Zatanna Zatara Mothering Gage magically has taken some strange turns. But it is neither mothering or magic that brings them to this glittering bar, dressed in their best for going out on the town. Well, not a lot of magic...just enough to keep from being asked for their IDs. When the question about their respective ages is about to be popped, Zee mutters a few words under her breath. The server's eyes glaze over and poof, the bar is their oyster.

"I would like a margarita on the rocks with salt with top shelf tequila," she orders. Leaning back, she eyes Charlie. "Go ahead. You're cool. Order."
Charlie Gage     Charlie appreciates the mothering, magical or otherwise, though this trip was billed as a slightly delayed birthday outing. Well even if Zee didn't say it, that is how Charlie has pretty much viewed every outing in the last week or so since her Birthday last Thursday.

    Cause Birthdays.

"oooh." she notes at the glazed eye look, yeah she caught that, which is progress, gods only knows a couple of years ago she wouldn't have caught on.

There is a look at the cocktail menu. "umm...." looking over all the Whiskey and Bourbon themed drinks a bit longer. "Uhm.. passion Fruit Bourbon Sour." cause well she likes passion fruit and sour stuff. This will totes be fine right.

"This is exciting" once the waiter is gone.
Zatanna Zatara One sapphire eye winks at the young sorcerer and a fashionable dressed shoulder lifts, "Happy Birthday, Charlie and welcome to the wider world. In a lot of Europe you are of legal drinking age. Hmm, that should be fun. Sometimes it is better to drink spirits neat with nothing covering the taste. It's not as easy to drink too much that way."
Charlie Gage     "Oh." she notes eyes widening a touch as she leans back in her chair. "I guess that makes sense." still learning. "It just sounded like it would taste good. Do they taste good without stuff mixed in them.. um neat like you say?"

Yeah she isn't so cool she can't act like a clueless tourist about it. Honestly she prety much always acts like a naive lamb about stuff like this in Zee's experience. Well one in need of ADHD meds, baaa.

"Oh, did I tell you Babs got me a motorcycle and gear... I think it is a tradition."
Zatanna Zatara "Unfortunately, it's usually something people can't be told but learn the hard way," Zee's lips curve in a faint smile as she looks into the middle distance remembering something.

"No, the opposite, straight up bourbon, tequila or gin has a piquant bite to them that just might remind you that they will bite you in the ass if you drink too much of them." Amused she doesn't say more. Likely Charlie will get drunk and experience her first hangover in all its glory. Some things have to be learned the hard way.
Charlie Gage     Ah yes, Zee is a hard teacher, hopefully Gotham and Charlie survive Charlie drunk after a night on the town.

"I'll have to try that next." which one, good question. Maybe she means all of them.

"Oh, hey did Phoeby reach out to you yet?"
Zatanna Zatara Sorcerers are seldom gentle with their students for good reason. Giovanni Zatara despaired of Zee hardening up sufficiently to handle magic well enough not to be eaten alive by it or its practitioners. But, if she were to admit it (she won't ever, aloud) she has a soft spot for Charlie and Phoebe.

One eyebrow arches as she shakes her head, "No, not at all. Why? What have you heard?"
Charlie Gage     "Oh, I ran into her sorta moping in the park. She mentioned me and I was playing with a people saying my name with intent in Gotham thing... it worked which was neat... but when I popped in she was talking to one of the vengeance ghost dudes and a girl I didn't know....."

Where was she going with this. She trails off and thinks a moment.

"Oh right, after they left, they were trying to get her help investigating some sort of ooze based hero and thought it might be magic.. I personally am betting alien or demon... but anywho..."

Which is when the drinks arrive and Charlie grins and accepts her Passionfruit Bourbon Sour with both hands. Waiting for the waiter to go again.

"She mentioned she hadn't seen you since in too long, since the whole League Dark thing and that she was worried you might be mad at her and she was sad... So I bopped her and told her she should come by and talk to you and she is a dork that just needs to not be worried and just visit."
Zatanna Zatara Zee's expression darkens at the mention of invocation magic. Whimsical fun calling your friends and a whisper away from conjuring the worst nightmares. She leaves the subject behind.

"Ah, Blaze? Interesting man. Fancies himself a ladies man, too," a small sharp smile returns at that.

"I bet you were right about the demon or alien. Phoebe is not above placing herself in danger."

She raises her glass to Charlie. "Happy Birthday. Slainte!" She takes a sip of her drink and adds, "You give good advice. She can worry too much about what others think."
Charlie Gage     Charlie is boundto learn some dangerous lessons about magic onew way or another.

"Well one of them, my understanding is there is more than one of them. Which is interesting. I haven't pinned any of them down to really talk to any of them yet."

She gives a sniff of the rink and then raises her drink to toast Zee back "Slainte!" then pauses "What does Slainte mean...?" she does take a sip of the drink "Oo.. fruity and burny..." she takes another testing sip.
Zatanna Zatara Licking the salt off her lip after another sip, "It means health. Which when you consider how much some Irish can drink, it's paradoxical." She considers something a moment, "That's right, there are two of them. I've only met Jonny Blaze."
Charlie Gage     Charlie looks curious at the salt rim. "I'm trying one of those next." she probably thinks it is a sugar rim. Truth be told.

Try that next she does. Along with many other drinks.

Babs will be sad in the morning, so will Charlie.
