Billy Kaplan Night has fallen on New York City. Spring is here. The weather is turning. And Coffee of DOOM, one of Billy's favorite hangouts, is packed. Billy has a table inside with a book he's reading, an orange-liquer-infused coffee, and some cinnamon cake waiting for him. But he wanted to come outside and vape and clear his head a bit. He takes a big drag from his vape device and slowly exhales the vapor in a long, dancing stream out into the night air. It smells of cherry vanilla. He's leaning back against a wall with one knee bent so that the bottom of one of his shoes is up against the wall. A few regulars are on their way into the coffee shop and they greet Billy by name. He spends a lot of time here.
Selene Corvinus It can be heard on the edge of Billy's hearing. The sound of a motorcycle getting closer. It's one of those times where its getting closer and closer until its right there, coming up on the young man's location. The engine is primed, it sounds like a high dollar sport bike, and when it shows up, its bright white headlight shines strong upon the pavement as it comes to an abrupt stop, its engine revving once before its killed.

Silence.

Upon the bike is a single figure, dressed all in black, no helmet, her eyes are down upon the controls of her bike as she just sits there, straddling the bike beneath her backside.

Her eyes come up after a moment and she stuffs a smart phone in to the pocket of her lont black leather trenchcoat that is draped back over the edge of the fully black hued motorcycle.

The rider looks at the coffee shop, her pale skinned face visible now, a young woman... doesn't look to be beyond her early twenties, maybe not even out of her teens!
Billy Kaplan With keen interest, Billy watches the bike approach. As established, he spends a lot of time at Coffee of DOOM and he has never seen this girl before. She gets a lot of attention from bystanders, including a small group of frat boy shitheads over at the corner. Billy has seen their M.O. before and he knows it's just a matter of moments before one of them builds up the courage to go bother this girl. So, shining knight that he is, Billy decides to go talk to her first.

Taking one more hit from his vape before stuffing it back in his pocket, Billy pushes off the wall and walks over to the bike and its owner. "Cool ride," he says. "That's a badass-looking bike." Then the good-natured kid chuckles. "I'm Billy and I'm kinda sorta saving you from the Biff and Chad brigade over there who were like thirty seconds away from coming over here to start hitting on you."
Selene Corvinus When you've been around as long as Selene has, you come to know when people are checking you out... its a ... refined sense, to speak, by this point of her lifespan. She's just poised on the bike though, with her booted feet planted on either side of it as Billy approaches her and speaks. Her dark brown eyes look to his face, then a light grin ghosts its way across her pink lips.

She leans to the side, the leather of her tight fitting clothing creaking against her body as she does this, and peers at the men he was referring to..

When she leans back, she speaks to Billy, her voice sultry and accented in a European flavor, mixed with British, and otherwise all within the enunciation of her words.

"They're cute." She says. "Maybe I'll take them up on it?" She says, that husky voice of hers defies her youthful looks.

She's teasing him though,k and the sly grin she has shows it.
Billy Kaplan Billy's gaze shifts over to the frat boys for a moment. I mean, it isn't like he hasn't thought about it. They are kinda hot, but their outhouse personalities just douse any flames instantly. The irony is if they would just relax and be normal, they'd probably have girls crawling all over them. A small shrug. Whatever.

The young reality bender's gaze sizes up Selena. "Yeah, you definitely look like you can handle yourself," Billy says after a small chuckle. "They wouldn't know what hit 'em. Not sure if they would end up crying, thanking God, or both."

Looking over his shoulder at the shop, Billy asks, "Did you stop by for coffee?"
Selene Corvinus Selene's hands are atop her leather encased thighs. She listens to Billy's response and looks to the right as a vehicle pulls up to park. The people within it step out, both glancing her way, which isn't a very uncommon thing for the woman in black. "I'm afraid I'd have to disappoint them tonight." Selene says then as she looks back over to Billy, and after a moment, just dips her chin in a single nod toward him.

"I have a ... business meeting tonight. The person I'm seeing has a very specific taste for what kind of coffee they like. I thought I would order it and bring it to them. You know, an ice breaker, of sorts."

She upnods at the front window of the store then.

"In fact, that is it on the counter, I believe. I don't suppose you'd be a hero for me this evening, and go in and get it? Save me from walking past your frat fellows..."
Billy Kaplan Billy actually, genuinely /is/ that nice of a guy. He looks over his shoulder and sees the to-go order sitting on the counter. He looks back at Selene and can't help but let out a small, rolling laugh. "Fine. But for the record, I'm gay. And the only reason I'm saying that is to establish that I'm not simping you." He winks a playful wink and ducks into the shop.

Through the window, Billy can be seen walking up to the counter. He talks to one of the employees -- and they all know Billy very well -- who then gestures to the to-go order. Billy points out at Selene. The employee nods and pushes the order toward Billy. He re-emerges with the order and hands it off to Selene.
Selene Corvinus The young Billy got another grin out of the woman who doesn't appear to be any older than he is, yet still has an air about her that suggests otherwise. She watches him go back inside before she looks to those jocky-dudes who are nodding toward her. she dips her chin in a nod right back at them before she looks away for a moment. Her phone buzzes, but she leaves it in her coat... When she looks back, Billy is returning.

"And I have a girlfriend. So aren't we very... 2022." Selene finishes what he was saying before he ran inside. She takes the order from him and then does reach in to her pocket. She pulls out a very old coin, not from the United States at all. It is so old it doesn't even have a date on it. "Tip for the delivery." She tells him then before putting the cup in to the bike's holder and moving to turn it back on.

"Thank you, and my name is Selene. If you're here next time I come by, I'll make sure to buy your drink for you."
Billy Kaplan Billy comes from a wealthy family and normally would be completely uninterested in any sort of tip, but the coin is fascinating looking. He accepts it, turning it over in his fingers slowly. "This is...this is really cool." He looks back up with a sheepish grin. "Well, I'd like to say I'm out living the wild life, but the truth is I'm here a /lot/. So I guess if someone wanted to assassinate me, this is where they'd do it."

He gives a friendly nod. "Nice meeting ya, Selene." Then Billy turns and heads into the shop to finish his coffee and cake.
