Owner Pose
Bruce Banner Doctor Bruce Banner is on the move again. At least, he has been. After the ordeal with Samuel Sterns and his attempt to irradiate a small town into gamma mutates, Banner mostly disappeared off the radar and tried to stay out of sight. An unfortunate run-in with the Juggernaut and AIM put a swift end to that, but Bruce Banner has never been the kind of man who is quick to seek out help.

This might be why a man matching Bruce Banner's description is working at a small garage and renting a double-wide in southern Utah. He doesn't talk particularly much, but he's real handy. Locals say he can fix anything: cars, tractors, generators, computers...

But he is not the man of the hour. That honor falls to a big green fellow who is presently running at high speed across the open desert, his stride broken up only by bounding, multi-mile leaps over the flats.
Clark Kent The Hulk is loose.

That's the word, anyway. Clark had picked up part of the whole sad mess on the JLA grapevine; The Leader up to his usual tricks, the Juggernaut still doing jobs for AIM. More problems Clark hasn't been able to solve directly. He should've been there, instead of following leads about New York scheming. Maybe New York should take care of its own for once, Clark thinks, a little bitter at whatever mad scheme AIM needs the Juggernaut for escaping him twice now.

But that has to wait because the Hulk is loose. Hopefully he can be talked down, or is fighting something worse than him. Superman doesn't want another fight with the green goliath; he'd win, of course.

Of course.

But the damage to the world around them could be too much to bare. It was bad enough dealing with that maniac, Gladiator, who nearly broke the moon in two. Trapped in a world of cardboard, Superman soars through the sky, trying to find the tracks of the Incredible Hulk.
Bruce Banner Fortunately, the Hulk is not neither particularly stealthy nor particularly attempting to hide. He also has very large feet, and by association, large footprints. So far, he hasn't caused too much trouble---and overturned car in a gas station, a few mauled street signs, and a traffic light he smashed through jumping away from civilization. Provided Superman passes overhead instead of blindsiding the Green Goliath, the monster slows to a steady jog.

"What you want with Hulk?" he asks, without fanfare.
Clark Kent If Hulk isn't rampaging-always a matter of scale for the Hulk-Superman isn't going to antagonize the brute by striking first. For one thing, it never works! He just gets up mad and swinging and you look like a jerk. For another, maybe something is wrong.

So Superman skids to a halt instead, hovering in the air to meet Hulk in the eye, arms crossed. "Hello to you too, Hulk." Superman says, waiting to see if this gets him a swing.

"I heard about the Leader." Superman decides to just go with the truth. "I flew by to check up on you. See if you're alright. I know it's always personal with him."
Bruce Banner The Green Goliath looks up and narrows his eyes under that broad, often furrowed brow. In that instant, his green eyes---always with that faint glow---are laser focused on the Man of Steel.

He snorts, then looks away. "You just here afraid Hulk will smash. Why you care about Hulk otherwise?" the line is said in the same way a moody teenager might say it. He continues stomping, but not at full speed. It's more of a grumpy stroll, at best, or at least it would be if he wasn't leaving spider-web cracks and massive footprints.

"Big brain man wants to make more like Hulk. Makes dogs. Makes Lady Hulk like Jen, but Red. Makes Ross other Hulk. Too many Hulks. Already hard enough for Hulk to be left alone."
Clark Kent Hulk's accusation is petulent, and a little mean spirited.
#-1 ARGUMENT OUT OF RANGE's not wrong though. "You're the only always saying you want to be left alone." Superman counters, "Do you want company after all?"

Huk spills the tea, as they say. Superman walks on air beside him. "I hate when they do dogs. It's hard enough when there are regular guard animals, but those poor things didn't ask for any of this."

"I suppose that's true for everyone, though. How did the fight go down?" Did you get them all?
Bruce Banner "Hulk doesn't like dogs either. Dogs nice. Not deserve bad things." The Hulk idly kicks a rock, which goes shooting off hard enough to embed itself in a nearby plateau in a cloud of dust. "People always want to fight Hulk. Do things to Hulk, or they mad at stupid Banner." Hulk pauses. "If you not want to fight Hulk." He pauses, looking at Superman suspiciously. "Hulk not mind." Beat. "For now."

The Hulk breathes deeply, slowly. There's a hint of an uncharacteristic sluggishness there, one more noticeable for someone like Clark who can hear the beating of a heart or the subtle changes in breathing.

"Hulk thinks so. Jen there. Widow there. Other flying man there. One in black suit, not blue. Red hair."

"But Hulk smashed them." He slams his fist into palm meatily. It disturbs the dust with the shock. "Dogs. Gold robots. And stupid Leader's machine."
Clark Kent "I'm not here to fight you." Superman says, and means it. He'd much rather the Jade Giant work this out on the highway than in the middle of battle. Listening is easy; he's a reporter, after al, and that's a big part of his job. Who actually stops and listens to this poor man?

"He does like gold, doesn't he?" Superman says, frowning. The Leader is a particularly odious threat, despite being a victim much like Banner. "...Hulk, are you alright? You seem off."
Bruce Banner "Hulk is the strongest there is."

It rings with confidence, even in the face of possibly the strongest man on the planet. Even so, the Hulk exhales deeply in a snort as he says it.

"Hulk drain big head's machine. Take all his power. It makes Hulk MAD, and strong, so Banner try to fix it. Try to take away Hulk's strength."

The Hulk sits down with a boom, leaning against a rock. "Banner's puny machine not work, though. Hulk too strong. Hulk...just need rest."

And as the Hulk tries to rest, he is slowly replaced by another, the man himself, Doctor Bruce Banner.

"Uh, hi, Superman. ... I guess you have some questions. ... think I could get a lift back to town?"
