Owner Pose
Matt Murdock This quiet stretch of Hell's Kitchen is home to a variety of businesses. Armstead's Laundromat is on the corner, with the Fast Fix electronics repair shop beside it. Next to that is Frost Curios, a small but well-maintained antique shop with knickknacks and old furniture in the window displays.

Next to that is a restaurant, The Greek Girl. A popular enough place with locals, there are a few tables and chairs set out in a little patio cut out along the sidewalk. Scents of gyros permeate the area, and it's a popular spot for coffee as well.

Down the sidewalk comes a man wearing inexpensive slacks and jacket. Matt Murdock's cane is swinging back and forth in front of him as he moves down the sidewalk. The sight of that cane, plus the dark glasses he wears, tends to cause even New Yorkers who notice to give him slightly more room on the sidewalk. Even if only to not get tripped up by the cane. Matt has a laptop-style bag over one shoulder as he makes his way towards The Greek Girl. A waitress spots him as she's just finishing up bussing a table. "Um, hello," she says. "Would you like a table?" she asks.

Matt nods and holds out his arm so she can guide him to an empty one as he says. "Yes, thank you. I'm meeting a friend or two, so one with four seats would probably be best."

Soon he's sitting at the a table, folding up his cane while the waitress heads in to get him a cup of cappuccino.
Danny Rand Matt's super senses no doubt pick up on the approach Danny Rand; the man who's heart rate is always...remarkably the same. A singular control over the entirety of his body being one of the boons of his time at K'un-Lun.

He's doing his best to blend into the crowd today; eschewing any fancy three-piece suits or exotic cars in favor of jeans, a long-sleeve v-neck, and taking the subway. He spies his compatriot Matt and picks up his pace, a smile peeling back at his lips as he approaches, hands dug into his pockets. "Guess who," he says, standing behind the man's back. For anyone else he would've reached out and covered their eyes, but that seems like it'd be in poor taste for this particular instance. He doesn't wait for a response before he's sliding into a chair across the table from Murdock.
Luke Cage One of the best parts about being Luke Cage is getting to help people. Sure, punching idiots through walls and lifting buses is always fun but being able to just do something nice for someone and help them better their lives is something that a price tag can't really be attached to. Especially on those mean streets of Harlem.

Which is one of the reasons why Luke Cage is in Hell's Kitchen right now. He's walking with a practiced purpose in the direction of The Greek Girl with a manila envelope in his hand. As per usual, he's rocking that jeans and yellow hoodie attire which may be an attempt at a signature look to keep potential foes from trying anything. There are a couple of familiar faces (or fans, who knows) that Cage nods at along the way before he steps into the restaurant.

"Heh." Luke's voice comes from the entrance as he immediately makes his way over to the table full of Matt and Danny, reaching for a chair to drop himself down into it. "This is cozy." The dry humor of Cage is followed up by the dropping of the folder down onto the table. As he sits down, he extends a fist in Matt's direction then over to Danny for a healthy dose of dap greetings to both.
Matt Murdock If Matt notices Danny's approach, there's nothing to give it away. Matt responds in his typically level voice. "Well, it's too early for Santa Claus," he says, breaking out in a small smile as Danny moves around the table to take a seat at it. "Waitress should be back soon," he says. "Just ordered a drink."

Luke's arrival furthers that small smile once Luke's voice has announced himself. "Luke," he replies, though doesn't respond to the fist dap since a blind man probably wouldn't notice it. Though Luke might catch the slightest growth of Matt's smile as if not being able to respond carries a small bit of humor with it.

"So you've got a friend with some kind of rental issue?" he asks Luke, that being the reason for meeting here. Matt opens up his bag, taking out a pair of small devices. One is a little handheld scanner. The other is a flat box-like thing which is a braille reader and can convert the scanned words into the bumps that are easiest for Matt to read.
Danny Rand Danny's expression brightens, too, at Luke's arrival and he delivers a fist bump with enough gusto to cover for Matt's refusal. Danny's got no idea why the meeting was called, but seems invested in the rental issue. Rand Enterprises owns the majority of the five bouroughs, so he's more than willing to lend a hand in any way he can.

"What's the deal, Luke?" Danny asks, leaning back in his chair and folding his hands over his stomach, kicking back in his typical overly-relaxed kind of way. He's gotta conserve his energy for fighting hoardes of ninjas, after all. It happens way more often than it ought to.

A pause lingers in the air for a second and he can't help but smile at the two of them. "Y'know, I'm just so happy to see you guys," he admits, his tone so deeply genuine that it might sound weird coming out of anybody's mouth but Danny Rand's.
Luke Cage "Now you know you could sense that." Luke comments about the lack of fistbump but he's also wearing a small smile so it's all in good natured fun between this trio.

Luke focuses on opening up the envelope while he fills them both in. "So I got this half-friend, half-client that's having some trouble with her landlord. He's a real piece of work." The rental agreement gets pulled out and slid across the table towards Matt's reading devices. "Anyway, I figured I could get you to look at it before I flick this little jerk into next month. See if there's any legal loopholes we can exploit instead."

That little explanation given, Luke leans back in his seat a bit. "It's good to see you too, Danny." And that's when Luke gets another potentially teasing grin on his face. "Especially, if I end up with an apartment building that may need a new owner. You bring your checkbook?" He's kidding. Right?
Matt Murdock Matt takes the documents from Luke and sets to work with the scanner. His fingers move back and forth over the braille reader, allowing him to read it nearly as quickly as a sighted person could. "Yes, kind of nice to be able to just share some coffee with you, for a change," Matt comments back to Danny. "The gyros are really good here too," he adds for their benefit as he reads.

The waitress comes back out with the big cup of cappuccino, setting it down by Matt. And menus are given to Luke and Danny. "Hey guys, what can I get you to drink?" she asks of the two newest arrivals.

At the shop next door to where the trio sit at the sidewalk-side patio, a man emerges. Gilbert Frost is fairly slight of build, with mousy brown hair and a rather pasty complexion. The forty year old looks well suited for running an antique shop. If the other options of accountant or librarian didn't work out. He turns a sign inside the glass from "Open" to "Be Right Back" and then closes the door. Gilbert fumbles in his pocket for his keys. Finds them. Drops them. Recovers them, then gets the right one into the door after a little effort. It seems to stick, taking a bit of effort before he finally gets it locked and the keys back in his pocket. He walks over towards The Greek Girl as well.
Danny Rand "You told me everything was cards now," Danny says, pulling his wallet out and producing the black credit card that's devoid of any and all markings and must mean that his credit limit is somewhere in the 'infinite' range. It's then that he realizes Luke was teasing him and he 'ooooh's, tucking the card back into his wallet.

"Just a water for me, please," Danny voices to the waitress with a smile, running a hand back through his shaggy hair to push away the wayward strands that had begun to obstruct his view. Mr. Frost's issue with the key is spied, but the man seems to have it in hand before Danny's reaction to help is called upon. He'll lift a hand in greeting to the approaching man but return his attention to his lunch dates.
Luke Cage "Water's fine, thanks." is Luke's drink order because he ain't about to try any funny drinks from The Greek Girl. Not exactly his kind of place but it is what it is. He's here on friendly business.

"Keep that handy." is Luke's remark about the black card. "In case this one doesn't find us any loopholes." He thumbs over in Matt's direction. Seems like Luke is really trying to find the most nonviolent option first.

If Luke is paying any attention to the shop nearby, he's not showing it. He's so focused on his friends at this table that he's just kind of relaxing through this impromptu meeting slash lunch? Something?
Matt Murdock Matt makes a quiet sound in his throat which could be taken as not a good sign. "Definitely not the most tenant-friendly rental agreement," Matt says as he continues to read. "Thankfully the city has a few provisions that will help. A couple of lines in the agreement aren't even enforceable. Though of course, most people don't realize that, so the landlord gets away with including them more often than not," he says in his level tones, but adding a tiny shake of his head.

Matt takes a sip of his cappuccino as the antique dealer from next door makes his way towards a table. At the polite greeting from Danny, he nods his head back. Then stops suddenly, digging in the pocket of his jacket. He pulls out a handkerchief and just gets it to cover his nose before a tremendous sneeze, one that knocks his glasses down his nose. "Oh, my hay fever," he complains with a sigh, wiping his nose and pushing his glasses back up before moving to take a seat at a table nearby.

The waitress returns with the two waters, then moves over to take Gilbert's order. He hems and hahs indecisively as he looks over the menu.
Danny Rand Sliding the wallet back into his pocket, he leans forward with his elbows on the table and tries to get a look at the rental agreement that Matt is poring over. His business accumen still leaves a lot to be desired, but he's doing his best to learn when he can.

"Bless you," he offers to the kindly Mr. Gilbert before his eyes return to the contract. "So what's the plan to handle it? Just a buyout, or can you knock this out by like filing a paper?" Danny asks, his eyes ticking up to rest on Matt's face. Hogarth once tried to explain the intricacies of the US legal system to Danny. It did not go very well.
Luke Cage "And that's why they pay you the big bucks. Good looking out, Matt." Luke is sitting up straighter in his chair now that some good news is coming down the legal advice pipeline. "So are we going to sue the pants off this guy or...?" Luke doesn't sound sure of the next steps for his plan to protect his friend/client.

When his water arrives, Luke offers the waitress a hearty, "Thank you." because if Mama Cage heard him not using his manners he'd be smacked upside the head so fast that his powers wouldn't even be able to stop that pain. He also glances over in Gilbert's direction when that sneeze of epic proportions happens but Danny's handling the 'blessings' so there's no real reason to keep staring. Not when he needs to be paying attention to Matt right now.
Matt Murdock "Thank you," Gilbert replies for the 'bless you', then buries his head in the menu. "I'll have the... um... maybe the lamb gyro. Oh, no, it always disagrees with me," he murmurs to himself. The waitress just stands quietly, chewing her gum and being patient, yet with an expression that suggests she's used to this kind of indecisiveness from the antiquer when ordering.

Matt makes it to the end of the contract. "Well, admittedly just buying the building is a bit out of my normal playbook," he says. Nelson and Murdock still get paid with produce, baked goods, and the skills of their clients as much as they do with money. "But I think there are a few avenues for recourse," he assures Luke.

"I'll get with Foggy and draw up a motion that should prevent them from being able to evict your friend. That'll just be the start of it, while we put together some complaints for the Housing Board. If the landlord is a small, independent operator then that might be all it takes. They won't want to draw too much attention from the city. But the bigger ones already have people in their back pockets to where it'll take quite a bit more to actually see changes made to their living conditions," Matt advises in his just slightly raspy voice, deeper than one might expect from looking at the blind man. "Or could send Danny to punch someone," he says, before holding up a hand as he smiles. "Just kidding."
Danny Rand "I'm not opposed to punching someone," Danny admits. It's like his one thing, after all. "But this does seem like an easier way to handle it. Let me know if they try to weasel out of it, though, and Rand Enterprises will take care of them," Danny assures them. After returning to America, he was absolutely astounded by the amount of problems that just go away once you through money at them.

"Can I get just a pork gyro?" Rand asks of the waitress as she approaches their table once more, having just finished tending to Gilbert and his characteristic indecision.
Luke Cage "I mean, violence is never really the answer. Unless it gotta' be." Sounds like Luke is okay with bustin' a couple of landlord heads if they gotta' do that. It's all just kind of part of the options but he keeps it in his back pocket.

"Sounds good though. I'll let her know we're on it. Maybe she can get a little easier sleep. Thanks, Matt. Seriously." Even Luke can stop kidding around long enough to offer a genuine thanks to his friend. "Uh, put all these services on Danny's tab." He's kidding again. Right?
Matt Murdock Matt gathers up the papers of the contract and returns them to the folder before passing it back over towards Luke. "Glad to be able to help," he says. Matt stows the scanner and braille reader back into his bag, then takes a sip of his cappuccino.

"It's ok, we can do this one pro bono," Matt says. He's gently resisted taking money if offered from Danny. While it might be nice to have a more steady income, it just always felt like the wrong path to go down, relying on his teammate and friend like that.

The legal issues tended to, Matt rests his laced fingers across his stomach and leans back in his chair. "So how is the bar, Luke? Are you happy with the business it is getting? Or want to take on Harlem's Paradise for the top night spot in the borough?" he asks. Which is more making conversation than anything, given the hugely different sizes and ambience of the friendly neighborhood bar, and the historic Harlem nightspot.

"How are things going at your company, Danny? Did you make it through the recent troubles without too much damage?" Matt asks. Referring to a battle with angels that took place in Manhattan a few months prior, that had required evacuating the whole island of Manhattan.
Danny Rand Matt's refusal to tap into Danny's nigh-infinite pocketbook is met with a flattening of his lips, but Rand knows better than to press the issue. Matt's drowning in enough Catholic guilt that he doesn't need to add any other debt to be paid on top of it. Not that he'd ever dream of collecting.

Danny nods to Matt and says, "We had some damage, but it's nearly fixed now. Spent the whole time just doing my best to evacuate people. Lost some, though," he admits, his expression turning dour for a time. "I've...well, I've heard about some Hand activity lately, though. In Brooklyn. Nothing worth really talking about, but you two keep your ears open, yeah?"
Luke Cage Luke grabs up the folder of paperwork and makes sure to keep it in front of him so he can get it back to his friend in one piece. And away from gyro juice that might show up at some point. Definitely not going to want to deal with that.

"I'm good with the bar. Harlem's Paradise is anything but so I think I'ma' let them keep their top spot for a few more years." Cage knows about some of the ish that goes down in there but he can't ever catch nobody red handed. "Besides, I got the barbershop too. Lot of gigs. Maybe too many gigs." He's just realizing this now.

Listening to Danny's words, Luke gives a nod. "Of course. You just let me know if you need a hand... with the Hand." He's a little too proud of that one.
Matt Murdock Matt Murdock gives a small nod, listening to the people around them to make sure no one's heart has quickened at anything that might have been overhead. But he just hears people eating and talking among themselves. "Of course. If you need an assist on any investigative work," Matt offers. Which for the Devil of Hell's Kitchen often means beating information out of someone. As quiet and mild-mannered as Matt Murdock seems, he doesn't pull punches until it's necessary to avoid killing someone.

"Well, we can enjoy a nice meal then and worry about other things later. For a change," he says with a smile. "Though, I may have someone that we might wish to pull away from that organization. She's apparently seen the error of her ways as far as they go. If not, about the type of life she leads in general. A friend is hoping we might be a good influence," Matt says.

If anyone gets a sinking feeling he might be talking about Elektra as said friend... well, they know them both enough to suspect it.
