Owner Pose
Peter Parker Two PM, Greemwich Village, andd life is getting back to normal. T-shirts with slogans like I SURVIVED THE ANGEL INVASION OF 2022 and the like are selling at various shops, most of the damage is repaired, and the people are back for the most part.
Everything is getting back to normal.

"CAN'T THIS THING GO ANY FASTER?"
Chet grumbled, "Next time, steal one of those SHIELD APCs instead of some late-model truck, Connie. Just get us out of the area, and Little Miss Tiffany here is going to score us some getting-the-Hell-outta-Dodge money." Conrad looked to the sniffling little girl in Kid Gucci clothing and shook his head. "Besides, maybe it wasn't him!"

Above and about a quarter-mile behind (and gaining fast), Spider-Man barreled around the intersection at Wong's and catapulted himself forward, 70 feet above the pavement.

...Yep. TOTALLY normal.
Koriand'r It would almost be reassuring that things were going back to normal, if this weren't the 'normal' people had chosen to emulate. At least it was better than -another- apocolypse, right?

Well, for the goons in the truck who'd decided that kidnapping someone publicly outside the studio Kori had agreed to do a charity shoot for? The decision might be about to get a little harder.

The Spider might have a head start, but the erruption of flaming green energy streaking across the NYC skyline announced Starfire's pursuit. She wasn't dressed in her costume, indeed the orange-skinned alien was still wrapped in the one-piece swimsuit she'd been about to model.

But then, compared to some costumes and Tamaranian outfits? Who could tell the difference?
Peter Parker Spider-Man now had the truck in his sights. The HUD in his mask relayed the relevant data: six kidnappers, one little girl (Pamela Buckley) who was gonna be scared out of her tree. Jeez, you'd think they'd cut some people a break.

Okay...have to stop the truck, get Pam away from the bad guys, all while keeping the kidnappers from getting weird and doing something in some stupid We-Won't-Go-Alone idiocy. A tall order, even for your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Ma...

Uh-oh, incoming...wait. What the heck is THAT?
Koriand'r No fancy HUD, not even body armor, just flaming hair, glowing eyes and orange skin as she streaks through the air just below the swinging Spider's flight path, her own form arcing towards the truck as she made her judgements.

The Warlords that had trained her in combat would have suggested she simply destroy the kidnappers and pick the child out of the wreckage, but Kori had been a Titan on Earth long enough to adapt to their more...people friendly approach.

Of course, she didn't need to let the kidnappers know that.

Her path edges back, bringing her parallel in speed to Peter as she turns her head. "Hello!" she greets, almost overly friendly considering the situation. "Can you grab the child quickly if they are all looking or shooting at me?"

No introductions or anything, just a bright smile and a question in the midst of a chase.
Peter Parker Spidey looks over at the fireball and...holy Toledo it's a WOMAN?
Then she is asking a question and...hmm. This does change things. What could...?
Spidey does a somersault between weblines (it helped him think) and he came out of it with a plan.
"Okay, miss. There's a construction site coming up. I'll go in low, web the right rear wheel, that should get them off the street. They've got pistols and such, so...okay. You come in from the front, get their attention, I'll slide under the truck, pull the floor out, and get Pamela out of there. How's it sound?"
Koriand'r "Oh, okay," Kori shrugs, tilting her head to the side. "I was going to pull the roof off and..."

Starfire shrugs, tilt her head to the side before her eyes widen and her smile brightens. "If you want them off the street, it is better to do so quickly! I can stop the car -and- get their attention, you grab Pamela!"

The energy humming from her form and fingers almost seems to hum at a higher pitch as she zips forwards, sweeping for the car. "And do not worry about the guns!" she calls back in an afterthought.

Either she was insane, or bulletproof, but they were about to find out as Kori zipped in front of the car, her flight still moving backwards as her hands punched -into- the frame and she began to lift the car's wheels upwards, eliminating traction enough to slow the vehicle and then -lift- it so the drivers were looking downwards at a diagonal angle of the road and Kori herself.

"If you wish not to be destroyed, you will surrender to me!" she declares loudly, the alien warrior princess doing her best version of balancing heroic and threatening.
Peter Parker Spider-Man was instantly worried when she flew in front of them, and...

Holy gosh, she's lifting the truck. Everyone slides towards the front of the truck, except for Pamela, who grabs onto the railing she is handcuffed to, so she's hanging halfway up and a couple of feet above the kidnappers.

Which actually works out for Spidey, who simply yanks the rear lock off, slides the door upward, and then reaches out to grasp Pamela. He uses a handcuff key he bought from Amazon to undo the hasp.

By the time Conrad thinks to look at their meal ticket, Spider-Man had already yoinked her from the truck. But by that time, they were already surrendering, and soon pistols of various makes are tossed up and over the descending Spidey and Pamela as they climb down to the street.
As he guided Pam to the sidewalk a safe distance away, he looked back at Koriand'r and gave a soft "whew" of relief. It was not his plan, but he didn't know what she was capable of, or he might have planned differently.

Besides, Uncle Ben had told him to never argue with success.
"Uhm...I think you can put them down now," Spidey called out to Kori. "I doubt they're in any condition to make any more trouble."
Koriand'r The tall alien woman lifting the truck does at peast lower it relatively gently, twisted metal released by her fingers before the glowing fades and Koriand'r smiles, lifting her hands in an thumbs up. That was the human gesture for an affirmative that man of the Titans used after all.

With surrendering criminals swiftly handled by the police pursuit Kori lowers her hands to dust off the swimsuit that was probably going to need a little cleaning of metal fragments and chipped pain before the shoot continued. Then again, maybe it just made the look more striking!

Walking to the young victim as the cops sweep in, Kori bends down to her level with a smile. "It is a pleasure to meet you Pamela, you were very brave!"
Peter Parker Pamela, a young redhead of nine, nodded mutely, then almost jumped forward to hug Kori tightly. She stayed that way until the FBI car pulled up and Pam's parents jumped out, dressed to the nines in clothing that probably cost more than Pete's yearly tuition. Pam saw them and ran over to them, crying.

"Nice job, miss," Spider-Man said respectfully to Kori. "It wasn't the plan I had in mind, but yours worked, which is all that counts."
Koriand'r A warm hug returned from the Alien before the girl was offered a wave in departure and a little smile.

Kori turns as she's addressed, a little nod of her head and a bright grin offered. "I am thankful for your assistance too. I did not want them to risk crashing with the little girl in the car, and I find many of the 'bad guys' tend to pay attention to me, especially when I yell at them."
Peter Parker Spidey nods. "Yeas, I can easily see that happening." He then extended his hand to Kori. "I go by Spider-Man. Or Spidey. Or Webhead, if you don't think much of me. There are other names, but I'd rather you not know about them. They're not suitable for proper conversation."
Koriand'r That hand is taken, the grasp warm and perhaps a little strong that most would expect if she hadn't just been seen lifting a car moments ago. "I am Koriand'r of the planet Tamaran...or Starfire of the Titans here on Earth, if you prefer."

No secret identity for the tall orange-skinned alien here!

"It is a pleasure to meet you!"
Peter Parker Starfire? Okay, he'd seen that name once or twice, but seeing a name on a roster and shaking hands with the woman herself is like comparing a telegram to an IMAX film.

"Good to meet you too...I've seen your name when I was over at the Tower once..."
Right. the New Year's Eve party. Everyone from Vorpal to Wonder Girl to Supergirl to Janet van Dyne.
"...but I was just visiting." He's still shaking her hand. He stops the handshake after a solid 15 seconds or so, then chuckled. "I work out of New York, but with a lot of street crimes having roots in Metropolis and Gotham City, I show up at those places from time to time. I don't save the world on a regular basis like you Titans, but I keep pretty busy."
Koriand'r "I think I -might- have seen you?" she offers sheepishly before shrugging, "Or maybe I am remembering pictures from somewhere else."

The bugle wasn't exactly kind, but it -was- prolific!

"I go where I can lend a hand, sometimes it is nice to fly and see what I find, even if it is as simple as a new cart of hotdogs! I was actually here to...." she trails off, looking down at herself with a light frown. "....model. They might need to find a new suit for me though."
Peter Parker Spider-Man looked down at Kori.
Would it be bad to say that she'd look good wearing a burlap bag?

Yeah, it probably would. The breakup was still too fresh. Maybe you should give yourself some perspective before you go flirting with anyone?
Yeah, best way to go.

"Well, I'm sure they're not going to have any trouble. Want me to go back with you and...explain, maybe? If nothing else I could take the blame for it. It's sorta one of my unexpected gifts." He chuckles again, smiling under the mask.

He's not wrong, though...
Koriand'r Alien or not, the police were perhaps a little more forgiving of a Titan than the Webcrawller....well, slightly. Still, Kori wasn't likely the sort to refuse.

There was no badge or ID from the woman, merely her face was recognizable enough to the law enforcement, but she turns her head to nod and smile before gesturing for him to follow.

"Hopefully it will be quick, I am hungry now and I need to return this clothing."
Peter Parker Spider-Man grins. "Relax. I take blame like a champ."
He walks over to the only car that wasn't a police cruiser. Pamela and her parents were there talking amiably with the plainclothes detective.
"Uhm...detective...?"
The detective, a plain-faced woman that went well with the plain clothes, looked over at Spider-Man. "We'll be with you shortly." She turned back to Pamela. "So...you're saying Starfire was the one who rescued you?"
Pamela nodded, and looked up at her parents, who smiled reassuringly. "Yes, ma'am," Pamela chirped. "Spider-Man only showed up after it was all over."

Well...it appears he'd not going to get BLAMED for anything.
The detective nodded, then turned to Koriand'r. "The city of New York would like to thank you for your assistance. This bunch was a very violent group, and things don't end well with them. The Buckley family would also like to thank you personally, as well."
