Morgan Finn It's a warm spring afternoon on the Happy Harbor campus. Students are all abuzz making preparations for final exams next week. But Morgan was outside sulking, watching the baseball team practice. Recently, Morgan, who has been a successful school athlete, mysteriously dropped from all of the sports teams. No word of explanation was given, and rumors have been buzzing.

Heaving a wistful sigh, the teen demigod enters the library. "Might as well get some studying in," he murmurs to himself as he stalks across the otherwise quiet chamber.
Clover Sharp A light above a blue-haired student blinks in and out a couple of times. Clover takes no notice as she continues to read her mathematics book, trying to solve a hard problem. Clover's shadow appears to move in ways Clover isn't during the light flashes. She glances up seeing someone whom she doesn't know and blushes, trying not to stare. "Hi there" she says politely.
Morgan Finn Morgan stops dead in his tracks as he notices something on the floor. He blinks a few times and looks up at the ceiling at the malfunctioning light. "Ummmm...."

The teen peers at Clover, canting his head curiously to one side. "Hi," he says back to her. "Lemme ask you a question real quick. Has anyone ever told you that your shadow is all kinds of weird?" Then he just pulls out a chair and sits at Clover's table without being invited. "I'm Morgan, by the way. I think I seen you around campus."
Clover Sharp Clover's jaw drops some and she says, "Wonder Boy!" a little louder then she was meaning to as the sounds echoes in the library. "Umm sorry didn't mean to yell I was just surprised. You're my first." Clover blushes again and says, "First hero I've met that talked to me. " She takes a deep breath and says, "The shadows around here have a mind of their own sometimes. I'm Clover Sharp. Nice to meet you, Morgan Finn. "She then whispers over her shoulder to her shadow , "Will you behave!" She looks back and says, "I just got transferred here and we already have finals" Clover tucks her comic books deeper into her bag after seeing a couple sticking out. Clover is wearing her apron from art class still. "Are you here to study too?"
Morgan Finn Morgan play-jumps when Clover blurts out "Wonder Boy." He looks around. "Where? I heard that dude is a badass?" Then he leans back in his seat and grins playfully at Clover. "Well you must not get out much because this place is lousy with superheroes. Anyway, yeah I'm Wonder Boy but please call me Morgan. It's nice t'meet you, Clover."

He peers curiously at the girl with slightly narrowed eyes. "So the shadow thing, are you messing with me? Or was it just a trick of the light?"
Clover Sharp Clover says, "No, I don't leave the dorm very much except for classes and walking around at night. The shadows are alive around and are usually my friends." She looks around then leans in. "I can show you but just between us. I'm not ready for everyone to know."

The girl stands. "Come on, over behind these stacks. I need somewhere with dim light to show you."
Morgan Finn Raising his eyebrows, Morgan grins as he stands up. "Hey, lead the way. A cute girl asking me to go behind the stacks?" He winks. "I'm just playin'. But seriously, I'd love to see." He gestures with one hand, indicating that Clover should lead on. He moves in to follow her to the stacks.
Clover Sharp Cover walks to the stacks and sees the book she wants way out of reach. She waits for Morgan and calls silently for her shadow to rise up and like a zombie clawing out of a grave. The shadow materializes out of the darkness, appearing like an etherial skeleton. Clover points and says, "That one." The shadow gets the book and hands it over to Clover. She dismisses it and it's gone like it never existed." She then looks over to Morgan to see his reaction.
Morgan Finn Morgan takes a surprised step backwards. "Okay," he says, trying to sound calmer than he feels. "That is a thing that just happened. So, you can control the shadows. Ummmmm...we should...we should probably have a deeper conversation about this." The teen demigod's expression is laced with a bit of visible concern.

He is about to say more but a librarian patrols over. "You kids get your books and sit down and study instead of gabbing back here. Finals are next week and they're not going to study for themselves." Morgan gives Clover a brief glance then says to the library, "Yes, Mrs. Reynolds."
