Sarah Rainmaker Sometimes a girl just needs space. Or at least to get out. And she's probably just about as safe here in the big, nice and expensive area of the city as she is anywhere else just due to all the people and, if push came to shove the superheroes about. Sarah Rainmaker is, however, very, very alert to her surroundings as she would go along. Paying attention to traffic. To people. Watching things out of the corner of her eyes or with her senses to try and pick up anything that would stand out or indicate more than a passing awareness of her own presence.
Helena Bertinelli Helena Bertinelli had come to Metropolis for a day out. Enjoying the fact that her school was on Spring Break already, it was a chance to relax and not have to review lesson plans, grade papers or have parent/teacher meetings. Dressed comfortably for the still-cool early Spring weather, she wore a well tailored burgundy leather jacket over a gray turtleneck and frayed denim jeans. Chunky hiking boots kept her feet warm and a green wool cap was tugged down over her dark hair as she made her way along the street. It was less of a shopping district but there were still some higher end boutiques tucked in amongst the corporate oppulance of the area. She carried two small shopping bags from stops already, a relaxed smile on her features. It wasn't a bad Saturday afternoon so far!
Sarah Rainmaker Sarah Rainmaker is moving along a bit too alertly to be just normal. It could laso be the quick glances she gave over her shoulder or to anyone in passing that were probably noticable. And how careful she was being at avoiding stepping in to anyone.. And making sure to keep space even in the tight confines of the sidewalk. She would be jogging quickly. And just wearing a long t-shirt and set of jeans. Even in the spring, a bit unusual.
Helena Bertinelli Helena Bertinelli wasn't in vigilante mode but the lack of winter attire was curious. She looked at the young woman with a curious expression. She was still smiling as she drew close to Sarah. She wasn't one to mess with other people's chosen ways of doing things so she just offered a greeting,

"Hello." A smile and a nod as she slowed and stepped aside to allow other pedestrians to filter past.
Sarah Rainmaker At this point there would be a compress of pedestrians and for whatever reason there was no going past them without shoving them. Sarah Rainmaker would put up a smile, "Ah, hello. Forgievc me, just been a few rough days." Her offering out that general banality just for explanation.
Helena Bertinelli Helena Bertinelli turns her body to mae herself easier to pass by the throng. "I'm sorry to hear that. Not... well you know. Just meet and all. But, yeah. You know." She offers a sort of helpless shrug as she glances along the sidewalk to sort of prepare for the next rush of passersby. Then back to Sarah. "Kind of cold out here without a jacket still, though?"
Sarah Rainmaker Sarah Rainmaker would shrug, "I don't notice it htat much. The buildings block most of hte winds and this city tends to feel sweltering. But I'm from the plains." By the way she said it, she probably meant hte Great Plains.
Helena Bertinelli Helena Bertinelli nods some, "Well, okay.. I.." She laughs. "Meeting randomly is never as easy as they make it in the movies, hmm? Don't mind me." She shrugs a little "I'm not really trying to interrupt your day or anything."
Sarah Rainmaker Sarah Rainmaker would shake her head, "no, you're not. I'm sorry for getting in your way. Just walking to clear my head and realizing I have no remote idea where I'm going or what I'm doing."
Helena Bertinelli Helena Bertinelli smiles, "You weren't in my way, it's just a herd of people going every direction. Not really any different here than Gotham or New York, I guess." She tilts her head, "Not sure where you're going or what you're doing? That.. seems kind of ominous? Are you okay?" SHe looks more directly at the young woman now as if seeing her for the first time.
Sarah Rainmaker Sarah Rainmaker would smile and shake ehr head, "Oh, just.." Trying to find the right banal phrase, "Family things. Figuring out some thigns with my siblings." A very vague answer but with all thee motional sorts of clarity in her tone to make it at least generally clear.
Helena Bertinelli Helena Bertinelli nods. As a teacher she has something of an instinct when things aren't what they seem. However, it really isn't her place. Still, the young woman seems rather remarkable and perhaps out of place "Well I'm no therapist - family or otherwise - but I'm a highschool teacher. If it would help to talk to an impartial party, I've been told I'm a halfway decent listener.." she offers a smile "or not of course. No pressure."
Sarah Rainmaker Sarah Rainmaker would laugh, "I see. Soby that you're some sort of killer then or psychopath if you can tolerate children at that age? In which case I'm no tsure whether I should sympathize for you or for them?"
Helena Bertinelli Helena Bertinelli laughs, "Oh it's a bit of both. Self masochism to put up with hormonal teenagers that think they already know everything.. and some sadism in forcing them to realize the universe does not, yet, revolve around any one of them or all of them" she says with a grin. "But really. I'm Helena Bertinelli, by the way." She reacches slowly for her purse, "I won't keep you. But if you ever want to talk?" She pulls out a business card that certainly seems to indicate she is who she says she is, complete with being an English teacher or the Gotham School District. You're welcome to call me?"
