Susan Sullivan     Susan walks into the robotics lab. Mairin had been gone for quite some time, and as such, there weren't any students milling about or working. It was just Susan. She'd expected to be let go or have to work under someone else when the semester changed over, but they were still paying her, and she was still able to access all the amazing tools and scientific equipment she wanted. She wasn't in GIRL, anymore, even probationarily, but getting raised from the dead apparently was enough to stop that.
The brunette's hair was long enough, now, she has to wear a cap to keep it under control when using tools. Today, she's got a wagon with a large pet carrier affixed. Once she does the brake, she kneels down and starts pulling out bits of metal, organizing them. She moves to the CNC and starts prepping a piece of thick, cast aluminum to be cut.
Kaida Connolly Slipping into the lab, the tiny mouse of power hasn't been here in a while. She wanted to check up on Demona and see how she was doing. It had been a minute but really? Kaida has been insanely busy. Between stuff on Themyscira, stuff in Wonderland, and stuff with angels, she's basically been going non-stop. Only recently did she even find time to take a breather and now she was slipping into this lab again.

"Hello!" calls the tiny voice of Kaida when she spots the brunette, her small hand popping up to wave once she is on the edge of the table nearest to Demona, casually sitting down and dangling her legs as she looks over what Demona is working on.
Susan Sullivan     Susan jumps at the words. She was allowed to be in the space, but her heart still speeds up as someone else comes in. "Who's there?" she asks. She sniffs at the air a moment and relaxes. "Oh, Kaida," she says. "I'm at the CNC machine. Are you hungry? I have peanut M&M's."
Kaida Connolly "Always!" She declares and races over to where Susan is and leaps up on to the highest point she can be to try to keep to eye level, "I am basically the living definition of hungry." She nods her head and peers over at the machine before looking to Susan.

"How have you been?" She asks and looks again at the machine. "I haven't been able to see anyone I know outside of the Titans and the mystic crew for a while due to a lot going on. I thought I'd come check up on you." She nods again before looking then around for the promised candies as well.
Susan Sullivan     Susan takes off her backpack and pulls out her lunchbox. It's got Princess Jasmine on it, and it's made of metal. Opening it, she pulls out a tupperware container full of peanut M&M's that's about the size of a half-height can of soda. She unscrews the lid and sets the food next to Kaida. "I'm okay, I guess," Susan says. "I'm working on my savings for when I get fired. I feel like it's coming." She reaches out and pets Kaida, if allowed. Regardless, she continues, "I've got a boyfriend, am apartment sitting a place I could be kicked out of at any time, my boss has gone missing, and I've basically been using university equipment on my own projects. I mean...why does the robotics department even have their own dedicated CNC or lathe or mill?"
Kaida Connolly A grin as she is given M&Ms and she smiles a little at the petting though she does wave off too much of it, "Well, umm, some of that is good?" She asks and tilts her head as one of her large ears twitches and she stares at Susan, "What's up with your boss?" She asks and looks at the equipment and then back at Susan, "And what happened between you and GIRL? Weren't you going to join up?" She asks and tilts her head, "I really thought that was going to be a thing but now I'm confused as to what is going on with you at all. I have been really busy and distracted, kinda sorry I haven't been keeping up with you more given you apparently have a lot going on."
Susan Sullivan     Susan huffs. "Mairin's been gone for about five months," she says. She waves around at the empty lab. "I'm apartment-sitting for her. I don't know if she's got direct automatic deposits for rent, but I'm not on the lease. I don't know when I'm going to be kicked out, and without her here to run the robotics program, I'm an assistant with nobody to assist." Pulling a USB drive from her pocket, she plugs it into a port on the front of the machine and selects a file, then hits go. It starts moving and begins working. "GIRL did preliminary scans of me when I wasn't quite alive," she says, barely audible over the din. "I'm fully alive, now, and I don't really scan like I did. I have a heartbeat, for one." She shrugs. "I tried to get with someone there to get back in, but nobody wants to listen to me."
Kaida Connolly A blink at that and Kaida tilts her head, "I'm confused. No one wants to listen to you? Who did you speak to?" She asks and then looks around the room before looking back to her, "And all of this is very strange. I don't know much about it but I know that I can at least try to find out why you aren't being given another opportunity at GIRL?" She asks and tilts her head at the woman, "I really don't hang out at the GIRL labs as much as I'd like so I'm not as active there as the others."
Susan Sullivan     "If you'd like to, you can," Susan says. The tiny mouse girl's voice is at least on a higher register than all the machine noise, but Susan responds to it as if she's not having any problems hearing. She huffs out a breath and says, "I'm not as worried about that as I am about the life stuff." She admits, "I really don't want to have to impose on my boyfriend to have to take me in. We only just started dating a couple weeks ago."
Kaida Connolly "I can ask!" She nods her head, "I mean, the worst that'll happen is they'll say no?" She chuckles and shrugs before looking around the room, "I mean, until then I'd recommend doing what you can here." She shrugs, "I haven't ever really lived my life according to worrying about what might happen next. I plan, I plot and then I roll with it. It comes with being a mouse." She nods her head, "Tomorrow isn't ever really guranteed." The tiny girl shrugs and casually pops another M&M.

"Of course, now I feel bad for eating some of this!" SHe gestures, "You might need food, too!"
Susan Sullivan     Susan looks at Kaida with a smile on her face. "No," she says. "Consider it a benefit of hanging out with me. I like you. You're cute and soft and nice, and I don't feel like I have to hide anything around you." She looks over at the noisy machine working the aluminum. She looks back at Kaida and says, "Where are you staying?"
Kaida Connolly "I am a Titan!" She declares and stands up taller before putting tiny hands on her hips, "I have a HUGE room in the tower!" She nods her head, "At least by my standards. It's super big, filled wiht all kinds of amazing stuff I was able to gather together." She chuckles, "And you never really need to hide around me! I'm a mouse!" She chuckles and shrugs and nods her head, "I mean, who am I to judge? I have been to some rather gross places to get by and eaten some pretty gross stuff. I am not really one to judge anyone when it comes to everyday life. Only when it comes to villainy!"
Susan Sullivan     Susan listens patiently to Kaida, though it doesn't take as long as it would with other people. She seems to do everything fast, after all. "Oh yeah?" she says. "That's pretty cool." She reaches out and runs her finger over the mouse's soft, furry head. "I would never want to keep you as a pet," she says, "but you'd be a fun roommate." She looks over to the macine progress and watches it for a moment. She wants to pay attention to Kaida more (SO CUTE!), but one must babysit many automated machines. Not so much 3D printers...
Kaida Connolly "Pfft, I'm no pet! If anything, I'd keep you as a pet." She snickers and grins before shaking her head, "Joking! And that's a neat idea but yeah, I've got a spot and I really can't pay rent. I kinda just...ya know, sneak what I can sneak most of the time. Lately I do have an allowance though. Which is nice." She then shrugs and pops another M&M before looking over at the machine before looking again to Susan, "What's ya making, anyway?"
Susan Sullivan     Susan raises her eyebrows even as her eyes narrow. She works on how to explain. "How much do you know about electromechanical relays, electric vehicle power converters, aluminum welding, arc reactors, extra-light batteries, and fusion reactors?" she asks, looking over at Kaida curiously.
Kaida Connolly "A little!" She grins and shrugs, "I mean, I have some basica understanding about welding, electric vehicle power converters, and I get the basics on how fusion reactors work." She nods, "MY area of expertise is biochemistry." She nods her head, "So, I'm more focused on how the chemicals interact with biology, biology itself, and of course chemistry. It's why I can understand some of it because some of it is chemistry." She nods her head.
Susan Sullivan     "I don't know as much as I need to about any of that," Susan says. "My expertise is item replication. I used to make prop replicas with my dad when I lived with my parents. Right now, I'm doing my best to make a home from scratch." She huffs. "The longevity is going to be problematic," she complains.
Kaida Connolly "Ah, I see." She states and then nods her head, "I mean, maybe we can help if I can get the right people involved over at GIRL. I really don't knwo what happened there or what will happen but I'm sure we have people who know just what you need." She gives a tiny thumbs up before shrugging, "Who's your boyfriend, anyway?"
Susan Sullivan     Susan smiles as she's asked about him. She can't stop herself. "His name is Peter," she says. "He's very sweet, incredibly respectful, likes me for who I am, and wants me to start meeting his friends." She blushes just slightly before admitting, "I confess, I've kind of been crushing hard since I first saw him a few months ago."
