Owner Pose
Damian Wayne     It is a warm, sunny afternoon at stately Wayne Manor. The grounds are abuzz with the moving and growing things of spring. Birds sing in trees. Bees dutifully go on about their Official Bee Business. And the sounds of Damian's easy, carefree voice resonate through the grounds.

    <<record scratch>> Wait what?

The teen heir is outside wearing light gray gym shorts, a black T-shirt that says 'I see you have graph paper. You must be plotting something" and no shoes or socks. He's not alone today. With him is an adorably cute and cunningly deadly massive furry beast the size of a large pick-up truck: Goliath, Damian's bat-dragon, who has a big, red rubber ball in his mouth. The bat-dragon is bounding across the grass in an easy lope. Running quickly after him is Damian.

"YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE BRING IT BACK AFTER I THROW IT DUMBASS!"

And, finally, the third occupant of this grassy stretch: Ace is running after Damian, barking happily. He doesn't really know what's going on but is just pleased to be a part of whatever this is.
Phoebe Beacon     It's not often that Phoebe is surprised by something out of the ordinary, but today?

Today is full of surprises. For instance, Phoebe drops out of nowhere, shoulder rolls, and hits the ground running a moment, coming from the opposite direction that Damian is running in. Which puts her in front of Goliath, and her eyes go to saucer sized as she looks up at the beast with the red rubber ball, opens her mouth and gives a soft squeal.

    "Ohmigosh! You gotta ball!"
Damian Wayne     Goliath lets out a surprised "RRRRRRRRMPH!" at the appearance of Phoebe. As the bat-dragon lets out the shocked sound, the ball flies out of his mouth directly at Phoebe. Goliath tries to stop so he doesn't bowl over into her, but there is no way half a ton of fur and muscle is going to stop that quickly so he makes a last-second audible and takes to the air, just *barely* making it over Phoebe's head. Air turbulence fills the immediate area.

Far, far lighter and more spry than Goliath, Damian is able to some to a stop quickly. "Phoebe, where the hell did you...OOOOOOF!" The running ace plows right into the back of Damian. Both of them go down in a cloud of arms and paws and legs and tail.

Looking up as he spits grass out of his mouth, Damian wears his famous frown. There's our boy! Ace licks the side of his head.
Phoebe Beacon     Phoebe catches the ball, and ducks low so Goliath has plenty of room over her head, bracing against the turbulance as Goliath takes flight, wearing a T-shirt that announces some band called Mucous Membrane, it's got a couple holes in it and is clearly a 'hang around the house' T-shirt, and she watches as Damian skids to a stop on the grass -- only to be bowled over by Ace, the Bathound.

She just has the biggest grin through as Ace licks the side of his head, and Phoebe offers a hand down to Damian.

"Atta boy, Ace." she tells the dark dog, and looks back up to Goliath as he flies around, tucking the ball under her other arm.

"Oh, uh... magic?" she offers as an explaination of her sudden appearance. "I mean you all suddenly disappear, why is it a question?"
Damian Wayne     The teen vigilante climbs to his feet. "I disappear because I have a certain mastery of stealth techniques and the psychology of human attention."

The first fur baby to greet Phoebe is Ace, who trots up to her with his tail wagging all over creation, snuffling her and pushing his head under one of her hands. The second fur baby is the size of a shed. Goliath lands directly next to Phoebe. "RrrrrRRRrrrrrphhh?" he explains as he starts sniffing Phoebe.

"Goliath, she's an intruder. Eat her immediately!" Damian orders.

The huge bat-dragon looks skeptically at Damian, then back to Phoebe. He contemplates for a moment and decides for a different approach. He pushes his huge nose gently against Phoebe's shoulder. Of course, 'gently' is a relative term when we're dealing with a 1,000 pound, heavily muscled creature.
Phoebe Beacon     "Human attention is indeed a funny thing." Phoebe replies back to Damian, and she scritches at Ace with one hand and a soft 'Whosagoodboy? You are!' to the canine -- and then the massive dragon bat lands, and Phoebe is still scritching with one hand, looking up at the sniffing, huge, shed-sized creature. She smells like black pepper, roses, and citrus, and she pauses as she looks over to Damian who orders the creature to *eat her*!

"/Really/." she states to Dams, and then back to Goliath as he pushes his huge nose against Phoebe's shoulder. She takes a step forward with the nudge, and then she begins to coo at the huge, dangerous, red creature.

"Awww you're just a huge love aren't you?" she coos, and she reaches to try and scritch under the chin of the huge screature, curling her fingers so that she can get through the thick fur. "Do you like chin scritches? I know Idu gets itchy right about here sometimes. Oh you're just *amazing*." she states, utterly unafraid of him.

"So I'm guessing this is Goliath?"
Damian Wayne     There is a resounding *thud* as Goliath collapses to the ground and rolls on his back, tipping his head so Phoebe has an All-Access, Backstage Pass to his chin scratch area. This prompts a jealous bark from Ace, who attempts to maneuver his not-inconsiderable body between Goliath and Phoebe.

Damian walks closer, his hands held behind his back. "Indeed. Goliath is from Bialya. I got him when he was just an infant. Before I came to live with father. He has been my friend ever since." There is a more to it according to the undertone in Damian's voice. Phoebe, who is very empathetic, can no doubt sense it. And sense that it is something Damian does not wish to discuss here, on this bright, sunny, spring day with the sun shining and breeze blowing gently.
Phoebe Beacon     "I know Ace, little jealousy, it's okay." Phoebe gives a laugh, and she scritches at Ace's chin as well as trying to keep on scritching Goliath.

"Bialya..." Phoebe repeats, and she gives a small smile. She knew what Damian revealed to her.

"You're fortunate. He's a very powerful creature." Phoebe smiles, and she gives a gentle look to Damian, her eyes soft to her younger brother.

"Such good boys, though, playing ball on a beautiful day like this. Gotham doesn't get a lot of sunny, nice days. Good to take advantage of it."
Damian Wayne     "Goliath is either the last of his kind, or so rare that I do not know where to find others. It would be agreeable to release him among his own kind where he might perhaps find a mate and not be so lonely," Damian says in such a wistful tone that one might wonder who he's really talking about.

Damian wraps his slender arms around Ace and then falls backward, pulling the huge dog with him to the ground. Ace immediately begins to thrash around and playfully growl, but Damian wraps the dog in locked arms and locked legs. That pooch isn't going anywhere. Finally, Ace gives in and just lies there panting contently, tongue lolling out of his mouth.

"What are you doing today?" Damian asks his older sister.
Phoebe Beacon     Ace gets attention, and Phoebe gets to gently explore Goliath, scritching at The Good Spots (tm), along his jaw, behind his ears, now able to dedicate both hands to him -- but hearing that he is the last of his kind? Her smile turns sad, and she breathes out. "I know that plight." she replies gently. "Idu and I are the last, too." she comments, though the whisper is more towards the massive dragon bat than to Damian.

"Oh, my usual routine. Study, work out, chat with my dad in recovery. Maybe call Geraldine tonight and ask how a project at school went." she gives a small huff.

"I'm sure we can find others, somehow."

"Is he strong enough to fly with someone on his back?"
Damian Wayne     Damian releases Ace, who, it turns out, was content to lounge in his master's arms. So Damian sits up cross-legged and massages the happy pooch. "He is. He flies with me all the time. Would you like to try? Goliath, can Phoebe fly with you?"

The burly, muscled dragon bat rolls back to his normal position and rotates around so Phoebe can more easily climb on his back if she wants to.

"I have a harness I put on him if I'm riding him into battle," Damian explains. "But for just gliding around the grounds here, it isn't necessary.
Phoebe Beacon     "Smart. I've been in three-dimensional battle settings in the air. Hella confusing." Phoebe replies quizically, and she steps back a moment as Goliath rotates, and it's clear that Phoebe is torn as she looks to the massive dragon bat.

She wants to try it, of course, what could be more exciting than riding a massive dragon bat through the air?

    On the other hand...

"I'm usually wary of depending on anything else being int he air --" she trails off a moment, then she takes a breath, and placing a hand on Goliath's wing and one on his back, she lithely swings herself up.

    "Coming with?"
Damian Wayne     "I don't know whether or not he can carry both of us," Damian replies. "Plus Ace assures me that he will die if I stop giving him belly rubs." So he's going to sit this one out. He's ridden Goliath so many times recreationally and in combat. "If you're not feeling it, just pass. It's not like I'm gonna tease you for being too afraid to ride on a cute little fur baby." A playful gleam in Damian's eyes.

He lounges back in the thick, luxurious grass of the Wayne estate, giving Ace a Class 1 Puppers Rub-Down.
Phoebe Beacon     "I can and will set your ass on fire. But just a little one." Phoebe gives a wry smile, and she breathes out, stretching her fingers out and she looks to Goliath.

"All right Goliath, let's go!" she whispers softly.

Goliath sniffs the air, and then after a loping start, with a powerful leap he takes to the air. She gives a squeaaaal sound, flapping his wings and taking to the air. Phoebe holds tight with her legs around the creatue's barrel chest, and as they level out, Phoebe spreads her arms out, and gives a loud whoop.

    Goliath responds with a "RYYYEEEEEEEEHK!"
Damian Wayne     Waiting until there are no nearby witnesses, save Ace, who wouldn't tattle, Damian lets a small smile creep over his faace. He never thought he could have a normal moment like this. Well, as normal as a moment gets with a orphaned dragon bat flying one's magical older sister around through the air. Let's call it...Wayne Family Normal.

Much to Ace's chagrin, Damian stands. He trots over to Goliath's big red ball. On the next flyby, Damian breaks into a fast run -- and that kid can run fucking *fast* -- and launches the ball high into the air for Goliath to go after.
Phoebe Beacon     Wayne Family Normal is definitely as normal.

Phoebe holds on as Goliath turns over, and she watches over the side as Damian takes off running, and she feels her face falling a moment, seeing the red orb get tossed into the air as Damian and Ace bolt across.

"oh no oh no oh n--"

"KREEEEYK!" the dragon-bat roars, and he DIVES after the ball, swooping for it as he flaps his wings, the wind flying back as Phoebe's hair flies back. She holds on tightly.
Damian Wayne     Goliath snatches the ball in his mouth, but continues his rapid descent at a startling speed. It's a sobering reminder that this is a powerful creature with a will all its own. Damian's eyes go wide as he realizes what's happening. "Goliath, don't you dare!" He turns and starts running in the opposite direction. Too little, too late. The dragon bat scoops up Damian in his powerful, furry arms and arcs up, up, up into the sky.

Damian's voice can be made out through the rushing air. "YOU BETTER NOT DROP ME! PHOEBE SHOOT HIM WITH A FIREBALL BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!"
Phoebe Beacon     Phoebe gives the biggest laugh at poor Damian commands her to hit the bat-dragon with a fireball, and she turns skyward, her heart racing as they go up to the big blue.

"I'm not going to shoot him with a *fireball* Damian!" Phoebe calls back, and she leans over "Looks like we're both able to be supported by his weight though! Go Goliath, Go!" she whoops, flying up into the sky!
