Kitty Pryde Kitty Pryde arrives at Katz's Deli about the same time as many people heading home from work do, stopping off for a meal or to pick up something to take home. It means it is packed. Few seats are available, and the lines are long.

Kitty gets in the line for the sandwiches. She pulls out her phone, tapping away on it though glancing up and now and then at the people around. She eventually gets up to the front of the line, after a good twenty minutes.

"Hey there," she says, pocketing her phone and drumming her hands quietly on the counter. "I'd like a sourdough role, roast beef, sharp cheddar, chipotle mayo, lettuce, pastrami, and salami, please. With a side order of pickle wedges, and curly fries."

She moves to pay while they get her sandwich together. Already salivating at the thought of the sandwich she hasn't had in months, since she moved back to Westchester.
Jan de Wit Stepping in from the early evening air, is Jan. He's got hands in the pockets of his coat, smiling as the scents of the deli waft into his face. Such a wonderful set of aromas! The man gets in line, moving to stand politely behind Kitty, waiting his turn.

As she moves into payment, the man places his order. "Ham and turkey, please. Provalone, lettuce, bell peppers, cucumbers, parmesan, vinegar and oil." He grins. "On wheat, if you have it?"

A friendly smile over to Kitty as she's settling her tab.
Kitty Pryde Kitty Pryde pays with a swipe of her phone, after adding a bottle of raspberry lemonade. She glances up and over to Jan, giving him a friendly enough return smile. "Been craving this sandwich for so long," she comments to him before stepping aside to let him pay.

Her sandwich arrives at the orders counter not long after. She takes the to go bag with a thank you to the employee who gives it to her. Kitty opens it up to check that everything is there, and then pops open the little container with the pickles to pull one of the spears out to nibble on, apparently while she travels home.
Jan de Wit The payment is made by tapping his phone to the pin pad, Jan grinning happily. "Nowhere makes a sandwich like Katz'." He nods to the young woman. "It's done just right, with the perfect ingredients." He says, waiting as his own sandwich is wrapped up.

As she sneaks out the dill spear, he chuckles. "Enjoy!" A raise of his bag to her, as he's handed his own order.
Kitty Pryde "You're not kidding," Kitty says. "I went to school in the UK for two years, and dreamt about this sandwich sometimes," she tells Jan with a grin. "Not saying it's better than sex. But it's better than really bad sex at least," she adds, giving the handsome man a quick smile.

She moves off, making room for the many people in line who are moving to pick up their own orders after paying. The dill spear is munched quickly, Kitty getting a napkin to wipe her fingers. Then the sandwich itself is pulled out. She unwraps it, apparently planning to eat it on her trip home.

Kitty moves slowly towards the exit out to the street. She walks at a slow pace as she brings the toasted sandwich up to her nose to inhale the scent of it. "Oh yeah, that's the one," she murmurs, just savoring the aromas prior to taking a bite.
Jan de Wit There's a blink from the man. "Dreams of sandwiches... I can somewhat understand that. I cannot understand bad sex, thankfully." The man muses. "Let alone really bad sex!" Jan chuckles, collecting up some napkins to take with him.

Then he's stepping clear of the line - no one wants to be that guy holding up things at the deli! A grin as he watches Kitty thoroughly enjoy her procured sandwich. "Don't eat too fast, you'll miss the best notes of the flavor." He warns.
Kitty Pryde Kitty Pryde grins back to Jan, and nods at his advice. "Oh, I'm going to savor this," she tells him. She's intent enough on her sandwich that she hasn't even recognized him! Which is saying something considering the young woman once had ambitions of being a dancer herself when she was younger.

She makes her way to the door, stepping outside as someone holds it for her. Her phone must ring, for Kitty answers it. Jan can't hear what's said, with her outside, but from her expression something must be. Kitty gives a few quick nods, replying into the phone then hanging it up. She takes a quick step to start moving down the sidewalk, opening her mouth as she brings the sandwich to it.

And a hurrying man bumps into her, sending the sandwich flying, the various parts of it flying in all directions! It lands on the sidewalk, Kitty just staring at it in mourning. Whatever the call was though, it must have some urgency as she sighs and turns, jogging off down the sidewalk rather than going in to get another.
