to not be too firm! She even tries to ease it up a bit more for Stella's sake, since she seems to be in some sort of sensory distress. She glances at everyone in the room and just grins. What a tableau!

To Stella, Hella's smile is big and friendly, "Hello, Stella Roundtree. Pleased to make acquaintance." Her voice is just naturally kind of loud, and she has no idea Stella hears things much better than others. Oof! Big oof! To Ted, she offers a half-grin and chucks her chin genially at him, despite the fact he skipped her handshake and somehow thought she was a guy! "Hello, Ted Kord," she says with a nod of her head.

Then, her head is tilting to meet eyes with Booster who is further in, "Good morning, Booster." Her voice is warm and there's a lightly teasing note in it as she grins at the slightly disheveled superhero. "Icon of Millions," she adds with a pursed smile, as though she's holding back an amused laugh.
Booster Gold     What once was a tangled mess leaps up and somehow tangles on the way up, as Booster lands on his feet, full super-hero pose - fists on hips, chin to the air. "I meant to do that." A little more Molly Shannon and less Paul Reubens. "No one told me it was a party in here." Booster looks over towards Ted's working space. "Is it done yet?" He points at the piece of paper which has WHITE WITH SILVER TRIM scrawled on it in big letters, with a heart drawn around it. For emphasis, of course. "I told you it had to be done before I got up." He pauses. "Which is totally why I was sleeping in. To help you out." He leans back a bit and speaks over his shoulder in a hushed tone which is totally audible to everyone. "Skeets, I told you to /wake/ me, not /bring/ me."
The golden robot, however, has ceased paying attention to the Great Golden Guardian and instead floated over towards Hella. "HELLA, my favorite non-Sir person!" He starts ramming her in the breadbasket, gently of course.    Booster chuckles at Skeets and glances to remark at Ted - "BURN!" - before turning his attention towards Skeets' favorite. "Hey there. I thought I said I'd drop it off?" He flashes a grin. "Just couldn't wait to see ol' Booster Gold in action again?" It is that blindingly brilliant sort of grin that hovers between creepy theme park clown and televangelist.
Ted Kord Ted Kord sees Stella is managing. He gives a whispered order to another bot, Bingo? It shoots off and enters a storage room. There's a small crash and Bingo returns with a briefcase he places on the coffee table.

"As I was saying, I am Ted, known as the Blue Beetle. I'm sorry I did not greet you properly. things get a little crazy here." He takes her hand if she'll let him and places it between his two hands. that's a large and very warm hand and still has a feminine grace to it.

"Please sit down, help yourself to breakfast. I'll be interrupting to give you things to break or melt. Now I see you're a firefighter? There is absolutely no charge to you. I'd consider it an honor to kit bash for one of the Bravest. I'm slao bringing you sme swag from the gift store. Stella, you're included in the swag for sure. You are owed it for putting up with me." He indcates the couch to the others and waits for the ladies to sit.
Stella Roundtree      Stella's handshake is decisive, and then released. "Icon of millions, huh?" Stella says, feeling a little better about her morning already. She slinks over to the couch, plopping down with a little bounce and gets ready to consume. "Hey, I'm not going to turn down new goodies," she says as she eyes the suitcase. But the mimosas also look tempting, and she soon has a glass in hand, taking a deep sip of it.
Hella Rokkurdisardottir     Hella's reaction to Skeets is immediate and full of delight! She laughs as he plows into her midsection, causing no damage at all. She coos happily, petting the little robot-friend, "Hello, yes, hello, Skeets! My favorite robot-friend, yes, you are~" She seems pretty caught up in giving Skeets a proper greeting, though she's not meaning to snub anyone else. Cute little rocket-shaped robot-friends deserve a real moment of full-on attention to feel adequately cherished!

As Booster sidles closer, grinning and teasing her, Hella tucks Skeets under her arm, in a football-hug, and lifts her sparkling blue eyes up to his and gives a crooked smile, the dimple on that side deepening. "Ted summoned me," she says, raising her brows and smiling sweetly. "But, you're right; I've been dreaming about you and your million-watt smile," she winks. Is she being honest?! That grin, though. Maybe? Is hard to tell!

Hella smiles and nods at Ted, again. "Nice to meet you," she replies. "Though I'm new to superheroing, I've chosen Discord as my supername. Is because I really like picking fights with bad guys! What do you think?" she asks the room, looking around for input. Then, she's reminded about food and her expression brightens again. "Oh, I can /always/ eat. I will put on my manners for you, though," she says graciously to the room. "Otherwise, I eat you out of house and home!" she laughs genially.

With that, she makes her way inside, scooping Booster up into a one-armed hug that still somehow manages to feel very encompassing, and gives him a bit of a /squeeze/ before releasing him -- though, she keeps Skeets in her other arm, hugging him to her side. "Thank you for having me," she says warmly, sitting at the table, looking with interest at the briefcase and its contents.
Booster Gold     A series of sounds comes out of Skeets that can only be described as robot happiness. Like a kitty. Without claws. But definitely a kitty.
"Ah, good. I told him that your phone needed to be white with silver, and be done today. So I guess he brought you over to science you up." Booster looks over at Ted for a moment, and nods, before looking back at Hella. "It might be a bit, honestly, but all jokes aside, Ted is the best there is what he does - and what he does is pretty darn nice!" Booster cocks an eyebrow at that, as if somehow sounds familiar, but shrugs it off. "I'll just stay out of the way and watch. I can't wait to see you melt everything he throws at you!"
Once released, he makes his way over towards Stella, offering her a quick half-head nod. "How you doin'?" He drops down onto the couch - far enough away to be polite, but clearly intending to keep her company while Ted sciences the hell out of Hella.
Ted Kord Ted Kord sits down between Stella and Hella, a little closer to Stella. He foregoes the pancakes for science for now. Also is not sure if Bailey understands human eating preferences. He opens the case to reveal a number of silver gray metal slabs about a half inch thick. He takes one and hands it to Hella. "Here, break this." He looks over at Stella for a moment and pours himself a cup of coffee he drinks black.
Hella Rokkurdisardottir     Hella snuggles Skeets for a while as people begin eating, releasing him with a whispered promise to give him cuddles again, later, so she can have a turn at the pancakes. She definitely waited for everyone to have a chance to eat, though, before she digs in. Because, well. It's not that she eats at lightspeed or anything, but she does inhale the food, pretty much. She doesn't eat messily -- unlike a sloppy brother of hers might do, cramming pancakes into their mouth, oblivious to the syrup streaming down their chin and into their beard. No, Hella is very lady-like and well-mannered in her table habits... But, she does eat quickly, and she eats more than the average person. Four helpings of pancakes? Yes. At least. She appears to prefer milk with her pancakes, foregoing the mimosa, despite how delicious they are. "Oh, these..." she gestures to the pancakes when she pauses to dab at her mouth, "...are excellent pancakes, Ted. Did you use fresh buttermilk?" she compliments him on his food. She isn't sure, with all the robots around the place, if he cooked them himself or not!

Hella looks in interest at the briefcase full of slabs and accepts the first one from Ted with a smile. "Is okay to break? You sure?" she verifies before she continues. It's like...someone bending a drinking straw in half. It's that easy for her. She shapes it into a nice little cuff bracelet and puts it in front of Stella. "Here you go," she says with a big grin. "Next?" she holds out her hand and smiles to Ted.
Stella Roundtree      "Doin' pretty good, Booster," the brunette replies. "Looks like things might be going very well for you, huh?" she asks, giving him a wink. But there are other matters at hand.
Pancakes. Everything she needs right now is on the table. More than love, more than money, more than just about anything is food to settle her stomach. But the little bracelet is cute, and she pops it onto her wrist with a girly giggle, "Why thank you, it's perfect," she says, holding out her wrist like she's admiring Cartier or Tiffany. 'Rokkurdisardottir' could be a brand, but it might take people a while to get their syllables in order, and it might be hard to fit on a box.
And then it's back to pancakes. She has a decent-sized stack, soaking in syrup, and she intends to make it disappear!
The pulsing in her skull slows and starts to disappear. "You know, I might have been able to get up faster this morning if I knew we were doing jewelry-making."
Ted Kord Ted Kord stares at the new bracelet. He looks over his samples and hands her a slab marked #4. "Try that." He makes a couple notes. "I was never happy with sample one. Actually it comes from LexCorp." He takes another sip of coffee. Bailey flies out from the kitchen with a truly enormous stack of pancakes. She sets it between Stella and Hella. ted notes Stella seems to be doing better as she makes all gone with a big stack.

She. must do a hell of a workout.

But that is obvious.
Hella Rokkurdisardottir     Hella beams at Stella as she, without hesitation, slips the bracelet on. She's utterly delighted that Stella is delighted! "I didn't know I'd be making jewelry today, either, but is pleasant turn of events!" she laughs, sitting back and resting her hands over her tummy, her fingers laced together.

Hella accepts the next slab with a smile. "Don't take it personally if I can easily bend or break them all. Is my main skill, being strong!" she attempts to reassure Ted with a friendly thump on the back for emotional support! With the next slab, #4, Hella has no trouble bending it, again. It's not as easy to mold as the first slab, but she still turns it into a metal balloon animal of a little doggy. "Ah, I make art for you!" she smiles and deposits it in front of Ted.
Booster Gold     Booster gives a slow of towards Stella, his gaze focused on Hella's display of power. And that's just the pancakes so far! "Hmm?" he says to Stella. Then he nods as if somehow her question was played back in his mind and he actually /listened/ this time. His cheeks flush for a moment as he speaks a little quietly towards her. "I mean...she's delightful, and somehow I think she actually sees me for me." He tilts his head a bit. "I don't know. I feel like don't have to perform so much." Then he clenches his jaw and shakes his head. "Gotta stop with that," he murmurs under his breath.
Then comes the display of strength, and Booster's jaw drops. "Daaaaaaaaaaamn," he says. "How can one person be so damn hot AND do damn strong?" Then his face turns red. "Uh, you know what I mean, Stella, uh, the thermals!"
Silently Booster thanks Rao that somehow an energy perceiving mutant is his couch mate. Skeets just looks at him and slowly rotates side to side. Did...did Skeets just shake his head at him?
Stella Roundtree Stella Roundtree says, "Well you make it a little hard to see you under all... that," Stella says to Booster, gesturing with her hand, palm down as she makes a short circle to indicate his presentation. But she's smiling, watching him blush. "Oh! Oh yes, the thermalsy part," she says in agreement, not about to contradict the lovesick man. "Very measurable. Also the force, that's really impressive," Stella says, watching the tiny canine as it's molded from the slab. Speaking of slabs, the second stack of pancakes it just an elliptical-time calculation for the brunette, and another three make it onto her plate. Breakfast and a show!"
Ted Kord Ted Kord lays three more slabs in front of Hella, feeling a little diminished by her good natured destruction of some fine alloys. Someone is definitely getting a lecture about #1 also. He lines the slabs up and then pulls his goggles out and dons them, turning them to thermal scan. Interesting. He also says to Stella. "Sorry about calling you 'shorty'. You're not, and not a molecule is wasted on you." He pats her on the knee. He isn't putting his hand anywhere near her eating area.

Looking back to Hella he says, "Do your worst. Bobo, please turn the AC on. It's suddenly warm in here."
Hella Rokkurdisardottir     Hella, thankfully (for a certain Icon of Millions, anyway!), is busy talking to Ted during the hushed conversation between Stella and Booster. She's laughing at Ted's slightly hang-dog expression as she makes quick work of #4. She reminds him that it's not a knock on the quality of his products! "Is just proof that I need very, very durable phone," she says encouragingly as she picks up the next three slabs. She begins bending, folding, and twisting them artfully. She gets a focused expression on her face as she works, molding the metals as easily as clay.

This time, when she puts it on the table in front of Ted, the three bars have been crafted into a little statue, at least fully recognizable, of one Booster Gold and a little Skeets, attached with a wire-thin spike of very sturdy metal, somehow looking like a 'buzz pattern,' hovering near Booster's head. "Ahh, is not as detailed as I could do with more time, so kind of abstract, but... Here!" she smiles, her pretty white teeth appearing simultaneously with her dimples.

Then, she holds up a hand, "Is getting more difficult. But. I need to test when pumped. Do you have robot that can punch me very, very hard without breaking?" she asks Ted.
Stella Roundtree      It is a bit like watching a lioness devour her prey. Her sweet, syruppy prey. Ted is thankfully out of range of Stella's hunting ground. "Mm, well. I'll have to hit the gym later, but worth it now," she says, watching as the little bits of art are created. "Lookit that little Booster!" she says happily. "Sorry to interrupt, but what do you mean by pumped? Like..." she trails off. "Charging up?" she asks, getting more and more interested. "Can you hold energy? I can bounce it back, if that'd help!" Sugar and metalcraft-witnessing seem to have pulled her out of her slump. "But the most I've ever taken is jumping off a building, or pushing back a horse kick. And a car. And I'm guessing you can hit harder than that..."
Booster Gold     For a moment, Booster just sits there, looking at the lil Booster. Staring at it. Then he looks up at Hella, and then back to the lil Booster. "I always wanted my own figurine," he says, softly. "But they told me when they were making the action figure line that they ran out blue dye when they got to the Booster Gold figure, so instead it became Superman in a black suit. And for some reason, a mullet." He frowns. "If only they had had more blue, but that's another story." He hears the needs for a robot that can punch, and he hops off the couch, heading over to Ted and Hella.
"Ok, so, I try to make it a point not to punch pretty girls when I can avoid it, but if they need it, and not in a Sean Connery way, then I'm happy to help." He reaches down and rolls up his sleeves - not that he's wearing any, but it seems to help psyche him up to it - and then starts dancing back and forth like a prize fighter. "Where do you want me to hit you?" he asks her. "And if you want, I'll kiss it and make it better after."
Ted Kord Ted Kord gets up and says, "Let's make you hitting her plan B. It doesn't look good. I'm way nastier than you." He pats his hand on Boosters chest and gives him a wink, as if to say, let me do this for you. "Also the BB Gun has finer control. I can just ramp it up till she says to stop or turns in the She-Hulk or whatever." He extends a hand to Hella to lead her outside to the pool.

Ted's blaster is handed to him by Bingo.

"Ready?"

He gets the nod and fires, aiming for the hands Hells holds before her. It does nothing but make a spectacular hair flip.

I mean -damn.

He judges an appropriate amount of force, then adds 30, noting that it's the highest setting -for runaway cars, charging rhinos and low flying gunships. He turns it up to 11 (Yay! Spinal Tap!) and fires, not expecting much to happen to Madame Muscles.

<<Fwa-boosh!>>
Hella Rokkurdisardottir     Hella looks over to Stella as she lifts her voice with a question for her. "Yes," she nods her head with a smile. "I'm not certain about exactly how my power works, not enough to use technical terms for what happens. But, when I get hit, my body absorbs the force of it and charges up my strength. It takes...a lot...for me to actually feel being hit, to be affected by physical blows. I don't know how hard you can hit, Stella, but I would be devastated if I hurt you," she explains. "When I get pumped up, I also radiate more heat. Can be too hot to touch, at times," she adds for those curious. Also, a helpful PSA!

Her smile to Booster, as he examines the lil Booster figure, is warm and kind. She tuts sympathetically when she hears that he was supposed to get an action figure, but was denied so cruelly. "I make another Booster Gold figure later; better, more detail. For you," she promises and nods her head decisively. Then, he's jumping up, rolling up his sleeves to give her a solid sock in the jaw, ehhhhhh? Hella's brows raise and her grin is wide. "You wanna go, Boostie?" she asks him in a daring sort of voice. "You hit me whereever you like. Hit me as hard as you feel comfortable hitting," she says, rising to her feet and moving in his direction. It's...not quite a walk...but, more of a stalk. She's rolling her shoulders and snaps her head from side to side to pop her neck, already. Booster can /clearly see/ the idea of him hitting her has her temperature kicking up, adrenaline coursing through her system.

Ted speaks up, now, though... And, has a better idea. Hella's eyes show a little disappointment, but only to Booster, because she's so close to him now, radiating more heat. But, she turns and smiles to Ted, nodding her head agreeably. "Whatever you want," she says, taking off her tracksuit jacket and lying it on the couch arm, near where Booster'd been sitting. She kicks off her shoes, too. Just in case.

"Don't be worried. I will be just fine," she smiles, reassuring them all. Then, she grounds herself, planting her feet wide apart to best make use of her center of gravity. Then, she lifts her hands in front of her, presenting a flat, decently-sized target for Ted to aim at. The first hit strikes her hands, but doesn't move her body. Her braids go flying back behind her back, again, though! "Harder!" she calls out to Ted, grinning broadly. Her body temp is steadily rising on Booster's visor read-out. The second shot is better, but not enough. "HARDER," she says, again, sounding...a little wild.

When the highest setting is selected, Hella's body is gently vibrating from all the power that's beginning to course through her body. And, when it hits her, she goes /sailing/ into the pool. However. When she does, she comes /shooting/ up into the air, flying above it, her body just...pouring down water into the pool below. The sizzling sound of her bodyheat hitting the cold pool water was hard to hear on her impact, but... Now, the steam can be seen just rolling off of her entire body. She looks.../feral/, but happy. "AGAIN," she says, flying effortlessly to the pool edge and planting her feet back down in the original place, her entire body tensing in order, her muscles rolling as she groans in, well, pleasure. "More!"
Stella Roundtree      You know, maybe it's a good thing the boys are handling this. Stella takes this opportunity to sprawl out on the couch and refill her glass, pancakes demolished. Though not as much as what Hella seems capable of.
Having not been around superhumans (or otherwise) up until her relocation, it is quite the spectacle. She does yelp when Hella goes flying into the pool, vibration and all, a hand over her mouth as she starts to rise. "Are you all right-" she begins. It's instinctual worry, but soon the reappearance of the steamy blonde woman is... well, it's not exactly reassuring, what with the wild that comes with her. If Stella felt like a lioness while devouring her breakfast-food prey, she now feels more like a housecat in front of a dragon.
Perhaps the couch is the safer bet. She settles back into it. Yes, the boys can handle this.
Booster Gold     There is a clear look of frustration and dissapointment on Booster's face as Ted whips out his gun. "I swear you exist just to take all the fun out of my life," he mutters. Certainly not true, of course, but in the moment...
He watches and sees Hella's disappointment, which seems to add to his disappointment. As Ted walks up, he stands still, watching. Or tries to. He rocks back and forth on his feet as Ted uses the gun at ever increasing potency. His eyes glimmer in appreciation as she shrugs it off. He watches through the visor as his thermal imaging tells the story far clearer than otherwise. His movements start getting a bit more excitable, as he bounces back and forth. As the shot lifts her into the air and the pool, Booster goes running over to its side, concern on his face. He stops just sort of jumping in when she comes flying out, and he stands transfixed. Like a big, beefy Aphrodite, watching Hella emerge from the water, sizzling in heat with steam rising in to the air.
There is a crackling of energy amount him now, too. Not nearly as impressive as the waves of heat emanating from Hella, but goldish yellow and coming off in waves. There is no warning, no shout, just a blur of motion after she says more. He leaps forward, propelled by his legs and perhaps even by flight power, hauling back with a fist and he slams it directly into her mouth, maxing out every last bit of energy in his suit to deliver a punch beyond which Ted has likely ever see him use. The full force of his suit's strength, capable of tossing 20 tons with ease, directed into a single spot - Hella's lips.
Ted Kord Ted Kord blink blinks as Hella flies to the edge of the pool, radiating heat.

He moves the gun to the side to look more closely at the steaming and heavily muscled woman.

Blink. Blink.

Then he sidesteps Booster's flight and says. "Go ahead with plan B. I'm fighting out of my weight class here."

He turns back to Hella and says, "I'm going with the hardest material I can produce. Sorry I got you wet. Oh now you're hot too." He runs a hand across his mouth to stop the worlds. Stella feels him plop onto the couch. He helps himself to two mimosas and sighs.
Hella Rokkurdisardottir     There Hella stands, still fairly wet from her dip, even though her increased bodyheat has steamed a lot of it away. Her shirt clings to her in an almost embarrassingly revealing fashion. every single curve of her well-toned, heavily-muscled form is defined in excrutiating detail as she stands there, her chin tucked low, her eyes rolled up to accommodate her head's tilt to view the men past her brows, her shoulders /heaving/, a wicked, mouth-parted grin on her face.

Distantly, she can hear Ted talking to Booster, then to her. The words are lost to her, though. Because her attention is drawn, magnetically, to Booster, who is glowing and bouncing in anticipation. She recognizes the body language -- he's spoiling to fight and she couldn't be hungrier for one. Perhaps, now, her codename of DISCORD makes more sense, in these very intense moments.

In her mind, the scene plays out in a soft-focused background of baby pinks and snowy whites, sparkles in the air, romantic music swelling as Booster, as handsome as ever, surges toward her to embrace her in his arms. His head dips down to meet hers...and he takes her breath away...

In reality, the scene is much different. A cold, overcast winter morning, no music save for the pounding beat of Hella's jumped-up heart, the sound of effort Booster makes as he gathers his strength and winds up.... And, then, he punches her with every single ounce of power he can muster

Her head snaps backwards and she rocks on her heels, a...sound escaping her throat, a pleased sound. But, she immediately snaps her head back upright and grounds herself with ease -- her hands dart out toward Booster, grab fistfuls of his powersuit and she /drags/ him against her body, whereupon she kisses him straight on the mouth.

No gentle smooching, or passionate kissing... But, an intense, forceful, lips-only kiss that is accompanied by a growl of approval. And, also, the heat. Oh, it's very hot, right now, being so close to her. Her lips are very hot, her hands. She doesn't release him right away, and the kiss lasts for longer than a second... But, Hella realizes other people are present, somewhere in the back of her power-fueled mind. "More," she breathes quietly, intended only for his ears. Only then does she finally ease her vice-like grip on Booster's suit, letting him go. She really, really wants to punch something, right now. But, there's nothing to punch. So.

"Forgive me," she says, stepping away from Booster, her clothes rapidly drying with the heat roiling off of her, the steam still rising like a full-body aura. She steps far enough away that she can lift her head to the sky and, taking in a huuuuge breath, assuming the stance of someone about to scream to the heavens or leap into battle, she opens her mouth and expels a /very/ impressive gout of eye-stabbingly bright flame. She exhales every last bit of oxygen in her lungs, whereupon the flame gout stops. But, she takes another deep breath and has a second go of breathing fire. She tenses every single muscle in her body with each column of fire, and when she's done, she takes in another breath and just sort of...howls to get the rest of the tension out of her body.

When she returns from her little alone-time, she's still quite warm, but nowhere near as hot as she was, before. "I feel better," she smiles brightly. Her hair and clothes are dry!
Stella Roundtree      From Stella's perspective, the power coming off her breakfast buddies is almost blinding. The waves of energy that radiate and dissipate, absorbing and amplifying. A visual map laid over reality, showing all that power. It comes off everything in real life, from people walking to cars driving, even to planes flying overhead, should she look up when one is flying overhead. But Hella is so much closer than a plane, and so powerful, and so tangible. Energy rippling and coiling, all concentrated in one spot. Possibilities abound. She's almost hypnotized by it, and startles when Ted lands back on the couch. "Oh! Hey," she says, shaking her head. "It's like watching one big battery," she sighs, feeling sort of dreamy and dizzy. Maybe it's the five mimosas, but it's also the spectacular light and power show blazing by the pool.
Booster Gold     Booster probably knew that his punch wouldn't do anything. Certainly, one should hope he expected that. There is still a bit of shock at how little it does, which is rapidly replaced by the shock of what she does in return. Which, again, he should have expected, because he /literally/ told her that. When she finally steps away, Booster's eyes are glazed over, and he looks at her, and then back over at Ted and Stella, his eyes clearly out of focus. He stumbles, half in a gaze, spinning around on a pivot foot. He sees the pillar of flame erupt out of Hella's mouth, skyward, and is dimly aware of how the lips that it emerges from were on his mere seconds again.
His voice is light, airy - like in a dream. "That is the hottest thing I have ever seen." He spins around on one foot, and then falls backwards into the pool with a splash.
Ted Kord Ted Kord chin nods at Bobo who dutifully goes to keep Booster from drowning or shorting out. He gets up and pockets his notepad. Then he walks out to Hella, grabbing a towel on the way and tossing it to Bobo for Booster. He walks over to Hella, feeling the warmth and from thinking she's seven feet tall, he realizes she's about his height. She just seems to walk taller? Manifest more? Yes.

He looks at her and is frankly amazed.

"That was amazing. Well I got enough information. I'll need a week for the phone despite my friend's opinion of my skill set. Meanwhile We can see about add ons for you and Stella. We have Smart Glasses, ear buds, you name it and they do come in pink. I realized a while ago girls buy my stuff too. So what do you say? Hella? Stella?

Meanwhile, Stella will feel a little tickle at her toes. Bailey is polishing her toenails.
Hella Rokkurdisardottir     Hella was mere seconds away from diving into the pool after her cute lil' dumbstruck Booster, but Ted's on the ball! Bobo is dispatched and manages to beat her to the punch. She follows Bobo back toward the apartment and she regards Ted as he steps up with a towel for Booster. She smiles at him amiably as he levels her with an amazed expression. "Thank you. Is my pleasure. Ah, apologies for my behavior when I get pumped up. Become even more impulsive and," she lifts her shoulders, splaying her hands in a 'what-can-ya-do' gesture. "I appreciate you working on phone for me. As you can see, I have many challenges when trying to keep a phone with me. I hope what you choose is good for heat and fire resistance," she notes. "How much will it be, do you think?" she asks, curious. It's gotta be expensive. How could it not be?

To the mention of add-ons, Hella's brows lift and she grins happily, "I had no idea there could be add-ons. My shopping addiction continues!" She helps Bobo with Booster, aiding with the drying off by providing some heat and fanning him with big gusts of hot air, sort of like a big blow-dryer. "I want white and pink and silver, is all the colors I love. A mix of them would be nice," she smiles over at Ted. Then, she looks to Stella, who's deep in her mimosas and having her toe nails polished. "My goodness, such service." She grins.
Stella Roundtree      Stella's nails have never looked better! "Thank you, Bailey," she says, keeping her legs still so that the little bot can do her work.
She peeks up from watching the small robot hard at work, "Oh yeah, we get spoiled around here. Did not think I'd be in a penthouse having a robot do my nails while I get breakfast buzzed within a week of moving to the city," she says to Hella.
To Ted, she says, "I'll happily take add-ons. I already have one of your phones... but I didn't realize we got color choices. Hm... black and pink or black and red..." she says, tapping her lower lip while holding an empty glass. "Might wanna get Hella's done first so Booster can put his number in it, though."
Hella Rokkurdisardottir     Hella finishes drying off Booster with her arm wavies of warm air and picks him up as easily as if she were lifting a t-shirt off the floor. She carries him inside and sets him down in a comfortable arm chair, letting his head loll back on the cushion, and crossing his legs casually, putting his hands on behind his head, like he's maxin' and relaxin'. Then, she sits next to Stella. "Woo! This morning is very productive, no?" she grins.
Stella Roundtree      "Surprisingly, yes," the brunette mutant replies. "Whew, sorry, I've had a few. You were really impressive. I'd actually like to try training with you, at some point," she says. "You have SO much energy, and I can make energy do stuff... check this out." She holds up her glass and whips it down towards the floor... and it lands upright and perfectly intact. It doesn't even make a sound. "So like..." she's definitely buzzed, and takes a moment to compose her thought, "I can see the motion... the force. And I can change it or shrink it or make it bigger." She slaps the top of the table with an open palm, and the glass jumps back up. She catches it. "That trick's more impressive with beer bottles, I can make the tops pop off. OOoooh, and I play a mean game of pool," she laughs. "ANYWAY." Suddenly more serious, "You have so much energy coming off of you when you're all revved up. I think... I might be able to do stuff with it. With your permission, of course."
Hella Rokkurdisardottir     Hella grins shyly as Stella compliments her. She's usually so confident and bold, it probably seems strange coming from her. But, it's always nice to hear someone applaud her abilities, a lot of which she suffered to develop. Of course, she has a strange relationship with that, so it's a weird thing...that she might talk about, if it comes up.

She watches in amazement as Stella throws the glass and it lands, silently, on its base! "WHA!" she exclaims in surprise. "How--??" she laughs, looking back at Stella with big eyes and an open mouth, her dimples present because she's smiling at the same time. She claps for the second trick, as Stella catches the glass in her hand, "That is so COOL!" She considers something for a moment.

Then, with a sheepish voice, she admits something, "I'm not so smart." She amends, "Well, I'm not dumb. I go to university and I have good grades, but.." She bobs her head from side to side as she tries to find the right words, "Some things hard for me to imagine. Like...how your ability works. What could you do when training with me? 'Cause I definitely want to! I also want to work out with you," she grins.
Stella Roundtree      "Mmhm! And I can do stuff with electricity and sound, too," Stella says, the last words sounding like they're coming from behind Hella rather than from Stella. UGH, I need a TABLET!" Stella says, shaking her head. "I can draw the lines so people can see, it helps. So. Whenever there's sound or kinetic energy," she claps her hands once to demonstrate," I can see it. I see it all the time, actually. But if I take a picture, it's all flat. But in real time, I'm seein' the soundwaves and the force. It's almost like a jelly layer, I can see through it. But if it's close enough... I can stop it or move it. It's like..." she thinks. "I can hold onto it and make it do what I want, does that make sense?"
She claps again. It's silent, but the plate nearest her lifts up just about the same amount. "It got me in trouble, so I don't really have as much experience as other people around here do. Anyway. I can't make it from nothing. Like... I see some people can just pull stuff outta nowhere. But can they charge your phone while touching anything electric? I think not," she says, chuckling.
"With you, I can probably take some of that power and redirect it, or just make it dissolve if you feel like it's too much," she says. "The waves just fade. As for working out... I think you'd be a very good spotter to have," she decides, instinctively sipping from an empty glass before she realizes it has no content.
Hella Rokkurdisardottir     Hella's head whips around when the sound of Stella's voice comes from behind her. Then, she snaps her gaze back to her with an amazed laugh, shaking her head. "That is crazy! Amazing! Not normal!" she says with an excited voice. Then, she tries -- with a very valiant effort -- to follow Stella's explanation of her powers. But, it still eludes her understanding. Maybe, if Stella could demonstrate with some visual aids! But, she just nods her head and smiles, trying not to exasperate her new friend.

"Well, heh.." she sounds a little guilty as she continues, "..problem is, when I'm pumped like that, I usually don't /want/ to stop. Feels so good, so intoxicating, so FUN." Though she started off sounding guilty, she ends it sounding dreamy, unable to help herself. "But, could be very useful! Very," she says, nodding her head. Then, as Stella sips at the empty glass, she grins and replaces it with a full mimosa glass. "Here~"
Stella Roundtree      "Sometimes I don't feel super smart either," Stella says. "Especially around these two guys. Well. Especially around Ted," she says, a little more softly. "I mean, I don't know Booster that well. Or. Um. Ted. Really. Inventor people with fancy tech." She sounds a little embarrassed. She takes the offered glass, "Whew, thanks. And here I thought I was gonna dry out. And I definitely know what you mean as far as not wanting to stop things. Or I can try. Like when you have a great evening, and you just don't want it to stop, so maybe if you keep partying it doesn't have to? At least not for a few days. But it looks like you're able to let off some of it with the fire?" She gestures with her hand in a rolling motion, making circles, "Out of your mouth? Anyway. Am I on the right track?" she asks, very comfortable on the couch.
Hella Rokkurdisardottir     Hella smiles as Stella makes her feel more normal, less self-conscious about her level of smarts. She has strengths, and plenty of them, but understanding abstract scientific concepts isn't one of 'em! She owns it, but it's still kinda embarrassing to admit, sometimes. "Yeah, I've just met them, myself," she nods her head. Then, conspiratorially, she leans closer and lowers her voice. "This is only my second time meeting Booster, and look what I ended up doing," she whispers in Stella's ear. When she pulls back, her cheeks are slightly flushed and she's grinning shyly, again. "My first kiss," she adds, quietly. "It wasn't what I imagined it would be."

She nods to the description, "Yeah! Is like...I can hit and punch and kick and smash forever, and I feel amazing!" She laughs, shaking her head. "But, it can be toxic if I'm not around evil-doers and can't find a good way to, y'know.." she mimics breathing fire with a gesture with her hand. "I mean, doesn't /have/ to be my mouth, but feels best that way," she says shifting slightly to tuck her back against the corner of the couch and its arm-rest, folding her legs comfortably.
Stella Roundtree      "UM," Stella says, her voice getting very high. She doesn't need to lean in, but her voice sounds like it's coming from headphones rather than her mouth, "Dude, I have definitely maybe moved too fast. I LIVE HERE. And I've only known Ted... I don't even want to say. I'm not sleeping with him, but we go on dates," she says, her own cheeks red. She places her hands on them to cover the heat coming off her face. Well, a hand and the side of her glass. "That area. pretty impressive first kiss, though! Mine was in the back of a movie theater right at the start of high school, and I was so nervous that I didn't realize the guy was chewing gum," she says, shaking her head.
Her voice returns to normal. She's obviously feeling pretty good about herself right now, legs up and one arm up on the back of the couch. "These guys are smart, maybe they can help. And maybe I can, too... if I stop being sucky at being a mutant," she giggles. "Ugh, everyone here is like twenty and it feels like they've been trainin' since they were twelve. I'm so far behind.
"BUT!" She holds up an index finger to emphasize her point, "I used to trail dumb dumb criminals and cheaters for a living, and let me tell ya. They were not smart. But they got away with a lot. Sometimes you gotta be clever over bein' smart," she says as mimosa six? Seven? Starts to take hold. "So if we're just smarter than THEM, I think we can do just fine."
Hella Rokkurdisardottir     Hella's eyes go wide at the secret whispered in her ear and, though she doesn't want to make Stella feel worse about it, she can't deny she's surprised! Her mouth falls open and she lifts a hand to cover it. Her hands are no bigger than a woman of her size would have, but they're maybe a bit more finely toned; and she wears semi-short nails with a pretty, though basic french manicure. "Make my voice go into ear," she whispers hushedly, grinning excitedly. Then, she says, "Is okay. Ted seems very nice. Very concerned for your happiness. He also is good guy!" And, here, she adds a little more, even softer.

When she sits back, Hella smiles softly, glancing affectionately over at Booster's still comatose form, posed so elegantly... "Would be nice not to burn his skin off with next kiss," she says quietly. Then, she has to grin a bit, shaking her head, "You're not a sucky mutant. You're learning how to use powers. I don't know tons about mutants, but once you get hang of powers, you will be formidable! I can sense it!" she says encouragingly, her smile bright. "Maybe so! Would be nice to practice learning how to be clever. Is that possibility? To learn to be clever?"
Booster Gold     Words slip out from Booster, finally, as he unravels himself. His hands come back down to rest against the arms of the chair, and he recrosses his legs. Remarkably similar to the position Hella put him in, but she just got the order reversed. No big deal. He looks over at Hella, and there is a mix of admiration and adoration on his face. "I was?" he asks softly. "I'm...honored."
He glances over near where Ted went, and then looks over at Hella and Stella. He sighs softly. "I do need to clear up the record, though. Ted is the inventor - I'm just..." He sighs for a moment. "I'm just the guy lazy enough to hang around with the inventory so he can solve my problems for me." He adjusts his posture again, leaning forward on his chair. "I didn't invent any of this stuff," he says, waving his hands to indicate his powersuit, his visor, his belt. "Honestly - take me out of the suit, I'm not anything special at all." He reaches up and runs his fingers through his hair, and then shakes them out. "So don't worry about being new at being a hero. You're still a hero, any way you look at it."
Stella Roundtree      The ladies chat a bit, with Stella nodding. She replies, inaudible for a moment to anyone but Hella, and then returns to her lounging. She's edging out of buzzedness and into being loosey goosey. "I might be able to get the energy out, but heat's a weird one. Ted said that it's like... micro... energy..." she says. "So maybe I can figure that one out and just turn around while you smooch," she says, becoming one with the couch, sinking in deeper. "And thanks. I figure everyone has to learn at some point, but man it sucks to be behind. And you can definitely learn how to be clever. We learn all the time from other people, sometimes we just need to find someone who knows more'n us and can be patient.
"AWwww, Boooosstterrrr," Stella says, rolling to rest against the arm of the couch. "See, he can be so nice. And he makes a really good breakfast. He made one for us not too long ago and it was a real good omelets. I mean. Omelet," she says.
Hella Rokkurdisardottir     Hella's head snaps in the direction of a now-conscious Booster who, apparently, heard her confession to Stella about him being her first kiss. She clears her throat and flushes a bit more, her temperature spiking lightly with the jolt of adrenaline. Unable to make herself speak -- for once! -- she nods her head with a little half-smile, then looks away to find her voice, again. She keeps glancing back in his direction, though.

Hella grins at Stella and nods her head. "No idea about specifics, but... idea of you monitoring my power level while I'm smooching on Booster is very funny mental image," she laughs, her cheeks still a touch pink. That said, she pipes up, again and shakes her head and finger at the same time, "You aren't behind. You are in perfect sync with body and that is what matters. We work together, figure it out," she nods decisively.

Hella grins as Stella talks up Booster, listing his ability to make good omelet. "Can you cook in bulk?" she asks with a wicked grin, her pale blue eyes locked on his for a brief time that might feel like forever! "I eat a lot." She cants her head and addresses something he said that's sitting wrong with her. "You might not be superhero in body, but in heart? Yes. That is where it counts most," she says in a very sincere, solemn voice. "Don't dismiss that so easily," she points a commanding finger, though her tone is soft and kind.
Booster Gold     "Thanks, Stella. Ted never gives me credit for being any use to him." Booster pauses. "He does it out of love, though. I think." He slowly stands up, stretching out a bit, and shakes out some more water that pools on Ted's floor. Looking over at Hella, he smiles. "I'm not sure I could scale up that well, but with Skeets help I probably could."
As if on cue, the robot floats over and hovers in front of Hella. "I taught him every recipe he knows, Miss Hella!" Almost certainly true - most likely hovering and working him through things at the stove.
Booster looks over at Hella she talks about him being a superhero in heart, and he nods slowly. "I've heard that before. From another...statuesque...hero. I think you'd like her, actually. We should arrange a meeting." Yes, he just compared her to Diana Prince, aka Wonder Woman. "And I mean, who am I argue with beautiful women, especially when it's about how awesome I am?" Just like that, it's gone. Booster is back. Whatever was there a few moments ago...flittered away. "Where the hell did Ted go, anyway?"
Stella Roundtree      Stella squeaks! "I'm sorry, I can't turn the visual part off! Photos look so weird because it seems like a part of them is missing. But thank you. It's such a relief to meet other people who can do stuff," she says, starting to yawn. "I'm just gonna close my eyes... for a bit..." she says, drifting off. And soon, she's napping on the couch.
Hella Rokkurdisardottir     Hella smiles at the reappearance of Skeets. She holds her arms out for the little robot-friend and, if he allows it, hugs him to her chest, wrapping both of her arms around his rocket-shaped body lightly, so she doesn't put too much pressure on his outer casing. She will pet him idly as she listens to the conversation that's going on around her. She looks content to just sit there and snuggle Skeets.

She grins at Booster, "I definitely would enjoy breakfast from you, some day." Then, she watches Booster the man become Booster the Icon in a matter of seconds. She doesn't seem discouraged, though. She just smiles at him, kind and warm, no judgment. "He's somewhere around, I think." She grins as Stella drifts off, the alcohol from the mimosas finally catching up with her. "Well, she's gone to nappy-bye land!"
Ted Kord Ted Kord returns, hands in the pockets pf his robes. He looks around at the little gathering and sighs and pulls a slab of silvery metal out of his pocket. Ted walks over to Hella and holds it out to her. "You have to open it. It's a flip phone but it takes a half ton of pressure to open. Excuse me a second."

He gives Booster a gentle dope slap. "What's the matter with you? Who told you I found you of no use? When Doomsday mangled me and you held him off, that was no use? When the Mikado knifed me and you nailed him, that was no use? I never said you had to be a genius. You're developing that app -for people like Hella or Stella. You thought of that. We have plenty of 'geniuses' to make it real. And stop saying I speak ill of you, you doofus!"

He turns back to Hella. I designed it as a flip phone. The circuitry and buttons are applied to the inside. Sorry no screen, yet. Like I said it requires a half ton of pressure to open. No one is going to fiddle with your phone and I judge you to be able to pop it open with your thumb. There is one hold up though..." He holds his hands out, like a petitioner, "I'm out of pink paint. I can girly it up tomorrow." He gives her a big grin and tweaks her cheek.

"Booster was right, I did do it in a day. Now, you, may have to bring it back a couple times till we get it right. Booster can handle you... your feedback. He dd a smart job meetng you and determining you needed this. As for cost... let's say $500 and a hug... from Hella, not you." The last prohibition directed at Booster.
Booster Gold     Booster looks suitably chastised by Ted. "I just wanted to make sure that Stella didn't mistake me for some inventor. Because then she'd just keep asking /me/ to do stuff, and build, and create ideas, and ain't no one got time for that." At the mention of Doomsday, though, Booster shudders. "Not our finest hour, my friend, but..." He reaches out and puts his hand on Ted's shoulder. "We survived. Plenty didn't. I wouldn't let him take out." There is real, honest, affection and love there, in that look, and that tone. Manly love, not in that way love, but love.
Stella's passing out catches Booster's attention, and the sincerity again is gone. "Haha, your girlfriend is a light-weight, and mine could eat an entire Morton's." he nudges Ted hard in the ribs. At Hella's breakfast request, Booster gives that nod again - "Anytime." The grin. The sparkle tooth one.
But as soon as the subject of money comes up, Booster shakes his head. "Hell no. You can get the hug, but you're not charging her $500." He pauses, patting his ass for a second. "Take it out of my allowance."
Skeets, this entire time, has been nothing other than snuggling with his new favorite person.
Hella Rokkurdisardottir     Hella looks up as Ted re-enters the room, shuffling quietly over the floor in his slippers. She smiles in greeting as he walks around into her line of sight. She accepts the flip phone with a hand, looking at it in surprise as she pulls it closer to her. "I don't know how that works, but that's cool," she says with raised eyebrows, easily opening the phone with her thumb.

Just as Ted suspected, it's no effort, at all, for her to accomplish the task. She shakes her head and smiles, "How many times do I have to repeat? I want white phone with silver accent. Pink can be stickers or some such. Something easy to replace for cute new look." She looks daydreamy while talking about accessorizing her new phone. She playfully bats at his tweaky hand, dodging and laughing.

She lifts a brow, "How I take it home with no screen?" She sounds confused. For the price, Hella grins and nods her head, "Deal. I will try not to hug too hard. Is just that I am very grateful."
Hella's head turns back to Booster when he cracks the joke about Stella being Ted's girlfriend and... Girlfriend, eh? She pins him with a studying look, a little smile on her face. What is she thinkinng? What does that look on her face mean? Her eyes widen as he intends to pay for her phone. "I can pay it, Boostie. Do not worry," she smiles. She nuzzles Skeets and smiles at him. "You are best robot-friend ever," she says to him in a soft voice.
Ted Kord Ted Kord sits down between Stella and Hella and begins explaining. "It has a screen, but only to display letters and numbers, so you can text. I need time for a tv screen to let people see your lovely face. I'll give you a manual, English and Russian. I tweaked the buttons. they only respond to body temperature of 38 Celsius or more. Which is you. Excuse me another minute."

"Don't call her my girlfriend! We had two dates," he growlos at Booster. He lowers his voice fast looking back at Stella. It is a long and longing look. One that shows sudden uncertainty.

"Stop jinxing me. You know how this usually works for me... do you think she's all right? I think she's sick or something?" He turns away with a visible effort.

"I'll take that hug now, please. If you can let go of the Hugo Award for a second."
Booster Gold     While Ted and Hella discuss the phone, Booster remains quiet. He seems somewhat relaxed, until Hella whips her head over on the girlfriend line. He has the look of someone who did not even realize the implications of what he said until he said it. He sees the look on her face, and doubt seems to wash over his. He opens his mouth as if to explain, or apologize, or confirm, and there is such a confused expression on his rapidly flushing cheeks that he cannot manage to get anything out until Hella says she will pay for it. His legs quiver a bit at the nickname, and then he looks over at Skeets happily snuggling with her. For a moment, it looks like man is jealous of the robot. But that moment passes.
When Ted expresses concern about Stella, Booster shakes his head. "Nah, she's fine, she's just had a bunch to drink this morning. I mean, she sees energy waves, and we brought..." He waves a hand at Hella. "Like a literal sun here in front of her. Probably had to drink to dull her senses."
Booster looks back over at Hella, though, after saying this, and thinks for a moment. He opens his mouth again, as if to say something, but again, he stops. Just letting her enjoy Skeets's attention, and vice versa.

"Can we move in together?" Skeets, not Booster, offers that suggestion. Booster's face resembles the Flash's suit faster than...well, the Flash.
    "SKEETS!"
Hella Rokkurdisardottir     Hella has absolutely zero idea about all the specifications and what it all means. She tries to follow all the things Ted says, but the look in her eyes is slightly blank. She's trying, though! She looks a little embarrassed as she asks, "Will...will it be like smartphone? It looks like ancient phone. Is necessary for durability? I was hoping I could shop on phone, maybe play Candy Crush?" She looks guilty, as though she feels bad for being greedy about what she wants from her phone.

Looking down at Skeets, Hella smiles at him and plants a lil kiss on top of his head. "More cuddles later, Skeets. Promise," she says, letting him go to hover about as he will.emit

She stands up and, without really asking permission, she grabs Ted by his robe's lapels, easily (and gently) lifts him up to his feet, and encircles him in a nice bearhug. Maybe, maybe it's a smidge too tight, but only for a brief moment as she releases him and grasps his shoulder, giving it a friendly shake. "Thank you for this great gift you are giving me. I owe you, Ted Kord, the incomparable Blue Beetle," she says with sincerity and a smile.

But, then, Hella turns her attention to Booster, moving over to sit in the seat with him, not giving him any warning, either. If he doesn't make room, she just sits on him. She looks up at Ted and nods to Stella, "She's okay. Drunk. She is often drunk, I think. Like my brother, Ingvar. Hard to notice, but I recognize." She lifts a shoulder, "I think we will be good friends, Stella and I. I will keep eye on her, make sure she is okay, too. Sound good?" she asks, leaning against Booster without a hint of self-consciousness.

To Skeets, she grins broadly. "Is that what you want, my sweet little robot-friend, mmh? Come here," she says, reaching out to snag him with one hand and give him another kiss, this one on the cheek. "You? Too sweet," she laughs softly.
Ted Kord Ted Kord rubs his eyes. Ah another Black Canary. However a solution suggests itself. "I am working a screen for Candy Crush and shopping. It will take a few more days. He walks over to the crowded chair and grabs a Booster and Hella by the wrists. "Meanwhile like I said, I have the manuals and BOOSTER can demonstrate how it works. You may have overhugged me. Knock fifty off the price."
Booster Gold Booster might have moved over, honestly. He was mesmerized by watching Hella hug Ted, and imagining that must be what it looks like. Or the promise of more cuddles for Skeets. Or maybe, just maybe, he just doesn't want to. As Hella moves to sit on him, he opens up his arms wide, adjusting slightly to make himself in the most darn comfortable chair one could possibly be. He wraps his arms around her waist as if that was an entirely comfortable position and settles back into the chair, nodding sagely as she talks of the way Stella drinks. And her brother drinks. He nods to her, and gives her a squeeze. "I think everyone benefits from someone keeping an eye on them, and I couldn't think of anyone better to do that than you." He grins up at Hella. "I pity da fool who starts trouble with Stella, because if you must with da Stella, you get...DA HELLA." He laughs, entertaining himself, at least, as he settles against her.
He does not even argue as she gives Skeets a kiss, grinning a bit. "If you keep that up, you'll definitely divide his loyalty." He leans up and rests his chin against Hella. "When are you going to help me get Brimmy to feel the way about me that Skeets feels about you?"

A robotic voice somehow sounds indignant. "Did you just compare me to a /dog/, sir?"
Hella Rokkurdisardottir     Hella smiles as Booster just accepts her on his lap and wraps his arms about her waist. She's pretty calm, so her ambient heat will take a little while to be of notice. It's definitely tolerable, for now. She laughs at his goofy name rhyming, because it's awkward and cute, and it's not as though she hadn't taken notice of how well her name and Stella's rhyme! It's amusing and makes her smile.

"I can't help he is so sweet and adorable, Booster," she says in a what-can-I-do voice, sighing wistfully. She lifts a hand to gently pet at Booster's hair when he leans his chin on her, and she replies, "Very soon. I will talk with him. He will be very good, next time you see him." She promises! "Plus, I'll send you text with all his favorite treats that are easily acquired. That will help a lot."

She picks up the tension in Skeets' voice as he gets his back up. She reaches out and gently pets him, shushing calmingly. "He didn't. He only means that Brimstone is my faithful companion, as you are his. That is all. A comparison between companions is no insult, right?" she smiles.

Hella nods her head gratefully to Ted's comment, "I am patient as is necessary. No worries about knocking off price. Hug is just bonus, because I am happy to know you and become your friend." Then, Ted is grabbing her wrist. She looks up at him with a confused expression, "Can I help you, Ted?" Her smile is bright and friendly.
Ted Kord Ted Kord looks down at the wrists he is holding. He lets them drop. I just got happy at the thought of you two working out the phone. Booster is the one to show you. He's very good at that sort of thing. He's a fast worker too... at teaching phones and such. Skeets can download the manual and help yoooooou." He looks back at Stella and goes to sit by her. He almost reaches out for her and then decides she's better off.

"She drinks? That could explain how things are a little -uneven. I don't know. Maybe she needs to make her own way and deal with this. I seem to attract women like that, or women who pretty much have their act together and don't need my nonsense."
Joan Wright Ding!

The elevator doors leading to the penthouse slide open, allowing for a brown haired woman in her mid to late twenties to exit. Joan's attire is office friendly today. Not counting the satchel she's down to just two pockets. With a look that purely speaks business, she strides out. Opening her mouth she speaks up to let the home owner know of her arrival, "Ted - I'm here with the pa-"

As she cuts around the corner to look in, her steps slow to a stop as she looks to the dripping wet Booster entertaining a woman on his lap while Ted sits next to a passed out contractor. Joan looks to the scene in silence.
Hella Rokkurdisardottir     Hella smiles at Ted warmly, accepting her wrist back when he lets go of it. "Thank you for saying so. Is very kind, Ted," she says in reply, watching him rejoin a sleeping Stella on the couch. And, to his comment, she nods. "Now, listen. Is very important you hear me, now. Are you listening, Ted Kord?" she asks, holding her hands out, fingers together, palms facing each other, in a 'focus' gesture toward Ted.

"I do not know for fact that Stella is functioning alcoholic. She is drunk now, but is first time I have met her. Some signs /seem/ maybe like my happy-drunk brother Ingvar. But! That is no proof. Is just my guess. She is not unhappy. She is okay. I think. I will become good friend to her, though, to make sure she is safe. I will make sure," she nods her head. Then, she sits back against Booster, again, her well-muscled back pressing into his torso. She smells like coconuts and vanilla. Maybe cookies, a little. She's so warm, Booster felt the lack of it when she sat forward to address Ted with a serious message, and he can feel the return of it, now that she is back where she sat before.

"That said, Teddington," she says, casually nicknaming Ted, "I suggest letting her just exist for little while, see if she levels out. Is maybe stress from moving from home and insecurities about powers, etc. Let her blossom," Hella smiles. "I help," she says in that vowing voice she uses often enough to be recognizable.

Then, there's the sound of the door opening and in walks Joan! Hella turns her head to greet the new young lady, who is her age or near enough! "Hello," she calls with a friendly wave. She is a pale, buff, white-blonde Nordic young woman wearing tightly-plaited twin french braids, a tightly fitting pink t-shirt with a super cute blushing white cloud on it, and white cargo pants and white athletic socks that only just cover her entire foot. Also, she is sitting on Booster's lap!
Booster Gold     Booster seems content. More than content. He has a smile on his face, and it's not the Booster smile. You know the one - gums and lips wide, the sparkly one. The one he puts on when he pretends there are cameras there capturing his every move. This is no act - the man is literally, sitting there, smiling. A warm, genuine smile. No doubt, of course, due to the woman sitting on his lap.
He listens as Hella analyzes the chances of Stella being a drunk or just a drinker, and nods along with it. His arms tighten a bit reflexively as Hella leans back - not to hold her, because he knows he can't keep her from doing anything. Just simply affection. It almost looks like he is a real human person with real human person feelings. He chortles as Hella dubs his friend Teddington. That one is going to be a keeper. And then he hears the elevator, and looks towards the doorway.
"Oh, this is gonna be good." He looks back over at the Beetle, in his bathroom. "Oh Ted-ding-tonnnnn..." he sing songs.
From beneath Hella's hand, Skeets bursts out a greeting towards Joan. "It's the Lego..." Booster swats Skeets. "...builder."

        *clickclick*
Ted Kord Ted Kord looks up at the elevator ding. "Hey morning, no afternoon, Joan. This is Hella Rokkur-dis-ar-dottir. You know her backpack, Booster Gold. You remember Stella?" He looks over at Hella.

"I believe you will do what you say Hella. It is nice to offer. But we know you can d all that and she can still blossom off in another direction we know this. So don't make assurances about her sticking around. I have been here many times. Ask Joan. They don't stick around. Felicity, the Ex, Alyx, Ice. You get to where you see the handwriting on the wall."

"So yes be a friend, just don't imply there's a happy ending. I don't do happy endings. I'm the Blue Beetle. I build stuff. I fight evil when I can find it. I run my company. That is about it. And I am not going to be a fucking third wheel."
Hella Rokkurdisardottir     Hella tsks at Booster and leans her head back and turns her face toward his ear so she can whisper in his ear. A soft tutting for smacking Skeets, but her breath is warm and likely distracting. She isn't /too/ serious. She grins as she turns her face away, leaning more comfortably back against him. She also lifts her hand, in case Skeets wants to be free to go greet Joan properly. If he doesn't go, she'll simply place her arm back on him, petting and patting idly.

However, she lifts her brows, looking to Booster and Joan. "Lego? You enjoy building with Lego bricks?" she asks of Joan, a friendly smile dimpling her cheeks. And, oof. She turns to Ted, shaking her head, "I make no promises about where her heart lies, only that I will help her be safe. She seems like good person, good heart. She needs stable friend. I can be friend." A brief pause and she looks a little disappointed, mostly in herself. "I apologize, Ted Kord. I have behaved poorly in front of you? It was not my intention to...make you feel like third wheel." She sounds genuinely guilty. This is the first time she's ever...had a guy she was interested in...that was interested in her, too. So. She's not really learned about what's appropriate around friends who might be sensitive to seeing such things.
Joan Wright Hearing the greeting, Joan's eyes focus upon the woman on Booster's lap. "Hello." Joan manages to get out in response. "Booster's friend?" She asks, assuming that to be the case considering the positioning but at the moment she is uncertain what to expect in this penthouse now.

As Booster calls for Ted an odd variation of the nickname. "Ted's short for Theodore." She points out, "Teddington would kill the point." As skeets makes the camera sound, her eyes narrow, giving the tiny assistant a look she would never give any of Ted's bots.

Joan's eyes direct over to Ted, her hands move to the satchel, starting to open it. The hands pause as Ted starts listing names. "...I don't remember all of them." She admits, pulling out the papers. She at least avoids saying which ones she doesn't remember. "Although, it does speak to your credit that you still remember." She glances down to the papers, "You forgot I was coming over, didn't you?"

She holds the papers out, frowning slightly before she turns to look to Hella, giving a polite smile. "I do enjoy building with LEGOs." She confirms, "Good source of stress relief... usually."
Booster Gold     "Uh, it's my fault, Joan, really," offers Booster from his seat. "So, Hella here can get hot as the blazing sun, and she wanted one of Ted's phones, only Ted wasn't sure if his phone could withstand her heat, so he invited her over here, because he had to do some testing to measure her abilities and make sure that his phone would support it, and he had Stella come over because she can see heat and waves and stuff and at first he thought it would when she was just bending the metal and showing how strong she was but then she was like "Heet me stronger little man with gun" and so Ted shot her a few times and she started powering up and she fell into the pool and then she launched out and we all got wet, and then she was like "MORE MORE MORE" and so I ran over and punched her in the face and she went "WOOOOOOSH" and sent a Michael Bay skybeam of flame into the air and it was the hottest thing I'd ever seen, and then we all came back in here."
Booster Gold Every time Booster repeats what Hella was saying, he does it in the "Moose and Sqvuirrel" voice of the Russian spy from the cartoon show Rocky and Bullwinkle. Nowhere near Hella's actual accent.
Joan Wright Joan looks over towards Booster as he gives his explanation. A brow raises up as he starts shouting More over and over again. "...Ok so. Experiement fall out?"
Ted Kord Ted Kord looks at the sheaf of papers. "Oh wait, they have me paying for Booster as a lab assistant. He's public relations. No labwork there. Joan someone screwed up. Have some coffee and have a seat. I'm just going to tear Albert, your boss a new hole and get this straightened out." He gives Booster a wink. "Booster Gold, idol of millions would be wasted in a lab. The incomparable Blue Beetle will see to this. Hey Bailey, want to try lunch? The pancakes were good... judging by reactions." As he walks away he grabs the bottle of champagne from Bobo.
Booster Gold Before Ted can leave, Booster gives him a quick nod, and that famous Booster Gold "don't worry, I can fix this" expression.
Hella Rokkurdisardottir     Hella smiles, nodding her head to Joan, "Yes, I am Hella Rokkurdisardottir." Her accent is very thickly Russian and she has a way of crisply rolling 'r's that is very present when she speaks her surname. "And, I am spending more and more time with Booster, because he is handsome and adorable, and he makes me smile," she says plainly. She, then, listens to Booster give a mostly-accurate run down of what has occurred since her arrival in the penthouse. "Mostly correct," she agrees. "Is my strength that is more problematic than my heat, but heat is problem, too," she smiles lopsidedly.

Hella watches Ted look over paperwork, make a comment to Joan, and then wander out. She gives a silent wave to his retreating back, still feeling kinda like garbage. Oh, well. What more can she do besides apologize as she did? Not much. It's now in Ted's hands.
Joan Wright Joan watches Ted as he heads out, head tilting before she glances around for the coffee Ted indicated would be present. She looks over towards Hella once again when she introduces herself. Definitely a first name type of greeting for this one.

"Hello Hella. I'm Joan Wright." She returns back, glancing over to Booster as Hella details what she likes about the man of the future, "IIii'm- just here for the paperwork. I'll let you two have some privacy after that's settled. Sorry to disturb you two."
Booster Gold     A quick shake of his head from Booster. "No, Joan, please..." He waves his free hand over towards one of the seats. "Stay. I owe you that, at least, as an apology for my naughty little robot here." He gives Skeets another nudge, and Skeets indignantly bobs in the air.
"I am sorry, Joan. I promise I will delete them." Booster swats him again. "I mean I did delete them."
Booster sighs deeply, and looks up at Hella. "Joan here is very special to Ted. And his bots. And she is an amazing Lego enthusiast. Like, the best Lego artist I've ever seen." He looks over at Joan, his eyes sort of pleading. "Don't make me beg. Please, sit, relax. Ted will be unsurly in a few, I am sure."
Joan Wright Brown eyes follow Booster's movements, looking to the indicated seat as he asks her to stay. Feeling a bit on the spot, Joan walks over, looking between the two.

As Skeets flies up up, starting to promise that he would delete the photos, here eyes narrow. Her mouth starts to open while Skeet corrects himself. She looks over to Booster, trying to determine which of those statements were true based off of the Gold poker face.

Booster's summary to Hella causes for her to blink, looking over to the out cold Stella lying nearby and then back to Booster as he repeats the request for her to sit. Joan's fist clenches for a few moments before relaxing. Giving a sigh, the Damage Control employee sits down, sliding back in the seat.

When one of the bots comes over with a mug of coffee, she gives him a small smile. "Thank you, Bingo."
Booster Gold     A smile crosses Booster's face as Joan sits, and he nods. "Thanks for staying. I was hoping to talk to you about something very important to me." He pauses, and adds. "And I think to you, too." Booster shifts a bit on his seat, which is a little bit tricky to do since he has Hella on his lap, but he tries to do it anyway. He leans back and shifts, his head disappearing behind Hella's back in the process, to emerge on the other side.
"Now, you may not know this, but I'm pretty much an expert on women." Booster offers that Booster smile, and then he sighs, and stops. Even his tone changes a bit. "Ok, let's be real here for a second." He looks over at Joan. "My boy Ted likes you. A lot. And I can see why. And I think you like him too." He shifts again. "Or am I totally misreading the situation?"
Hella Rokkurdisardottir     Hella is quiet as Booster and Joan converse pleasantly, all swattings of Skeets aside. Hella takes Skeets in her arms, if he'll allow it, and hugs him quietly, petting him and smiling down at him, and murmuring nice things to him while the other adults talk.

When Booster shifts, Hella helps him accomplish his goals by lifting up slightly, then settling back down as he finds the best position. Of course, he might be getting a smidge too warm with her sitting on him this long. She leans in to whisper a quick check-in with him, not distracting enough to interrupt the conversation.
Joan Wright Sipping the newly presented coffee, Joan watches as Booster and Hella do a bit of a dance to allow for Booster to speak to her. Although it's quite apparent that Hella's making her claim known by staying upon the lap. When the mug lowers, her lips pinch together to suppress a small laugh at the display. Joan glances down to her coffee.

The glance shoots up as Booster starts on the topic of Ted liking her. Then back over to Stella, then Hella as Booster gets to his main question.

The mug is taken by the attentive Bingo as it looks like she's about to spill it. "I-" She pauses, looking to the mug being held by the bot. She sets her hands on her lap, Joan glances over towards Skeets, eyeing him. He BETTER not be recording this.

"I do." She answers, voice a bit lower in volume than before.
Booster Gold     Booster nods slowly. He watches Joan. Studies her movement. It actually looks, for a few moments, like Booster is paying attention to something. For longer than a few moments. "And you know, I am sure, how he feels." He watches her glance over at Stella. He sighs quietly.
"Look. I don't want to meddle," he says, while meddling. "But I think instead of staring daggers at someone that is spending time with Ted because she has shown him she she is interested in it, perhaps you should communicate your feelings to Ted. Himself. Directly." He looks up at Hella and shakes his head. "It's fine. It's like the heated seats in my Escalade. Except backwards."
Skeets buzzes around a bit, lingering near Hella. Seeming to behave for the moment.
"That's really all I have to say about that. I see how he is when he talks about you, and ... " He shrugs. "I haven't seen him like that before. And it makes me happy to see."
Hella Rokkurdisardottir     Hella is quiet, like mouse. She keeps her mouth shut and her eyes elsewhere, so she doesn't inadvertently make Joan feel even more nervous while Booster pins her to the wall with a proverbial spotlight. 'You'll never take me alive, Icon of Millions!' Hella can imagine her saying. And, it makes her grin. Though, she's not looking at anyone as she does, so it's unlikely to capture anyone's attention.

She smiles and nods quietly to Booster's comment, shaking her head at the silly. She makes no comments about the situation with Ted because, well, Hella is brand-spankin'-new to this group of people and it's not her place. But, if Joan likes Ted and Ted like Joan, then... 'NORNS, LET IT BE SO,' she sends up a silent willing.
Joan Wright "I'm not staring daggers at her." Joan protests, frowning. "It's just-" She gestures towards the sleeping woman, "You're asking me this while she's lying right there. Do you know how weird this is? She seems nice. I shouldn't be saying this around her."

There's a clink of the mug to which Joan looks down. "Thanks Bingo." Taking the coffee back, she sips it, begging off some time to get her thoughts together.
Booster Gold     A soft chuckle. "No offense, but she's passed out drunk. She's not hearing anything." Booster looks over at Stella, and then back at Joan. "I get that it's weird. And I promise, this will be the /last/ thing /I/ say about this." He nods slightly to Hella. "Who made it weird, Joan?" Booster tilts his head, fixing her with a gaze. As if she should know the answer to the question.
Hella Rokkurdisardottir     After whispering quickly to Booster, Hella awaits his answer to her question. She has something she desperately wants to tell Joan. Something that may likely have a great impact on the situation, and almost certainly for the good. Or, so she hopes. Hella only ever wants to do good things for others, to be helpful and kind and caring, and let people be happy.

She really wants to talk to Joan and she can't help but bounce a bit as she waits impatiently for Booster's go-ahead. When he gives it, she fairly leaps to her feet and hops over to where Joan is seated, "May I whisper in ear?" She says it quietly. "Is for your ears only." When Joan gives a hesitant nod, Hella's smile is brilliant, her dimples deepening as she leans in and whispers to the Lego-artist!

When she's done whispering, she stands up and bounces back over to Booster. "Have you had enough, or are you thirsty for more?" she quotes Home Alone to him, grinning, referring to her sitting on his lap, but lets him make what he will of it.
Joan Wright As Hella whispers what she knows about the situation, Joan's eyes widen. Another glance set over to Stella but at Hella's request, nothing is said of what was relayed. "...Thank you."

And then her phone beeps.

Handing the coffe back to Bingo, Joan gives a sigh before looking to the message. Her shoulders slump. "I have to go. Major damage up town." Shifting to her feet, she looks back to the pair. "...Thanks. I'll try to catch Ted later."

With another glimpse of the phone to get the address in the message, she makes her way out.
Booster Gold A soft laugh from Booster at Hella's suggestion, and he shakes his head, and then nods. "No, and absolutely." He gives Joan a parting glance. "Think about what I said. Please." And then his attention is captured by the hottest thing he's ever seen. As he has mentioned twice before tonight.
Hella Rokkurdisardottir     Hella smiles and waves to Joan as she goes, hoping that she's done a good deed for the day. And, now, all that remains in the room is Hella, Booster, Skeets, and a few of the bots that tool around the place. So, with that, Hella holds out her hand for Booster to take. "Come see my place. We pick up treat for Brimmy on the way," she says with a big grin. And, whether he likes it or not, Hella drags Booster along with her, out the door, Skeets zooming along behind.
Booster Gold     Booster spares a glance in the direction of where Ted retreated too earlier, and sighs for a moment. "I hope I did the right thing..." But as soon as the offer from Hella appears, the smile returns to Booster's face. "Sounds like a plan to me!" And off the go.
The bots are left behind to tend to the snoozing Stella. They aren't total inconsiderates...
