Jamie Madrox It's not every day Jamie Madrox shows up at the Xavier School just to hang out; it's even rarer that he's just hanging around the lounge. And yet, there he is... and there... and there... and there... and there... why are there five Jamies, all at different spots of the lounge, doing different things? Two are reading two very different books (_Heart-Shaped Box_, _Consider Phlebas_), another is writing in a tiny notebook, another is watching his phone, and a third is just snoozing on the couch, head lolled back.
Rogue Rogue is coming down the base corridor pulling her radio flyer red wagon by its black handle. In the wagon are a load of boxes and bags filled with supplies for the lounge.

The Belle is dressed in her green and gold bodysuit, with her leather bomber jacket worn over it. Her sunglasses are up on her hairline, and her two-toned hair is loose around her shoulders.

She stops just inside the doorway as she sees... five Jamies. IT makes her smirk. "Now this some serious loungin'." The Belle tells the five of them as she starts to wheel the wagon in tot he room toward the kitchen area...

"Ya don't mess around, do ya?" she asks in that sassy tone of hers.
Jamie Madrox "Gotta get it in while the getting's good," the Jamie looking at his phone says, finally glancing up and smiling.

Then, all five Jamies say, "Hi, Rogue," in unison, which could be fairly creepy, if it weren't for the fact that it's Jamie Madrox and this is standard for him.

The Jamie who was sleeping goes back to cat-napping and the one who had the phone smiles at Rogue. "What's cookin', good lookin'?"
Rogue Wheeling the wagon in to the kitchen now, Rogue just has a grin across her visage at the reaction that the five of them give her. "Oh, you know. My usual crappy jobs around here. 'Go get this for us, Rogue' 'Go stock these cabinets for us, Rogue.'" She starts to say as she picks up the bags and boxes out of the wagon to set them on the lounge counters.

"Not that I am complainin'. It's better than just layin' around all day." She says then back to the one with the phone, giving him a grin.

"What about you?" She asks him, since addressing them all as seperate people is kinda weird!
Jamie Madrox "Just catchin' up on some reading and napping and whatnot. You'd be surprised how it all adds up even when you can do a bunch of things at the same time. But if one of me spends the day snoozing around and just being lazy, when I pop'em all back in together, I don't feel as tired." He shrugs. "Weird metaphysics, right?"

He grabs one of the bags to help her out. "S'what you get for being strong and able to fly. The crappy jobs."
Rogue Rogue starts with some of the important stuff. Bottles of booze. She gets them up in to their cabinet before she puts one in the fridge freezer too. When she turns around around, she grins at him, and shakes her head lightly.

"I've experienced a lotta other people's mutations. Ya know, what with my ability to 'borrow' them. But, yours is an odd one. Not sure how I'd feel about bein' able t'do the things you do. I can ... literally fly around the world, if I was so inclined... But bein' in multiple places at the same time? Kinda makes my head hurt just t'think about it." She comments while reaching for another bag filled with some basic snack foods, since this is an X-Men only lounge, there's a lot more stuff like booze and snacks that don't get immediately eaten like upstairs.
Jamie Madrox Jamie Madrox says, "Oh, it's not that bad. It segments pretty easily. At least, for me. I think there's got to be some sort of Required Secondary Ability to compartmentalize or some shit, you know? Besides, it's not like I'm telepathically everywhere at once," Jamie points out as he helps her distribute things along the lounge kitchen. "Each one has his own consciousness once they pop out, and then it only gets all mixed up when we merge again. So the confusion only comes later. At this point it's really only confusing for other people. I just take it as having been where a dupe was, whether it was me or a dupe, doesn't matter." He smiles at her. "Makes for a very long life, though." Considering he's made literally _dozens upon dozens upon dozens_ over the last few years and some have gone off to do things like learn whole martial arts, earn degrees, learn whole trades... "Dates can be a little difficult. Like, remember when you did a thing? Because I have to make sure it wasn't some other dupe doing something similar...""
Rogue Rogue pauses in her grocery stocking to just lean back against the counter with her gloved hands on either side of her hips. She just listens, and stares at him. "Wow." She says quietly at his explanation. "I mean, I've heard you say some of this before, but yeah... it just makes it seem... wild." She smirks lightly then. "Like you've been able t'use it t'learn all kindsa stuff. That is pretty remarkable. I'd use it t'learn how t'program the microwave clock, and do my college work at the same time." She states with a grin.

"And probably about a million other things too." She then adds with a snicker as she goes back to the last bag of stuff that she takes over to the fridge to start unloading.

"I imagine the point where you reabsorb some of them is kinda similar t'what I feel when I absorb somebody."
Jamie Madrox "I have a degree in electrical engineering. I got it just so I could program the microwave," Jamie says, winking at her. "But I mean, maybe, yeah. You might have to try my powers out some day so you can tell for sure. But for me it's almost seamless now. It used to be a lot more chaotic and schizophrenia inducing, but now... I've got it down, you know? Especially since I stopped trying to figure out _which dupe_ did _what_. They're all me. It doesn't matter."

He pauses, then adds: "But they do spend a lot of time away from me sometimes so one thing I don't do is like, monogamy, you know? Just because yikes."
Rogue With the bag emptied, Rogue closes the fridge door and wads it up as she laughs at what he says. "I dunno if you want me droppin' you in to a coma, just so I can try out your powers there." She comments to him while stuffing the bags in to one of the empty booze boxes. She grins over at him then. "Plus, I dunno if the school could handle fifty'a me walkin', runnin', and struttin' around. Place might go absolutely bonkers." She boasts in good natured fun.

Stepping back then she picks up one of the small containers of walnuts and pops it open. She takes out a few, then offers him some should he want it.

"But, the up sides'a that ability are crazy. There might be a version'a you scalin' Mount Everest right now, or somethin'." She says with another grin.
Jamie Madrox "Did that two years ago. But there's one right now that's learning to free-climb buildings." He furrows his brow. "Last one who did it didn't, uh, make it. But I've learned parkour since then and that's helped a _lot_, you know?" He grins at her. "Do you only put people in comas? Can't you regulate that shit even a little?" He doesn't look worried, just interested.
Rogue Rogue frowns at the thought of one of the Jamie's falling from a building to his 'death'. She shakes her head gently at his question as she eats a few of the walnuts.

"I have control of my touch. At least a little now. I've been workin' on it for over a year. Emma, and Jean, helped me come t'realize that every time I absorbed someone, it built up a 'mental wall' of sorts. I have to keep those walls down in order to safely touch a person. Which... gets hard if I get angry, or afraid." She smirks then at him. "The bonus there is not much scares me, but, just about everythin' upsets me." She says with a light laugh at herself.

Once more she shakes her head though. "So, yeah, I have limited control, I guess. But I have to 'flip it on' willingly. It's... complicated, and I've found the longer I have it 'on' the more I'll get a headache when I turn it off again."
Jamie Madrox Jamie listens and bobs his head, nodding as he takes nuts and whatnot. He pops them into his mouth and considers what she's saying, thinking. "So you can control the on-and-off, but not so much the intensity of the absorption when you do turn it on?" He seems to be thinking about this. "At least you're controlling the touch thing now," he says, grinning.
Rogue Rogue nods her head two quick times to his question. "Right." She says then. "I still don't have the ability to absorb someone, but not also put them in to a deep, deep sleep." She says with a grim smirk. "Maybe someday. I mean... When I got here, I was a mental mess. Like my head was a whole jumbled up nest'a crazy." She says back at him with a sly grin.

"So, four years later, bein' at this place has helped me a damn ton. Maybe in another four years, I'll be a fully capable, normal'ish, person." She says next with a little huff of a laugh at the situation.

"Normal as one'a us can get, anyhow."
Jamie Madrox "That's a low bar, Rogue," Jamie says with a sudden laugh. "'Normal'." He snorts and shakes his head. "I'm glad you've got more control." He smiles at her. "It couldn't've been easy to not be able to, like, touch anyone." He furrows his brow and frowns. "I wonder what your power would do to a dupe..." He looks at the other four, then shakes his head. "Nah, probably a bad idea."
Rogue "It... uh..." Rogue considers while enjoying another one of the walnuts. She shifts her weight a bit from booted foot to foot. "It sucked. I mean. I've grown t'love my mutation. Cherish it, really. But, in the early days it made me feel utterly isolated. Like I was doomed for a life of cold, separation." She smirks then before her eyes dart away from the Jamie that she's looking at, toward the others in the room.

"For all we know, it could make every single Jamie 'out there' suddenly drop inta a coma." She says with a lugh. "So if you've got any flyin' a plane, or drivin' a car... It could be real bad."

Her shoulders shrug then inside her suit and jacket. "Could just drop the one though, and not the whole 'chain'. Really don't know."
Jamie Madrox "Yeah, can't imagine it was any fun." Jamie frowns a bit, then gives Rogue a soft, sad smile.

He glances over at the other Madri and then laughs, shaking his head. "Let's avoid that kind of risk. But if you're up for it, when you've got a little more control on the intensity, we could try it out. Make sure I'm safe in all iterations before you touch'a, touch'a, touch me."
Rogue This has Rogue laughing softly again as she puts the lid back on the walnuts container, then slides it on to the counter. She looks back at him before reaching her hand up to wiggle her gloved fingers at his face teasingly. "I'll let ya know if I gain any control'a that part of it." She says then, flashing him a grin before she reaches for some of the bags and boxes, to put them back in the wagon.

"In the mean time, I'll let you, an' your friends here, get back t'what you were doin'." She adds whilst reaching for the wagon handle once more. "Try not t'eat all the stuff I just stocked in here, huh?" She says, tapping him on the chest then with a gloved finger.
Jamie Madrox "Sounds good to me. And hey, if you ever need to talk to anyone, I'm a certified counselor with a degree in psychology." Jamie shrugs. "Or a pretty decent bar friend. Whatever you need." He flashes her a grin.

"I wouldn't do that. Them, on the other hand..."
Rogue Rogue laughs softly at him as she starts to pull on the wagon handle leading it, and its rubbery wheels back toward the lounge exit. On her way behind the sofa, she leans over and flicks the sleeping Jamie on the tip of his nose.

"I'll remember that, Sugah." She says with a big grin over her shoulder then while pulling that Radio Flyer along behind her.

"Ya'll stay outta trouble now, ya hear?" The southern gal says on her way out of the room back tothe shiny X-Base corridor.
