Veira de Wit Life the last month had been...hectic. At least for Veira. The tall gothy woman had been handed off a few documents to analyze and report back to Homeland with. She did such good work on that task that they decided that she would be the perfect person to do an extraction...nowhere near home though. This is what sucked about dating people with top level security clearance, they couldn't share things. Or rarely they could with a spouse.

She was gone a few days and then back. Things didn't go badly or if they had she had healed from everything. She had decided that a short vacation was in order.

Jan was probably getting spoiled with home cooked food. Hopefully he didn't have to work out extra in the gym or in practice!

Monday has rolled around and it is a beautiful evening out, Veira had taken the dogs out to play and enjoy the smell of Spring that had set in. Maica is trying to out run the puppies and Veira's tossing tennis balls to help them run off the energy before anyone heads in for the end of the night.
Jan de Wit As always, Jan was practicing and performing - plenty to have kept him busy during her absence. He'd kept in touch, sending her texts every day - even if she could not respond. Covert action, after all!

When she mentioned the vacation, he was all smiles - more than happy to have her home, safe and sound. The pups were overjoyed as well, bouncing and bounding. They were growing so quickly, becoming more like their mother every day. Orchid was accustomed to her orthopedic replacement, and was racing around with the pups as well - exceedingly happy to be free to do so.

Thank goodness for his enhanced metabolism! Having finished his workout, he steps out into the yard - feet bare to feel the grass between his toes. He grins, spotting the ball chasing and tossing. "They could do this all day, you know." He offers over to Veira as he nears her, leaning in to kiss at her shoulder. "They are bundles of energy the likes of which I'd never thought possible."
Veira de Wit "Get it guys!" Veira laughs as she is chased, throwing one of the balls to save herself from the inevitable puppy pile. That's when she sees a familiar figure head out into the yard. "You're a brave soul." she chuckles to him. "And yes, I believe that they could run circles all across the earth if they were allowed." she admits with a grin. The kiss to her shoulder makes her smile.

She then takes the moment to lean in and kiss his cheek, "How was practice today?" she asks him. She was happy to be home with them and even happier to be able to hear about his day. "I figured that I'd run their excess energy off before bed...or try. They sleep much better when they are properly exhausted...and our boy snores." she whispers softly.

Orchid and the pups take off after the ball that is thrown. Ball is life.
Jan de Wit He moves to stand near her, an arm around her lower back. "Brave? Or precognitive?" He teases, no fear of the lawn at the moment. His toes wiggle in the grass as they watch the dogs zoom after the ball. "I am just glad to see them happy and free." Jan admits. "And how much they are all thriving."

"Practice was good - I feel I have the routine down on reflex." A smile. "Which is fortunate for the other dancers - I won't miss catching them." He half-teases. "He does. It is adorable until it gets to be louder." The man chuckles. "Perhaps we'll find a good set of dog beds so they can snooze together near the vents downstairs." A shake of his head. "Not that it will matter, they like the bed." Another quick kiss to her cheek, and he kneels to receive the three dogs as they race back with the ball.
Veira de Wit Veira snuggles into his side for a moment as he stands near her. She gives a bit of a grin at his tease, "Mmm. Well, had you rushed out here with a warning I might have said precognitive." she teases him right back. "I've been thinking of taking them to the dog park, to meet others, but I don't want to leave you out of that. It's a big thing for them." she tells him.

It was like taking the kids out really.

She gives a chuckle, "I will hope that you always catch them...if not they might be cross with you." she admits. "That's not a bad idea really and I'm sure they'd be comfortable near the air conditioning with all their fur." she agrees with him.

There's a soft chuckle, "They do, I'm glad that you've been alright with them being in the bed." she admits to that. When the dogs come racing back there is a warm smile and she moves to sit down next to him, "Yes, dad's here, you're all saved." she sticks her tongue out at them playfully.
Jan de Wit He's not bowled over per say, but he does get crashed into by the over-zealous pups. Jan plops down onto his backside, laughing as he's buried in happy pups and doggy kisses. "The dog park would be lovely." He says, once he's got a moment to open his mouth without getting a kiss.

"I have a feeling my partners are confident in my abilities to catch them." He snickers, even as he scritches the dogs in turn. "We can look for some beds, then - they may take to it themselves. I am sure they will still come into bed every so often, though." He hrms, giving Orchid all the more scritches to reward her for her exercise today.

"We can also order a bigger bed, if needed." He waggles brows.
Veira de Wit Veira watches them quietly for a moment, seeming to soak in the happy sounds from Jan and the energy from the whole situation. "You guys, no tongue." she laughs as she realizes they are trying to be cheeky. "We'll do that sometime this week then." she gives a grin.

"Well...I know that you'd never let me fall. So I would hope they also know this." she smiles to this. "Someone is going to think we've started a rescue." she muses to this. His teasing waggle of brows with the answer of buying a bigger bed makes her laugh warmly as she scoots over closer to the cuddle pile.

"I love you." she states with a dazzling smile.
Jan de Wit The dogs, of course, scramble over her too! There is no shortage of doggo-adoration. "Sounds good... we'll find some beds that have good ratings and are going to be big enough to be comfortable for them. We can even put shirts in there from you and I to let them have our scent." Jan smirks.

"Never let you fall, indeed." He says, reaching over to stroke his hand over her arm. "And let them think so. We rescue the best dogs." He winks, nudging her.

"I love you as well, Veira." He purrs back, leaning in to kiss her. "I am very glad you've taken a vacation." A chuckle. "I want to be greedy and keep you around as long as I can."
Veira de Wit "Hello loves." Veira states to the dogs as she joins them. "You hear that? You're getting even more spoiled." she whispers to them. She was good with this. She wanted them taken care of. "That's a really good idea actually, I've never thought about that." she gives a grin to him. "I found out that the puppies like water. I was in the tub taking too long and they tried to crawl in with me." she muses to that.

This was the first big 'I love you' and Veira wasn't feeling nervous. Honestly she was just happy to have said it. She kisses him back, her head resting against his, "I think it was needed, so please feel free to be as greedy as you like." she tells him. "I'm definitely not going anywhere unless kicked out." she adds.
Jan de Wit His cheeks are a bit flushed, but he's clearly happy. Jan smirks as she gives the dogs the information on their upcoming spoiling! "I had thought about some easier stairs for the pool too, should they figure out it's for swimming in." He muses. "Scent is important for animals, and for us. We just don't register it as keenly as they do."

"It was needed. The vacaction." He agrees. "And... that phrase we shared was long overdue from me, Veira. I do love you." He offers, sincerely. "And I am not kicking you out, at all. If you... I mean, you can live here if you choose." I mean, she'd been staying there almost all the time... it was natural at this point.
Veira de Wit "Look at us being responsible parents." Veira gives a bright smile to that. "And yes, if the pool isn't gated off there should be stairs they can get out of. I am happy to help with costs as well." she points out. "Mmm, very good point on the scent, Jan." she nods to this. "Vacation will be lovely." she grins to that.

She does give a soft look to him, or as soft as she can get with the missing eye, "I should have said it a long time ago, but the moment felt right." she admits. The offer of moving in permanently makes her lean in to kiss him softly, "I think it might be good in the end. I know I hate parting ways for long periods." she whispers to him as she pulls back just a little.
Jan de Wit "Responsible. A vigilante and a covert agent." Jan smirks. "At least we're as responsible as we can manage." The dogs have settled, sensing a shift in the conversation. They are content to drape themselves over the couple's legs, with Orchid happily chewing on the ball. Her ball!

"I suspect we each had similar reasons for not saying it - but it is said, and cannot be taken back." He grins. "And it was said when it was supposed to be, I would imagine. Things have a way of falling into place, at the right time." He runs his hand over her arm, tracing fingers there. "So, who makes the announcment to your Overlord?" He winks. "And do I need to fill something out for SHIELD paperwork?"
Veira de Wit "Not the oddest pairing I've seen out there." Veira gives a smile to that. "And I mean...I have a savings, retirement and 401k...how much more adulting can the gods ask for?" she chuckles. "No take backs. I like that." she nods to that.

"I think everything has been on a good path so far and I am excited to see where we are going." she admits to that. Then there's a warm laugh, "Hmm, we should probably make that announcement together. I am sure he's going to be just as spoiled as the dogs, so he might like hearing it from us both." she explains. There is a gentle smile to him, "If we get married you'd probably need to fill out some SHIELD paperwork." she tells him.
Jan de Wit "Not by far, I am sure." Jan muses. "I have those things too! I think we're ... fiscally responsible." He gives a soft chuckle. "And no take backs, Veira. You have my love, like it or not." Another waggle of his brows.

"We can let him know when he's up and about, yes? I'll even start up a room for his lair." A smile. "And if we get married, I'll happily fill out paperwork of all sorts." Jan leans against her. "And it is a good path, for certain. Fate happened and we ran into each other - it makes me wonder what other beauty fate has in store for us?"
Veira de Wit Veira gives a grin, there were a lot of weird couples out there. "I think we are definitely that, yes." she muses to him. She kisses the tip of his nose, "I am perfectly happy to take all the love you want to give and I will give all that I can in turn." she tells him with a little wiggle.

"We can tell him in the morning. He's been sleeping longer given his wound...but I think once he's cheered up he'll thrive more." she smiles. She wraps her arm around him, leaning with him. "We will just have to wait and see what it has planned." she tells him softly.

"For now I will be ridiculously happy." she grins to that.
Jan de Wit "Does that mean he's going to take in Orchid and pups as his brothers and sisters?" He half-teases. "Is there anything we can do to better mend his injury?" Jan wonders, having grown accustomed to and fond of the dragon.

"Waiting. Patience is a true super-power." He jokes, his arms going around her as well as she leans to him. "It is all about recognizing that the end result is worth the wait."

"Happy unto a pleasant delerium. We should tell your parents, too..." He suggests.
Veira de Wit Veira gives a chuckle, "We could get them wings to wear for Halloween with him." she muses. "I think he already feels they're siblings. Which is better than him trying to eat them." she muses. "Sadly nothing that I've found in tomes has been helpful in healing him. So it'll just take time." she explains.

"It most assuredly is a rare super power." she tells him gently. "I think it is worth the wait...whatever things are planned." she states.

"My parents are going to be asking when the wedding is...I know it. My mom has already been sending me wedding magazines." she looks thoroughly amused at that! "But yes, they will be happy to know that we're living together." she grins.
Jan de Wit Jan ahs, nodding. "And I think... wings would confuse them. They'd chase each other to try to rid themselves of the costumes." A chuckle at the thought of the dogs racing after one another. "We can make him comfortable and keep him safe while he heals up, then. Least we can do."

"I don't think I will try to look ahead with magic - I wouldn't want to jinx anything or upset the nature of things." He decides. A smile at the mention of her parents. "She has? She's quite subtle..." He teases. "You know they are welcome to visit, right?"
Veira de Wit Veira gives a soft nod to that, "Oops, that is probably a good observation. We don't need them getting tangled in things." she nods to that. She gives a smile to him, "He really enjoys being here, so I'm glad that you've taken to him so well." she admits.

"Mmm, no cheating!" she chuckles to that. "Oh yes, mom is as subtle as a brick." she muses. "We could always have them here for dinner and an evening." she suggests.

"You ready to head in or want to spend a few more minutes out here?" she asks him with a warm smile.
