Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix is currently settled over on one of the small chairs in the library. The girl has a psychology textbook in front of her that looks somewhat dated. The book is thick and looks like the types of thing designed to torment freshmen with back in the 1980's. Monet is currently slowly shifting page by page. WIth how fast she can read and process information she's either paying rapt attention or bored out of her mind and going through the motions.
Tabitha Smith Amazingly, despite not being a student since here she finished her highschool diploma last year. At age twenty. Tabitha does still read and study stuff on her own time.

A brain loaded with ADHD needs to do a lot to stay occupied or it might do anything and even superheroing or video games and other media isn't always eneough.
Hence enters the blonde Boomie. Dropping a stack of books into the return chute rather haapgazardly enough it would make Xi'an cry for vengeance if she saw it.

Better to keep her occupied lest she might do something weird. "I still don't know why you don't just do that supergenius brain cramming and then just blitz into a few PHD's Just do the tests and thesis and all that.
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would lgance over at Tabitha, "Ah, hello. Are you here to study or merely to indulge in whatever admiration from afar of the archivist that you can? It's much simpler to just go to her and ask her out. Muster up your courage, make yourself presentable, find ou thwat type of flowers she likes, and ask her out. She seems the tradtiionalist type. So something romantic will be most effective if you approach her that way, by my estimation."
Sam Guthrie Sam Guthrie comes walking into the room. He has 2 tupperware containers with him. He is bringing back a cookbook of all things. He sees the two girls and offers them a nod. He walks over to slide the smaller tupperware container into Xian's desk. He heads over towards the other ladies. He opens the container and says "Would either of you like some Sfogliatella?" they are not perfect looking but look like ones someone learning to make them have made.
Tabitha Smith "Xi'an. Love her to bits! But she's off doing other librarian slash being a big sister type stuff off campus. Also already did that. So ya know." Tabby points out and giggles. Presentable is probably a realy subhective word for Tabitha's appearance. Actual normal un ripped bluejeans and a zip up white Xavier hoodie Eben her shoes match. No collars no spikes. Even her hair is down. The glasses are still her usual cat eyes though but the yellow lenses are part of the presciption. That much bright booming takes it's toll in many ways.

"And Karma totally likes how I dress. If a girl wants me to dress up. She can ask me herself. I'll bring any flowers that look pretty and won't give my allergies ammuntition. And sometimes yes I will try and be a bit more subtle than just your're hot. Wanna make out!"
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would glance over at Tabitha, "Yes, I'm merely noting that ifyou're here to try and find her to woo then you'll do better with a plan and something prepared. She seesm teh type to indulge in the cliches so even someone as cavalier as you can manage something so.." She would glance at Sam, "Samual, I hope that events find you well. I was merely commenting on as to the particulars I presumed explained Tabitha's presence here."
Sam Guthrie Sam Guthrie nods, a bit and says "Doing pretty well, been practicing making these, and figured would put Xian some for her, and Leong, and Nga," He explains the one h e put in the desk, and since M does not seem interested offers the pasties to Tabby," His brow is raised a bit hearing Tabby and Xian are a possible item, but he may have to quiz Tabby about that later, to nice to torment her in front of others.
Tabitha Smith "Past tense Money Honey! Xi'an and I already dabbled together. Honestly she needed someone to be all forward with a girl more than I do. I also know she's not in the building. Oooh! You really cooked too much or is this off loading left overs Sam?" she states and beams immensely at the food and the man that brough it. Easily slipping from one though to another and her stomach rumbling adding its appreciation for the arrival of things that can go into it.

Pastries are claimed and using one hand to aim for a chomp the other cups underneath it to catch any crumbs and mess. It's a skill learned when food could not be wasted.

"Saaaam!" she beams as she finally swallows that first big bite. She clearly likes!
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would ah at Tabitha, "Very well, my apologies over for mistaken assumptions." She would return after a few moments while letting Tabitha go at the pastries, not pursing them herself. "I hope that both of you are doing well." She would go to pick up teh old looking psychology textbook she had been perousing to put it back in the shelves where she had gotten it from.
Sam Guthrie Sam Guthrie looks over and says "These are still the learning curve." He tells Tabby. "Nona is teaching me how to make them over the net, so I can make them for Alexis, and the great grand babies, she continues to remind me she would like to have as soon as possible." He chuckles a bit to this.
Tabitha Smith "If she comes back. We'll see. I ain't exactly a one woman gal." Tabby states with a wistful tone. "Maybe you should ask her out Monet. Don't act like your eyes wander over us girls as much as the inverse. She's also like one of the smartest and loving women I ever known. Like top five." she suggests with a wink. "You should totally teach Nona some of the downhome goodness Mama Guthrie imparted. Gotta balance that Italian with our Appalachian." she states and chuckles. "The food and the music. The old ways we can do without. I think my neck just turned extra red." she states and leads herself into some self inflicted cultural guilt.
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would look at Tabitha, "Go for what makes you happy. If you find someone you wish to pursue, then do so. There is no need to restrict yourself over to something you do not find appealing." She would reply after a moment's consideration. "I'm sure that will make you quite more popular around the Mansion, Samual."
Sam Guthrie Sam Guthrie chuckles and nods a bit "Ah have made them dome fried chicken and biscuits when were last over there, and Nona and Momma have been talking to, so no wonder what those two will be coming up with between them." He grins a bit and says "Well, Ah figure if I want to have them right and surprise her with them where better to practice and do away with the evidence."
Tabitha Smith "Sam. I am nothing if not a criminal mistressmind that knows the best way to dispose of the procedes of nefarious buttering up of potential in-laws. Also hug your mama for me. Tell her to brace for extra when I see her at the wedding." Tabby points out and wolfs down the first pastrie. The calories will get burnd somewhere. Her metabolism does have silver linings.

"Monet. Remember that you are not an island unto yourself. The last one the X-Men met tried to eat them. You'd be fantastic but you gotta remember to take care of all your needs. We all look after each other how we do best. Sam bakes like a madman. There's other things too and not just in a fight. But we're New Mutants we all look out for each other. I make others look good and awesome by sheer presence alone!" she states and grins.
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would nod, "I see. When you phrase it that way it perhaps gives a rather different impression o fpreparation.." Beyond appetizing, that is. But M speaks from the perspective of someone who no doubt abhors the way that 'the masses' eat after all. "I'm glad that all finds you well."

Tabitha would get a flat look from Monet, "I appreciate your attempted inclusion, Tabitha. I strongly dislike extremely greasy, fattening things." She would glance at Samual, "No offense intended of course."
Sam Guthrie Sam Guthrie chuckles, and says "No offence, just remember grease is almost an extra food group back home." He jokes a bit and nods to Tabby,'s comment "And if Ah learn anything a bit lighter and fluffy will keep you in mind Monet, but Ah think thats more French than Italian cooking.
Tabitha Smith "Monet just worries that somehow despite her perfect body that a few extra calories will. Oh my stupid god. You've never had a homecooked meal?" Tabby's bespectacled eyes go wide at the revelation.

"Really? Like I bet you never had someone close to you sit that bubble down and cook you a meal. And I don't mean like have the help do it. They themselves. Like parents or girlfriend slash boy friend?" she asks and looks at Sam like she's just discovered some long hidden trauma Monet has suffered that puts anything else to shame. "Saaaam, we gotta fix this!"
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would look at Tabitha in bafflement. "Tabitha, I just stated that I disliked such types of food. I can prepare meals myself. I was taught to cook properly by my nanny and one of father's servants. I can attend to such things when I feel the need for it. I am extensively aware of what my preferences are in cuisine."

Way the other half (or the upper half of one percent) lives.
Sam Guthrie Sam Guthrie chuckles, a bit at the two. "Sometimes, Ah do wonder a bit about cooking, at some points, it seems the things folks look down at the people in the lower parts are eating, ended up some of the more fancy fancy stuff for the higher ups." He smiles and waves to the two as he says "But I need to go, gotta stop by and talk to Harry on my way home, before he leaves for the day." And with that he is heading out.
Tabitha Smith "Monet. Wow. Just because you can cook one. And damn I kinda wanna try your cooking. I mean having someone you care about cook you a meal you like. It's like bonding type stuff. Family close family. It says something if your nanny. God you had a damn nanny. Is closer than your parents but still there's something to be said about a family meal they cooked together or at least watched Sam cook." The man gets a shoulder bump in lieu of a hug when he goes and Tabby takes another pastry. "Your family Monet, we gotta fix this and I gotta cook you something. Just name the damn thing you jones for and I will scour the library for recipes and whole foods for the ingredients!"
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would look at Tabitha, "Father never cooked. My sisters are too young." Didn't Monet have a brother? "Yes, we are all residents here and I appreciate the help. But I do not have any particular traditions of cooking nor was it ever something that my family performed together." She would say this with the tone of voice of someone who that was so far outside of her norm as to be incomprehensible.
Tabitha Smith "We're not just residents you know. Seriously you've been here for years of and on. You're one of us. You've taken injuries for me Monet! Family. That thing you keep hearing the others go on about when I'm all mopey or ragey." Tabby airclaws and grins but there is a sense of pouting on the blonde.

"It's hard to realise but yes we do love you here. That includes doing domestic things us poor folk do like sharing meals, cooking and being cooked for and not just the mass piles of mac and cheese we do in the main kitchen." she states. "The mac and cheese is good though. When I'm on it to cook. I drop some extra brie and cammen bear" she doesn't know how to spell it. "Damn fancy cheeses in."
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would sigh, "I appreciate your etnhusiasm, Tabitha, but cuisine is meant to be done a certain way. While there are opportunities over for some level of improvisation and experimentation, when one is attempting to make a proper entre for themselves or for an event, everything is premediated to ensure it comes out apprporiately. And if you are looking for someone to help you learn to cook, there would be better. I am only capable of moderate or even adequate preparation. Nothing too involved."
Tabitha Smith You would think Monet was admonishing a puppy the way Tabby's eyes dilate behind her glases. "There's more than one way to enjoy food. One of them is about who you spend it with and how. Sometimes a date and fancy cuisine is fine. Others it's a bunch of us around a small table in an apartment and maybe a single course." she states and nods her unruly loose haired head.

"Look no one is expecting five stars in a family meal. The idea is when you cook for someone you put that love for your family into the effort and it comes out in the taste. It makes the rest of the family feel loved and they love back. Like a hug but in your stomach." she says and rubs her abdomen and nudges at the pastires Sam left.

"That's why he brought thoses. Karma and the kids won't see a crumb. But Sam knows that they'll be enjoyed and he shares it cause her cares like we, I do!"
