Emiko Queen Emiko has been told she's got access to the public areas while they wait to confirm her identity (both as a person and a masked hero), so while Bart is taking a shift at the zoo, she's decided it would be much better to have dinner at the Tower than at a restaurant or the hotel. She sits lotus style on the floor in the living room, a spread of sushi before her, complete with a steaming pot of green tea. On the big tv is one of the old 70's asian action films. This one, The Five Deadly Venoms, is a staple of the Shaw Brothers studio that put out so many of these films between the 60s and 80s. She grins at the action scenes, watching the fight choreography with appreciation for the skill of the actors, and pops a piece of soy-dipped tuna into her mouth.
Wally West Though the Flash is a league member Wally has always felt more connected to the Titans and thus spend more time in the tower than the watchtower. But Wally was also hoping to catch is time traveling daughter on her off time. But today the tower seemed quite and Irey seemed not to be home.

He notices a young lady eating sushi and watching old martial arts movies. He had heard about this new 'red arrow' and was skeptical but he's terminally midwestern and thus super polite. "Hello nice to meet you I'm the Flash" Wally says as if the suit doesn't give it away.
Emiko Queen "Allen Flash or West Flash?" Emiko doesn't even pause, she takes the next piece of sashimi, dips it into a bit of soy, lers a touch of wasbi and pickled ginger, and pops it into her mouth. Setting the chopstick aside, she wipes her mouth and hands, finishing her food before offering him a smile. "Ah! West Flash. Which means you must be Wally." Rising up from the floor without use of her hands, she offers one of those hands out to him with a smile. "Emiko Queen. Red Arrow. Bart wanted me to meet you. He introduced me to Irie yesterday."
Wally West Wally is surprised to find this woman knows his and Barry's names. Bart blabbing seems likely enough but it's still surprising. Wally's time around the batfamily has instilled an awareness of how important secrt identites are. "You have me on that back foot. Ms Queen, so you're Oliver's ..." He trails off to let her finish that statement.
Bart Allen Bart Allen had an early night and was let go home early after one of his jobs got him rather messy. But after a quick stop at the roost to clean up, he has decided to come by the Tower, he wants to work on something, so plans on trying to find a lab, if they will let him into one. As he comes into the main room, the blur skids to a stop, and says "Oh Emi, Wally, you two have met cool."
Emiko Queen "Sister. Well, half-sister. Same father, different mothers." Emiko is still looking pleased as punch to meet him, still holding that hand out towards him. "Also one of his many proteges, though I like to think I was already pretty good before he took me in." She turns to smile at Bart, moving across to lean up and press a kiss to his cheek. "Hey Bart. There's sushi on the table and Shaw Brothers martial arts goodness on the tv." Then she's nodding, "Just! I think I surprised him."
Wally West Wally blushes at his accidental rudeness and shakes Emiko's hand. Oliver's sister, that seems a suitable person to take the red arrow moniker. "Well if Ollie vouches for you then welcome aboard Emiko! hey mind if i snatch a piece of ebi?"

"oh hey Bart how are things and how has Irie been I keep missing her" Wally says to bart as he snatches an shrimp from the sushi.
Bart Allen Bart Allen looks over and says "She was doing good last time I saw her, we were working on Emiko, showing us a few tricks with the bow earlier. He puts his arm around Emiko, and says "I will eat some in a bit, and if we need more, I can go get some more." He offers. "Got off work earlier than I had planned."
Emiko Queen "Thanks! Of course, I made sure to get a ton. Anything not eaten can go in the fridge." Emiko smiles once more and heads back to the table, seating herself on the floor again and picking up the chopsticks. "I'm sorry if I caught you off-guard. Even Ollie didn't know about me until six or seven years ago. And a lot of really crazy stuff has happened since then, so obviously making family introductions wasn't like... top of the priority list." She pulls Bart down with her onto the floor and starts setting aside a couple shrimp-based rolls for him. "I think if you get any more, the sushi place might shut down for lack of ingredients. I already ran them out of shrimp, red snapper, yellowfin, AND surf clam." She motions to the table laden with rolls, sashimi, and nigiri. "There's a few more bags in the kitchen too."
Wally West "Were you planning to feed speedsters or do you have a big appetite like we do too?" Wally says freely snarfing on more sushi. "So long lost sister, that it or are you from the future too? that seems to be a popular one these days"
Bart Allen Bart Allen smirks a bit and says "Na she is just dating someone from the future." He grins and kisses her cheek. He looks over to Wally, and says "I think hanging out with me, has changed her go to order to about five times what it used to be."
Emiko Queen "I always plan for Bart-sized appetites these days. Plus there's a lot of people that come and go from the Tower, so I thought having a lot on hand would be a good idea. That way, anyone who wanders through won't feel left out," Emiko turns a smile towards Wally before chuckling. "I can put away some food, but I'm simply not in your guys' league."

"Not so much long lost as... apparently purposely hidden and forgotten. Our dad was a dick. Its a really long, complicated story and I will be happy to share it if you really want to know but will not inflict it on you without permission," Emiko lifts a small shrug, looking very zen over the whole thing as she plucks up a surf clam nigiri and pops it into her mouth. She turns a smile to Bart and leans in against him, "I will always think of you when I get food. It cannot be easy feeding that belly on your salary and I have a trust fund."
Wally West Wally smirks at Bart and nods in approval. "very crash Bart"

"Ah the tragic Origin story. has the bat tried to recruit you he normally tries to collect all the tragic orphans. but Thats ok you can tell me if you want but I won't pry. though i do have some advice. Tungstin get some tungstin arrows. So that you and bart can do "the rods from god." an arrow thrown at top speed. " Wally says with a smile.
Bart Allen Bart Allen nods a bit and says "I have been showing her around abit, and letting her see what it is like to be moving at speed. Had not thought about you riding on my back and shooting from speed hon, we might have to try that see how it effects the arrows.
Emiko Queen "Oh mine is good, too. I'm half-Japanese so there's ancient clans of ninja assassins, rigorous training montages all through childhood, and betrayals all over the place. And death, of course. Lots of death." Emiko pauses, then smiles towards Wally and gives a nod, "I don't mind telling it, I get to be very badass in it at multiple points.. and it's good therapy to get it out there and not like... bottle it up. Good karma, you know?" The mention of tungsten arrows has her pulling out her phone and typing in a note to herself with a reminder attached, then tucks it away again with a grin, "Done and done."

The Origin Story. Emi settles in, plucking her her cup of tea for a sip, then starts, "I was born to Robert Queen and an assassin named Shado. He got my mother pregnant during their affair while he sought the Green Arrow. Item, not person. He stayed with her all through her pregnancy, but within months of my birth, decided that he needed to return to his wife and son back in Starling City. My mother, being a mercenary assassin working for the Ninth Circle was.. lacking in parental skills. I was kidnapped by a man calling himself Komodo. Once my father's protege, then his enemy. He raised me for the next.. almost a decade, to be the 'perfect killing machine'. He also had me believe HE was my father, and that my mother was dead. He was planning to have Robert Queen's child be the one that killed him. Lovely, right?"

She shakes her head and takes a sip of tea, then continues, "One day, a group of intruders show up. We fight, myself included. I learn that Komodo is NOT my father, and that one of the intruders is actually my mother, Shado, and very much alive. And that the man attacking Komodo is Robert Queen, my brother. Not that he knew that at the time. In either case, Komodo was about to kill Oliver so.. instead I killed him. Arrow, straight through the heart. My mother got to me first and spirited me away before I could actually talk to Oliver. She completed my 'born killer' training across the next five years or so."

"She then sent me to Oliver, with the plan to have her revenge by having me 'meet' Oliver and play on his emotions to get him to let me in. He did exactly that. So I drugged him, and the original Black Canary. We took them both, boarded a ship, and headed for the Ninth Circle. Oliver was dumped overboard, my mother's hope that he would die int he same manner our father had. We then took Canary to a holding area and kept her captive... until Oliver showed up. He wasn't going to die, you see, because I'd slipped a tracker into his clothes when I dumped him overboard, and had already alerted one of his friends to his whereabouts. So when Oliver showed up, I betrayed my mother, released the Canary, and helped them defeat my mother and her minions. Oliver brought me back to Starling City to live with him."

One might think that's the end. She pauses again, sipping from her tea, taking a breath. "A few years later, my mother kidnapped me again, planning to use me to gain the favor of a Yakuza Oyabun to save her own life. Instead, I escaped, went after the Oyabun myself, then left my mother to the Yakuza's wrath. And I went home to Oliver. There were.. more things that occurred, but those are really just familial matters as we figured out where we stood with one another." Emiko looks up to Wally and smiles, "And I don't think Batman would want me. I'm not traumatized enough."
Wally West Wally blushes "Well that different from how I do it with Roy... normally i just grab the arrow run and sort of javelin it. you know?"

Then Emiko drops her life story. Wally is taken aback by the thought that Emiko believes she came through all that 'not traumatised enough.' "Well that a lot dang. I just messed around in a lab like a dumb kid."
Bart Allen Bart Allen looks over to Wally, and been doing the whole side kick longer than anyone but maybe Nightwing, or Aqualad." He smiles and says "And graduated to being the Flash, I think thats a bit more than messing around a lab." He grins and rubs Emiko's back "Plus he has two new recruits already."
Emiko Queen "It -is- a lot, but I've had time and help to work through most of it. Though if Bart ever wants to take me to like.. ten years ago so I can punch Robert Queen really hard in the face? I wouldn't say no. Just one punch, though. Don't want to alter the timeline too much," Emi flashes a quick grin, then pours out some more tea and glances to both of them, "Would either of you care for some tea? Wally, you might like that roll to your left, with the orange dots on top? That has tempura shrimp as the main ingredient." She uses the chopsticks to point at the roll, then picks up another piece of sashimi and dips it into the soy sauce.

Looking to Bart, she smiles, "I think all of you are pretty damn impressive. Whether you were born with it, 'messed around in a lab, got struck by alien-born lightning... whatever. It's still VERY impressive." She leans in against him and pops the piece of sushi into her mouth, then offers up a piece of a shrimp roll to Bart.
Wally West "I made the most of it but boy were Barry, Iris and Grandpa joe mad at me for it at the time." Wally says before he seemingly appears in front of the bag emiko points out and munchin on the tempura shrimp. "I think for people like Batman and nightwing nonpowered heroes. it takes a lot to get a normal person to the point where they want to choose this kind of life. but for people that are gifted with powers they feel compelled to make the most of them. To do the most good they can. Like the kid in new york says. great power great responsibility. but like its proportional to the power. what I can what we can do Bart, is so great that we need to maximize the good we do with it. I can't imagine the struggle Superman has to balance his ability to interfer and trying not to be too controlling."
Bart Allen Bart Allen looks over and nods his head a bit and says "I am trying, Jay and Joan also stressed the having the life outside of speed as well. Why I am going to college and working at the zoo." He admits. "I have noticed we speedsters end up hanging out with multiple teams to help out more."
Emiko Queen Emiko looks to Wally, "I don't think my need to help is any less than yours. Only my ability to do as much. Even at the peak of physicality, honed to the finest, sharpest edge I can possibly be... I will never be able to -do- as much as you can. That doesn't make my desire any less, only my ability to fulfill that desire." She turns back to sushi and picks up her chopsticks, reaching for a bit of her favored eel. "I was trained to kill. I -have- killed. That's a pretty big motivator to do and be better. Because even if I'm not 'super', I'm not exactly normal either, am I. Raised by a mercenary, trained by ninja assassins.. not exactly a common upbringing." She flickers a brief smile.

THen she nudges Bart and smiles, "And dating. I would say dating falls under the 'life outside of speed'."
Bart Allen Bart Allen starts to say something and his phone rings. His brow raises not expecting a phone call, he does not get many. Looing at his phone and says "One minute it is the Zoo." He steps aside to talk on the phone for a minute and says "Ok yea, I can come back on." He sighs and walks back over to the group. "I need to go back in, they are having some problems with Harriet, and she is usually really good with me, so they want me to come in, see if I can get her calmed down so they can tranq her and get her exam done." He leans in kisses Emiko, and fists bumps Wally, luckily not getting that backwards, and he off, and it seems a couple of the trays of sushi have left with him.
Wally West Wally fist bumps Bart as he leaves. "stay safe"

"I didnt mean need as in desire but need as in obligation. yes you want to do as much as possible everyone who does this wants to do the most good. but those who can do more need to. or at least thats how i feel. I can't waste my power. I have to do what i can. I feel you, we have to make the most of it." Wally says fearing his earlier comments might have offended.
Emiko Queen Emiko smiles at him and gives a nod, "So.. you feel an obligation to do good with powers that you never expected to have? But I shouldn't feel obligated to do good with all the training I received that was meant to hurt, harm, or kill?" She lifts a hand and turns partially towards him, "I'm not angry. And I understand where you're coming from. But I think you do me and those like me a disservice by claiming that our obligation to right wrongs is any less than yours. For us? Most of us have -actively- hurt other people. Destroyed lives, companies, affected potentially thousands of people. With actions we consciously took, decisions we consciously made. We have an obligation to try and right as many of the wrongs as we possibly can. Even those who haven't... were often powerless to -stop- something horrible from happening. A defining moment where we had to make the conscious choice to do and be better. Just like you have. You -can- do more, that is your advantage. We -can't-, and that is our cross to bear. But the obligation isn't any less for our lack of ability." She motions to the food on the table, "Sometimes that is as simple as providing sustenance to those of our compatriots who -are- able to do more. To support them so they can do more. Sometimes it means doing it ourselves because one less place that you have to see to is only going to let you do more elsewhere. Batman has Gotham, The Arrows have Starling City. Two places that you aren't obliged to help because we're already there to do it. That lets you spread out more easily to places that -don't- have protectors." Shrugging, she smiles at the end, "Our obligation is the same, we just operate on different levels."
Wally West Wally seems a bit exasperated. "thats not what i meant either" He furrows his brow. "but I understand you and I concede the point."

Wally feels a mixture of shame and frustration but then smiles remembering another female sidekick Oliver once had. "I guess its a arrow thing huh being stubborn spitfires"
Emiko Queen Chuckling lightly, Emiko gives a nod, "I think I understand what you meant, and I think it's good that you feel that obligation. Without it you get those like the villains you fight against. The ones that are in it only for themselves, and damn the consequences or fallout to anyone else." She picks up her tea cup, sipping from it, "I think being stubborn and spitfires is a requirement for all of us Arrows. Probably because we've all had to argue against Ollie." She flashes a grin towards him.
Wally West "He still fussing over recycling bins?" Wally says in a joking way to break up the percieved tension, as he fixes a plate of tempura and sits on a couch to enjoy the movie.
